The fish was on the smaller end and tougher than I thought it would be. I understand it's Martha's vineyard and things are more expensive there but this was steep for the quality. My friends liked their tacos as well- they just mentioned that having a third taco instead of just the two would have been nice. I would recommend Sandbar though for anyone who wants a fun environment. I'd even go back- but I'd make sure to try something else.

I don't even know where to begin. Normally I wouldn't go out of my way to write a review, but the experience my friends and I had here was too horrible not to share. For starters, we asked the waitress right from the start if she could split the checks for us at the end because we were a party of six and split checks is much easier for us. She seemed very confused/annoyed that we were asking to split the check, but regardless she said she would do it. Afterwards, we ordered our drinks and food and she didn't bring out our drinks until ten minutes after we ordered. The entire time we're waiting for our drinks, she is standing talking to the other employees who are all doing nothing. Finally she remembers that we're dying of thirst, and brings us our drinks. Shortly after, the food comes out. I ordered a turkey sandwich with french fries and it wasn't that great. Definitely could have made it better myself at home, and it was $13...way overpriced. By the end of our meal, the waitress brings us our split checks and we notice that there is an 18% gratuity included in our bill. This was upsetting because we weren't going to tip that high due to the bad service we had so far received, and the fact that no one at my table liked their food. My friend tried asking the waitress to explain why the gratuity was included (politely might I add) and the waitress was clearly annoyed, rolling her eyes and having an attitude. Myself and one of my friends were paying with a debit card, so we gave her the cards for her to go swipe them. I told her that I was putting my meal, and my friends meal, on my card. My friend forgot her wallet, but the checks were already split so all the waitress had to do was combine my check with my friend's check and put it on one card. Then she brings the checks back, which I was supposed to sign, but when I looked at the bill it said the gratuity was $10. Now this isn't rocket science, but my friend's total came out to $21 (gratuity included), my total came out to $14 (gratuity included) so the bill should have been $36. But for some reason when the waitress combined our meals for one check, she doubled the gratuity and the total came out to $41. Now it wasn't the extra six dollars that made us mad, but the fact that we were being highly disrespected by the staff, as the waitress heard us discussing and walked by our table muttering "oh my god" under her breath, while continuously rolling her eyes as we spoke. We could also notice she was complaining to us with other coworkers, as one of the coworkers called us "bitches." I wanted to speak to a manager and not the waitress because of the poor attitude she had the entire night, but I couldn't find the manager, and I was not signing this check when it was overpriced. I stood up and walked over to this girl in the front asking her if she could resolve the issue, and she said she would find someone for me to talk to, but the waitress ended up walking over to me. I POLITELY (and I just really want to emphasize how nice I was when I know that anyone else in this situation would not have been so kind) explained to her that the total should be $36 because she was just combining both of our checks. Instead of admitting she was wrong or asking for help, she tried to defend her theory that the gratuity charge was for the entire table and so each of my friends would owe me a dollar. I told her this was false because everyone had separate checks and their gratuity was already included. However, she wouldn't listen to what I was saying. She told me that most restaurants wouldn't even do split checks, implying that I should be appreciative, and because I combined my meal with my friends, it was confusing. I don't know what she was talking about because I go to restaurants and get split checks all the time. After arguing with the waitress in the middle of the restaurant for five minutes, a manager finally came over asking what the issue was. I explained to her what I was trying to explain to the waitress, and she finally understood what I was saying and refunded me. The way this entire situation was dealt with was extremely frustrating and disappointing. As the customers, the employees should not have been so rude to us, because it's OUR money that they're getting. Instead, we were beyond disrespected right in front of our faces while receiving no help at all. I'm not going to namedrop the name of our waitress because I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt in maybe she was having a bad day, but it is still no excuse for the way we were treated. I will never return to Giordanos again, nor will I say anything positive about their business. read more

LOVE GIORDANO'S!!! First of all their pizza is amazing and by far the best on the Island. My friends and I literally get a slice every time we are in Oak Bluffs, when you are walking by you can't help but stop. Secondly, the amount of food you get for your money is well worth the wait to sit down in the restaurant. I recommend the shrimp & scallop pesto pasta dish or the fisherman special; large dishes that do not spare on the seafood by any means. Besides the food being great the waitresses were efficient and friendly which made the experience even better. read more
