Dr Cacho is hands down the best dentist I've ever had in my life! It's so rare to find such a genuine dentist that not only cares for his patients but provides exceptional quality. He took the time to show me each teeth that needed attention on the screen with great explanation in detail. I have ALWAYS been afraid of going to the dentist because it was so painful. I used to go to the dentist that was in the plaza next to the apartment complex I lived in growing up, but I would only go if there was something terribly wrong with me. Cavities, wisdom teeth, deep cleaning... you name it. Even x-rays hurt when they put films in your mouth! But this is not the case with Dr. Cacho and Gina. I must have looked up at least 7 different dentists and gone to two dentists prior to Dr. Cacho for different opinions this past week! I even used 1-800-dentist because I didn't think yelp would have reviews on doctors...! However, that did not work out due to schedule conflict. So I gave up and looked on yelp. I called 5 different 5-star ratings to see who could take me in the same day due to a fractured molar emergency and fortunately was able to get in with Dr. Cacho! The previous reviewers were right, Dr. Cacho explains everything thoroughly with you and is gentle when working on your teeth. I did not have to cry like a baby when he gave me numbing medication. A dentist who is more of a friend than anything! Your teeth will thank you when you visit this office. The staff is nice and take care of you as if they were to be treated. Before I begin, I have to explain my history with dentists. I've been traumatized as a child by my former dentist. On occasion, this sadistic and evil man would try to trick me into opening my mouth by telling me he's just going to take a look and then quickly stab me with the needle before I could protest. Nearly every time he'd hide it behind his back before hap-hazardly shoving the painful instrument into my mouth. Sometimes he would have me restrained onto the chair so he could finish the torture. by the time I was 18, even a simple check up would bring me to tears. Needless to say...I hadn't gone in many many years due to this fear, until one day a good friend of mine insisted that Dr. Cacho was a gentle soul and a genius at his craft. My teeth were in horrible shape and I really needed help for a chipped tooth that was causing me intense pain. Dr. Cacho quelled all my fears instantly, simply by talking to me and taking the time to gain my trust. He explained every little thing he was doing, and was even able to inject the novacaine w/ a lot less pain than i had expected. He was so gentle and calming; my stress went from high anxiety to just a little bit of nervousness. I'm glad i'm finally over my fear thanks to Dr. Cacho. For years i was so embarrassed that I was afraid of even a teeth cleaning and that tear would come to my eye at the thought of it. I have been trying to make an appointment as a new patient for Dr. Cacho, just based on the reviews on yelp. The first time I tried to make an appointment they gave me a date 3 months in the future...If he is that busy maybe they should not be accepting new patients. They 2nd time I tried to make an appointment. No one answered the phone they entire day, so I left a voicemail. It took them 3 days to call me back. Seems they are too busy for customer service. Mechanics and dentists are similar to me in that I never want to see them unless there is something going wrong, I'm never sure if I "really" trust what they're telling me they are going to make me pay a small fortune for, and I could never really find one that I was comfortable with. That is of course, until I met Dr. Gil. I'm not saying that my family dentist that I grew up is all that bad, the problem is, I'm finding that as techonology evovles, new procedures and better equipment can really improve the overall "health" of your mouth. Staying with a dentist that is not "evolving" with the dental industry standards is like having a Dr. tell you to drink some whiskey and bite on a bullet while he removes your appendix. So here are my 3 Reasons why I go to Dr. Gil: 1.) Honesty Dr. Gil was my next door neighbor, and after about a year, my wife and I got to know him and his wife, and first and foremost they are really good-hearted, honest and caring people. 2.) Skills -Think of a Michael Jordan smoothly weaving through players and gliding in for a soft kiss off the glass shot in comparison to Shaq barreling in smashing a dunk while knocking down 3 opposing players: in the past, a simple teeth cleaning would be utterly painful with past dentists, with Dr. Gil it's effortless and painless. -Dr. Gil is passionate about staying updated on the best equipment and methods and while being a superior dentist, he continues to be a consummate student that continues to evolve his craft. 3.) Communication Dr. Gill communicates with you every step of what needs to happen, what is going to happen, and how he can help you. He is clear and honest in every way, leaving you with no room for doubt whatsoever. For me, I would drive 2 hours to see Dr. Gil rather than deal with any other dentist. There longest wait time i have experienced is 15 mins, which was maybe one one time out of the many times ive been here. I have came in with excruciating pain and Dr. Cacho has always been very sympathetic and is quick to help alleviate pain. They go above and beyond to provide the best care. Not only is he a very skilled dentist, he's a very nice guy who takes the time to explain all procedures thoroughly (complete with educational videos!), answer any questions you may have, and even adjust your out-of-pocket cost to make his services more affordable. Additionally, his front desk staff are very friendly and were very responsive to questions I had regarding my insurance coverage and paperwork. To top it off, my dental visit actually started on time. Based on my experiences with other dentists, I expected to start about an hour past my appointment time, but that was not that case at all. Other misc. info: -His office is a renovated house on a neighborhood block. Although the parking lot is small and usually full, there's ample parking on the street. -If you're a new patient, plan on arriving at least 15-20 minutes before your appointment to fill out the necessary paperwork. -SWAG! You get a bag full of oral health-related goodies after your (first) visit, including a toothbrush, floss, proximal brushes, and a tongue scraper. As my other reviews indicate, I recently moved to San Diego, but I have no reservations about driving the 1.5 hours necessary to be treated by Dr. Cacho. Five stars all the way! read more

I've been going to Dr. Cacho for years (10 or more I can't remember). From a regular checkup, to a root canal to deep cleanings, the service from him and his staff is super friendly and of great quality. I look forward to my visits here knowing that my family and I are in good hands. It's a small and quaint dentist's office with easy parking in the neighborhood and Saturday appointments if you can't make it during the week. In fact, despite moving out of orange county in 2008, I'm still driving through traffic from LA for my appointments every four months because I love coming here. I used to rank dentists on the same level as auto mechanics: they offer you a great deal but once you're inside, they rob you for everything you got with scare tactics. Then I was referred to Dr. Cacho. He and his staff are by far the friendliest and most thorough team in dentistry. One point I will make is I take my two young daughters to Dr. Cacho who has removed their "the chair" fears thus saving me thousands of dollars in "child specialist" dentists. Found Dr Cacho on Yelp and made a quick phone call to check that they accepted my insurance and was able to schedule an appointment two weeks later. Since then, I can't say anything but great things about this place, my new go to dentist and I've gone so far as to recruit my brother and wife from their regular dentist to this place!! Appointments are very easy to schedule, if you want one there's most likely an opening sometime within one week! If it's urgent they're even very good about squeezing you in somehow someway, they let me come in 15 minutes before closing for what ended up being an hour procedure! They constantly give you discounts on procedures if you're a loyal patient and most of the time won't even tell you or bring it up.
