Let me tell you my awesome experience with Giant RV. My toyhauler was vandalized by some hippies out in the burning man concert. When I received it back it did not look nothing like I had it before. Filed an insurance claim and they instructed me to take it to the nearest shop. I called Mike Thompson Rv which was the place were I bought it, and they told me that there was a three week waiting list to have my trailer looked at for an estimate. So I called Giant RV and they told me to bring it in and they would take a look at it. I drove it in on a Saturday and was greeted at the parts/service department my a very well and professional gentleman. I explained to him my needs and told him it was an insurance claim, he did the inspection and I explained what needed to be done to the toyhauler. He listened to my needs and took it in. On Monday I got a call my a representative from Giant RV by the name of CARLOS VILLAREAL, Carlos explained the process of how it was going to work and the time frame. The insurance company dragged their feet but Carlos went above and beyond to work with them. He would stay in communication with the insurance company and myself. When the time cam to deliver the insurance did not cover some items and Carlos was a hero again and pulled through. He ended up helping with alot of items that were not covered by the insurance to reduce the cost and the bill. The day I finally picked up my toyhauler once it was fixed I did not even recognize it. The toyhauler kokonas good as the day I bought it. The team went above and beyond with the quality work. Everything got fixed like the way I wanted it to. I was very satisfied with the good work and would highly recommend you guys to take your toyhauler and RV's to this place and ask for Carlos Villarreal. read more

GIANT HEADACHE!! They were very non responsive and I have over a dozen emails reflecting lack of response. Many messages left with receptionist not returned. Then when they did respond, they were vague and non committed to answer my questions. Worst part after a 6 month wait. When I picked up my vehicle, The repairs and replacements seemed correct upon first picking up my RV. But I soon learned after taking a few trips, not all items were fixed correctly, I spoke with one of their VP's three different times and she assured me she would get me some help. NO HELP AT ALL!! We had a great experience with Giant RV in Downey. Our sales consultant was Steven Katz AKA Katz. We first him met him at an RV show and he was the most knowledgeable person we ran into at the show. He knew all the features of the trailer that we were interested in (Rockwood Mini Lite 2104s) and was able to explain all of its benefits. We had a Class C motorhome that we needed to sell to make the purchase of the trailer possible and he was able to make the arrangements for us to trade it in which gave us great comfort in ordering the trailer (just after ordering the trailer and before taking delivery of the trailer we were able to sell the motorhome to a friend of ours). Our pickup truck needed to be wired to be able to tow a trailer and he was able to make those arrangements though Giant RV along with selecting the best hitch and brake controller for our vehicle. Katz kept us updated on the progress of the trailer as it was being built. We also had a great experience with the person that handled the walk through of the trailer before taking possession of the trailer. His name was Dan. Dan explained every system of the trailer. Even though we had RVs in the past Dan was able to teach us several new things in the process of the walk through. After completing the purchase we have received several text messages from Katz just wanting to make sure that everything was going good with the trailer. My wife and I are in the market for a Class B RV, and our first trip in was ok. They assign a salesperson to you as soon as you walk in to the showroom. The operation wreaks of a used car lot, but, the salesperson was pleasant and we left on good terms. The follow-up, not so good. We expressed exactly what we were looking for and our timeframe. It looks like they have some sort of BDC (in the car industry, they do a lot of the leg work for their sales guys to warm leads, etc). The lady called me and then I got a call from the salesperson right after that. I let the salesperson know to send me some pictures and some info on the RV he was calling me about, but I got nothing from him, and the nightmare began. Everyday since that day, I have been getting a call from Giant RV. By day 3, I blocked them on my phone so it goes directly to my voicemail. The following week, they decided to call me from a different line and I picked up just to tell them to stop calling because I will not do business with them. So, the bottomline, unless you want to be hounded and harrassed on the phone daily from this dealership, there's a lot of reputable dealers out there with better business practices. read more

My wife and I bought a Brand new Rockwood 2509S from giant RV Downey we ordered it New Year's Day at the RV show, they gave us a great deal and were really pleasant to work with, our main sales person Katz was fantastic he kept us informed for the eight weeks that we waited for the trailer to be built and delivered and even came in on his day off to be there when we picked it up and he really went the extra mile ,it's really nice to make a purchase this important and have the support from someone like him. Not only was Katz great but everyone else we dealt with at giant RV was fantastic and they really took their time on the walk-through. I like that they have a big selection to chose from, what is not acceptable is the lack of customer service, the sales ppl should have some knowledge of what they are selling. This happened to me at the Downey location with Peter. Their questioning is like harassment. They make you uncomfortable. It's not the lack of finances. It's the attitude and this person didn't even know the size or price, it felt like they don't want ppl there. They have a lot of complaints at the Better Business Bureau. I really wanted to give a great review for this place since our experience with initially purchasing the RV was great, and their reviews were generally good on yelp. However, like many businesses, once the sale was done, we heard crickets... We initially were just browsing inventory because we finally decided we wanted a small RV to go camping in regularly even during extreme weather. We had set aside some of our savings and gave ourselves a price limit... when we walked in to Giant RV, the selection was much better than we expected. We had Tyler as our salesman and he showed us some models in our price range. Ultimately, we were won over by a small entry level Winnebago. After deposit, we scheduled a pick up to finalize paperwork and loan documents etc a week later. We paid for extra warranty packages etc so we could feel our investment was protected. I mean, buying an RV is almost like buying a Tiny House, it's cheaper than a house but still a big chunk of funds. We had the RV for 2 days and we decided to show it off to friends... well, we got stuck for hours in the middle of the night on a Sunday after we just got it because a stabilizer jack would not lift. Plus, we got the run around with the emergency numbers we were given because they were not sure we could get it towed with the jack down. We eventually got home after desperately calling a friend to help us and we found out that the overriding system had been tampered with and broke before we even tried to use it. Later, we found out that the issue was in fact pre-existing which we felt should have been clearly stated to us when we bought it. Plus, during the week wait upon our initial pick up, this could have been fixed. Now, I'm already owing our first payment but I haven't enjoyed one real night in the RV and it's been sitting in their shop for 2 weeks without any work because it's pending... we were told it could be a quick fix. We have since learned that RVs typically will have issues the first year, however, at this point, we have owned it for almost 3 weeks but we have driven it once aside from taking it home. If you see most of my reviews, I rarely give a low star rating but I really feel we are being shove aside when this could have been addressed much more professionally given our situation. read more

I walked into Giant RV thinking I was going to do a couple walk through a to see what I would like and for best for my family. We were greeted by Lenin who walked us through, discussed THOROUGHLY the pros and cons of each trailer. Lenin is very educated and knows his stuff. We had TONS of questions and Lenin was very patient, before we knew it we spent the entire afternoon there amongst a new friend and didn't just walk through trailers...we bought one! The sales rep was knowledgeable in all areas with regard to the inventory on his lot. "No" was not an answer, everything is possible at Giant RV. We reached their Finance department. There we had a more transparent experience and this is when things settled. Don't get me wrong, the consultant made all things right and we were at ease.. because I meN they need to get paid. On the day of pick-up we were again discouraged. You see, when we purchased the trailer the sales rep guaranteed the trailer would be ready by the day we wanted the trailer for (our annual family trip we had scheduled) and it was not ready. We waited all day and they went above and beyond. I could tell the departments were upset with one another but thats what happens when there is no communication. We left the lot late but we had our trailer. That day we met an awesome man who walked us through everything you need to know about the trailer in detail and this service was excellent. It was nice to see all faces involved in the transaction. The sales rep stopped by, the finance consultant, the parts personnel, and the inspection personnel. The inspection department identified that the awning came slightly damaged (worked but needed to be replaced) and said we should come back to have that replaced at no cost because it's under warranty, they would call us when it arrived to schedule an appointment for drop off. (Cool) When we received the call we were actually camping because I mean that's what you do when you have a trailer. In August, I called back and was transferred to Parts. Left a message. No call back. In November, called again and Parts mentioned the scheduler was gone for the day but would take down my message and I would get a call back. I asked him if he could please check for the part just to confirm that it was still there and he did and it was still there (Excellent)! No call back. I called back and was given an email for someone that might be able to help. No response and no call back. Two days ago, my husband gets someone on the phone in the Service department. She says the awning is going to be a cost out of pocket because her information shows we purchased a trailer that is no longer under warranty. Wrong, we purchased a 2024 model. Now we have to take time out of our schedules to get this sorted out, it's such a drag. She couldn't wait to get off the phone and just transferred my husband to the sales rep and he got his voicemail. They lack customer service and it's because of the lack of internal communication. Had water issue on the day I was picking it up brand new. They claim it was repaired and the first time I used it a puddle of water formed next the electrical panel. I got home, crawled under the rv only to find the bottom was cut open where the supposedly fixed it. There were wires hanging down so I secured them best I could and scheduled a service. 3 days in I received a text stating the parts came in, only to find out they didn't mean to text me. I contacted 3 times with no response and finally today got through. It has been there almost 3 weeks and they haven't even checked it yet. Giant rv is a joke, don't go there. As a sales person he was communicative, knowledgeable and quick to help find a hauler that suited our lifestyle and tow capacity. He was great. I said I understood accidents. I gave an opportunity to repair. It wasn't mentioned that it took three weeks for the repair only receiving communication when we called. Not someone calling us. Slicing the floor in a brand new trailer and gluing down with no warranty is not repairing a brand new trailer. And it wasn't a favor that the unit was swapped. It was when I spoke with a lawyer that the unit was swapped. 8 hours testing a generator is a lot different than 18. And the salesman delivered the remote to our home with the keys after the manager told us twice he would mail them and didn't. I have text messages so support all of this. Like I said. Covid happened. Accidents happened. Repairs happen. Your response can let anyone decide whatever they want to decide. I shared my experience. And you confirmed. That is all that is needed. We traded in our travel trailer for a toy hauler. The biggest "sell" was that they don't charge $500 for the walk through training and inspection like most dealers do. Theirs is free. Well, we got what we paid for. The technician had no idea about features in our trailer. We figured it was fine as we had a trailer before and could figure it out. He closed up and confirmed everything was locked. We drove home only to find out the table was not put away. It went through a wall and the flooring. The manager admitted negligence and promised to replace both the wall and the flooring. We went to pick up the unit after a couple of weeks to find they had only placed bondo on the hole in the floor, sliced through the laminate and glued it back down. There was no estimate repair time on the bathroom wall. We refused the trailer. After many calls we finally got the unit replaced with an identical, what we were told, new trailer. Only to take it home to find there was 18 hours already used on the generator along with personal bins. The trailer was used but falsely sold to us as new. It was missing a remote and keys which we could not get from the manager, obviously figuring out the prior owner kept them. The sales person, who scrambled every step of the way to try to resolve (thank you, Guy) went out and personally purchased both and drove them to our home. I understand short staff with covid. I understand delivery issues from covid. But covid has nothing to do with integrity. Dishonest business in an industry that is already known to struggle with customer service and service in general - I could not in good conscious send anyone I know here. They gave us a used unit and passed it as new to try and repair the damage they caused. This was a large family investment for us to spend time together and I am hoping with enough time the frustration will pass. But I cannot recommend enough for you to look to another dealer. Because if I can't get an honest deal from the owner himself who guaranteed the unit was new, what can you expect that from the rest of the company? read more

My wife and I have been thinking about buying a travel trailer for a few weeks, researching, checking out used offerings, asking friends/family, and checking out other dealerships. Today was just supposed to be another "research day", you know, a "let's check out what Giant has to offer", but, when we got to talking with a sales rep, Lenin, before we knew it, we were signing the paperwork on our brand new trailer. Lenin was super friendly and blunt (so refreshing), having both been in sales ourselves, we were very appreciative of someone taking an honest interest in what we were looking for rather than trying to sell us what he wanted us to buy. Lenin took the time (hours) to show us the full range of what our Tahoe could tow, even showed us some used options and explained EVERYTHING. I purchased a brand new Thor Super C in 2021. I was a newbie wanting to set out on adventures in a new rig. Like any new product, there were a few issues with a home on wheels. Our biggest issue was the full wall slide which appears to be a manufacture problem. The motors appear to be too small for the size and weight on the rails. That's my humble opinion. Be prepared for extended delays in your repairs due to the fact that many families, like mine, purchased new RV's due to the Covid outbreak. Maybe the hiring of additional service technicians could cut down on the service wait time. Walk Thru; The representative, Mr. Robert "Bob" Killeen, that showed us how to operate our RV was phenomenal. He was experienced and patient in demonstrating and explaining how to operate every function of the rig. As I indicated, I am a newbie, but I left the facility feeling I had a really good grasp and understanding should a problem arise. Bob also gave great advice when he told me to plan a local trips to work the out kinks. That advice worked out perfectly as a few minor issues came up which we were quickly able to rectify before setting our sails on a longer trip. Service and Repair; We were assigned to representative Mrs. Anita Scott for scheduling our service and repair. I cannot say enough great things about her. She too was knowledgeable, caring and empathetic with us. She always goes out of her way to assist in anyway possible. More importantly, she is always honest, straight forward and trustworthy. She is also prompt in returning my calls. Unfortunately, there has been unexpected delays when repairing my rig and she has been caught in the middle. She could hear the frustration in my voice, but it did not deter her from willing help. She is truly an exceptional representative of the facility whom I can't thank enough!!!! This will be the conclusion to my review of Giant RV Downey. We did wind up purchasing our class A RV from this dealership and are happy with the purchase, however the purchase process was very shady and I would never ever recommend using their service department. After looking at their inventory we found a unit that fit almost all of our needs. We left for the night and got I got a text from the sales rep. His text stated," my buddy is writing up a deal on the coach you wanted, if you want me to hold it I need your $5000. deposit and I can hold it for you". I don't know if that was true or not but it shows a clear flaw in someones character if they are willing to take someones dream away just so that he could line their pockets with commission money. The next morning the sales rep again sent me a text advising that the deal did not go through and the buyers did not qualify. He asked if I was still interested in the unit, I said yes and that I would try to return to give the RV another look. Later that same evening the sales rep again called my and said, "I have sent you some documents in your Email I just need your credit card number to hold this unit for you, will it be Master card or Visa I just need the number". Exactly at this point I got a notification on my phone that I had a new Email. I told the sales guy that we were out to dinner and that I would contact him afterwards. To my HORROR I later saw a receipt in my Email for a $5000.00 NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT and a Due Bill for nothing but a car wash. I was so glad that I did not give him my CC number. Understand that giving someone a due bill at this stage of the game is like giving a child candy when they have had no dinner, just very shady. The next day I returned to the dealership and had a face to face talk with this sales person and told him that these sort of underhanded tactics showed a lack of character and that was not to be tolerated. After inspecting the RV for several hours I spoke with the Sales Manager I did provide him with a deposit which we agreed would be refundable. Later I was contacted by the Sales Manager he asked that I have no additional contact with the sales person and that he would be my new point of contact. Like I said earlier I expected a better experience making and expensive purchase, but I felt like I was on a used car lot in El Monte, CA. As it turns out a sales man is a sales man. My suggestion for anyone looking to purchase an RV is to take your time and be sure of the purchase. If you notice Giant RV and lots of great reviews for its sales department and horrible reviews for their service department. If you take the time to think about it you will understand why that is. Walked into this location in Downey yesterday and was greeted by a young lady at the front desk... she asked how she could help me, I stated that I was looking at toy haulers and was it ok to look around? She stated that typically a salesman would walk around whit you ... again I asked if it was ok to just look around and she said yes. I'm now barely 30 feet in the showroom I'm in the back measuring the garage in a toy hauler.... I'm met by what I expect is a salesman. He ask what am I doing and then what I'm looking for , I responded that I'm looking at toy haulers he was quite apprehensive. I ask again is it ok to look around by myself? He answer's back NO! And I need to leave! As I'm leaving the show room absolutely dumbfounded ! I returned to his cubicle and ask for his name? He stated that he was the assistant manager and his name was Lewis he refused to home me his last name?!?!?! I ask if his manager was in today and he said he is sitting at the front of the store. I approached a man the Lewis pointed towards , I asked if was in fact the manager.. he stated that he was the manager (sorry no name) I then explained what had just happened. Then the manager stated that I look to be adult and of sound mind and that I now can look around!?!?! Thank you but no thank you!! The sales folks and management were great during the initial phase of the process. I explained to the manager this was going to be a once in a lifetime trip for our family. We were moving to the South and would be taking a 30-day trip across the country, my sons were headed off to college and it would be their last trip as children they would have with mom and dad. I asked if THOR was a reliable brand since I was coming from a Monoco which we loved and were stepping down to a Class C. I was assured this was a great motorhome. The purchase was completed, and I later picked up the unit several days prior to leaving the state. What happen next you cannot make up, I would say it's even hard to believe. We departed So Cal and headed north towards Lake Tahoe. About halfway up small items started to come apart. Not unusual for minor items in a new motorhome to have issues, you just have them serviced and move on. The small items continued to expand to larger items. It started with the frame around the TV coming apart, then the vent screens fell off, The bathroom door would not close because the supporting wall became loose, the interior shower wall was coming apart from the wall, the bathroom wall paper was peeling off, the floors were buckling while driving, the radio and rear camera stopped working, the rear window cover was broken and a few other items. All this before we even reached Lake Tahoe. I was thinking of turning back to Downey and returning the unit. However, this would of destroyed our trip, our reservations at multiple national parks would be lost and the arrival at our new home would also create logistical issues. We decided to press on and have these issues addressed at a THOR repair center elsewhere. That was my second major mistake. I should have returned to GIANT RV and demanded a new unit. The trip continued and the issues that happened next are the ones you could not make up. And the responses from THOR and GIANT RV or lack thereof is why I have finally taken the time to write these comments. We then proceeded towards Montana and arrived at Yellowstone. More issues continued to poor out. The emergency brake alarm kept sounding off while driving, with the red light indicating the brakes were on, the brakes were fine. This sound would come and go and last hours sometimes. I finally figured out if I held the emergency brake release and pulled on it while I drove with my other hand the sound would go away. As you can imagine this sound would drive anyone insane and holding it while steering was a major burden and not safe. As we slept in the unit in Yellowstone, we had the generator on with the AC on. My wife woke up and yelled for all of us to wake up. My kids woke up feeling noxious and one of my sons started to throw up. I initially thought maybe they started with the flu, then my wife yelled again and said to get out of the unit that she smelled something. 10 minutes later the carbon monoxide alarm went off. I opened all the windows and turned off the generator. I can go one for ever explaining it in a paragraph format, but I don't have time. I will add a few more issues in bullet points. * The rear bumper was loose * The tow hitch wiring according to a repair center in Oklahoma was wired wrong and loose, thus the reason for the tow lights not working. * A pipe connected to the propane system had apparently a broken valve which was causing leaking into the interior cab. It was replaced. This is what could of killed my entire family. * The pull out had a broken seal that was located next to the generator exhaust pipe which would allow exhaust into the cabin while we ran the AC when the pull out was extended. This caused us not to be able to use the pull out with the AC on. This was another potential deadly situation. (The list continues. I continued to attempt to contact THOR and Giant RV and nothing. I finally flew back to California and finally met with them. In conclusion they said they could not do anything that it was up to THOR. I had asked if there any THOR service center near Miami Florida when I purchased it. I was assured there were. It turned out to over 2 hours away. My RV was in service for 4 plus months. Apparently, it would have qualified for the lemon law had I removed it and taken it back several times. I instead continued to call as the challenges to repair the unit by the service continued. During this time I made my payments and now my wife does not want to be in the unit. She does not trust it, and I must agree with her. If THOR and Giant were concerned about this, they would take back this unit no further questions asked. Everything I have mentioned is documented and the time to repair these issues speaks for itself. I forgot to mention this was a complete disaster, so much that my boys begged to be dropped off at any airport. I took my RV to Giant RV due to a fire in the engine compartment. I was the second owner and the vehicle only had slightly over 3,000 miles and was one year old. To their credit, Giant RV asked Thor Industries to cover the cost and Thor did off warranty. If you want to be notified of the progress of your RV's work, forget it. My service advisor called me once in a 2 month period to let me know what was happening with my rig. I asked numerous times for paperwork that I signed and it was only after I contacted the Vice President of the company, that I received it, but it wasn't the paperwork showing the walk around my rig. I kept asking to talk to the Service Manager and kept getting transferred to another Service Advisor or a recording. My wife and I had a great experience at Giant RV. Justin was our sale guy , he was great. Very informative and helpful. Great follow up and went the extra mile. Our new RV is great, exactly what we wanted. My only complaint was with the service department. Our rig came with a prewire for a back up camera, so of course I bought the camera and had them install it. They screwed it on and plugged it in but did not check if it worked , baffles me. But I will be back to get some warranty work done. Let's see if they step up their game. read more
