I'll start at the end and work my way forward :-). When I brought the new 2026 CR-V home my sweet wife said "you're the only person I know who could go to service to get a windshield repaired and come home with a new car". She was happy because the 2021 CR-V with the cracked windshield worried us both with being on its 4th windshield due to the rocks and pebbles flying around in Highway 59 here in Fort Bend County. Now for the serious part. I did go in for service only, yesterday morning. I mentioned to my service adviser Marvin (5 stars for you Marvin) that I dreamed about a new CR-V and maybe someday that would happen. While Marvin had my car in the service department, Terry came over low-key and introduced himself as a man in sales. He told me that Gillman had a lot of new Hondas in stock and would be interested in buying my 2021. Picturing us without a ride if we sold the car, I said, half-joking, "the only way I'll get rid of this car is if we get an equivalent new one for less per month than we are paying now" and I knew that was going to be a non-starter. Boy was I wrong! Terry didn't make any promises but he told me a lot about the 2026 cars and said he would work on something with his manager. I got real interested then.... ...and John, the manager, asked me to come to his desk, and showed me some numbers. Well, maybe they really wanted to keep this customer. Maybe my improved credit score compared to 2021 helped too. But whatever it was, Terry and John (what an interesting person!) actually made my dream come true. A 2026 CR-V with 6 miles on it, and a fresh warrantee, for $3 less per month than I was paying for my 2021. Wow. This was real, no fake promises, no hidden anything. I knew it was real when Muhammad, in the finance department, quickly drew up the contract. Just like John and Terry said, it was $3 per month less that I was paying. Now here is where it gets funny. I was pretty nervous signing on an impulse buy like this! I had no idea we were getting a new car. And right after John and I shook hands, a large crowd of Team Gillman people came toward us, singing a congratulations song and gave me a giant gong and a hammer to ring it with!~. This was exhilarating unexpected and real fun! We love the new ride, and Team Gillman seems to get better each year. I'd like to be a customer for life. Even if I win the lottery bigtime I'll give up buying a Ferarri because buying and servicing at Gillman makes me feel so good. Thanks Team Gillman Honda. Let's do it again sometime. This dealership will screw you over. They claim to make sure each used vehicle is certified and in working condition before they sell. I even asked about what the process was of certifying a vehicle to be sold. Not even within 30 days of purchasing a vehicle from Gillman Honda Fort Bend, from salesman Vik Gupta, the vehicle had a catastrophic failure of the transmission and requires a replacement transmission which is roughly a $5,500 repair. Gillman Honda Fort Bend stated there's nothing they can do to help resolve the situation. They stated the vehicle was bought "AS IS", but that "as is" was accepted with the understanding that the vehicle being purchased was in working condition. This vehicle was, in fact, not in working condition. Stay away from this sketchy dealership read more
