We really enjoy the food at Gino's. The 4 stars instead of 5 stars is ONLY because it is very difficult in trying to find a parking spot out front because it's in such a busy area. Otherwise, we never had any issues with any of the food we ordered, whether it be eating in, getting take out, OR having it delivered. The pizza crust is NEVER burnt, and they are not stingy with the cheese on it either. The pasta entrees are just as good. Their tomato/marina sauce is very good, a real Italian sauce, flavorful. Their garlic knots are very good too and NOT overly baked, are not dry, and you can really taste the garlic though not overly done. PERFECT. The wait staff is always polite as well. About 5 pm this evening, we ordered a pizza delievered from Gino's, 1/2 pepperoni and 1/2 extra cheese. It arrived 1/2 pepperoni, but without the extra cheese. I called to have the cost of the extra cheese credited back to my credit card, and first was told they only offer "store credit" even when the issue is their own fault. I then was put on with a man claiming to be he who actually made the pie, and this person insisted it had extra-cheese when it did not, and refused my refund of..what...60 cents?? And then he hung up on me. So he gets to keep my 60 cents or thereabouts, but in exchange I will never spend another dime there and I will let everyone know how they treat customers and to avoid the place. IF that was extra-cheese, shame on you. IF it wasn't (and it wasn't), you should know it costs far less to keep a customer than it does to replace one you've chased away. read more

Does this look like a $21 personal pan pizza to you? Not exactly loaded with toppings is it? I ordered a personal pan no cheese with prosciutto, artichokes and Mushrooms. Not only did a $8.95 personal pie turned into a $21 pie But they charge me $3.50 for each additional topping never mind that I requested there be no cheese. I only order pizza from Gino's under duress because my kids like it the best. I ordered from them online last Friday and paid with a card. The pizza arrived and the driver told me I hadn't paid so I figured something had gone wrong, so rather than check I called Gino's and whoever picked up the phone charged my card. About an hour later I looked at my bank account and sure enough, they had changed me twice. I called right away and was told they were really busy and the manager would get back to me. 5 hours later I called again and was told the manager had left for the night so could I call back in the morning. I went in in person on Saturday morning and was told the manager would look into it (they acknowledged I'd been charged twice so why not do the refund there and then?) and do the refund. Sure enough, it's now 3 days later and no refund. I basically paid $150 for 3 pizzas and I am really frustrated. I have heard from two other friends that they ordered online and when the driver showed up they were told they hadn't paid. They weren't so gullible though and told the driver that they had paid online. One other person told me they did end up paying twice. The food is good, but I'm never ordering from them again. Edit: 6 days later I phoned them again to find out what was going on, and the owner called me back to say he had put the refund through the day before. During the phone call he told me all the reasons why they can't track an online payment and how it wasn't their fault that they charged me twice and they needed to wait 5 days before they could see if both payments had gone through. I had clearly been charged twice and two receipts, which the manager had already acknowledged the day after it happened. The owner kept talking over me during the call and never actually apologized at any point. I did get the refund the next day, 6 days after being overcharged. So disappointing. Never going back again, and yes, Gino's you have done this before to other people, despite telling me to the contrary on the phone. read more

As long as you are very careful to be specific and clear while you order, you will be very happy with this food. All of their heroes and pizza are the absolute best around. Good portions, flavor, freshest hero bread around. If you have any sort of food allergy or food sensitivity DO NOT EAT HERE. I have celiacs disease and I can not eat gluten and when I do I get very sick from it. My family used to order from Gino's all the time without any issues. The last time that we ordered from them instead of sending us a gluten free personal pizza they sent us a regular personal pizza and I was sick for DAYS. When we called to tell them that there was a mix up of our order the girls on the phone literally didn't care at all and hung up on us. We also spoke to the owner and he really didn't seem to care that he basically poisoned me and I was sick to my stomach for days. No apology. Nothing. I have never been to a restaurant that has little to no care about their customers health and didn't even apologize for their mistake. Don't offer gluten free items if you aren't even going to make sure you are giving people what they ordered. An absolute disgrace. There are better places to get your pizza around here. First time experience at Gino's of New Hyde Park was a great experience! I received a $50 gift card from a former student and decided to give it a try, I mean why not? Well, it certainly won't be my last time ordering from here. I had a new dish- eggplant lasagna with a mushroom pomodoro sauce. It was delicious. It was cooked to perfection. My dad enjoyed the eggplant rollatini with a side of spaghetti. Luckily, the spaghetti was cooked just the way he likes- soft. Gino's is our local go to stop for pizza it's usually very good. The other night I went for dinner and ordered chicken Marsala and it was terrible. I usually don't complain but it was chicken in a brown gravy no wine and sweetness. I told the waiter and he said oh ok went in the kitchen and never came back I didn't know if they were making a new dish or not. After a few minutes I asked is a new dish coming out and he said oh no I didn't tell him. At that point a manager came out and felt bad and offered to make me something else and I kept it simple with penne al a vodka with grilled chicken and that was just fine. read more

Their customer service sucks... Spoke to two people, a much older man and a younger woman both with nasty attitudes. They hung up the phone before I can even give them my credit card info. We recently hosted an event in their beautiful new party room. Andrea was very helpful during the planning process and everything went well that day. The room is spacious, attractive, and has its own entrance. I would definitely recommend this room for showers, baptism parties, etc. The food was also very good, and I've been back since to eat in their restaurant. This place has seem to be getting worse and worse. If they don't get their act together they will lose all their customers! From the way the boss always yells at his workers in front of customers to the nasty attitude from the phone staff. This place needs a better structure on not messing up orders and having people who are kind and friendly! Nothing worse than going in on a Friday night and being told "What do you want" or being screamed at on the phone when they don't understand your order. The usual driving staff and phone staff has gotten worse during the years. Even the pizza men. Every time I go in I see different staff. I consider my self a pizza snob. I am extremely picky about every aspect of the pizza I am eating. I have to say Gino's blew me away in a way I would not have expected. I decided to order the Dieters Delight Pizza, which only comes as a personal pan pizza. This pizza is made on a whole wheat crust with fat free cheese. I was not expecting much at all being that I knew what I was getting into, especially with my choice of cheese. This pizza came out amazing, the sauce was well balanced, crust was crispy enough, and I could not even tell the cheese was diet. I ate the whole personal pizza, which by the way could of served two people. I did cheat somewhat and go with the sliced (not crumbled) sausage on top. I could not have been happier walking out of Gino's. Oh and btw they have a pizza with a garlic know crust on it, you gotta see this. I am trying next time I go to Gino's read more

Love this place. We order from there a lot. The crust has the perfect crunch, and the pizza isn't too thick or thin. They have this great specialty pizza, it's 4 different types(margherita, white cheese, vegetables, and I forget the last one but it had onions) of meatless pizzas in one. They have a meat version of the 4 in 1 but not a fan of that one because most of it had chicken in it and I'm not a fan of chicken on my pizza. read more

Gino's is a local favorite in our town, and the pizza definitely shows it! They always have a good variety of slices in the showcase, like a salad slice, chicken marsala, and much more. My favorites are definitely the garlic knot pizza and the ziti slice. The best part of the garlic knot pizza are definitely the garlic knots themselves, which come right off the crust. Best garlic knots I've ever had in my life! They're so buttery and soft, but they still have a good amount of garlic. I also love to order the penne alla vodka from here - it's a classic, but I always seem to think it needs a little more salt. Kinda pricey to order for dinner - we got a large pizza and a pasta dish and were already up to $40, but worth it for the awesome food! read more

Just wanted to let everyone know why I will not be going to Gino's of New Hyde Park ever again! I went in around April to plan my son's graduation party, I sat with Joe (the owner) and discussed all option and we came to an agreement on a price and menu. I was told at that time to come back a week before graduation to finalize and give a head count. I went back to Gino's about a week and a half before graduation to finalize everything, I did not talk to Joe at this time, there was a young lady that helped me, she pulled out my reservation and told me a very different price then was discussed and also said the 4 children I have coming all under 4 years old, I would be charged for ($20 per child), I said you're kidding right, all they would have is a slice of pizza at best. I informed her that was incorrect, she called Joe he was in his office, if I had to guess, he told her ok for the price I said and not to charge me for the kids. All seemed good, I left and went about my day. The following day I received a message from Joe, "Maria please call me", I called back and that's when everything changed. I was pretty much called a liar and told there was no way he could "honor the price we sat down and discussed and agreed upon, he never said that price". Then started naming all these things I said I was not getting for my party, I said Joe that's not what I'm getting, I'm getting this and this. He kept trying to get me to agree to more than I wanted, I told him we agreed on the price back in April, he said he didn't, I said I don't know what to tell you, Joe, I don't go around to restaurants and make up my own pricing. He finally came up with a new price, $5 more per person than originally agreed on, I said Joe what am I supposed to do, I have a little over a week before graduation and there is nothing I could do. I agreed to the higher price because I really had no other choice and wanted to have a nice graduation day for my son. Graduation day arrives, we go to Gino's and Joe is there, never says anything about the conversation we had, we go about our day. There are a few errors with food and small things, I let it go. I want this to be an enjoyable day for my son, family, and friends. Finally, the moment of truth, the bill arrives, I was charged the higher price that I had to say yes to or I would have no place to go and I was charged $20 per child, please keep in mind total they had 2 plates of pasta with butter, that's it. The other 2 eat what the parents were already eating. I was ready to lose my mind but, I didn't say a word, I paid the bill and just left. I want everyone to know that in my opinion Joe the owner of Gino's in New Hyde Park is a liar and a sneak and should never be trusted. I know a lot of community organizations use Gino's for a lot of things, I would like you all to think twice before using Gino's, this is how he treats residents of New Hyde Park, with such disrespect. I do not like to be called a liar, I do not lie. I have no tolerance for a liar and once you lie to me I'm done with you! read more
