We had an amazing experience at Giant Crab! If you're looking for an all-you-can-eat seafood buffet with a huge selection, this is the place to go. Everything we tried was fresh, hot, and constantly being replenished. There were so many great options that everyone in our group found plenty to enjoy. The highlight of our visit was our server, Angela. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made sure our drinks stayed full and our table was always cleared quickly. Even though the restaurant was busy, she checked on us often and made us feel genuinely welcome. Her outstanding service made an already great meal even better. There are too many good restaurants to eat at when visiting Myrtle Beach. The food, like at any buffet, is made in mass quantities and hardly ever fresh. The "hook" is all you can eat crab legs. They don't have any flavor and the artificial drawn butter tastes like old cooking oil. Nothing special about the look and feel of the restaurant. It is designed to set a lot of people and get them fed. Sometimes it is good to hit a buffet if you have children, nothing special here. Have no complaints about the service; all they really need to do is get a drink order and point to the food. Our 2nd seafood buffet at NBM! Tip: Check their website for coupons if going in the first two hours of operation! (Present coupon on arrival, I also heard of military discount, but we used the coupon online instead) We were seated immediately on arrival. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. Always there when we needed him. Plenty of food options on the buffet. Hibachi was an awesome touch for the non seafood eaters. Website mentioned a pasta bar, but my husband couldn't figure it out (didn't see pasta or where to tell chef what to make) Sadly website also mentioned butterfly shrimp and oysters Rockefeller, these weren't available today either. This place was "ok." Definitely feel like there are better Buffets on the strip. Nice that there is something for everyone but there are hits and misses. If you are a meat eater you can find another place that serves better quality. Hibachi was a little below average and the meats here all had a weird taste to them. The fish dishes were great and they had an excellent lobster bisque (one of the best I had in while actually) Salad bar was weak, that for sure could have been better. I enjoyed the crab legs but I must say I have had better, but I did like that someone was there to hand them out the tongs so people don't stuff their plates with them where you need to wait for the next batch. Plenty of desserts to choose from but I of course just enjoyed my soft served ice cream in a cone. It had a fun atmosphere with plenty to look at outside and cute little fish tank inside. This place was AMAZING!! I'm not a fan of seafood, but my family is, so we ended up here. I wasn't expecting to enjoy it, but I LOVED it. They have non-seafood options too, like fruit, bread, fries, etc. They also have a huge desert sections (ice cream, cupcakes, pudding, cookies etc.) It's decorated very nicely and they have lovely fishtanks. Where we were seated we could see water, which is super cool. There was a rooster and hens outside for some reason but it was cool! (photos below) Our waiter Julian was great!! This was our last meal of our vacation in beautiful Myrtle Beach. Oh, what a trip it was. And I don't believe we could've picked a more perfect restaurant to close out this trip. It's like every part of the buffet had a connection to our beach vacation. The pasta station made was the pool at our resort. Love it, just can't have too much of it because it becomes filling so fast and you don't want to ruin your meal or trip. The hibachi station was the resort itself. Big and beautiful. So many options, from steak and chicken, to shrimp and scallops. It reminded me of all the different rooms and hangout spots in the resort. The prime rib station was the beach. The beach is always the best part about going to the beach. Relaxing. Warm, but breezy. The ability to lounge out and listen to the squawking seagulls and the crashing waves. Very reminiscent of the crispy crusted, tender meated, au jus wetted, prime rib. Oh, this prime rib was the star of the show. Aces. 10's. The dime piece on my plate. The food I'd takeout for a date. So wonderful. The mini stations included raw bar, crab and lobster, fried fish and chicken, side plates, salad bar, and desserts. This area is like all of the little shopping centers around Myrtle. We didn't have to eat any of it, but you always have to stop in to take a look. The staff were very friendly, and quick to assist with any questions or needs. You can't ignore the awesome decor of this place with the giant crab and ship out front. There was also live music. Great atmosphere. Great people. Went with a couple friends for all you can eat crab legs. Food was pretty mid but the crab legs were delicious! The atmosphere was beachy and cozy! Our servers were really helpful and kept our drinks full and table cleaned. There are other better seafood places out there but we wanted the crab legs and they didn't disappoint. Si suprised this place only has 3 stars. I have been going here for years now the buffet has so many options, including crab legs like how could you not love it?! This was a great spot to entertain visitors. Our first time here and we were pleasantly impressed. The service was very attentive and genuinely caring about our experience. We filled out the survey and recieved a nice letter and coupon to return. A nice touch and very infrequent gesture in today's world. It's the same as every other buffet on the strip ... quantity over quality, some overcooked, all bulk food under heat lamps. Crab legs were cooked to the point of the shells being rubbery ... no 'snap' when you try to shell them. Etc. The high price assures a strong profit margin because most customers will never eat their money's worth. If you just like stuffing yourself with whatever, then go for it. read more

Locals told me the Giant Crab is where they go for super seafood and Prime Rib buffet style. We have since gone there several times and EVERY time has been fabulous! We even drive up from Myrtle Beach State Park and Pirateland (passing MANY seafood buffets)! The food is just super; servers always super; clean bathrooms... Get there before 530 and save $6! THIS IS A TOURIST TRAP. I strongly recommend going literally anywhere else for dining because this place is such a SCAM in my opinion! I went to this restaurant with my parents about two years ago, and I'll never forget it. It was nothing like what we expected. When I went there for dinner, they charged nearly $50 PER PERSON, and they don't tell you that it costs that much until you sit down. Unfortunately, we decided to give it a chance anyway. The insane price includes a buffet, but I'm pretty sure drinks cost extra. In my opinion, the food in the buffet looked as though it had been sitting out all day, or at least for a number of hours. I remember getting pizza & some types of seafood that I couldn't even finish because they just weren't good. (My parents similarly did not enjoy the food because it wasn't fresh or good.) Also, the experience was just cheap, in my opinion. Not worth the price at all. For example, I remember that the utensils were flimsy plastic & the napkins were cheap paper. I know that probably sounds petty, but if I'm paying $50 a person, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect higher quality utensils, napkins & an overall higher quality experience. I feel bad for the staff because they seemed very nice, and the live music was nice, but if you put lipstick on a pig, that doesn't change the fact that a pig is still a pig, in my opinion. Also, you can tell this is a tourist trap in my opinion because it was a maze inside the building, which actually made it difficult to leave the restaurant! You couldn't leave the place without going through the very skinny room with their overpriced gift shop. In my opinion, they did this to make it more difficult for tourists to leave. I know other places create their layouts to encourage certain customer behavior, but this was the worst example of it that I've ever seen. There are so many amazing restaurants in Myrtle Beach that will give you a great dining experience -- like Chuck's Steakhouse, which is right next door to this place! Please don't waste your money with this. You deserve better. read more

Very rudely as-well, and when she respectfully changed her top to something deemed "more appropriate" to the staff, they laughed and mocked her. This is public embarrassment, and absolutely disgusting behavior from the staff towards a customer nonetheless. I come here solely because it was my father's favorite place at the beach before he passed so I keep it alive. The buffet has a good variety and the food is ok. Please don't waste your time at this place! Be warned! Most of the food on buffet you could tell had been sitting for a good amount of time. We should've left then but didn't. It was disgusting.
