Great location on the Capitol Square! They seem to be consistently busy with a line over the lunch hour, but people only need to wait a few minutes for their order to be ready. Their staple menu items are great, but I also really enjoy when they offer specials. I always order the special as something different to try.

Finally got to try this food truck! I got there a little bit before they opened at 11:30am on the Square. I ordered the pasta salad for the day and a piece of focaccia. It's a very generous size so plenty for two meals. The chef makes his pasta and breads from scratch and the quality is fantastic! I will definitely come back.

Common Pasta delivers freshly made pasta from a small cart near the Capitol, and it's as good as pasta you can find in a sit-down restaurant. They have three choices a day. We went on the later side for lunch, so they were already sold out of one dish, but that was okay with us because the one we really wanted to try was the ragu. (The mac and cheese also sounded amazing. Next time.) Made with rigatoni, beef short rib, tomato, and parmigiano reggiano, the ragu was an excellent choice for lunch. The pasta was perfectly cooked, and the sauce had so much rich and meaty flavor without feeling too heavy. Even better, it was only $8.50, very affordable for the amount of food they gave. We would definitely go back to Common Pasta.

Pasta food cart! I mean come on, why did it take this long for one to emerge in Madison?! Anyways, I got to try their mac n cheese dish today and it was very satisfying. It took a while but expected for food made-to-order. What was unexpected was the restaurant quality. The mac n cheese has three different cheeses: cheddar, gouda and parmigiana-reggiano. Along with spicy pork sausage, chili soffritto and breadcrumbs. The mac n cheese was smooth and creamy, not too thick. Perfectly portion dish and the distribution of ingredients made every bite as delicious as the other. I'm already eyeing up the next dish to try - the Ragu: bigoli, beef shortrib, crimini and parmigiana-reggiano. Also, they are now located on the 200 block of MLK.

My pesto pasta was absolutely delicious. My work is located on the square and since I bring my lunch from home, I never had a chance to venture out to the food trucks. Today, I forgot my lunch at home, so I needed to buy lunch. I decided to get common pasta after a quick comparison of all the other food truck options mainly because the ingredients on their menu intrigued me. The pesto pasta has almonds, squash , and argulua. The almonds added a nice, crunchy texture while the thinly sliced squashes provided a nice taste to the pasta. I need to start forgetting my lunch at home more :)

Common Pasta is a food truck on the Capitol Square that is a great lunch visit. It is a bit expensive for a lunch, but the food is delicious and worth it. I ordered the pesto pasta and it was fantastic. They topped it with pecans which made it taste even better. The garlic bread, though, was by far my favorite. My order took awhile to get to me, but the wait was only about 8-10 min. So, just make sure you allow yourself enough time if you're venturing out on your lunch break.

Common Pasta is my go-to comfort lunch. The ragu is my favorite. I sometimes venture into the pesto or the special. The noodles are homemade and cooked perfectly, and the sauces are flavorful. Plus, each entree is served with a homemade caramel. The service is friendly and quick. Credit cards are accepted. And the cart itself is nicely designed and clean. Highly recommended.

Cart has a neat design. Plus a heater for cold days

The ambiance of the restaurant is a little on the nicer side, but they do allow casual attire. 10/10 recommend and can't wait to come back for the wine flight with the in house Somm.

Drip coffee was delicious to start. I had the lobster fettuccine and there was PLENTY of lobster in it. Pasta tasted fresh and it hit the spot! Some of our party got the French toast which looked amazing and I'll probably try next time-- peaches and pecans with it! A few of them ordered bacon on the side too and it came with plenty of it, 3-4 long strips. Cannoli was the pastry I chose and it was the perfect sweet treat. Filling had cinnamon and was dipped in pistachios, which I will be back for! Ella was our server-- simply amazing! Super attentive, knows the menu like the back of her hand, and went above and beyond for us many times. Michael was one of the hosts who went out of his way to practically give us a photo shoot to capture my friend's special day. Beautiful restaurant with an elevated feel. Open environment while still making the table feel private. They were piping pastries while we were there which was fun to see. Went on a summer Saturday around 11, and if you're from Madison, you know that means the farmer's market (aka, make a plan A/B/C for parking, plan plenty of time to get there and be patient with the crowd outdoors).

I also love being in restaurants where they really bring in the traditions of the cuisine. For apps, we shared the eggplant fritters (which were amazing!), burrata and salad. Must get the eggplant fritters, they were little balls of eggplant delight! And I am a huge eggplant parm fan so this was right up my alley. For my main, I opted for the shrimp scampi with homemade pasta! I loved the homemade pasta! However, I felt the sauce was very light. I wish I could've ordered this pasta dish with the san marzano sauce. I think that would've made the flavor pop more for me. And for desserts, they were also incredible. Tiramisu, cannoli and the lemon sorbet! Highly recommend the lemon sorbet, was such a strong lemon flavor. Overall, definitely recommend in the Madison area, one of my favs so far!

Pasta cooked very nicely and a fantastic flavor profile on the sauce & meat. Pizza is also decent; I'd get it again although I I much prefer the Novanta in the area. I didn't like sauce on the pizza and the cheese & crust were only okay. I'd come back again.

My boyfriend's family and I came for a Sunday dinner and despite being a larger group, we were able to snag a table immediately. Don't let that fool you though - this place is popular and we seem to have gotten one of the last tables available. When it came to food and drinks, I got a white wine sangria, which I really liked, but it only came with an orange wedge on the side of the rim. I was disappointed because I was expecting fruit in the sangria. It wasn't a big deal, and was an okay drink. When it came to food, Lombardinos had a couple specials, one of which was a wood grilled broccoli and cauliflower appetizer, and their blueberry salad. We also got the calamari and olives. Overall, I really enjoyed all of the appetizers. We then all got our own entrées - unfortunately they were out of the veal entrée for some of our family members. I ended up getting the scallops which I thought were overcooked, and I didn't like the couscous that came with. It was too acidic and the roasted tomatoes that came with the couscous didn't help with the acidity levels. However, my boyfriend did share some of his crab and clam linguine. I really liked that dish, but they were out of clams as well, so it really was only a crab pasta. I hope they are able to offer their full menu in the future, because I think I would come back, but only if they had some of those dishes available.
