Brentwood doesn't have a donut shop and I was craving (You know, those pregnancy cravings that just need to fill or someone is going to get hurt?) a donut that wasn't from Safeway so I went to the place I knew would direct me in the right directions... Yelp. Giant Donuts has great reviews so I loaded up the car and went looking for the amazing donuts. We knew we made the right decision when we saw that the line was almost out the door. I had to have the apple fritter and DH got an assortment of cake donuts as well as some donut holes. This is the place to go people! read more

I've been supporting this small business forever! It's my family's favorite and for at least the past 20 years, they've never changed. Even traveling across the country 3 times, I have yet to find better donuts. They're a local favorite and they fulfill every sweet tooth craving when my taste buds are looking for something soft, fluffy, and perfectly sugary. The owners and staff have always been kind too. The prices are great and I highly recommend the chocolate bars and boston cream donuts! read more

Little mom and pop shop that opens up really early! Was my first time coming here but something about this place felt so nostalgic. They also have ice cream available. Their donuts are about average size and are tasty. The lady was nice especially when I couldn't make up my mind. read more

This used to be a good spot to stop by and grab coffee, until I learned today if you want vanilla creamer you have to pay $0.10 per pod. This is free at other doughnut spots. Looks like I will start getting coffee at Sunshine in Brentwood or Antioch. read more

Came here a few times. Only a few selections of donuts and they taste pretty good. Basic but simple. There are tables and chairs if you want to sit and eat, but we usually just grab and go. Friendly staff. Nice and small shop. read more

Had my aunt pick up some donuts for my daughters birthday party. They taste way better. They were even packed nicely. I've gotten donuts before and places don't care. We even got donuts late in the day, so pleased with giant donuts. read more

I have a tasting rule when it come to Donuts and pastries. I will take a bite to see whether or not its worth the extra cals and when it comes to Donuts it either passes and gets devoured, or fails and gets tossed....in this case, the donuts were not bad, just not worth sacrificing the extra cals. Living in Brentwood I am limited to just a minimal selection of bakeries and Donut shops (which may be a good thing) so after some Yelp research, this place appeared to be the only Donut shop close by that actually had some decent reviews....but than again, being the only donut shop around, leaves it with no other places to be compared to. The place is small with a very scarce amount of seating. I really wanted a chocolate old fashioned donut which I could see that they only had the plain so, I asked if they had any coming out which the lady behind the counter said "no, though, she would be able to make one". I was a little hesitant at first, but figured what the heck. The donut arrived moments later dripping in chocolate and literally looked like melting cake frosting. I also got one other sprinkled chocolate donuts just to have in case the other one failed, as is it appeared that it was heading in that direction. So yes, chocolate old fashioned tasted pretty blah, and of course the fact that the chocolate was still warm did not help. The other donut too taste and texture wise, was nothing worth continuing to eat. Guess my search for a worthy donut shop in this area continues! read more

I'm not a huge fan of sweets. Okay, I've said it. I don't like ice cream. I don't like cake. I don't like cookies. I don't like candy. There's more to my "don't like" sweets list, but I won't bore you with my oddities. There's only a handful of sweets that make the cut. Doughnuts are one. This is my doughnut place. After a long work week, I treat myself to Giant Donuts. If I'm particularly irritated and it's "that time of the month", it's Giant Donuts for me. When the kids want doughnuts, you know... I go to Giant Donuts. These are probably hands down the best doughnuts you'll find in the far East Bay. And... the only doughnuts I'll eat now. I've tried several of their doughnuts, but always gravitate towards the chocolate bars. Beware. The line is often to the door, so be prepared to wait. But really, aren't all good things worth waiting for? read more

Just picked myself up a glazed cinnamon roll and the man toy got his fave white icing with sprinkles and two glazed... Nothing more staisfying than donuts on a lazy Saturday morning.... Aside from Giant Donuts being the only Donut place near Brentwood, this place is great. You always have the typical "crew" that hangs out there every weekend sitting and chatting with the Asian owner. Went to try their donuts. Didn't even walk in the door. First thing I saw when heading in was an employee not wearing a mask behind the counter where the food was. She was maybe 50-60 with short hair. Will not be spending my money at a place that doesn't care for their customers safety. Makes me wonder what other health codes they are skimping on. read more

What I love about this place is how early it opens up. Right at 5am they are ready with coffee, donuts galore and a warm smile. Their donuts are better than any donuts you will eat anywhere else and the prices fit right into the cheaply reasonable bracket. What I love though is that they make donuts throughout the day. They don't make it just once in the morning and then they're done and you're left to fend for yourself with donuts you don't want at odd hours. This place never puts you through that mental strain. They never do wrong to your hunger needs. I have never had a bad donut experience ever in 10+ years. Never. I've never gotten a bad one. I've never gotten a suspect one. I'm the type of person where one food experience ruins the place for me and I've never had one. So I'm a bit suspicious now, do they make their donuts with magic? No. They make it with love and that's why their donuts are moist and light, filling and yummy, tasty and just right. They never overdo it. Everything is just right. My favorites to get are: x DONUT HOLES: They're pretty huge for a donut hole and glazed perfectly so that when you eat it, it almost melts in your mouth.. but not because it's a donut and that would be weird. x APPLE FRITTERS: They don't overuse the cinnamon at all. It's just enough to season the apples (which is just enough and never too much) and it picks apart so easily. The fritter sizes range. Sometimes you can get a giant one and sometimes you can get a medium giant one. Never seen them sell a tiny apple fritter before. I don't think it's possible. x OLD FASHIONED DONUT. If you can't make one of those, the donut business in my eyes, isn't for you. It's the classic and I always make certain to get more than one when I come here. It's light, airy, moist, with a bit of a sugary crunch that is so innately satisfying you'll be kicking yourself as of to why you didn't purchase more. Also, there is seating outside but sometimes can be limited due to the amount of people that love getting their donuts here, but they have a great selection on drinks ranging from chocolate milk to orange juice. You know, the breakfast classics. Their coffee for me, is a bit strong and they also serve ice cream with slight eccentric flavors for the kids. By eccentric I mean bubblegum because when you're a kid and you've only ever eaten vanilla, bubblegum ice cream is eccentric and amazzzinnng. read more

Never had a better donut. Literally world class. A gem, hiding out in Oakley. They are light and fluffy like Krispy Kreme, but they have an added dimenson of lightly chewy, doughy, almost creaminess. Perfected donut. Quick tip: ask for the freshest batch. They come hot out of the kitchen, still warm & snuggly when you bite. Talk about comfort food! Yeee-um!!! read more

I've known about this place for a long time but had never really stopped by. My new found growing baby belly had me on auto pilot for donuts this morning! Personally I am not a huge fan of Krispy Kreme as most of their donuts are too sweet for me. I don't like zero sweet but, I don't like overly sweet. I ordered a jelly filled, a chocolate iced, a cinnamon twist, and an apple turn over. In my opinion they have a great mix for a range of sweetness pallets. The iced chocolate was perfect! Amazing and airy, light, and chocolatey! The service was also amazing. They were out of jelly filled however; they had some just out of the oven. They were kind enough to fill just one for my order on the fly! Excellent donuts and great service! I'll be back! read more

I really hate having to wait to get my order remade and having an extra drink that's not needed and most of the time goes to waste. All I ask is to make the drink correctly for how it was ordered because I'm sure it causes stress for the folks that are having to remake the drinks when they have other orders to also work on, as well as the customers who pay for one thing and end up with something else.

Instead of addressing my question, the person I spoke with seemed more concerned about asking, "How did you get this phone number?" That interaction felt unprofessional and dismissive. My second visit wasn't much better. My friend and I walked in, and the cashier didn't greet us or acknowledge that she'd be with us shortly. She was making another drink, looked over at us, then looked away, and we waited about five minutes without any acknowledgment. When the customer she was helping came up to pick up their drink, she took the time to have a brief conversation with them while we continued waiting to order. When she finally came over, there was no apology for the wait or even a simple "Hi, how are you?"--just, "What can I get you?" The coffee may be good, but customer service plays a big role in the overall experience. Based on my two visits, I think there's a lot of room for improvement in how customers are welcomed and treated. Unfortunately, these interactions have made me hesitant to return.

I came back specifically for their hot Thai tea--it's only $3.50 for a generous, great-sized cup, and it is absolutely delicious. The gentleman at the counter is incredibly friendly and crafts every single drink with so much care. On my first visit, I ordered a cappuccino, a hazelnut latte, and a hot Thai tea. I actually got lucky that day because a previous customer had left a "pay it forward" in their menu; so one of my drinks was free! I made sure to pay it forward as well for the next person. I love that they encourage that kind of community vibe. Tip: They do have parking, but keep your eyes peeled because it's on a busy street and can be easy to miss. I highly recommend checking this place out. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu!

Best joint to get donuts! Always giant and fluffy. I've gone to other shops around Pittsburg and Antioch, and they can't compare to these. Best time to grab them is early around 7am.. with a nice Nestle chocolate milk and a glazed one, you'll have a good start to your morning. Don't have any complaints, except that one time I got like 5 hour old donuts, (I was used to warm and fluffy). Lol. read more
