My accidental Original Fried Chicken Sandwich
    Shirley W.

We were looking for dinner options around Downtown Disney and decided to stop by here! GG's Chicken Shop is located in the Parkside Market, which is essentially like a small food hall/court here. It's a great addition to have a casual eatery amongst all the long line restaurants here! There wasn't a line when we first got there, so ordering was pretty easy. They hand you a buzzer to place on your table, so no need to pick up the food. I got the Original Fried Chicken and my bf ordered The California salad. The portion sizes were actually pretty big for the price here, so it seemed pretty reasonable! The chicken was really thick, and the salad came with a variety of items. My bf's sister also ordered the same fried chicken that I did, but I noticed her had cabbage, pickles, etc. I checked mines and to my surprise, I basically only had the bun, chicken, and spicy mayo... There was nothing else at all to my sandwich. I then went up to the cashier and actually showed them my sandwich and they were also surprised mines didn't come with cabbage, pickles, etc.... so they gave me a new one and tossed my old sandwich (which I totally wouldn't have mind keeping it lol). So I got a new sandwich of the Original Fried Chicken. After trying my second sandwich.. the main difference was that it had hot honey, cabbage, and pickles. This sandwich overall tasted a lot sweeter? I wasn't too fond of the hot honey, and it made me actually appreciate the first sandwich I had LOL Also, the chicken and batter was more 'separated', so it wasn't as meaty as the first one I had. So oddly enough, I liked my accidental sandwich better than my actual one haha. Generally, the sauce is pretty overpowering and makes it more sweet than savory. We also had fries to share which was pretty good! This one was actually a small portion, so wish they had more. The seasoning was pretty nice.

Finally got around to trying GG's Chicken Shop in Downtown Disney. It's located inside of the new Parkside Market and is definitely a solid quick service option at the Disneyland Resort. There are several places to sit inside to enjoy your meal. However, with the newly reimagined Downtown Disney, there is also a plethora of places close by to enjoy your food outside. The inside of the Parkside Market is new and well-maintained. We came in for lunch on a weekday in the early summer. The line to order was minimal and the food was ready within a reasonable time. Our order consisted of an - Original Fried Chicken Sandwich - Sweet Chili Fried Chicken Sandwich - waffle fries To our surprise, the quality of the sandwich was really, really good. Competitive to other chicken sandwich spots outside of the Disney bubble. Flavors were on point and the chicken on each sandwich was crispy and flavorful. The only downside for us was the price, but it was expected based on its location. They did honor the Magic Key discount when we asked. We would definitely return to GG's Chicken Shop in the future while visiting the Disneyland Resort. A fantastic, quality addition to Downtown Disney. (NOTE: You do not need a park ticket to visit GG's Chicken Shop since it's located in Downtown Disney and not in one of the parks.)

Kids chicken tenders meal. Fries were unbelievably crispy!

Haiku: GG's Chicken Shop Take into the parks Juicy, succulent sandwich Fries are a must-get. --- We've come a few times and the chicken tender breading is a hit or miss. There was a time we ordered the kid's chicken tenders and the breading just peeled off. However, on our most recent visit, the breading was perfect. My favorite item to order is the waffle fries! They are light, crispy, and stay crunchy! It tastes fresh (not using old oil) when frying. We'll continue to come because my kid loves the Kids Meal Chicken Strips. It comes with a juice, fries, and sauce choice. She prefers these strips over the ones at the park. The waffle fries reign above all! This is a quick service spot where you order at the counter and take the tracker to the table. It's nice they bring the food to you.

Killing time for our flight back home. This place is brand spanking new. Ambiance Very clean, bright colors pop. Customer Service Very polite, brought food to our table. Original Fried Chicken Food came out hot. Crispy chicken not greasy. The spicy mayo and hot honey works. Brioche bun fresh. A bit expensive at $16 but everything at Downtown Disney is, par for the course.

I was in the mood for fried chicken and so disappointed in the Pyms Kitchen. The menu is simple and the pricing is reasonable. The Marketplace has a shared indoor dining tables with Seouls. The table was clean. There are just 2 bathrooms so you may have to wait. First glance at the fries I was sceptable and then first bite confirmed it. The fries didn't have any color because it wasn't fully cooked. I thought it was just in my mind but at that price I wasn't going to eat raw potatoes. I took them back and asked for a replacement. They did and this time the fries were cooked. They have this herby salty seasoning which is unique. The chicken was fried well as it was not over cooked not dry at all. It was a decent thick piece of chicken which hit the spot for me. It could have used a bit more coleslaw. The OG chicken sandwhich also had a good flavor and fried just right. Definitely a return place.

Was it the best fried chicken sandwich I've ever had? No, but it was good. I ordered the Original chicken sandwich with waffle fries. The chicken was crispy and tender. Not dry like other reviews are saying. Maybe I got lucky. But the waffle fries! Those were hard to eat because they were too crispy. It wasn't burnt but hard to eat. Was it worth the price? No. I would recommend Earl's Sandwiches over this place for sure.

The picture of the chicken sandwich does not quiet match what you get. This recently shop opened in downtown Disney. I love the concept. I don't love the price hike. All you get is a chicken sandwich for 18.99. The original chicken sandwich was spicy! I like my heart but my hubby doesn't. They have a spicy chicken sandwich as well. I wonder if it would be worst. The chicken sandwich was OK. I don't think it was worth $18. We also got the elotes. I liked it, my hubby thought it had a kick. I didn't mind it. Service was just Ok. You don't get the option to do take out. They hand you a beeper and ask you to sit upstairs where there's someone to wait on you. You can order upstairs as well which I would think makes it a longer process.

    Chicken tenders and fries

This place was terrible. The chicken tenders don't even taste like chicken tenders. It's super bitter! The fries said it would have seasoning but they tasted like nothing. AND they forgot my drink. They also upcharged my cousin when she tried ordering the same thing! Never eat here because it is terrible. I had my friends taste it and they said it tasted like rubber!! It is disgusting.

No lines. You can go to any kiosk and order from whichever shop you want to buy from. Service was great. Lots of room to sit, but the chicken sandwich just wasn't great. We also got the frozen lemonade which was so overly sweet that we had to toss it.

This mini food hall is super cute and GG's Chicken Shop is a good option (there are only a few anyway). I ordered a salad and added fried chicken because I wanted to try the chicken. Everything was really good, but was surprised that the salad came in a box like it was prepared way ahead of time. It was still good, though, as was the chicken. I suggest taking your food up to the second floor bar area; there are tables that are in the open-air area and overlook the area below, and there is often a band playing live music.

Want to say that the food is 3 stars per yelp scale. Original fried chicken sandwich was very crispy with its coating. The meat is chicken breast and a little dry. Fries were decently seasoned with their GG's dry rub. If you opt to pay for their garlic ranch, it is garlicky. Rating comes down to a 2 star rating if you factor in the prices. It's $18 for the sandwich and $8 for the fries. I did get a hard cider for $12 from one of the other shops, so I ended up spending $50 for this combo. If you eat on the 2nd floor of the food court, then you get table service for all of the stores in the food court, which is convenient. The convenience of that makes a case for an upgrade to 3 stars, but it's not quite there for me.

Very expensive and small portion for the price you pay. Ordered the ranch fried chicken and waffle fries. It was not anything special and I was surprised at how small everything was considering the chicken sandwich was already $18.00 and the waffle fries was $8.00. Totally not worth it. Service was good and fast though and a lot of open tables.

From the jump, my friends and I felt so welcome, all thanks to our man Jake, who so attentively took our order. This man was such a vibe and provided top-tier customer service in spite of being short staffed. He always had a smile on this face and handled everything so well, especially the 11pm rush that came shortly after we ordered. I can write so much more about him, but he honestly set the stage for what I think of the best dining establishments I've ever been to. Shoutout Jake! The food? No notes. It was tasty, scrumptious, divine, exquisite, all of the above. That food was made with love and care -- shoutout to the kitchen staff! I got the crispy chicken sandwich and woah, what a revelation! Eggplant on the sandwich? Such a game changer, like some next level stuff here honestly. My friend got a burger and oh my god, I only had one bite, but it was honest to god one of the best burgers I've ever had in my life. My other friends got chicken tenders. Tender doesn't just describe the chicken but also the souls who prepared and served this amazing platter. They honestly put every other chicken tender I've had to shame, I'm afraid I won't ever have another chicken tender without comparing it to YoYos. Sides were scrumptious and the sauces that came with them were so good too. I don't know how they did it, but the soft drinks had something special too. Nothing disappointed, I'm telling you! I wish I took more photos of the food but it was just so good that I didn't have time for that. I had such an emotional experience eating here, and I wasn't under the influence or anything -- it was just that good! I could preach to the choir and write a whole song (maybe album) about how amazing my experience was here. It was so magical, I nearly cried thinking about how lucky I was to eat here and break bread with friends. I live in west LA and I would honestly drive however long it takes, even in traffic, just to eat here again. It was simply that good. It's one of those places that you just can't gatekeep because I honestly think a visit here would heal so many traumas and bad days. This was the perfect end to a day with friends, and I will be coming back sometime soon. You will not regret coming here, I guarantee it! If you do, I just think you're lying for clout because I firmly believe this place could not disappoint anyone! P.S. just in case I didn't highlight Jake enough, I need everyone to know that he is the man! The experience would be nothing if it weren't for him. P.S. again: if I were on death row or another situation with a "last meal" type of arrangement, YoYos would need to be a part of that final meal so that I could die so happy and enlightened

In now way a deal-breaker, but be aware you may have to be creative to find a parking spot. The restaurant itself is simple and unremarkable. Seven or so tables will likely accomodate 40 or so people. What we were not prepared for was how the food makes you completely forget about the spartan seating area. After being greeted by a friendly manager (I apologize for not getting his name), we decided on the FireFly burger and the double Smashburger. We rounded out the meal with fries and drinks. Oh. My. Fries have a unique seasoning that seperates them froom most other burger joint fries. Absolutely delicious!
