The staff were absolutely terrible. I had to wait nearly THIRTY minutes to get my water refilled. I had a single refill in over an hour or being at the restaurant. The pizza was the most mediocre pizza I've ever had. My server said it was ready and then ten minutes later bright it out to me - not warm at all. It got cold by the time I ate four slices then I asked for a box from a different waiter to take it to my hotel so I can heat it up... I never even got a box. The entire pizza as well was very undercooked and the cheese was like plastic. It all stuck together like a frozen pizza. The crust was crumbly and more like a cracker than some actual good crust. This is the single worst pizza establishment I have visited East of the Mississippi. It is the worst pizza I have had in the past few years. I will never come back here. Fire your staff. read more

Visited Chicago for the first time and was eager to taste the deep dish pizza. The calamari was good. They had fried lemon as part of the dish. What was most disappointing was the reception with the hosts who were wearing the red Tshirt. We went up the stairs and I tried to avoid the other patrons leaving . The staff were very rude in their interaction with me. They rudely told me to get out of the way and though I tried to explain I am avoiding contact with customers that were leaving they didn't stop their verbal assault. Recommended by a true Chicago native, we came here for dinner during our trip. This is a very personal review as I love NY pizza so I ended up ordering a chopped chicken salad. It was very expensive for a salad but at least it tasted good! With plenty of chicken, greens, blue cheese, tomatoes and some pasta, this was one of the better salads I had on this trip. Unfortunately, even though they were quite empty, the service was very slow and our server often forgot to come and see how we were doing. I did try the deep dish pizza and just a small bite was MUCH too cheesy for me. The crust though, was very nice but all my companions were bogged down after this meal. Usually I order NY style pizza since it's prevalent around here and I enjoy it, but I've been wanting to try this place for a while and have some good, deep dish style pizza since it's been a long time since I've had it. Giordano's did not disappoint! We arrived at a non peak time kind of between typical lunch and dinner time and there was no wait to get a table. By the time we left though, it was getting pretty packed so keep that in mind. It's also in one of the popular tourist areas so it makes sense that crowds show up at peak times. Our server was friendly and attentive. The ambience of the restaurant wasn't really my favorite; it's kind of loud and smaller than I expected, but not bad by any means. We started with an order of cheesy garlic bread and ordered a small deep dish with chicken sausage, mushrooms, and spinach. The server kindly informed us that the deep dishes take about 35-40 minutes and I really appreciated the heads up! It let me know what to expect for wait time which was nice. The cheesy garlic bread came out pretty quickly and I loved that it was served with warm red sauce instead of lukewarm or cold like many places. The garlic bread was tasty and the sauce was good. The pizza was also really good. The cheese pull wasn't as intense as shown on the website and social media, but it was still a great amount of cheesy goodness. The chicken sausage was perfect and less greasy than typical pork sausage. The flavor was good and the crust had a good taste. We both really enjoyed it and it's super filling. We had about half between the two of us (slice and a half each) and it was plenty. I was very excited to try this place, because I had never tried dip dish pizza before. A friend of mine recommended this place and I added it automatically to my bucket list. The place looks nice, with a friendly atmosphere. The hostess at the entrance was super nice. We ordered a tomato, mushroom and cheese dip dish pizza to go. When I tried the pizza I automatically noticed that the top layer of dough was raw. I had to take it out to be able to eat the rest of the pizza (the filling and the bottom part dough). It was Saturday night and the restaurant was understaffed. Knowing how long these pizzas take to cook I ordered ahead of time so it was ready once we arrived. Since there was a 20 minute wait once we actually arrived and we had food ready to read, the manager stepped up and took care of us in a closed section of the patio. THIS is what customer service looks like! He even accepted a coupon for a different location! He could have shrugged his shoulders and made us wait. Instead he made sure we got a hot pizza, great service and cold drinks. The pizza is always amazing. But, what make a restaurant special is how they take care of their customers. I am aware this is a favorite of many but my experience the ambiance was poor, bathroom resembled port-a-potty. The service was fsir bit it took 45 minutes to get our pizza. The pizza itself was bland, lacked any seasoning and appeared that toppings were simply placed on too pf crust because cheese with embedded toppings were falling off. It's unfair to compare the two, they're totally different but both are delicious either way. The Deep Dish is the deepest dish I've ever seen. The brochure the hotel provided included a Free Cheesy Bread coupon (delicious). And a Greek Salad. I don't think we can finish even half of this. This is a legendary pizza born in Chicago. Having been to the original location in Chicago, the quality of the pizza matches up with this chain location, even if the experience may not be the same. This is a deep dish pizza which means any ingredients are baked on the inside of the pizza with the sauce on top. These pizzas are huge and a small is more than enough for 2 people. The only reason this place doesn't get 5 stars is because of the service. I ordered a pepperoni pizza for takeout and ended up getting bacon on it as well. Mistakes happen, but in past experiences the overall service while sitting in the restaurant is pretty poor. It is very slow service and the staff is not very friendly, but not necessarily rude either. They just seem like they are not very happy to be working and serving you.
