I was on a hunt for a good waxing salon that could squeeze in a last minute appointment. After seeing all the 5 star reviews for Gigi's salon, and that they do facials, I was anxious to call and inquire about scheduling an appointment. My call was answered by a guy, (receptionist), who I didn't quite understand. I asked if I was calling Gigi's salon, just to confirm, and I was rudely corrected, apparently I was calling "Gigi's SKINCARE and salon.......Sorry!!! I was then passed to a woman who proceeded to schedule a same day appointment ( I did appreciate that). She had asked my name, which I gave and I began to spell out for her, but I was rudely interrupted by her saying " Yeah, I know how to spell" . Talk about bad first impressions, with 2 different employees!!!!! I decided to NOT book an appointment and take my business elsewhere. I think you should work on your Telephone Etiquette, before you lose more customers!!! read more

Like other reviewers, I have followed Jackie from other salons to Gigi's Skincare. She is just that good. I started coming to Jackie for the basics, underarm and eyebrows, but then soon added on more waxing services as well as facials. Now my daughter and friends go to Jackie as well, some from more than a few cities away. She is just that good. One of the things I appreciate about her, is that day or night, far in advance or last minute, I can text or call her directly for an appointment. Diane is an amazing human being -- she makes you feel right at home in her facial/waxing room. You know the adage 'If you want anything done right, do it yourself.'? Normally I would agree, but with Diane, she cares just as much as you do. She is perfectionist and won't settle for anything less. Her facial was very relaxing and her nurturing hands helped relieve some of the painful extractions that usually makes me tear endlessly and silently cry. She uses Dermatologica with an oatmeal and sesame-smelling paste at the end to take away from the redness and looking like a you've been stuck by a million pins. On top of all that, she gives THE most amazing massages. She's the real deal, I'll definitely be returning :) Ps. I got Maria to give me my first wax ever. The place is in a massage parlor so I initially thought I was in the wrong place. They have parking in the back and it looks clean. I was escorted into a relaxing room with nice soothing music and was given privacy to remove my pants. Maria made me feel at ease and began right away. I was not specific on what I wanted because I had no previous experience on what to ask for. She proceeded to give me a Brazilian *Holy crap that hurt*! I thought she was going to cover me with something but it was all out, she just handed me a little towel to pull on, she said it helped with the pain. Mostly it dried my sweaty hands. The weekend before I was at the river so I shaved for that and the grow outs were too short to wax. Maria was a darling and took care of it by tweezing *Yiooow holy jeez*!!! Anyway, I was bare as a baby just in time for Aruba. Maria is great, she made me feel comfortable, which is important when you're totally exposing your privates to a stranger. When she was done, she left the room for me to inspect her work and to get dressed. Well I thought she'd return but she didn't so I laid there like a stunned dummy for a while until I decided to come out and look for her. She was waiting for me at the front, offered me some water (I needed a real drink after that) and I paid her. I left shaken and walking like a cowboy, but excited to experience this Brazilian everyone is talking about. I have had "sugaring" done before and that hurt much less but was way more expensive. I made the huge mistake of going to the gym afterwards and broke out really bad. It all turned out okay but waxing is not for me. If you are a waxer you'll be very happy. She is quick, very professional, and reasonably priced. As for me, I'll be looking into lasers. Advice for first timers: *Wear a dress or something loose to your appointment *Don't work-out afterwards (sweat clogs pores) even if you shower right after *Take an Advil or something right before *It WILL hurt, but exfoliate (gently) in the shower anyway *My wax only lasted 9 days (ugh) *You will NOT be touch ready the next day so don't wax the day before...ahem anything you need to be... uh "ready" for. Ok I've been waxing (not waning) since I discovered that some people (me) are not CUT OUT to shave (pun in tended) in steps in steps "Diane"...think of a angel holding muslin strips in one hand and a canister of wax in the other with the tongue depressor like wax applicators around her head like a halo. Why Diane, why no other? Well I've tried the rest but I am sticking with the best. Oh I've strayed yeah, not a cheater but I've tried some of those so called "deals " yet I return to Diane because, of her ATTENTION TO DETAIL, use of TWEEZERS, PERSONALITY use of TWEEZERS to ensure not hair is left where it's not supposed to be. YES I want to emphasis that. you can get bare, but you are not truly bare until | someone cares enough to double and triple check and TWEEZE that bikini...DIANE CARES THAT MUCH ! Like Sandy, I too followed Diane here from Jouissance and her interim location. She's friendly and good at what she does - which involves pulling hair from painful places - so that you don't hate her too much when it's done. And her neck massage during facials is FABULOUS. Highly recommend her! The new salon is fresh and clean and looks like it will have lots of good services. Parking on Fair Oaks is easy now that construction is done, and there is also a private lot in back, accessed by the alley. The front desk staff is pleasant and helpful too. read more

Best waxing place in town! It was my first time here and Lucy was amazing. The atmosphere is great, they put on mediation music for you and have a variety of cooling gels. She is a fabulous aesthetician; I recommend her to all of my clients (who are very particular!) She gives a fabulous facial and is the only person I will go to for waxing (both eyebrows and bikini.) What separates her from others is she ALWAYS remembers the specifics of your body and goes out of her way to satisfy you. The salon is new and the rooms are private, inviting, and quiet. I went in to go get a Brazilian wax and she made me feel so comfortable. I've been getting Brazilian waxing done for a little over two years so I've been around to a lot of salons but this one was my absolute favorite! Take this review as a WARNING- do not get any bikini/brazilian type wax here. This was absolutely the worst and most painful brazilian wax I have ever had. At first I thought my esthetician, Yuki, was being meticulous (something I could appreciate) but after over an HOUR I realized she not only was the slowest waxer I've had by far (hello! a wax should take no more than 20 minutes). Not only that but she broke half of the hairs, requiring her to return and tweeze so many hairs that I had to tell her to stop. Completely unprofessional and painful. Sensitive Skin? I certainly do. I used to go get my eyebrow/lip waxed and literally be red for the ENTIRE day. Other times I was left with bleeding and/or weird bumps the next day. Diane is simply the best! She uses a different type of wax than other places. It is equally as effective but my face is back to normal within 20 minutes. Diane is also just very nice. I've been going to her for all my waxing needs and have even had some facial work done (she primarily uses dermalogica - a brand that has worked well for my skin - and is very knowledgeable about the product line and what works bests for your type of skin). I have to thank sites like Yelp for helping me find Jackie. It has been 5 years since I've lost touch and her number. Now that I've moved back to the area for good, she is the one I can trust to do a professional and thorough job as my aesthetician. She is consistently great at what she does, even back in the days, I never left her table feeling icky with wax residue or needing to pluck any stray hairs. I really hope GiGi skincare owners will take care of such a gem of a person. Excellent customer service is rare these days. Today she took care of all my waxing needs, but the salon manager tagged on five bucks more than what Jackie asked for. I found my new skin/wax spa! I walked in on a Sunday and was able to get a wax and a facial by Maria! It had been a while since I'd had a full Brazilian wax and was a little hesitant but it was a great experience. Maria was quick and extremly thorough. She explained her every move and warned which areas would be more painful. She had to do some tweezing because I had unfortunately shaved. We all know waxes are never pleasant however, I will definitely return! I chose to get a European facial and highly enjoyed it! She analyzed my skin, asked which products I use, and asked what my main concerns are. The massage was excellent and I feel like she took her time and cleaned every single pore! My skin feels amazing! This place is clean and plenty of parking in the back. They share the same reception area with a massage spa but they are separate entrances.
