I visited Ginger's recently and had a really enjoyable experience overall. The customer service stood out immediately--from the doorman, who was welcoming and confident, to the bartenders inside. After checking our IDs, he set the tone by telling us we were about to experience some of the best drinks in the city--and honestly, he wasn't wrong. Once you enter and head downstairs, it truly opens up into its own world. The ambiance is intimate, cozy, and thoughtfully curated. The entry itself is charming, and the transition into the space feels like stepping into a hidden gem right in the heart of downtown Dallas. Inside, the layout is narrow and extends straight back, with the bar centrally positioned. Seating is limited, with small sections and lounge-style areas, so it does fill up quickly. We arrived later in the evening and there was a waitlist for tables. If you're planning to go, I would definitely recommend securing a reservation ahead of time (if available), especially if you prefer to sit. The bar service was efficient--we didn't wait long for drinks. One bartender in particular stood out; he was highly skilled, engaging, and clearly passionate about his craft. You could tell he enjoys what he does, and it added to the experience watching him prepare drinks with precision and energy. The vibe suggested they have a strong base of regulars who appreciate that level of service. I ordered a drink that was well-balanced--not too strong, not too light--just right. That said, this is more of a stop-in spot for me rather than a place I'd spend an entire evening, especially without a seat. At this stage, I prefer a more comfortable, seated experience rather than standing at the bar for long periods. Would I return? Yes--but only with a reserved table. It's a great after-dinner destination or nightcap spot if you're already downtown. Overall, I'd rate Ginger's an 8/10, primarily for its excellent customer service and inviting ambiance. It's a beautiful speakeasy experience tucked away in the city--just be mindful, it can be easy to miss if you're not paying attention.

Make a reservation! We showed up without a reservation. The hostess put us on the waitlist. We found a spot at the bar (1 seat for me). After about 20 minutes the hostess came and offered us a table for 1 hour as the table was reserved. I don't know if they never showed or they sat them somewhere else, but we stayed 2.5 hours. The staff were nice. Our server was great! I wish I could remember his name. I think it was Eric or Edmond maybe anyway he talked us into some really good drinks. The Diamond in the Rough, Velvet Vice, Keizo ???( can't remember, but it's at the bottom of the page and sounds Japanese). There is another that was really good also. Great drinks and good vibes with music from the 90s until present. If you've never been, the drinks are $20. The mocktails are $15, and the wine ranges from $16 and up per glass. Again, make a reservation!

Cocktails taste amazing! We visited this place after eating at Sushi and Bar, and it did not disappoint us. The drinks were so good--I definitely wish to come back and try more cocktails here!

Ginger's is one of those spots that gets it right every single time. From the doorman to the elegant walk down into this intimate, moody, almost seductive space, to the music, the experience is consistent from start to finish. I've been here for multiple occasions, from dates to girls nights out and the service has never missed. Their staff has stayed consistent over the past year I've been going, and you can feel it in the quality and service. My go-to drink is the pornstar martini, and somehow it gets better every time. If you have the chance to go, GO --it's the kind of place that delivers on both vibe and experience.

This is a nice place for great drinks and conversation! I went on a Saturday night and enjoyed my visit. The bartenders were very nice and the drinks were great! Pinky ring was my fav of the evening. I would suggest reservations if you're not a fan of standing. It draws a nice crowd and seating can be limited. I will def be back!

My friend and I visited here after we dined at Sushi Bar and we enjoyed their drinks! The pricing is fair and customer service is friendly! Definitely a spot to check out!

Amazing atmosphere on a Friday night! The music was 10/10, bartenders were busy but moving and so positive the whole night. Go early for a seat at the bar and have a great time!

Ginger's makes the PERFECT date night drink spot. The servers and bartenders are kind, attentive, and well versed in the menus. The ambience is dark, sexy, and intimate, it sort of makes you feel like you're not exactly in Dallas anymore. Well done all around. Will be coming back for more :)

Intimate cocktail lounge that also serves dessert. Cocktails were good and out of the desserts, the chocolate cake was definitely the stand out.

Very vibey place, can get pretty crowded on the weekend, however they do make sure that they let people in little by little to ensure everybody gets the chance to order, you can reserve a table by calling them. Cocktails are good, music is loud so be ready for a lot of funn

I love the aesthetics of the bar and how it felt like a speakeasy. The drinks were really good and the bartenders were extremely nice. I would definitely come back and visit.

Sometimes, you just need two speakeasies in one night to satisfy that craving for bourbon cocktails and hidden adventure. I love figuring out secret entrances and code words. I love the intimate, dimly lit ambiance. Tucked away down a staircase, Ginger's in Dallas is an edgy mid century modern cocktail bar. The Old Fashioneds were exceptional. I love everything about this concept. Hopping from one speakeasy was a trip.

We came in near closing time, but Emilia provided us great service and stayed attentive even though they were clearly packed. We were seated at a table near the door, and unfortunately it had a vomit smell. Whatever it was, my friend could not stand it and had to get up and step away from the table. We first thought the culprit was the paper drink coasters, but then the staff removed the door mat near us later on, so maybe someone puked on it and the smell lingered, even after it was cleaned up. Clear Mizu ($16): This has Sakura vermouth and bitters, so we ordered it. It tasted like straight up gin and was not good. It was actually one of the rare times my husband could not finish his drink. Kyoto Sunset ($15): This one wasn't bad and tasted like honeydew. The ingredients include honeydew Calpico, so that makes sense. Johnny Walker Black ($16): This was our friend's drink, which I think was just coke and Johnny Walker. Nothing special about the taste either. Given the smell and so-so/terrible cocktails, we will not be coming back or taking our friends here.

The service felt distant and rushed. Our server seemed unfamiliar with the menu, gave us conflicting information about drink availability, and rarely checked on us. We specifically asked not to be rushed, yet our entrées arrived while we were only a quarter of the way through our appetizer. At one point, our food was delivered while we were outside getting fresh air. The food was also disappointing. The scallops and chicken were extremely salty and lacked flavor, and the chicken was overcooked. When we brought it up, the server did little to address it. To top it off, we saw two large cockroaches around our table, which was especially noticeable in the dark dining room. The cocktails were the highlight, but overall, the service, food, pacing, and cleanliness did not meet expectations. One star. Very disappointing, and I'm not sure I'll be back.

The staff was very welcoming, and the other guests I encountered were friendly and sociable. The drinks were excellent. On my first visit, I had the Hugo Spritz, which was mixed to perfection. During my second visit, I tried the Bitter Lemon Soda, which was also very good--simple, refreshing, and without any overpowering flavors. I actually enjoyed The Bowen House so much that I went twice during my weekend trip to Dallas. It has an almost speakeasy-like atmosphere, with low lighting and a cozy, historic feel. It's also in a very walkable area, which made it easy to visit on foot. There is some parking available, although I would say it's somewhat limited. I don't think it would be the best spot for a very large group, but it would be perfect for a few friends getting together. I also appreciated that you can order a drink while waiting for a table or bar seating, which made the wait feel much more enjoyable. Overall, The Bowen House was one of my favorite places I visited while in Dallas. Between the atmosphere, welcoming service, and well-crafted drinks, it's definitely a place I would return to the next time I'm in town.

Food, however, wasn't great, we came multiple times last year and it was fantastic all around, last night?... New risotto appetizer was flavorless 4/10, sauce was outstanding 9/10. Chicken meatballs were 6/10, salty, but sauce again was 8.5/10. Bread with the meatballs was 9/10. Nightly special was 9/10, chicken thigh wrapped chicken leg, amazing sauce and carrots. Special sauce with the nightly special stole the night at 9.5/10 - I'd order a bowl of that and call it a night! Magic Chicken Thighs were 6/10, overly salted and dry - side arugula salad was a salt bomb 2/10. Sweet potatoe purée was 7.5/10. Burger and fries were 7/10, solid and above average. Salmon was 7/10, slightly overcooked. Mac & Cheese was 3/10, below average, dry, almost flavorless - paid $4 for bacon topping and it was dry also. Noodles were dried out and the cheese sauce was at the bottom of the cup, tasted like they scooped in pre-made noodles, added sauce, threw it in the oven and off it went - didn't appear mixed together at the least. Carrots, solid 8/10. Overall, I'd be tempted to give it another try, the ambiance and overall feel is awesome - then hope the food is great again and make it a perfect Friday night spot, but for $275 for the 4 entree's, 2 appetizer's and 2 drinks we got last night?
