    Stopped here after a visit to the Field Museum to try the talked-about Chicago deep dish. Service here was great, and the pizza was delicious. I overestimated the 10-inch size and should have stuck with a personal pie since it was just me. The personal would've been just fine since the 10-inch can feed up to 3 people. The wait was about 30-45 mins to get the pizza, but it was well worth it. Very delicious, especially with the Calabrian chili honey sauce that was served on the side. As a New Yorker who swears only by New York-style pizza, I recommend trying the deep dish at Giordano's! The service was also 10/10, and the ambiance was pretty calm and quiet, as it was the middle of the day on a Tuesday and not busy at all. Come hungry and ready to eat!

    This place is a short walk from the Field Museum. We came for lunch, and upon entering we were immediately seated. Nice artwork on the walls, it was warm in comparison to the temperature outside. We had Calamari, cheese wedges, a deep dish, a tavern style and the lasagna. All the food was good, but the Calamari was exceptional. I've never had it with banana peppers and lemon rings, but I absolutely loved it. My hubby loved his deep dish, but the bell pepper was under the cheese so I couldn't pick it off. It was a no go for me. I tried my daughter's lasagna and regretted ordering pizza at that moment. It was amazing. I've never had tavern style before, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. The flavor was good and the ingredients seemed very fresh. I would definitely come back for the lasagna and the Calamari.

    Mmmmm.....pizza. Me love pizza of all types. A group of us from our running club gathered here to devour some deep dish pizza after running the Chicago marathon. What better way to refuel after 26.2 grueling miles than with a cheesy deep dish filled pizza? Sure, it was tasty and filling, but I'm still not really about eating pizza with a knife and fork, as this is more of a pizza-souffle to me. I wanted to take a nap after eating a few large pie slices. I did my best to eat as much as I could stuff my face with. I ain't no quitter! Service did as well as possible considering how crowded it was, and they took care of us best they could. A few cold beers bided our time until our pizzas arrived. As this Chicago pizza chain goes it does the job representing deep dish style.

    This was our departing meal heading back home to MIA. Service was very friendly & attentive. Even though there was enough personnel on hand there were tables that were not turned over for a long period of time. Our personal pizza came out fresh but my husband's sandwich was delivered first so he had to start while we waited. He enjoyed the Italian. Overall this is a solid establishment to grab a decent deep dish.

    This is a cute spot to go w friends or your partner for some yummy pizza and good vibes. There are TVs w sports playing and a nice size bar. The pizza was made freshly to order so you do have to wait a little bit, but that gooey cheese pull is worth it! (;

    What's Chicago without deep dish pizza? Giordano's made a solid effort on a busy Friday night. Seated right away, server took our order, all good. Salads were good, so was pizza. The place was a bit noisy but it was busy for sure. Good job.

    Came here on a Saturday and it was busy, as expected. It was a 15-20 minute wait, which wasn't too bad. Got seated and ordered one tavern style, one deep dish, and one Italian beef sandwich. The deep dish and sandwich were off of the lunch menu. The pizzas came out first, they're probably pumping those out constantly. But the non-pizza items took so long to get out of the kitchen and it was just fries, salad, and the sandwich. Everything was really delicious tho. The cheese on the sandwich was an extra $1. Loved the crust on the deep dish, but it's too tomatoey for me. The tavern style was just a regular thin crust pizza to me. The sandwich was great. The cesar salad was fresh with great flavor and the parmesan garlic fries were great as well.

    "I've been a Giordano's fan for over 30 years, enjoying their pizza at many locations, but the South Loop location is by far the worst. I ordered a tavern-style pizza, and it had almost no cheese--absolutely disappointing. I also had a bad experience with the GM, who did nothing when I reached out. I ordered through DoorDash, and even then, no resolution. I will never be back to this location

    Had try Chicago's famous deep dish pizza. Found this place near the hotel we stayed so walked over for a bite. Ordered the vegetarian small to share as the slices were literally three inches thick and both of us were on a carb restricted diet. Surprisingly not as much dough as we were expecting (plus). Fair amount of stuffed veggies and cheese on top. Honestly wish they added much more cheese to the pizza which would have hit it out of the park for me. Personally, I'm more of a New York pizza fan.

    We just stumbled on this great pizza place and had the most amazing pizza. It was made to order so it was fresh, hot, and delicious. The pie was so thick with great cheese, toppings, and sauce. We had so much that we ate on it several days.

    The kids loved the lightly-fried calamari, the generously-topped thin-crust "super veggie", and the classic deep dish!

    Great Chicago deep-dish! We got takeout for a little party, and everyone had so much, we followed with a delivery! Their calamari appetizer was light, tender, and crispy, with a little lemon and bite-y (but avoidable) banana peppers. Tasty marinara to dip in. The grilled Chicken Caprese Melt sandwich had tasty basil pesto, with a reasonable amount of lots of mozzarella, lightly-marinated tomatoes, fresh greens, and a splash of lemony vinaigrette, all on toasted ciabatta. The real star was the pizza! Our takeout thin crust was the "super veggie", with black olives over the mozzarella, hiding a generous layer of mushrooms, green peppers, onions, broccoli, and spinach. Even the kids liked it! We loved the (mid-September '24) 50-yr-celebration special Calabrian Sweet and Spicy Chicken-Sausage deep dish, designed by a Michelin-starred guest-chef. Tender well-seasoned sausage with a generous cover of a medium-spiced giardiniera, drizzled lightly with not-too-hot chili honey. And it benefited The Lurie Children's Hospital! We added delivery of a classic deep-dish pepperoni, mushrooms, green peppers & onion, always a favorite. Giordano's has never disappointed us, and this was a delicious feast!

    First timers in Chicago so my husband and I had to stop into a Giordano's to try a deep dish pizza while in town. We came in on a weeknight for dinner and they were busy. Service was friendly but a little slow, understandable as they were catering to the influx of diners during the dinner rush. The food was great and the pizza lived up to the hype for us, especially for my husband. Our order consisted of: - Giordano's Sampler (for an appetizer) - a small deep dish Chicago Classic - a personal size deep dish with pepperoni and pineapple Everything from the appetizer to both pizzas was delicious. We especially enjoyed the bruschetta and mozzarella triangles from the appetizer. Both pizzas were also cooked to perfection. Everything tasted fresh and of good quality. We had no complaints and we were thrilled to have leftovers to bring back to the hotel with us. We tried a few other deep dish pizza spots during our stay and Giordano's was, by far, our favorite. We will definitely be back again the next time we're in town again.

    We went while I was there for the Chicago Marathon. Long wait but that was expected considering the amount of people in town for the race. We decided to wait and it was worth it. Deep dish was absolutely amazing. Also had the Greek salad. Very good! Service was fabulous. Highly recommend!

We ordered the pepperoni deep dish and the pepperoni tavern style. The deep dish arrives in a cast iron pan, featuring caramelized crust that edges on burnt for a perfect, crispy crunch. The base is thick and doughy, layered with some mozzarella, a tasty sauce, and slightly charred pepperoni. The tavern style provides a nice contrast. Served cut into squares, it has a solid thin crust that holds up nicely under some melted cheese and loads of flat pepperoni. This remains my absolute favorite deep dish in Chicago, and I go anytime I'm in town visiting. Pro tip: Make a reservation well in advance because walk-in wait times get incredibly long.

My sister made reservations ahead of time, so we got seated quickly on the 2nd floor. We did have to have the large booth cleaned as there was pop on the seats and lots of crumbs in the corners of the booth. Kinda not so cool when we got there at 11:30, shortly after they opened. We ordered a small salad, a large pan pizza (this is not deep dish people...it's more like a round Detroit style pizza) w/just cheese and a large tavern style w/half sausage and half pepperoni w/the pepperoni on top of the cheese. Service was good, if not slow. Of course, you have to wait for the pan pizza, but we knew that. The tavern style came out first, just as we ordered it and piping hot. While the pizza was good, the crust wasn't as crispy as we care for. It was super cheesy...so we got some good cheese pull there. The pan came out and looked good, but when it came to cheese pull, it left a lot to be desired. The caramelized crust is good, but the pan pizza was nothing that blew our socks off. Decent, yes, but not that noteworthy. Would i go back?? All i can say is i wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again, but if i was near in a pinch, it would suffice.

The meatballs are flavorful and filled us up until we get our pizza. We picked the Malnati's Chicago classic - medium. The butter crust is really good and the cheese to meet ratio is balanced. While it is deep dish - it didn't feel like it's super thick, I think the butter crust was the difference. It was quiet when we arrived and we were seated in the dining area by the back in the ground level. There was only 1 group and another couple when we arrived so it wasn't loud. I'm sure when it's peak hours it'll be more festive and busy. Great first meal - order some starters if you're hungry. We started with the calamari, which I really enjoyed. The batter was light and crispy without feeling greasy. We also shared the seafood pizza, duck prosciutto pizza, cup and char pepperoni pizza, and the gnocchi. All three pizzas were delicious, with very thin and crispy crusts. The seafood pizza came with a soup or broth that you could pour over it, which was nice and it also came with so much seafood. The cheese was slightly firm, but the pizza was still flavorful and enjoyable. The duck prosciutto had a noticeable duck aroma, melty cheese, and a rich, savory flavor. The cup and char pepperoni pizza was satisfying as well, especially the pepperoni with its crisp, curled edges. The gnocchi was another standout. It was satisfyingly chewy with a great texture and bold flavor. We finished with the tiramisu, which was light, balanced, and not overly sweet. Overall, the food was delicious and the waterfront setting made for a lovely dinner. I just wish we had been seated at a more comfortable table for our party size.
