The place is inside in Downtown Disney so expect a lively environment with music playing and a great spot to sit with friends and enjoy your food and conversation. Came here because I needed to give my body some sort of protein after stuffing myself with carbs and sugar all day, and GG's chicken had great options! I got the grilled chicken sandwich and their crispy brussel sprouts. The grilled chicken I got on my sandwich was extremely small, I had a whole lot of bun left after I finished having the chicken, but it was pretty good. The sauce they put on the sandwich was really good. The standout of this place for mw were the brussel sprouts, who would've thought!! They had a slight kick to it, but the flavor was amazing and they were cooked to perfection! Beware, I think they are fried, so they are pretty oily, but I thought it was a great option if you wanted a side other than fries. It's a great addition to have a casual eatery amongst all the long line restaurants here! There wasn't a line when we first got there, so ordering was pretty easy. They hand you a buzzer to place on your table, so no need to pick up the food. I got the Original Fried Chicken and my bf ordered The California salad. The portion sizes were actually pretty big for the price here, so it seemed pretty reasonable! The chicken was really thick, and the salad came with a variety of items. My bf's sister also ordered the same fried chicken that I did, but I noticed her had cabbage, pickles, etc. I checked mines and to my surprise, I basically only had the bun, chicken, and spicy mayo... There was nothing else at all to my sandwich. I then went up to the cashier and actually showed them my sandwich and they were also surprised mines didn't come with cabbage, pickles, etc.... so they gave me a new one and tossed my old sandwich (which I totally wouldn't have mind keeping it lol). So I got a new sandwich of the Original Fried Chicken. After trying my second sandwich.. the main difference was that it had hot honey, cabbage, and pickles. This sandwich overall tasted a lot sweeter? I wasn't too fond of the hot honey, and it made me actually appreciate the first sandwich I had LOL Also, the chicken and batter was more 'separated', so it wasn't as meaty as the first one I had. So oddly enough, I liked my accidental sandwich better than my actual one haha. Generally, the sauce is pretty overpowering and makes it more sweet than savory. Finally got around to trying GG's Chicken Shop in Downtown Disney. It's located inside of the new Parkside Market and is definitely a solid quick service option at the Disneyland Resort. There are several places to sit inside to enjoy your meal. However, with the newly reimagined Downtown Disney, there is also a plethora of places close by to enjoy your food outside. The inside of the Parkside Market is new and well-maintained. We came in for lunch on a weekday in the early summer. The line to order was minimal and the food was ready within a reasonable time. Our order consisted of an - Original Fried Chicken Sandwich - Sweet Chili Fried Chicken Sandwich - waffle fries To our surprise, the quality of the sandwich was really, really good. Competitive to other chicken sandwich spots outside of the Disney bubble. Flavors were on point and the chicken on each sandwich was crispy and flavorful. The only downside for us was the price, but it was expected based on its location. They did honor the Magic Key discount when we asked. We would definitely return to GG's Chicken Shop in the future while visiting the Disneyland Resort. A fantastic, quality addition to Downtown Disney. There was a time we ordered the kid's chicken tenders and the breading just peeled off. However, on our most recent visit, the breading was perfect. My favorite item to order is the waffle fries! They are light, crispy, and stay crunchy! It tastes fresh (not using old oil) when frying. We'll continue to come because my kid loves the Kids Meal Chicken Strips. I was in the mood for fried chicken and so disappointed in the Pyms Kitchen. The menu is simple and the pricing is reasonable. The Marketplace has a shared indoor dining tables with Seouls. The table was clean. There are just 2 bathrooms so you may have to wait. First glance at the fries I was sceptable and then first bite confirmed it. The fries didn't have any color because it wasn't fully cooked. I thought it was just in my mind but at that price I wasn't going to eat raw potatoes. I took them back and asked for a replacement. They did and this time the fries were cooked. They have this herby salty seasoning which is unique. The chicken was fried well as it was not over cooked not dry at all. It was a decent thick piece of chicken which hit the spot for me. It could have used a bit more coleslaw. The OG chicken sandwhich also had a good flavor and fried just right. Sadly this shop was not as good as the pictures looked. The shop is located within a mini food plaza and has good seating, air conditioning and complimentary water and bathrooms. Service was amazing. The person who took my order was enthusiastic and accommodating. But note they are strict on that child policy for kids meals. Unfortunately the worst part about this experience was the food. The chicken in particular was extremely salty and the batter seemed like some sort of starch that lingered in your mouth. Usually my favorite part of a fried chicken is the crispy skin, but this skin was crumbly and extremely oily. I ended up just peeling the batter off and eating the chicken. Batter also might not be seasoned consistently with some patches tasting bland. I truly do not understand the amount of hate GG's Chicken Shop gets. The delicious sandwiches don't skimp on the meat, which in and of itself isn't dry despite the humongous size. The coating hits the perfect goldilocks ratio of preparation with it not being so crispy that it breaks your jaw or cuts your gums, nor do you get any sense of a mouth full of wet batter. I get the complaint people have about the price of just a sandwich, with the sides costing extra. Everyone just has to consider that given the crazy renovations and rent that occurred at this space, they're already likely operating on thin margins with the sandwich alone. My recommendation for the owners though is to just charge $1-3 extra and throw in the extra fries to make it a combo. That way the masses don't really perceive they're buying two items, but just one meal overall. read more

Everything was really good, but was surprised that the salad came in a box like it was prepared way ahead of time. It was still good, though, as was the chicken. Want to say that the food is 3 stars per yelp scale. Original fried chicken sandwich was very crispy with its coating. The meat is chicken breast and a little dry. Fries were decently seasoned with their GG's dry rub. If you opt to pay for their garlic ranch, it is garlicky. Rating comes down to a 2 star rating if you factor in the prices. It's $18 for the sandwich and $8 for the fries. I did get a hard cider for $12 from one of the other shops, so I ended up spending $50 for this combo. If you eat on the 2nd floor of the food court, then you get table service for all of the stores in the food court, which is convenient. The convenience of that makes a case for an upgrade to 3 stars, but it's not quite there for me. read more

We were told we could also order from the other restaurants on the same tab so we asked for the mini beef bowl from Seoul Sister under the kids' menu. The cashier looked at my husband and I and said but that's just for kids. Um, RUDE! I've never had issues ordering the kids portion at any of the Disneyland Resort restaurants and I found it very rude that the cashier didn't want to sell it to me because I did not have a child in front of them. I could have said, "Well she's with Grandma," but decided not to escalate it further and opted to just pay for the chicken sandwich. Luckily, they take the Magic Key Discount here so we got 20% off of our food. We were given a buzzer and were told that we needed to place the buzzer on the pad on the middle of the table. The chicken sandwich that arrived was not hot, but rather warm. It had been sitting wrapped for a bit I guess but the breading was good and the spice level mild enough for my sort-of-spice loving husband. The employees could use a lesson in Disney magic here.
