For the price, you absolutely get your money's worth. We couldn't stop raving about the green chilaquiles or the poblano panini! We also tried the strawberry matcha, but it tasted mostly like milk, so I wouldn't recommend that one. However, the dirty chai and caramel latte were both excellent! I don't write reviews often--but this one I had to write. We've been to Gina's Kitchen a handful of times for breakfast, and it has never disappointed. Recently, we had an out-of-state guest who just wanted a good lunch--he ordered the burger and said it was one of the best he's ever had. That's when we realized they also serve dinner... and WOW. Last week, my husband and I came for dinner and were blown away. So last night, we brought friends who had never been--and the experience was honestly next level. We started with the pork belly guacamole. The pork belly was like butter--perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful. I ordered the "Outside Skirt," not even fully knowing what cut it was. When it came out, Chef George himself came to the table and explained the best way to cut and enjoy it. Then he brought out a gravy glaze to go with it--what a touch! Let me just say: this was the best steak I have ever had. And I'm not kidding when I say it was better than any steak I've had at Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar. Truly exceptional. Our waitress, Lexi, was an absolute doll--so attentive and kind. As an iced tea lover, I especially appreciated that my glass was never empty (that matters more than people realize!). I even asked Lexi to tell Chef George this was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. And then... the churro cake. I'm diabetic and never eat dessert--but I had two bites and all I can say is: WOW. Seriously WOW. It was that good. I wish I had taken pictures of all the food, but we were too busy enjoying every bite. I did manage to snap a before-and-after of the cake... and that alone tells the story! Pro tip: join the waitlist online through Toast. It makes the seating process a breeze. From the chile verde to the undeniably delicious breakfast enchiladas and chilaquiles (green sauce is my go-to), to the Oaxacan, Spanish, and new Brown Sugar lattes--it's all fantastic. I've also come to prefer the way they now prepare the pollo asado, which pairs perfectly with several of the breakfast dishes. I came to Gina's Kitchen right at opening on a weekday since I had business in the area. I wanted to make sure I was on time and well fed for the day. Christina welcomed me in at opening and the set up for the restaurant was ready, such as the condiments on the tables and the water pitchers. I was pretty impressed by how on top of they are even at opening. I decided to get the Traditional Breakfast with the French Toast add on ($22) and their House Coffee ($3.95). The traditional breakfast comes with 3 eggs any style you like, bacon, sausage, and home style potatoes. The french toach was generous with 4-half slices topped with fruits, powder sugar, and a delicious whip chantilly cream. Those home style potatoes were AMAZING... crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I also appreciate that Christina kept my coffee well refilled. I never saw the bottom of the cup. She was really attentive because she made sure to get me the check before I even needed to ask, since she remembered I mentioned I had somewhere to be by a certain time. I mentioned how I wanted to take my family here during the weekend and Christina mentioned there is a Yelp Waitlist. I guess it gets really busy on weekends. I had the opportunity to try Gina's Kitchen at a Yelp Elite event and I was sold on the delicious food there and have been wanting to come and try the full menu ever since. I finally made it and this is what I had. 1. Mushroom skillet was so good! It comes with huge pieces of potato, mushrooms, feta, tomatoes, cheese. Had lots of flavor. Comes with a large side of arugula salad with balsamic vinaigrette. I added a side of turkey bacon, which I'm still dreaming about to this day. They made it perfectly crispy, which I don't know how they did it because turkey bacon is notorious for being rubbery. No rubbery bacon here. 2. I also ordered a waffle on the side with berries. Waffle was very crunchy. Crunchier than I prefer. It was almost to the point of needing to be made over, but I didn't want to bother the staff, so I ate it as it was. Also why I am not removing any stars from my review, because our server and the owner Amanda came by to check on us and I could have said something. 3. I originally asked for no potatoes in my mushroom skillet and instead on the side, but I guess the request wasn't passed on to the kitchen staff and I received potatoes inside the skillet and also a side of potatoes. Our server asked if I'd like them to remake it, but I declined and just took out the pieces of potatoes myself. 4. My mother got the grilled chicken sandwich that comes with avocado, cheese, bacon, etc. She enjoyed it and said it was really good. Her side was French fries. Since she doesn't eat pork, she asked for the bacon on the side (to bring home to the dog), but then later thought that she could have asked for turkey bacon instead. Ambiance is nice. The walls are decorated and they have indoor and patio seating. While there, they were consistently cleaning, sweeping floors, wiping tables, picking up plates, and that was very refreshing to see an owner take pride in their establishment and making sure it always looked presentable. Overall I thought the food was made well, the ingredients were fresh and everything was seasoned well. The salsa was delicious. I would just request next time to have my waffle cooked less and I'm sure I would enjoy it. read more
