I remember when Frank and Gino's came to Baldwin. It's a staple on Atlantic Ave and it's good to see that they are still there. The quality has not changed and you can get some good pizza and dishes here. They make the food quick and I've never had an issue with them being behind or not being ready again a time they gave me. They help reduce food waste by working with Too Good to Go. That's a huge plus for working with a local business. I ordered chicken parmigiana platter with a salad and I was able to spread it out over 2 meals. Great portion of food! read more

I love Gino's. Whether it is the pizza or an Italian dish, I am never disappointed. I am always greeted warmly when I enter the establishment. Frank is the best and is always willing to help me out with community events that I plan in Baldwin. Originally from New York, but I've lived in SW Florida for the past 14 years. Nearly no place in Florida, can you walk into a pizza shop and order single slices of pizza, more or less the variety they have in New York. Born in Brooklyn, my husband says if the slice of pizza is thin enough where you can fold it in half, it's the perfect pizza. Gino's sincerely has, not only the best pizza, but everything on their menu is top notch. Ordered two pies today from Gino's today. They even called me back to tell me they were ready.. talk about great service! I got one plain and one with fresh spinach. While the plain was quite good, the spinach pie was absolutely delicious. Both crusts were rather perfect, with the right combination of crunchy and chewy. Pizza is the best around. Dishes on the other hand...meh. I ordered the eggplant rollatini appetizer. It was basically a giant blob of cheese with some slimy eggplant buried in it. SO much cheese that there was hardly any room for sauce! Gino's, if you're reading this: fry the eggplant and put way less cheese. I basically ate a dish of melted cheese for dinner. And scrape your ovens more often. Slices are always black on the bottom. (I worked in a pizzeria. Gotta scrape those ovens!) read more

My favorite pizza spot closed so I've been on a hunt for a new restaurant to take its place. We ordered pizza to be delivered via UberEats and the food came quickly and super hot. We ordered a half pepperoni Sicilian pie and at Caesar salad with chicken. I thought the pizza was pretty good and it would definitely order it again. The Caesar salad was meh. The chicken was good and the croutons were ok but the dressing was more of a vinegary texture rather than a creamy dressing that I was expecting. It wasn't terrible but I probably wouldn't reorder. I have ordered from here a few times, and each time it moved down a tier. My last order, and it will be my last time ordering from here; I ordered two slices of pepperoni well done. The slices were far from well done. When I picked up my first slice the cheese and pepperoni slid right off the slice. The second slice I knew what was coming and was able to keep the pizza together. The slices were soggy from all the oil and grease. So not worth the $8... The girl who took my order was very nice though. Pass on this Gino's location. read more

This is my wife's neighborhood when she was young. (we now live in Chicago) This was the site of her fave Pizza joint (find my Yelp here for the now-defunct Vincent's wot used to reside here). We HAD to try it during a recent visit. It was VERY much like Vincent's-the pie was good--VERY good! NewYork pizza joints have a "hot case" where there are a bunch of pies and slices, you point and pick-they toss it in the oven, and you're gone. Maybe you want a little customization (like I add anchovies) no problem. Nothing is marked in the case-so it's a matter of point to what looks good and it usually is. I had a slice of "Grandma Vodka" and another of "Escarole pizza". Never had either-both were fab. There's a limited area in back where you can sit and eat your pie. Order it at the counter, and the girl will bring it back. Hopefully. We only wish the service was as good as the fare. There have also been reports of prejudicial problems here. We didn't see it, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen. Frankly we had lousy service here, too-and we are not of the ethnic group reporting the problems. Maybe this place just has lousy and surly service no matter who or what you are. It's a damned shame 'cos the food is top notch. I would rather they had a sign saying "There are no waitresses-come to the bar for everything", than sitting there waiting for the waitress to stroll by and ignore us. Salty pie is only redeemed by cold drinks, and we waited and waited for the waitress to refill ours. The place was perpetually busy-but there was a lull when we left, and we had a chat with the previously surly guys at the counter who were nice as...pie then. Maybe it's like the Seinfeld soup nazi-they're military when in business mode. It doesn't sting as much when you know what you're going into--and the payoff is good food. read more

That's it... No more ordering from Ginos!! Tried it twice for the holidays. The first cold and soggy greasy pizza. The second time I ordered, part of the order was missing, and the dish was still cold. Not to mention the extremely rude owner when you call in to let them know they screwed up. Major attitude and barked off some comment along with they're busy and can't send someone right now. Had no choice but to get in my car and go there, with my half order and ice cold. Got my soup and side salad but not after listening to the owner yell at the girls taking the phone orders and speak to them in a harsh tone and callous language. I ordered two pies. One was supposed to be half pepperoni. When I got it home there was no pepperoni. I was charged for the pepperoni. I called Gino's and they suggested I bring the pizza back! I asked for a credit for the pepperoni to be put back on my credit card. They reluctantly said they would do that. They never did. Hardly an apology and didn't get the refund. Well.....I'm a huge fan of their marinara slice!...Best around!.... With that said had a huge let down tonight which was a VERY BUSY Friday night. Ginos problem is that they do not know how to manage the walk in patrons.....there was NO selection of pizzas by the slice ( pie for the house)....I asked if another chicken parm pie would come out and they just grunted NO. I was pissed......went over to Lia's in Oceanside......fantastic pies, the place was wall to wall customers and a line......BIG DIFFERENCE THOUGH....EVERY KIND OF PIE by the slice and constantly refreshing them....I was in and out with my slices in 10 minutes.......SORRY GINOS of Baldwin...you lost me. read more

I ordered through GrubHub for lunch. The caesar salad was wilted and overloaded with dressing. The croutons were soaked; no crunch. I didn't ask for chicken but they gave me chicken anyway, so I probably owe them $. Since I didn't eat the salad, I guess they owe me $, lol. I haven't had this experience with them before, but still on the search for a decent Caesar salad in the area. I ordered through GrubHub, but on the timer, it says 'being delivered by Ginos themselves' so IDK why I paid for a delivery and service fee through GrubHub. :( read more

This place has gone downhill. It's very disappointing. Took a while to get someone on the phone, placed and order, and was told 30 minutes. Showed up they told me it would be a few. Everyone was just standing around. Only 1 guy hustling to help customers and be attentive. My food came from the back and no one said anything. They threw it ontop of the oven to keep warm, which is great for a salad. Finally the hustling bearded guy asked me what I was waiting for and I gave him my number. It's all sitting there while the other 4 guys are standing around chatting. Pizza wasn't crispy as requested. The salad was gross and lettuce looked dirty. Eggplant parm had a horrible taste. It's just plain roasted eggplant with cheese and a sweet tomato sauce. Add some herbs to the sauce, something. Disappointing. Wish them well, but not coming back. This place is okay. Not bad. But not fantastic. It's my sister's go-to place to order and it was no different on my most recent visit down state. Now I grew up on NY style pizza and, living in WNY, really appreciate when I get to have a good NY slice. There are a good number of slice options at the counter but there were no plain ones and no pepperoni, which both seem pretty standard. They had broccoli/chicken, margarita, a ziti pizza, a couple chicken options, some white pizza options.... The slices came out hot a mostly crisped on the bottom, which was good. The garlic knots were initially hot as well. Was not a huge fan of the sauce that came with the garlic knots. Really enjoyed margarita pizza. Parking is easy. Service was quick. Everyone is friendly. Visit Date: August 10, 2016 August 10 is my most recent visit. Every time I visit my mom with my new son she orders pizza from Gino's. I think it's my bribe for bringing her grandson over. The pizza here has never disappointed me. I don't know if I would say it's spectacular but it's a pretty good average slice of pizza. It's always cooked pretty well, never burnt or under cooked and the cheese, sauce and bread ratio is done well. Sometimes my mom will happily watch the baby while I go pick up the pizza. The staff I deal with is very friendly. One time they accidentally charged me for regular slices of pizza for my husband when I got toppings on it. I offered to pay the difference but they kindly let it go and just charged me for the regular pizza. Pretty good pizza place here! read more

I ordered my mom a small square Chicken Marsala with mushrooms slice($3.75) and a small bottle of Budweiser($4.00). She really enjoyed both but for $7.75. Idk.. I was so disappointed today. I had one of the worst experiences of my life. I went to Gino's pizza-ire with my children's to order 2 slices and buffalo wings. I waited on the line for five minutes only to be ignored and watch the man behind the counter service other customers a head of me and my children. I waved and said hello to both man Separate time in hope they would take my order. All they did was look me in my eye and face walked away. Before I left the restaurant I made sure to ask a little louder can I make an order the old man ignored me. (I feel they did this because I am black). I was so embarrassed when I turn away the other customers seen what happening turn their heads away to avoid Making contact with me. I then walk out the restaurant. This is not normal because I have been going to Gino's for years, from this point on I will no longer be a customer. That with the horrible treatment they gave to me and my children......they lost a customer and I plan on letting my family and friends know to stay away. read more

I always end up in this corner for a quick bite to eat. The pizzas good, hot and ready in no time. But I'm a plain or pepperoni type of gal so who knows what the speciality slices are like. They lost stars because the service isn't always friendly. It's very snappy. My friend lives in the area and always eats here-- you think they'd acknowledge that and change the attitude. Nope. The tables aren't always clean. I've never seen them have intense high volume to excuse the level of neglect. I had to step over a puddle to get into a booth once. I moved to Nassau County from Brooklyn in 2007 and one of the biggest hurdles I needed to overcome was finding an authentic Pizzeria to satisfy my constant craving for good pizza. My first move was to Oceanside, where I fell in love with Lia's Pizza - http://www.yelp.com/biz/lias-pizza-oceanside. Their crust was crisp with just enough chewiness, their sauce wasn't muddled with too many components and unlike so many fly-by-night pizza joints, they didn't attempt to drown their mediocrity in awful cheese. Around 2010, we picked up and settled into the Silver Lake section of Baldwin and since Lia's didn't deliver, we figured we would try out some of the surrounding pizzerias before settling to drive back to O-side for Friday dinners. Luckily, we didn't need to search long before we found Gino's. Gino's is everything that Lia's was with delivery! Their pizza is cooked to order (we like ours thin and well done), and has a perfect balance of salty cheese, sauce and crisp yet chewy crust. Their other Italian offerings are equally fantastic. We especially enjoy the Penne w/ Vodka Sauce and Grilled Chicken or a Chicken Parmigiana w/Capellini. They even have a decent Spumoni! It's not L&B's, but it beats what most establishments in the area serve! I've read some underwhelming reviews and I'm scratching my head, thinking they must be the victims of some elaborate hoax or they've yelped their reviews on the wrong page. read more

Best pizza spot in Baldwin (IMO of course). ALWAYS fresh (as far as lunch time is concerned). I've had a few things on the menu for lunch while at work... -Regular slice is great -Buffalo is as well -Chicken roll -- what a deal! $5 for a HUGE, fresh, doughy and a bit crispy chicken roll that is done right with a perfect sauce to cheese ratio. -Pepperoni pinwheel similar to the chicken roll -Gnocchi with meat sauce, and they do not joke around about the meat part. Probably one of the unhealthiest things you could eat, but damn so good. And its $10, and could easily feed 2 people. The decor is really nice for just a quick walk-in pizzeria, but a lot of people dine-in as well. Great owners that care about their customers and business in general. read more
