WARNING..DO NOT GO HERE!! It takes a lot for me to give this place 1 star. I would give it a negative star if I could. In over 40 years of traveling for business and pleasure, I have never, ever experienced anything like this. We got a table in the bar and after waiting maybe 10 mins I asked a server who waits on our table. I was informed it was the 1 lone bartender. It's Indy weekend and every seat in the place was full. After 25 min I asked the bartender if we could please order. She said she would get to us when she had time. That the bar seats were her priority. My wife was then able to get a table in the restaurant area. Things went even further down hill. After another 30 min the manager came over and asked if we had been waited on. He couldn't believe we had been there an hour and still didn't even have a drink. It took another hour for our pizza to come out. It was wrong, not what we ordered. It's so late now we knew we would not have time to go to a different restaurant. About 35 min later we got our order. It took over 2.5 hours to finally eat. As we stared around the restaurant during our hours there, we saw countless others complaining as well as children sleeping on the tables. There's plenty more to mention, but hopefully I've made my point. To top it off, the pizza was very soggy. read more

You don't usually think of Chicago deep dish pizza For lunch given the prep time, but the lunch sized pie and lunch special menu involves a quick lunch option which makes this place a great place for lunch. The outdoor seating I is nice and the wait staff have been great every time I have been there. read more

Do not eat here! Zero stars!! Service is terrible I sat at a table for 15 minutes no one would acknowledge me. I went to the host staff, they seated me at another location, Finally got service. However the service I finally did get was just as bad. Barely could be bothered with taking my order and never brought me ketchup for my fries and I have not even mentioned the food, ordered an Italian Beef Sandwich, I have eaten these all my life, this sandwich was pathetic no taste, the beef was dry the gravy was too watered down and didn't taste right at all. I moved away from the Chicago area about a year ago and the thing I have missed the most is Chicago deep dish pizza. Someone where I work in Bloomington said that there was a Giordano's pizza in Indy only an hour away and I'm so glad he told us. I was worried that the food wouldn't be the same as the downtown Chicago locations, but the flavor and atmosphere was identical. The bruschetta was great and the pizza was as cheesy as ever. Great Chicago style pizza my only advice for the owners would be to get some sort of sound dampening in that room it was very loud and it was only one other party with a bunch of children which I don't mind children but sound dampening would be great. read more

I placed an online order at 7:00 pm and asked for delivery at 8:30 to my hotel. At 8:45, I called and was told it was on its way. At 9:05, I called again and was told the driver was pulling in right now. My order was finally delivered at 9:35. It was incomplete. What was actually delivered was delicious, so I will give them credit for that. read more

Not a Quick Hot Lunch We were downtown at a work conference and decided to go to Giordano's for what they advertise as a quick lunch. We all ordered off the lunch menu and it took them 75 min to finally serve our food. The server only came to our table twice in that 75 min and never explained why it was taking so long. Two members of our group had to get up to enquire where our food was and why it was taking so long. Another member of our party decided to get up and leave trying to find quick food before returning to work. We finally asked for a manager who then addressed our table and told us our food was on the house. What was even more upsetting beside the 75 min wait for items off their lunch menu was that when we finally got our food it wasn't even hot. I recommend in the future that staff do a better job in communicating with your customers when there are issues especially when those customers have a limited lunch time which most do when dinning downtown during lunch. read more

Loved this amazing deep dish pizza. It took 45 minutes to get pizza due to being made to order. I would definitely wait again for another one. My husband and I ate side salads and wasn't able to finish a small pizza. Reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. The staff was very nice and the restaurant and bathrooms were clean. read more

The deep dish pizza was good however we ordered the meat lover pizza and the meat was limited. The wings and calamari wasn't the greatest. The thin crust pizza is pretty good. If you're on a budget this isn't the place to go to order pizza. read more

Just got done at giordanos. Watched the kitchen on their phone the whole night in between touching pepperoni and toppings immediately after. No gloves no manager watching. Then we saw manager on his phone in the kitchen too!!! We had a great time! Our server Darryl was phenomenal and played to the personality of our table! We talked about his fiancé and his grandchildren and he asked us about our family and our business. I grabbed one of their frozen pizzas for carry out and it turned out really well. You have to microwave it a little before cooking it and it takes about 45 minutes to in the oven. It needs to rest a little before you try to cut it but it was pretty damn tasty when all was said and done. My house smells like a big pizza pie. You can kind of cut it with a pizza cutter but you'll need a serrated knife to get through the thick crust at the edge. They run about $19 but they're really filling and you don't have to wait at the restaurant. The service was just okay but I liked the way it was designed inside. The prices on their lunch combos seem to be pretty reasonable for all the food you get and I'd suggest ordering ahead of possible. read more

I stopped in to order one small plain pizza (after I tried to call in an order and was hung up on twice) then have a drink at the bar while I waited. Granted it's the Indy 500 weekend however this place desperately needs management. The service was HORRIBLE! I waited over an hour and 20 minutes for one pizza. While I was there 2 different parties walked out on their order and left money for their drinks at the bar. Come on get your stuff together, it's a huge weekend, I don't know if it's just understaffed or people don't know what in God's name they are doing. You should always expect a wait with deep dish pizza! They did an awesome job building and designing. I love how the bar area is separate from the main dinning area. There is a lot of seating, high ceilings and fun layout. The service was awesome - we sat at the bar for speed and they had plenty of spots open. They even have a window for kitchen viewing, which is cool and a good way to kill time. We ordered cheese and spinach and it came out perfect. Just how it's done in Chicago. Key will be to be consistent and find ways to cut time on orders. 0 complaints! read more

My first trip here. Never tried Chicago style pizza. Oven broke so they are closing early today. They comped our appetizer and sodas but a real disappointment for sure. Had an all hands on deck meeting in our office downtown and decided to get Giordano's a try. We have all tried it previously in Chicago at one time or another and was not disappointed. I must admit I was tentative about trying Giordano's after reading other Yelp!ers reviews. I decided to give it a try and was very pleased. I didn't experience the rock hard crust another diner did. Ours was perfectly cooked. The deep dish pizza was good, but 45 minutes is a ling time to wait. Especially sitting on a hard wooden chair. First time here, and the service was astounding! Then, the food came and followed up on the promise of the service :) Calamari was excellently cooked, and the marinara was a perfect side. The bell peppers and artichoke hearts with it was a great addition. The Greek salad was elegant and simple, which is deceptively hard to nail. The margherita pizza is fresh, crisp, and delicious! This is a restaurant. The food was ok, the service was incredibly slow. This is not a place I would expect to spend two hours at.

Ok, so let me start off by saying I lived in Chicago for 10 years and am very familiar with Giordano's. That being said, I really tried to like this location because it's across the street from work and I live downtown so, I thought it would be great. So my wife reviewed them a couple months ago because our credit card info was hijacked when I ordered online (and our cold pizza experience previously). We thought that we'd give them another shot and stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. We were greeted very enthusiastically by the host, seated outside, given menus and then we apparently fell off the face of the earth because we never spoke to another employee before we got up and left. We sat outside for 15 minutes and were never waited on or even acknowledged, even though several servers had to walk right past us. Being ignored should have been strike three (cold pizza strike one, credit card fraud strike two) but, we really like Giordano's so, we ordered a Chicago Classic thin crust last weekend and good grief, you can probably still smell my onion breath through your screen there were sooooooooooooo many onions on it! There were enough onions on one slice to fill the entire pizza! Don't get me wrong, it was still tasty and we ate it but damn! Although the pizza is great when it's on, and I'd recommend it to anyone in CHICAGO, I just can't justify spending that much money for a pizza and not be confident it's going to deliver. If you're feeling lucky, give them a try or, just wait until you can get the original in Chicago. Guess I'll try South of Chicago on Virginia next time I get a pizza craving. read more

I am from NW Indiana.i used to go to the Schererville location when they first opened all of the time,until something happened....they started serving their personal deep dish pizzas not freshly made .at first it was not this way.they serve you pizzas that are probably made the day before, left out, and barely heated up with mounds of sauce on top to try and mask the fact that these pizzas are not freshly made. So i was in Indy and decided to try this location.Exact same thing. I ordered the lunch special with the deep dish pizza.my food came very quickly. The pizza was incorrect when i received it ( no big deal) but when the waitress brought the correct one,only 2 minutes had passed.which confirms what i thought.when the pizza arrived the cheese was still hard,in one clump.the crust was hard and chewy. Not everyone wants their food super fast.Some people,such as myself,would rather have fresh,hot food. What a letdown... read more

Ordered to have delivered to a hotel. When ordering on line, was told I would get a confirmation email which I never received. Was given a 15 minute delivery window. 5 minutes after the end of the delivery window, I decided to call because I had not gotten the email and wanted to verify that they had really received the order. I was put on hold for a few minutes, then told that the delivery guy was on his way. 40 minutes later he called and said he was 1 minute away, was the only delivery guy tonight, and was riding a bike. Extremely disappointed in delivery service and management. We ordered delivery understanding that it was going to take a while as they cook their pizza fresh. They delivery time was estimated at 10:49-10:59. 11:15 rolls around and I call to find out what is going on. The gal that answered told me our pizza was out for delivery and would be there anytime. Finally at 11:40 we get a knock at our door and the pizza has finally arrived....cold. We never received a phone call, email or text letting us know any issues. I called the next day and spoke with a "manager" who was going to look into the issue and promised to call me back the next day. Well, it's 4 days later and I haven't heard anything back. Ordered 4 deep dish pizzas for a work meeting! I had previously eaten here several times and food was always great! I decided to treat my coworkers! They absolutely loved it! I went in the day before to place the order! Staff was great! I called in the next day to make sure it was taken care of and it was! They delivered my pizzas since I was so close to the location! They were right on time and even called me before delivering to see if I needed plates, napkins, forks etc. I thought that was a great customer service touch! Like I previously stated, the pizzas were great! I definitely recommend this place to anyone! read more

The bruschetta, pizza and Tira misu all rate 5 stars. Their human counterparts not so much. I met a friend there last Thursday night. I sat in the waiting area for over 20 minutes before anyone spoke to me. There were no less than six employees who passed within inches of me...nary a one asked me if I needed assistance or offered a greeting. One of the kitchen staff was carrying on a personal conversation with a relative of his in the entry way to the restaurant. I finally got up and stood outside the restaurant to meet my friend who was running about a half hour late. The server was adequate and as I said the food was great.
