The Super Veggie Thin Crust Pizza
    Anita P.

This was my first time getting a thin-crust pizza at giordanos! We got the super veggie pizza which has spinach, mushrooms, olives (we swapped for avocado), and garlic. The staff were really nice and we waited about 25 mins or so for our pizza which is pretty standard. I think our pizza specifically could've had a bit more sauce as there was much more cheese and toppings so the ratio was a bit off. Overall, it was just ok but I'd stick to the deep dish here.

    Really good pizza!!

Came to Chicago in June. Went to the closest Giordanos. Amazing server. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Clean dining room and restroom.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Amazing amazing pizza!! I've never had Chicago style pizza and this was so so good!! Sad i couldn't take it on the plane ride home!

Chicago style deep dish house, specialty pizza

I read the reviews. Here's what you need to know: if you want the deep dish Chicago style pizza you need to know it takes a while to prep and cook (20-40min). Understanding this will keep you from being frustrated over a long wait. I ordered a small deep dish of their house specialty and it was amazing! Ingredients were fresh and the crust is both crispy and flaky on the outside and doughy inside. (Pics below) I love non-chain local food and the ambience of this place is exactly that. Coming in from out of town I felt like I got a good experience of a local Chicago pizzeria. I highly recommend just make sure you're not in a hurry and if you are don't order the deep dish Chicago style pizza. If it's busy, just understand that the staff is going to serve you as quickly as possible... order a salad or an appetizer sit back relax and enjoy it!

We took out the Chicago classic deep dish pizza and chicken spinach pizza. Both of them were too salty for my taste.

Great quality, pizza, pepperoni sausage, and Canadian bacon

Arrived from a long trip from Southern California! My plan was to get a Deep Dish Pizza Giordano's absolutely did not disappoint pepperoni, sausage, and Canadian bacon a little pricey but worth every penny! Chicago is the only place to get great quality ingredients Deep Dish Pizza. Other States don't even come close. Thanks you staff & Giordano's for the experience..

Giordano's was a great experience. The ambiance was warm and cozy, it looked very welcoming. They looked understaffed, though it was just after Christmas. Hence it was a bit slow, but the food was totally worth it. My friend and I ordered the Margarita pan pizza with parmesan crust without pesto. It was really good and saucy. We will definitely be back in the future.

Every time I am in Chicago whether it be for a short layover or to spend multiple days here, I always get Giordano's. I recently discovered the personal sized deep dish which is just enough to satisfy my craving of true Chicago style pizza. Today I also tried the brownie bites dessert, and I was not disappointed! Also, keep in mind that Giordano's delivers to Chicago O'Hare airport. I may have taken advantage of this a time or two when I had a layover at ORD!

Hunks of sausage buried under cheese the size of a small child's fist.

The deep dish pizza at the downers grove location has gone downhill. For 3 times in a row, they made a pizza with giant size hamburger paddies under the sauce. If I wanted a hamburger, I would have ordered from five guys. The manager attributed this to "everyone has different size hands so the sausage is sometimes larger than it should be" and followed up with "and it's laziness". Here's an idea: maybe have a nickel in front of the pizza makers and say "sausage no larger than a nickel" and if they do not follow orders, fire them. Our crust also tasted like it was pre-made and we received someone's cancelled order that they heated up. Done with this joint

Awful disgusting excuse for a deep dish pizza.I feel so disrespected that i paid for this product.Cold and uncut. So thin and lacking cheese

We sat in the far back room, which felt like an overflow room. I wished we sat in the first dining room. (Note to self for next time ) We brought a couple bottles of wine from home. Corkage fee was $25 a bottle. I learned that this restaurant has a dual license so not only can you enjoy their large selection of wine while dining, but they sell their wine for 50% off of the wine list price to take home. Carol, our server, was personable and took good care of us. Our party of five shared two starters, the antipasto and the carpaccio. I was surprised that the carpaccio, although fresh and tasty, did not come with any grilled bread. I always order carpaccio at restaurants and it usually comes with crostini or grilled bread to put the thinly sliced beef on. I think that would be a nice addition to this starter. Taurasi makes homemade pasta so the five of us all had pasta dishes. My husband had Rigatoni Ragu Napoletano with an addition of a side of two meatballs. I had Ricotta Gnocchi alla Sorrentina. Both very good housemade pasta dishes. The side of meatballs were served with no sauce. I thought that was quite unusual. My husband and I split the meatballs so I asked our server to bring some sauce for the meatballs. The meatballs were full of flavor, soft and moist. It reminded me of my dad's meatballs. My friend who doesn't eat meat took a bite and asked for a second one. That says a lot about the taste of the meatballs. Sergio checked on us periodically to make sure we were enjoying our experience and then introduced us to the owner/chef Raffaele at the end of our meal. Raffaele is the one who curates the wine selection. He is a sommelier as well as the chef.. While talking to Raffaele, I asked about the pasta my husband and I learned to make on our trip to Tuscany last fall called pici, and he said he would make it for me even though it's not on the menu. Well, you know I'll be coming back to his restaurant again. Taurasi also hosts special wine events/ tastings and also has live music on occasion in the bar area. Outside of the minor glitches I had with where we were seated, the lack of grilled bread with the carpaccio and the sauceless meatballs, I would recommend this restaurant. The pasta is delicious and the service is good.

My husband and I went for an early dinner, didn't have reservations, it was just us two. We were told an approx 10 min wait, which was fine. As we waited, we noticed a few empty booths for two in the bar - we asked to be seated, and they said of course. Very pleasant front end staff. Problem began with our phantom server, waited a while til someone approached us. No water, no menus, no server. Finally after almost 20 min, the server appeared, he seemed very frazzled. Spoke quickly. We asked for a menu, water, silverware & napkins. At almost 30 minutes, we finally ordered our entrees. I ordered Fettuccine Alfredo, and my husband ordered Arrabbiata Sauce w/spaghetti which came with a small side salad or soup. I chose soup, and my husband had a side salad. And we asked for some bread for the table. We waited another 20 minutes for our salad and soup, and I was given a tsp for the soup, all things considered, it was good. We saw the server twice while we were there, appeared very pre-occupied. The kitchen staff served our pasta meals. My husband said his was good, my Fettuccine Alfredo was also good, but very Al dente. Meantime, still waiting for bread .... All in all, it was a good meal, sometimes servers can make or break it! This individual really needs more training, or a different position. He made our experience very frustrating! But we will definitely give Labriola another chance!

When our server greeted us and asked how we were, we asked how he was doing in return, and he responded that he "could be better." While honesty is fine, it wasn't the best way to begin a dining experience. He appeared slow-moving and unwell throughout the meal, which honestly made us uncomfortable and less confident about the food we were eating. We couldn't help but wonder if he was sick--or possibly just recovering from New Year's Eve festivities--but either way, it impacted the experience. We ordered the chicken carbonara and the spicy shrimp penne, and it pains me to say this, but the food was mid at best. I genuinely feel like I would have enjoyed both the food and the service more had we gone to Olive Garden instead, which isn't something I say lightly. Since it was our first visit, I also expected a bit more guidance. The server knew it was our first time dining there, yet didn't explain the layout or how to exit the restaurant. When it came time to leave, I wasn't sure whether we were supposed to exit the same way we entered--through the kitchen--or navigate the maze-like dining room to find another way out. Overall, it just wasn't a great dining experience, and it's not how I would have chosen to start my first meal out in 2026. Disappointing all around.
