I wanted to update my review after speaking to the owner of this establishment who reached out to me after reading my initial post. While I stand by my critique of the food we had and that I was disappointed with the selection, it is important to me to also share with future patrons about the kind of family that runs this business. Patty (the owner) shared with me the struggles that Bodega Bay residents and businesses have dealt with over the last several years with the county, hardships that the 2017 fires created for the refugees and how many of the residents of BB (led by Patty and her fam) came together (and are still making efforts) to help those in need and improve the quality of life in Bodega Bay. She is someone who wants to better her town and see it flourish, and help others, and that is 100% the type of business that I want to support. Fun location, a tad tricky to figure out which door goes to what restaurant, since there are two that share the same building. Nice outdoor area to watch the marina. Let's talk food. The clam/ scallop chowder, soooo good !! Crab sandwich, simple clean, full of crab and delicious ( just the way a crab sandwich should taste) However serving tortilla chips with the sandwich cheapened this. What a great meal. They are still serving family style so you get a wonderful course of food, from antipasto plate, soup, salad, bread, and your main course. We ordered chicken piccata and raviolis with meat balls. Neither of us had one complaint about our meal. We were too full for desert but they have a nice selection to choose from. Loved this place!! Best BBQ we have had in Sonoma County so far and we have tried many places! A little tricky to find because it's not right off the main hwy, but love that it's right on the water. You gotta try this place! Simple menu with not a ton of options, but what they did have they got so right. I'd rather a place have less and nail it then have a ton to choose from and be mediocre. Service... girl behind the counter that helped us was awesome. She was friendly and very helpful. Food... sooooo good! We ordered the big mixed $30 plate and it was more than enough for two people. We brought some home. It came with huge helpings of brisket, pulled pork and ribs. The brisket was cut thick and it melted in your mouth. It was the best brisket I've ever had. I want more! The pulled pork and the ribs were also so good. The meat on the ribs fell right off the bone. Only downside was I wished they had a spicy BBQ sauce. I know not everyone likes it spicy, but we do and it would have been nice to have that option. There weren't many sides to choose from, but the broccoli salad and coleslaw we had were very good. The meal came with 2 pieces of Italian bread that were a little dry. Would have been a home run if they served it with some cornbread. The Place... great spot. The inside is a bit small so not good for large groups, but very clean and I loved the tables and how it was decorated. We ate outside with a perfect view of the harbor. Outside is the way to go! Best pulled pork sandwich ever!!! This place is a wonderful spot for a bite to eat! The monkey bread topped with bacon was surprisingly delicious as well. I also enjoyed the scallop clam chowder in a bread bowl! My husband and I stopped in after a morning at the beach. The service was good, food was ready quick, and the place had a nice homey feel to it. They have gorgeous hand crafted wood/resin tables with sea shells. This is a must-go restaurant for Bodega Bay adventurers! read more

Not only was the service amazing (kind greeting, helpful with menu), but the food was something off the charts. We had the moo brisket sandwich, fries, and beans with brisket. The sauce was great, meat was tender as hell, bread was perfectly baked, fries were fresh and crispy, beans had a great smokey flavor. Location was right on the water with gorgeous view. Stopped here on a Friday at a little after 11:00AM and wanted a breakfast. I was told that they had stopped serving breakfast. So, I ordered their Tri-tip sandwich on a soft roll. I was expecting it on a sourdough roll, and it was on a soft roll. Also, the meat had been drenched in this very sweet steak sauce, which I would have not wanted. The setting is nice and the people are super friendly. Unfortunately we found the food a bit underwhelming. The crab sandwich was goopy and light on the crab. The fish tacos were fine. The 14-hour brisket sandwich was good... the meat was indeed tender... but it needed to be a bit saucier. What can be better than a hot bowl of clam chowder in Bodega Bay? I finished my work in Bodega Bay and headed to the world famous Spud Point Clam Company for a quick lunch. On my way, I passed Ginochio's. I've always wanted to try it so I pulled over and checked the menu via Yelp. They have chowder too, but different. Theirs is Clam-Scallops Chowder. Prices looked reasonable so I dropped in. The staff was friendly and the menu was clear. They have a few tables indoors and a beautiful, clean outdoor seating area too. After ordering, I washed up in the restroom and was pleased to see (and smell) that it was clean. Super clean. I can see why they have a 100 Health Score! The chowder was great. So was the Goat Rock coffee. It better be if it's named after Goat Rock. The view of the bay and Spud Point Marina was splendid. I enjoyed watching a few sailboats and a kayak, splashing through the water. If I could offer a suggestion, I would say that the chowder is definitely worthy of a real, re-usable bowl. Digging for the last drop, I was worried I might be swallowing some paper from the disposable bowl. Still, 5 Stars. I'll be back. read more

I recently went down south and visited a few southern BBQ restaurants. Ginochio's Kitchen beats them all. The best brisket I've ever had so flavorful it doesn't need any sauce beyond the natural juices of the perfectly cooked meat. Cooked just right, the brisket is soft and tender enough to fall apart in your mouth but tough enough to stay together on your fork. Everything on this menu fits these standards. The meat is smokey and full of flavor making everything down south taste bland and dry by comparison. I high recommend the brisket nachos. Best nachos I'm the land. What a nice group of people. I had a lovely conversation with the woman at the counter, she grew up in the East Bay so we had a fun time talking about how things have changed. They were very kind, letting us use the restrooms while we were waiting for our sailing trip, and even threw in an extra donut for my daughter when we bought one to go. We are camping at the Dunes and walked over for breakfast. It did not disappoint! Coffee and mimosa were tasty (mimosa sign is tiny but the drink is huge and in a plastic cup which add to the flavor somehow...). We got the brisket hash and brisket burrito and both were tasty. Brisket is high quality and was the star. We also tried the monkey bread and that was DELISH! We will be back! This review is mostly for Ginochio's Kitchen Cooking Classes, although I bought breakfast (takeout) there as well. Wanted to talk about our family taking a cooking class at Ginochio's Kitchen in Bodega Bay. We rented a house in Bodega Bay for the weekend, and in looking around for things to do, I found that Ginochio's Kitchen offers cooking classes in the evening (they are open for breakfast and lunch 7am3pm). I signed up my husband, MIL and our two teenage boys to make focaccia. THEY LOVED IT. Arrived a little before 5pm, they were immediately greeted warmly by the owners and their daughter. The restaurant was pre-set with tables of ingredients and tools. Paul is the baker of the family and spent time talking to my family about yeast and making bread. I wasn't sure if our boys (being teenagers) would enjoy the class, but they had a great time. The class is less like a technical cooking class and more like spending an enjoyable few hours with a close family friend. Our family was offered wine, sodas and bottled water throughout the evening. When my family finally got back to our rental house, I was amazed to see SEVEN trays of focaccia - three baked, four unbaked. They made 1) a pizza type with pepperoni, 2) clam and garlic, and 3) one with artichoke dip on top - yummy! A very enjoyable time, and highly recommended if you're in the BB area. By the way, even if you just stop by to eat their delicious food, take a look at the tables. My MIL was telling me how Paul made the tables himself, and they are beautiful! Also, I stopped by the following morning to pick up breakfast, and I can vouch that their food is delicious! (Our kids especially enjoyed the s'mores monkey bread.) read more

Have been wanting to try out the ribs here, but they were out, so we tried 1/2lb brisket. It was tasty, flavorful, but a bit dry. BBsauce in a little cup was good, but not enough for the drier brisket. I should have asked for more had I known. For $20 we expected a little better. It was served with peices of dill pickle. Usually the only dining choices that can found on the main drag off Hwy 1 offer basically the same thing...some sort of Fish & Chips...We just can't do another piece of frozen fried fish!!! We drive in from the SF Bay, so we're spoiled by great options. Their fresh homemade food is incredibly good..house smoked meats,(my wife and I love the Brisket!) family pasta recipes and the freshly baked Carmel Bacon Monkey Bread is worth writing home about! This place has only been open a month and we really enjoyed coming here. We came for breakfast on a sunny day. We chose to sit outside it was so beautiful. The view is absolute five star. We just had basic breakfast eggs red potatoes toast and bacon. The bacon was outstanding and plenty of it especially for the economical price they charge. It is not a sit-down type atmosphere as you order and then they buzz you when your order is ready. Our breakfast was served on a paper plate which we knew we were getting which is fine with me for a casual restaurant. We will definitely come back when in the area. They only serve breakfast until 11 a.m. but have a fantastic lunch menu and they are open until 3 p.m. read more

Told us it would be 20 minutes for 1 order of $16 fish tacos which turned to 45 minutes and wasted a piece of our limited day. Taco was a 2/10 at best and can only give it that much because it was served with avacado and a "mango" salsa even though there was maybe 5 tiny pieces of mango in the entire side of salsa. The fish was absolutely terrible, dry and flavorless. Maybe their other dishes are where the reviews are coming from, but the fish tacos aren't it. read more

The greatest spot in northern California. The vegetarian lasagna was amazing!!! We also had the seafood chowder which was world class. Going to Ginochio's for breakfast or lunch is a treat because of the beautiful backdrop of Bodega Bay in and of itself. The fact that the coffee is awesome, food is great, wine list is extensive and the people there are friendly, makes it a great experience ALL around.
