We went there on Fireworks night. Thought we would wait forever, but no! Got a Table of 4 right away. They didn't serve pizza in the dining room because of the fireworks so we went with a full in Italian dinner. Was worth it. A little loud but the place was jumping. Service was great. We've been over to the Vineyard several times over the years but this was the first time eating at Giordano's. We stopped in for lunch and we all had excellent meals. The atmosphere is awful. Between the unrelenting screaming of children and adults talking over each other the floor is so loud I developed a pounding headache. The tables are much too close together and there isn't enough space to put the pizza. Speaking of pizza, the food was very mediocre. Rude, racist staff. Their full restaurant was closed, so we went to their pizza kitchen. The lady at the counter was racist and rude. As we stepped in, her face changed and she looked away. She was impatient when we started to order and even started taking orders from others. While we thought it was something we did, we saw her behave the same with some asian tourists. Waterfront restaurants at locations such as Oak Bluffs, on Martha's Vineyard, usually combine over-pricing with low quality. Giordano's is the exception. Gio's pizza is the bomb. sometimes the line is super long,but it is well worth the wait. I used to drive a cab in O.B. and I ate their pizza once a day sometimes twice. The reason why the resturaunt part sucks so bad is because it is a tourist trap for custies. When have entrees at a pizza place ever been good? I grabbed 3 slices of pizza for 9 dollars and change. The young lady working the counter served it tho me on 3 paper plates. I asked her to please put it in a box for me. She says ok then throws it in a bag. I asked her again to please put it in one of their small boxes because it would be easier to manage for my trip. She informs me that they have a 4 slice minimum for a box. I then ask for a box a third time. A gentleman who works there then gives me this lecture about how I did not need a box then tells me I can have one for a quarter. Are you kidding me! Zero for Customer Service!!! My family and friends had the worst customer experience ever from this restaurant. We were treated very rudely by the hostess/manager and some waitresses. At first, my husband ordered 2 pasta dishes for our kids for takeout from their restaurant. Later, our group decided to eat in somewhere and I convinced them to eat at Giordano's (my big mistake). After we got seated, and while waiting for the rest of our party to arrive, we opened the takeout boxes we ordered earlier so our kids can start eating (this was already very late lunch and kids were very hungry). This was when the hostess/manager approached us with a condescending attitude and a raised tone and very rudely said to us, "You cannot come here to eat your takeout food. This is for dine in only. You should be ordering food." We tried to tell her that we do plan to order but she just kept on talking without giving us a chance to talk. When I finally got the chance to say that our party plans to order, as if to drive her point even more, she rudely said, "Then each of you should order." Then she left. For a moment, we were in a state of shock at how badly we were treated. Then we decided we should leave the place. This was when we experienced another round of rudeness. When we started to stand up and leave, the waitresses around did not seem to mind. When we caught a waitress' attention and said we were leaving, she just brushed us aside and went straight to another table. She did not even care to stop and ask us why. When we finally talked to our waitress, we explained why we were leaving and told her how rude and inconsiderate the hostess/manager was (imagine, the takeout food was from their restaurant). Instead of being sympathetic, she did not even apologize and instead kept saying "ok" repeatedly with no eye contact, and with a "talk-to-the-hand-i-don't-care-if-you-leave" attitude. Worst, the hostess/manager pretended to go about her business and did not approach us again to apologize or listen to our complaints. Unfortunately, there was no other person we can talk to, she is the dining room manager and there is no one higher around (according to the staff). Their afternoon was slow, there were about only 3 tables occupied. With the size of our party, we could have gotten them good business that afternoon. Now, we're spreading the word - to all we know and on all online reviews - on how badly we were treated in this restaurant and to skip this place when in MV. Our message to the rude staff: ---- If you mistakenly thought that we went inside the restaurant to just eat our takeout food, you could have at least have said it nicely. Instead, you were so rude - like you were scolding a bunch of little kids. Worst, who in their right mind would assume that customers would go in to eat their takeout food? C'mon, we're well educated people and we don't do that. ---- The takeout food was ordered from your restaurant and from your restaurant menu (not from your takeout window next door). Worst, my husband ordered it from the same hostess/manager, so she knows its their food, its from their own business! What's your problem with us eating your own restaurant food? Is it the tip? ----- "Then each of you should order." is what the hostess said when we said our party plans on ordering. First, it sounded like a threat. Second, you have no right to tell us how we should order - whether we decided to share or not, that's not your concern. You cannot kick us out if the order count does not match the number of people in our party. Again, this sounded like a shallow-minded person making stupid assumptions about other people. The hostess/manager is very rude and the rest of the staff has the same attitude. They should teach these people a lesson on customer service. Better yet, fire them. We did not expect to get this experience in a place like Martha's Vineyard. (Earlier when we were entering the restaurant, I already noticed how rude the hostess was. We were in line going inside and she was behind me. Instead of waiting for us to get in first, she forced herself through us so she can get in first. Service is slow and you will wait very long and when you follow up with the manager her answer will be " we are very busy here as you see" as if you are bothering them. There are better options in Marthas vineyard. If you are on a crunch on time, this is not the place to eat. Food is below average for the price you pay. This review is for the takeout seafood window, not the sit-down restaurant or pizza takeout. We went on Columbus day weekend, when the main restaurant was closed for the season. We were looking for some takeout that we could bring to the beach and enjoy. After going to a different restaurant and waiting for more than 10 minutes without anyone taking our takeout order, we found Giordano's. The takeout was busy, and looked good. We loaded up on fried clams and a lobster roll, delivered pretty quickly. We got a few drinks and snacks at the Reliable market and headed for the beach. Sitting on the uncrowded beach, eating seafood on Martha's Vineyard - a perfect afternoon. The fried clams were fine, not perfect, and the lobster was also good, although the lobster was a bit chopped up instead of in large chunks. The fries were a bit soggy, but that's what happens with styrofoam takeout containers. read more

Went to gios while on the vineyard. I had been to the takeout last year and it was really good but im now reviewing the actual resturant. I ordered cheese pizza and pepperoni. My brother got chicken to share as well. The pizza was better then average Vineyard pizza but the chicken was another story. My brother took his first bit of the chicken and said it was below average. I assumed he was being his normal critical self when it comes to resturants, so I tried it to prove my ponit be trying it. Hubby didn't want seafood and last time we were on island we stopped in to get a slice of pizza at the window so we decided to eat in. The young man that waited on us was great. very pleasant and had a great sense of humor. We of course ordered pizza. We decided to add on fries and buffalo tenders. The tenders and fries were good, same stuff you get everywhere. The pizza was as good as ever. Been going here since I was a kid. Looks pretty much the same as it always did. I loved going in as a kid because of the elevated pizza trays that they had. It's the silly things you remember from your childhood. Yes it is touristy, guess what a lot of stuff on the island is! We were hoping to get some pizza slices, but we took one look at them and immediately rejected that idea. I don't see how anyone can think this is great pizza.... it is flat, icky looking and looks like it has been sitting under a heat lamp for a couple of hours. It looks just like the bland uninspired pizza you'll find sitting around at a hole in the wall sub shop in some small town that gets few customers. Sadly, it probably is "good pizza" compared to other choices on the island; I have yet to find great pizza anywhere on the island, although I saw another reviewer recommend something that sounded promising. So, we got other stuff. I got fried clam strips, and my wife got a chicken sandwich. The clams were pretty good, and weren't squishy or rubbery like some places do to them. The flavor wasn't great, but it was reasonable enough. And, they served a lot. (By comparison, Nancy's just down the street served small portions of clams, although they tasted better at Nancy's) It was a bit pricey, but this is typical on the island anyway. The chicken sandwich was good too. This restaurant is take-out, not sit-down, so I didn't have much opportunity to review service. But, the cashier was quick, polite and courteous. I'm just giving it 3 stars because the clams and sandwich count as 4 stars, but the pizza looks awful. One star lost due to pizza. read more

Having grown up in New Haven (some say the "birth place" of pizza as we American's know it today) and being a regular of the greats like Pepe's and Modern Pizza, I think it is fair to say that I am some what of a pizza SNOB. Not that I won't eat bad pizza, I do all the time, but I truly appreciate a good, authentic "New York" style pie, and Giordano's has it! Of course it does help that it is an annual tradition to grab slices from their take-out window on our way for our visit to the "Flying Horses" across the street, but even horses that fly couldn't make a bad pizza good. The simple fact is, they make GREAT pizza and I look forward to visiting every summer, because it is ALWAYS good; they have it down and don't mess with a good thing. I did actually have a chance to dine in last year, and given that we were there at the height of tourist season, on a Friday night, and had 16 in our group in an already crowded restaurant, I was super impressed with the staff and the service that we received. I had the Lobster ravioli and it was wonderful. The sauce wasn't too heavy to drown out the lobster flavor, which is key for me, the lobster queen. I usually don't order anything with lobster IN it, because I don't want anything to get in the way of taste (like mine JUST steamed, that's it) but for some reason I had a hankering and it paid off. There were so many other family members there that night that I have a hard time remembering what everyone ordered, but I do know that all 16 of us walked away, happy as clams! read more
