I recently ordered A pizza from Gina's thinking it was still the same, to my dismay, The Pizza I received was AWFUL!! Nothing like what Gina's used to be. Didn't even get to eat here , came in , it was dark ,menus were in the back & no prices upfront. I saw a sign that said "cash only" which had objects in front of it, I asked just in case it was an old sign that was left up - they said CASH ONLY me and my family don't carry much cash so we sat at the table For 5-7 mins discussing who was going to pull out money and how much we all had on our person. Them bourbon wingz are GOOOOOOD! Love the flavor of that sauce, although I do wish the wings were a tad bit bigger, the flavor just makes up for the lack of size. Pizza is great, I love the dough and the fact that the pizza isn't overpowered by marinara sauce. I like a thin layer of marinara on my pizza. They did forget a couple of things like ham on my hawaiian pizza and they didn't include ranch in which I had purchased as extra. THEY NO LONGER ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS. They have a cash machine in the restaurant. They did not let us know when we placed a phone order. Something seems a bit different as in the vibe seems different as if they sold it to new owners. Maybe not but it wasn't the same vibe it used to be. Where to start! My dad used to take me here all the time when I was younger and we've only been a couple of times since. I went back today with my dad and WOW what a memorable slice of pizza. Instantly my new favorite pizza parlor. I've been to BJ's, Rio's and a few other local hot spots but I tell you none have left me as pleased as I was today. Fresh and flavorful..... where to start..... pizza sizes are huge and almost everything is family style , the antipasto salad had freshly cut vegetables, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni and the Italian dressing was not to over powering at all. The salad is a must order, it's so refreshing!!! Mozzarella stick were yummy and hot and went perfectly with the marinara sauce!!! Oh and the pizza.... wow!!!! Not impressed. I was hoping since it looks like a mom & pop spot that it would be really good but sadly it wasn't. First, the pizza while being weirdly shaped (not round and completely uneven) tasted a bit plastic-like. Not what my tastebuds were expecting. The chicken fettuccine Alfredo looked like soup. It was water not sauce. And the noodles tasted like they came out of a plastic bag rather than homemade like I would expect from an establishment like this. We also ordered a meatball sandwich but they were out of meatballs so we got a chicken Parmesan instead. The chicken wasn't bad but the bread was toasted and got very hard. Lastly, we got a small order of buffalo chicken wings. The sauce wasn't bad but the chicken was breaded and tasted as if maybe they came out of a frozen bag. Customer service was good. Ok so where do I start, I walk in and look at the menu. The girl at the counter tells me the menu prices are not accurate. I kindly ask for an updated menu. The girl tells me they do not have one. I scratch my head in disbelief, as I say to myself oh well I'm already here let me get this over with. I ask for a small two topping pizza. The total came out to $21.80 for a small. I think to myself ok a little pricey hopefully the pizza will justify the high price. I was very clear when I asked if they had fresh garlic on my pizza the girl said it would not be a problem. After waiting for my pizza for over 50 minutes. The girl hands me the pizza. I ask for utensils napkins plates etc. she tells me they don't have any, and if I wanted napkins you can get them from the table dispenser. Strike two, I say to myself. Then I look at my pizza and they forgot to put garlic. I said this is not what I paid for. The girls response was well we can throw it back in the oven with garlic on top. I tell her no! I want to take my business else where. She tells me well we already made the food. I say that's not what I ordered, give me my money back! After going back and forth she tells me I can have my money back, and I can keep the pizza! A nice gesture, but at this point with no apology, and no accountability. I tell her keep the pizza I want this over with. I took my money and drive up the street to Rios instead. Such a shame, especially when I've been going to Gina's since they were on Whittier Blvd in the 90's. I drove 30 minutes to get pizza and chicken parmigiana from this place since I heard good things. I pre ordered so it would be ready when I got there. That was not the case. They are super slow and took forever. They weren't that busy either. The pizza is ok and Im not sure what the gave me instead of chicken parmigiana cause what I got was no where near chicken parmigiana. My chicken was dry and cut up. Not breaded. First and last time here. I placed a phone order..the person who took my order does not mention that they prefer cash payments. I get there and give my debit to pay and she says...do you have cash on you! I say no...she says just so you know for future orders (which is not happening) we are going to be cash only. Meanwhile she is trying to get her debit machine to work...while she mentions to me that there is an ATM behind me that I can use and that it will charge me $2.25..the debit card machine doesn't work. I HAVE to use the ATM...you would think she'd take at least $2.00 off my order total. I pay and I say to her...just some advice...you may want to tell people that you're cash only when they place their phone order. Her response....the machine works sometimes...really...wow! read more

Background: My friend from work was a pizzamania fan then I introduced him to Rio's. After that he swore by Rios Pizza and was in constant search of something to top Rio's. He heard about this place from a chick that used to work at both Rios & Ginas. So after all the talk I was in the area and decided to try it. Called in a order for 2 slices. Parked on the street went in and was greeted by a friendly cashier. The slices were huge! One probably would have been good to avoid the after lunch crash at work. They wrapped the slices in wax paper then put them in a brown paper bag. It was a little soggy and greasy by the time I was able to eat them. Crust - Decent, I liked the thickness. Not thin, not thick, more sicilian or California style pizza similar in thickness to Rios i guess. Crust was a bit chewy though. Sauce - Kinda plain. Lacking some spices. Pepperoni - Nothing special. To me it reminded of a generic tourist trap pizza place. Cheese - Okay, not great. Again lacking something. Overall the pizza was decent as a whole. But nothing compared to my high hopes. I'll probably give it another shot and order a whole pizza and dine in to see if that helps. The customer service was excellent though. read more
