It's really unfortunate that I had to give a 1-star rating because Gina's had a lot going for it -- good food, fair pricing, and a great server. But the experience with the hostess completely overshadowed everything. She originally told our party the wait would be 1.5 hours, which was fine since we were waiting for others to arrive. But only 15 minutes later, our table was called. When we said we were still waiting on a few people, she abruptly told us there was a 1-hour dining limit that would start immediately if we sat down. We understandably chose to wait so the hour wouldn't start prematurely and only then did she tell us we only had a 10-minute grace period to be seated. I explained the last member of our group was about seven minutes away, and she replied, "Well, it's already been seven minutes of your grace period. I can give you another seven minutes." When I reminded her of the original 1.5-hour estimate, she brushed it off as "just an estimation" - even though she was telling every party the same thing, clearly without trying to estimate wait times accurately. When our last guest arrived, she then told us we had to wait again because our party size changed from 7 to 6 - despite insisting earlier that our table was already ready and on a strict grace period. She kept repeating that the table was "ready, we're just waiting for them to leave," but when I asked directly, she admitted it wasn't. The inconsistency and lack of honest communication were incredibly frustrating. We tried to overlook all of this because the food and service were genuinely good. But after we paid and the bride-to-be finished opening a few gifts, the same hostess came over to tell us our hour was up. Her tone wasn't polite or professional - it was gleeful, like she was happy to talk down to us and "make a point." When we asked for her name, she said "Alexia," though given everything else, I wouldn't be surprised if that wasn't even true. When the other hostesses asked her what our table wanted, she rolled her eyes and shrugged like it was ridiculous we wanted to ask for her name. Tldr: Gina's needs to make sure they're properly training their hostesses. A hostess is the first point of contact for guests and creates lasting impressions about the establishment. The hostess I dealt with clearly needs more training on managing wait-time expectations, explaining policies, and interacting with customers respectfully. Everything about the place was great, but Alexia - if that is even her name - has made sure no one in my party is coming back, nor are we recommending the place to anyone else. For a gathering that was supposed to be a happy one, celebrating a bride-to-be, she ruined the experience. read more

I decided to dine here for my Birthday breakfast. I've been here a few times and sadly, it will be the last. The first issue was my father's plate was brought out with cold eggs. When we told our waitress, she kindly offered to bring fresh eggs to the table. That was very much appreciated. The second issue, my mother's plate had a huge piece of thick black yarn or string tucked under her potatoes. We brought the issue up to our waitress and an entire new plate was offered. Again, I appreciate it. I asked to speak to the manager and while explaining the issue, we asked if she was the manager and she arrogantly replied with "I'm the owner". Unfortunately, Amanda was not empathic nor did she apologize on behalf of her restaurant. She confirmed she saw the black string and suggested it may have been from an apron like it was no big deal. I drove 30 minutes specifically for the food and service and unfortunately, my expectations were not met today. I've told tons of fellow yelpers about this restaurant and I won't recommend coming here at all if this is the type of response an owner is willing to provide. I didn't get a picture of the black string because I assumed the matter would be handled differently. The owner did prove a $4 discount and she really could have kept it. All these years living in San Bernardino County, and it's the first time going to Gina's Kitchen & Catering in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. We had arrived for breakfast, and the place was already buzzing with customers. Gina's catered to business clients as well as family--a friendly atmosphere. Dining was available both inside and on an outdoor patio. It's a family restaurant serving a variety of tasty food, hot. Hot java and hot food are a must for us, and that's how Dani, our server, served them to us. I selected the "Pork Chuletas," while my wife had the "Chilaquiles Divorciados" (red and green chilaquiles). Our plates were brought to us hot and tasty. My chops were thin and tasty, served with green chile, beans, and cheese, a couple of over-medium eggs, and potatoes. My wife's plate came with red/green chilaquiles, beans, and a couple of over-medium eggs and never-ending HOT coffee. We appreciate our server, Dani, for ensuring we had everything we needed for an enjoyable and memorable breakfast. The dining area was very clean, as was the bathroom. This is my go to brunch spot. Everything I've ever had has been so good. The service is always phenomenal. Food: We absolutely love the food here. It's so good and the portions are always so big we always have leftovers! They have a coffee bar, we've never gotten coffee but they look good! Service: I've never been disappointed with the service. My fiancee and myself have been here multiple times for breakfast and brunch and it has always been delicious. We went again last week but decided to go for dinner and try it out. It was a quiet night and wasn't too busy. Our servers name was Emily and she provided amazing service and some great recommendations for food and drinks. We started off with the Chorizo Fundido and the Smoked Salmon flat bread and they were both delicious. I still don't know which one I enjoyed more. We also had the Chicken Poblano and that was also really good. Overall we were really impressed with their dinner menu. I think I like it more than their breakfast. On 3/6 I went to Gina's Kitchen for breakfast with my family (2 adults and 2 kids). The restaurant was busy, so I walked up to the reception desk and put our name on the waiting list. I gave them my phone number and was told the wait would be about 40 minutes. I didn't receive a confirmation text that I had been added to the waitlist, so I went back to ask the receptionist about it. He told me that I wouldn't get a text until the table was ready. After about 45 minutes, I sent my brother to check on our table. He came back and told me that our name wasn't on the waiting list and that my phone number wasn't in the system. I went back to speak with the receptionist, and he said I had only told him 2 adults. I corrected him and explained that I clearly said 2 adults and 2 kids. When I asked him to confirm my phone number, we discovered he had entered it incorrectly in the system. When I asked again about the confirmation text, he said that "some people get it and some people don't," which didn't make much sense. I then asked how much longer the wait would be, and he told me there were 3 parties ahead of us. What made it more frustrating was that I saw people who arrived after us already being seated. We ended up waiting another 40 minutes with no text or update. At that point we decided to leave. It's very disappointing to deal with service like this, especially when you have kids waiting to eat. My family waited almost two hours, and we eventually had to go somewhere else for breakfast because the receptionist entered my phone number incorrectly. Hopefully the restaurant improves its waitlist system and customer service so other families don't have the same experience. read more

We often come for brunch but the food isn't always consistent in quality. Sometimes the food is perfectly seasoned and sometimes it's overly seasoned. Same with the drinks. I usually order the Spanish latte half sweet. Today it is overly sweet, even at half sweet. The mushroom skillet I ordered had a lot of bites where I bit into salt. The service is a hit and miss depending on how busy they are but they're always friendly. It's a very quaint local brunch place. read more

It was busy, not too overly crowded for a weekday- The menu had a variety of items (breakfast/lunch) that just by name sounded great! She was kind, informative and even while busy, she was very attentive. Now, let's get to the food and drinks. To start, I got a hot chocolate with oat milk and my fiancé got an orange juice. My hot chocolate was delicious and came with a beautiful design. It wasn't overly sweet and I really liked that. The orange juice was also very delicious and fresh. We wound up ordering the Birria Machaca Omelette and the Chilaquiles. I got half red/half green so I could try both salsas. I also added the steak for an extra charge. It was worth it in my opinion. Both salsas were delicious and had their own distinct flavors. I couldn't choose my favorite. The beans were SUPER delicious. The Birria Machaca Omelette was fluffy and loaded with tender and juicy meat. We also both really enjoyed their house potatoes with the peppers and onions. Their house salsa was also a nice addition to the meal. Overall, we continued to talk about this place the rest of the day. The portions were large and I believe worth the money. Yet another incredible brunch at Gina's. I love Gina's. It's my favorite Mexican brunch spot. Everything we have tried on the menu is absolutely exceptional. They do not fail me! HORRIBLE FOR CATERING! It not only happened to me, but also a colleague. They have poor communication and are so unreliable. I contacted them over a month before my event, went back and forth a few times; I was always having to follow up. Then they cancelled on me 5 days before my event. They never answered my colleague when she contacted them. The only reason I held out for them was because my work used them for a Holiday party. Big disappointment! EDIT - No deposit was made on my end because of terrible communication. I kept having to follow up and received little to no responses. But in a very rude way that My wife was shocked this person talking to us like we're kids. .
