This is going to be a short review of the Tokyo House. The owners have changed since I was last here which has been a long time ago. The food is good and the service was fast. We ordered the Teriyaki Chicken and Orange Chicken. Both came with white rice and were actually good. This is one of those places you stop by for a quick bite to eat and not necessarily you would choose over a favorite place to get a meal. My suggestion is if it's a quick meal you want then by all means stop by. Place has plenty of tables to sit down and eat. Kind of pricey but nowadays what isn't. read more

Very disappointed with multiple dishes! Fried rice with veggies with very few veggies. Dry and no flavor. Sweet sour sauce is not good at all. Dry egg rolls and old crab puffs. I hate to be so critical on business but this was bad! No soy sauce no cookie and the very very minimal and not acceptable. Do better just so gross! read more

This place is NOT what it used to be. These new owners need to get their sh!t together before their business fails because their food FAILS. Orange chicken: 0/10 Noodles: 0/10 Gyozas: 0/10 Ragoons: 0/10 Not crab ragoons because there was nothing freaking in them. Just call them goons if you're goon enough to ever charge for and serve those to someone ever again. Gyozas were not crispy, not warm, no flavor... basically a sponge. Noodles: how do you even mess this up? No sauce, no flavor, even texture isn't good, Orange chicken: the way you pride yourselves saying this is THE orange chicken is shameful. This is THE burnt bits left in the skillet after cooking chicken. Covered in a sauce that doesn't taste even remotely like orange, not even a fake orange flavor. Honestly, the broccoli was the orangest item in that bowl. Ya'll took my money from me tonight and should be ashamed of yourselves. Give people something worth paying for. Do yourself a favor, and re try everything on that menu. Tell me, does what you have to offer, excite you to put your business name on it and share with the world?? I would have rather gone to the store and got frozen Chinese instead of this. I would have rather just made a PB&J. I did make a quesadilla instead of eating this. We all deserve refunds or a free meal once you hire new management. Tokyo house used to be my families favorite, but I will never come here or recommend this place again. We ordered the Yakisoba house style off of Uber Eats.. it was pretty solid..the beef and chicken was subpar, the shrimp was excellent. Ordered a side of veggies which was pretty price gouging being $4. It was good for the price I paid otherwise. read more

I have been going here since I was little and after what i think is like 20 years this place is still absolutely fire.

Nooo! What happened here...haven't been here in a long time cause we move a bit far from the restaurant. Today we decided to make a drive to pick up two chicken bowls teriyaki . Always order from here, but today I received my "large" order of orange chicken and the plate had 80 percent rice and 20 percent chicken.

My favorite place for a teriyaki chicken/beef bowl. Very fast and friendly!! Always stop by for lunch after work!!

Love the fried rice, and the salmon roll is usually super fresh tasting. The miso soup is my favorite outside of what they serve in Osaka.

Expensive for low quality food, dirty and below average sushi. Just go to Yama, it's near by; They make rolls with their hands with quality ingredients for the same price as TH and they don't use a fake sushi machine, is clean and chefs are Japanese. read more

I had the orange chicken and it was horrible. It tasted like they cooked chicken nuggets in sauce. I came here many years ago and fondly remember the authentic food. This was trash. I've had better Chinese food at Safeway. Yuck. The chicken was rubbery almost like it wasn't freshly cooked or was microwaved. Tokyo House been a staple of Chandler for many years. It's been years since I visited the restaurant. It was good food and reasonably priced. But it has certainly lost its appeal! My shrimp with vegetables was bland, no flavor and the rice was dry and grainy! It was terrible! We also ordered teriyaki chicken and the chicken was also dry with very minimal teriyaki sauce and same for the rice. Ordered combos and the egg rolls didn't arrive until after we finished our meals. It appeared the restaurant had a lot of take out orders because we waited for our order for 20 min. The cashier did apologize for the inconvenience. The restaurant owners have NOT invested to the overall appearance of the store! Looked rundown & unkept. It's a shame, but I won't be returning. read more

We have driven past this place in a strip mall, for over 10 years as we go to Ace & Chase's Diner. It usually smells good so we decided to give it a try instead of waiting for our favorite Asian food place to open. I don't like to judge a place or employees based on looks as this could be a hidden gem. The place is really small, no decor, scratched tables and chairs, dirty, patched up tile floors, junk piled up in the corner. Very loud country pop music was playing. Uh oh! The employees were seemingly sad and very unhappy to be there. Not one Asian in sight but we won't judge. The food was bland, small portions, and the beef in the fried rice was gristly and tough. Really, it's the lack of seasoning for us. The beef, chicken and shrimp weren't seasoned before being added to the fried rice and it's obvious. I got the Don chicken ton katsu with almost no katsu sauce nor any on the side. A bit dry. Hubby got the sweet n sour chicken and it was dry, although came with extra sauce. I ordered the chicken bowl and egg-roll combo . The rice tasted under cooked, with an almost plastic like texture. The chicken was lacking in flavor, and most pieces were gristly and inedible. I grew up eating the lemon chicken at Tokyo house, it was incredible and the little old Asian man was a sweetheart he knew my family by name and our order. It used to be a relaxing environment with people that truly put care and love into their menu and the quality of their food. I have been out of the area for 7 years and was super excited to be able to visit Tokyo House again. I was so disappointed the menu had changed and the food has gone down hill. I spent a little over 35 dollars for three teriyaki chicken bowls and one thing of udon noodles. The food was so terrible we ended up taking two bites and throwing it away the rice was mush and overcooked. My daughter who is 5 and loves anything to do with noodles couldn't stand the udon. This replaced Kyoto as my go to for teriyaki chicken years ago. First time I've had it in a while, and it's not the same. It's obviously no longer grilled. Zero char that you'd expect on properly cooked teriyaki. Rice was sopping wet with sauce. This seriously makes me sad. It's like your mom changing a recipe she's used your entire life. What happened? OMG this was the worst Chinese place I have ever been too. Please read the 1 Star Google and Yelp reviews. I ordered via UberEats... and I'm not joking you it came in under 15 minutes... and half of that was the driver getting to to me.. which to some may be a good thing but it takes longer than 7-8 min to make some good food, my theory is that it was microwaved. The Sweet and Sour Pork was just plain AWFUL. Upon eating it, I found a dead fly in it, I wish I would have taken a picture, but this place must be quite unsanitary! I should have just threw it away but I was hungry... UPON BITING INTO THE CHICKEN THERE IS A PIECE OF PLASTIC IN IT! The sauce was quite gloppy and co workers tasted this and agreed that it was horrible. I have texture issues with food and this was just really fatty and horrid. The rest went into the trash. I ordered through door dash and I am a 15 min drive from there. I was quoted 45 mins and didn't arrive until over an hour. I ordered sushi which if you see photo two pieces missing primary ingredients. Both edamame and crab Rangoons were cold and disgusting. Not to mention lateness was due to restaurant as I saw driver waiting for at least 10 mins. Will not order or go back. Sorry I hate to write this type of a review but this was not good. I just had Tokyo house again after a long time and the food quality is just as good as I remember, I had the Beef Fried rice and the beef tasted like diced Japanese steak you would find in the Japanese steakhouses. Been coming here for over 20 years. Moved out of state and would ALWAYS make a pilgrimage to this place for some delicious nostalgia when I visit Az. Sad to say yesterday was my last time. It breaks my heart to confirm what most these other reviews are saying, the food has changed and it isn't for the better. The teriyaki chicken bowl was bland/lacking sauce and the little chicken pieces are weird. The chicken fried rice had huge chunks of chicken that take away from the fried rice flavor. It's almost like the chicken was switched between the two dishes (teriyaki bowl and fried rice). Egg rolls were fine but smaller. It breaks my heart cause I really loved this place. read more

I ordered the Teryaki Chicken. The food was sub-par, but to be honest, I expected that. This is not the type of place I would go to get top tier Chinese/Japanese food. My low rating is because of the poor customer service. I watched as two young gentlemen employees walked in from outside, apparently on a break. One young man began dumping trash in the dining room. The other walk directly behind the counter, touching his face and hair, and started to arrange food orders to provide over the counter. Neither of these individuals washed their hands. Additionally, the female employee was sitting behind the counter while my food sat in the window and got cold, untill the gentlemen came back inside.
