I was in town for work and our group tried this place out. Server told us he'd recommend the deep dish stuffed crust, but warned us it would take about 45 minutes to cook. I appreciated the openness and heads up. Meat and more meat was really good pizza. I also ordered some wings while we waited for the pizza that were pretty good too. The service was absolutely fantastic for us, which pushed this review to 5 stars. Our drinks were full the whole time. Server was very friendly and helpful. My previous review got removed. Strange. Let's try again, and I'll try not to be "vicious" or "political." A group in an office with limited lunch time placed an order four days in advance. The order needed to be ready at 11:15am. The Admin Assistant called that morning to make certain the order would be ready. Apparently some Colts players and their friends came in and Giordano's staff decided to fawn all over them and ignore their other customers. Our order wasn't ready until 12:20pm and the food was horrible. Items were missing, the pizza was like cardboard, the deep-dish pizzas were raw in the middle, and the Italian beef had no peppers or au jus. Everything about our experience with Giordano's could not be worse. This restaurant seems to suck at everything except kissing-up to overpaid and over-rated celebrities! Pathetic in every way to the point that I'd recommend Pizza Hut over Giordano's any day. read more

Would like to give no stars. I can't believe this place has managed to stay open for as long as it has. I came here months ago to check it out and left due to all the staff obnoxiously hanging out in the bar. I then reluctantly decided to give it another try. The employees are awful with the exception of Noelle who was very kind to my wife and I. Other than her service, the food was mediocre at best. Leighton was also very rude upon seating us. Should probably look for new management if you want to keep your doors open. On a side note there was no napkins. What restaurant doesn't carry napkins? They were also out of many other food items including desserts. I could go on but would advise that you not waste your time. This place will be closed before you know it. read more

I come to Indy often enough to be familiar with the restaurants around. I always walk by Giordano's but haven't tried it because of the mixed reviews. This time I was in the mood for pasta so I decided to give it a try. I was so impressed! I got the chicken Florentine which is new on the menu. The chicken was perfectly breaded and flavorful. The pasta that comes with it is nothing to write home about, but with a little salt and pepper you would be all set! Also got the meatballs (drool) and a side Greek salad. Service was horrible. Food mediocre at best. Went in at 12:30 with a party of 5. All but one ordered off of the quick lunch menu, and one ordered the GF pizza and a salad. We were told that the quick items was the way to go as they just had some coming out of the oven. The GF pizza came out a good 10 minutes before the salad and the rest of the party's orders. Only one person was offered a drink refill after we had been there for about 45 minutes. Some of the salads were wrong, either included items that were supposed to be omitted, or didn't include items that were standard according to the menu. The GF crust appeared to be store bought and not fresh as expected. Checkout was ridiculous, the server left the check folders in a stack for us to determine who's seat was where, then again brought back and stacked with a single pen for everyone to share. If they were super busy, we would've expected slower service, but they weren't packed and there were many empty tables. I definitely won't be dining here again. read more

Wow. What a great meal. The restaurant was busy and things started off rocky as our table in the bar area may have been forgotten and we weren't visited by a server for quite some time. The host/manager (maroon shirt) said that he would take care of our table and the evening turned around. The food was fantastic and we were well taken care of. Giordano's is the best and I'm so happy they came to Indy. I miss being at home (in Chicago) and being able to get Giordano's whenever. However - we dined here this past weekend and ordered a small thin crust cheese pizza with pepperoni and it took over an hour to receive it. Our appetizer arrived within minutes of our initial order. A thin crust pizza should not take over an hour to bake. It should only take 5-10 minutes longer than that cheesy garlic bread. And it wasn't even busy. Good pizza is worth the wait but over an hour is ridiculous. And it was overcooked when we got it. Sadness. read more

Completely disappointed and will not return is the best way to sum up my experience. I brought an out-of-town guest and my husband here for lunch, both which never had Chicago-style deep dish. I had bragged about it after my experience in Chicago. Unfortunately, this does not come close. The food came out warm at best. However, my husband's personal pizza was cold. I had a side salad which was drowned in dressing. The fries that my guest and husband ordered were old, soggy and cold. It's a shame. This place will only survive by people who don't live here and don't know any better. I will not be coming back for seconds. read more

We ate at Giordano,s Wednesday night and shared a small sausage, pepperoni and mushroom pizza. It was just ok the cheese and toppings were good. The crust was thick and chewy not flaky at all even though it was cooked thru. The service and atmosphere was fine nothing to special. read more

Obviously, it's amazing pizza... absolutely nothing to improve there. The ingredients are fresh, and the meats in the pizza are always top-notch. Overall, enjoyed my visit to this location. We ate in, as I do believe this pizza is always better in the restaurant. We called ahead early in the day to see if they did reservations and were told they are not busy and don't take call-aheads. (I'm not sure if that's true or not.) When we got there around 6pm, there was an hour wait. We asked if we could be seated on the porch as there were tons of empty tables out there, but the host Demetrius said it was actually the kitchen that was backed up, even though they had seating available. Demetrius offered to take our cell number and let us walk around the city for awhile instead of waiting in the restaurant. It worked perfectly - we stayed at the mall nearby and he gave us a call about 10 mins before our table was ready. The waiter we had was okay, and the food was perfect. :) But the real star was Demetrius for going above and beyond to be welcoming even though he had to work with a difficult situation. Well we have been here for 3 hours and still have not received our Pizza. We waited 45 minutes before we were seated and then when we ordered our Pizza we were told it was going to take 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes. Yes they had a volleyball conference in town and a 40 person bday party happened too But really???? We were not told ahead of time that the Pizza would be an hour. Other people that were waiting went ahead and ordered a pizza while they were waiting for their table, this was smart. Still waiting for our Pizza we really hope it will be coming soon. So we walked in and a 45min wait, yeah that's not happening but there was open seating in the bar, which we took. We were told 45min for the pie as it takes that long to cook, which is standard for Chicago style. We ordered the ravioli app and beers and were impressed from there. Watching the guys and gals through the window throwing the dough and seeing the process was eat-tainment. When I order their pizza to go, we never had an issue. When my boyfriend & I went to dine in, service was below average especially for an expensive pizza restaurant. The hostess was rude and not friendly at all. Just seemed annoyed to be there. Our server at least tried to be friendly, but didn't seem overly thrilled to be there either. My boyfriend and I like different toppings on our pizza so we got half pepperoni and half mushroom. They only did two slices of pepperoni and four slices mushroom. Which typically would be fine because my boyfriend eats more than me, but I dropped my second slice (total fail on my part), so I was left with no more slices because I wasn't touching pizza with mushroom in it (I am overly picky, another fail on my part). I left hungry & my boyfriend wasn't a fan of the pizza tonight, so he only had one slice as well. I hate wasting food, especially when we paid $20 for a small pizza, but we only ended up eating two slices. I absolutely love Giordano's pizza and was thrilled that Indianapolis now has 2 locations. However, I will NEVER dine at the downtown location again. While dining with my family at this location I experienced racism like never before. I was so upset that my 8 year old daughter had to be subjected to this. My daughter and I overheard the general manager make racial comments about us because we questioned the temperature of our deep dish pizza after waiting over an hour and fifteen minutes for our pizza. The sad part is that this was the general manager and he assumed that we were looking for a free meal. I simply questioned the fact that the wait time was longer than quoted( which isn't unusual) but the fact that our pizza was room temperature. I really just wanted a fresh pizza. I love dining downtown but if I want Giordano's, I will either drive to the northeast location or just continue to enjoy it when visiting Chicago. I was so upset that I was almost in tears and the fact that my 8 year old overheard the comments just made it even more disappointing. I would highly suggest that if you believe that we are equal that you do not dine in this location because the general manager does not believe in treating his customers like customers more like servants( you get what I give you type of mentality) . I really hate when people play the race card whenever things don't go their way and that really isn't the case. In this situation, I couldn't believe that in 2017 people still behave this way and believe that this acceptable. When I notified the manager that I overheard his comments, he basically downplayed it and walked away. Please think twice before dining at this particular location. It could be the time of day I'm here (3 pm on a Wednesday) but the lunch special/personal deep dish is inedible. I did eat some of the cheese and pepperoni but the crust was impenetrable with human teeth. The fries I had to send back for fresh and they were still just ok. Still hungry, I ordered what the server said was the better of the 2 desserts...the Tiramisu. It was a gelatinous mess. But I managed to swallow the ladyfingers. STILL hungry, but needing to get some work done...here I sit on this beautiful patio taking in this great weather and eating a bag of ruffles I found in my bag from a few days ago. The delivery guys are awesome!!! They came to deliver my pizza in the pouring rain, in the exact time they told me it would be. He was super polite and kind to me when I greeted him at the door. Definitely not the ones from Chicago! The service is horrible! I waited an hour and a half for a pizza at the bar. I finally asked to get it to go and as I was waiting I watched a server in the kitchen picking his teeth with a toothpick and then cutting pizzas. I found the manager and told him only to be told that the guy was a server and wasn't cutting pizzas. I then continued to watch and saw the same guy do it again. I quickly pointed it out to the manager whom also saw him in the kitchen picking his teeth. The manager went back and said something to which I began to get stares from the server and the cold shoulder for on the bartender. We asked to cancel our food and just pay for our drinks....no I'm sorry, thank you or anything from the bartender or manager. I felt as I was being intentionally ignored. And yes we still tipped well more than 20%. Never again! read more

I travel to Indianapolis a lot and this is by far the worst pizza place I have ever been to. The service is terrible. The food is terrible.

It started off rough! I called for reservations & the system announced that was an option. When I spoke to an employee I was advised it wasn't, the system was wrong & "they" wouldn't fix the system even though it has been brought to their attention many times the lady advised. The staff was lackluster & had borderline attitudes. We had 4 ppl helping our table through the evening & there was no continuity between any of them. Almost every time something was put on our table it was slung or dropped. The pasta was extremely chewy & definitely more than al dente & had very little sauce even though the flavor was good of the sauce we did have. It was my 1st time, but my dad has visited the Chicago restaurant & our crust was overlooked compared to what he has had there. The fried ravioli is stuffed with only finely ground meat which tasted gross. Maybe it is their receipt but I've never had friend ravioli w/o some cheese & it just tasted bad. Out of 5 ppl at our table 1 person thought it was decent. I've heard tons of great things about this chain so I'm guessing it is just them working out the kinks at the new location. I'm doubtful I'll visit again...on the + their breadsticks w/ cheese melted on them were really good. They were on the sample platter. read more

Went there with my wife, we were told the wait was 30 minutes, even though there were tables open and no one in the waiting area. They directed us to the bar, where there was 1 server, the bartender. She took our drink order and never came back. While we were waiting, we noticed them seating people in the restaurant. We decided to leave. My wife, wanted to tell the bartender we were leaving, but the bartender didn't even acknowledge her presence. After a minute of that, we left. Terrible terrible service. read more

They actually had the nerve to tell the secretary that the manager wasn't there so if they wanted to complain they would have to call on Monday. Parts of the order ended up being missing, the regular pizzas were like cardboard, and the deep-dish pizzas were raw in the middle and cold. Basically the service and food could not have been worse in any way. Apparently if you're an over-paid athlete who disrespects our flag and our Veterans, then this is a great place to go. Delivered with no giardiniera or au jus, and made for one dry, sad, sandwich. Save your money, and go to Arby's, they have a way better beef sandwich. read more

The Pizza is great but the service and management is sub par. I live right across the street from Giordano's, I ordered a pizza 2/22/2017 and was told the time it would be ready. I arrived at the time stated and was told they just put the pizza in 40 minutes after I ordered it. I refused to wait any longer and left. The managers name was Kendra. She did not even bother to accept responsibility for sub par service. This pizza is not cheap, but it is good. If I am going to pay $20+ for a pizza I expect them to honor their commitment of service I will reach out to their corp to see if they actually care about their customers. read more

We came to Indy from Lafayette and wanted to try something new. Decided on Giordanos and I'm so glad we did! Customer service was great. We ordered the traditional pizza. The only problem was that the restaurant ran out of pepperoni! But the waiter apologized and tried to suggest other options. We weren't too worried about it though. The atmosphere was nice. The food was amazing and the price isn't too bad! Kinda wish the had personal pizzas past lunch time. But overall it was a great experience. read more

Will not be eating here again. First, there are far better pizza places in town (i.e. Jackamos and Bazbeaux, heck, even Donatos is better). Second the service was terrible. The deep dish takes 45 minutes to make, but it took 1 hour, 45 minutes to get our food. It was still the wrong order. After talking to the table next to us (and who came, ate and went well before we got our food), it was clear our pizza was delivered to them. Instead of owning up to their mistake, they kept telling us the kitchen was backed up. After complaining, our food was comped, but they never owned up to their obvious mistake, even after pointing it out to them.
