We found parking right in from at a metered space. We we greeted and welcomed as soon as we entered. Service was friendly and quick. The sandwich was served hot. It was tasty and the bread was really good. .

Giorginos absolutely delivered. I got the classic Philly cheesesteak and it hit so hard, super flavorful, perfectly melty, and exactly what you want when you're craving a solid sandwich. It comes with fries and those were really good too: crispy, hot, and the perfect side. It's a little on the pricier side, but honestly worth every penny in my opinion. The quality and portions make it feel justified. Service here is always welcoming and they're quick with getting orders out. I usually order through DoorDash and select free pickup, which is super convenient because it's ready right when I get there. Easy, efficient, and consistently good. Definitely a go-to spot when I want a cheesesteak that actually satisfies.

Softest rolls, cheeseiest pulls, most stuffed philly in town. Tender beef, customized to your liking, and always a 10 out of 10. Come hungry because you're about to get stuffed!

This is one of my favorite places to get a Philly cheese steak. I ordered the works and my girlfriend has the "mush" sandwich. If there's ones thing you need to get along with your sandwich is the garlic fries. Even when I feel so full I can't eat anymore I can still manage to eat those delicious fries covered in garlic. A quick tip - pay in cash and they give you a 5% discount.

Dear diary, I came here on a Tuesday evening for early dinner and happy hour. The staff were friendly and professional. The parking is the only thing I didn't like. It's street parking only so during the busier times it will probably be harder to find parking. What respectable cheesesteak restaurant charges you extra for whiz and then doesn't add it.

This is the second time ordering that they've forgotten to add Cheese Whiz to my order. How can you charge extra for something that should come standard and then forget to add it each time? Very pricey, $20 without adding any cheese or veggies. They charge extra for any toppings, even tomatoes. It shouldn't cost extra to add cheese and veggies to a sandwich, that is what makes up a sandwich. And especially with how pricey it is. Tasted good, I'm a big boy so I was still hungry after, not the most filling if you're a big fella. But recommend if you don't mind the price and if you don't have big appetite. Staff were very kind also.

Finally found a cheesesteak spot in San Diego that actually hits the spot. I lived in Philly for 3 years, so I get those cravings every now and then, and this one definitely delivered. The flavor was solid and brought me back. Their menu is pretty big too, so next time I'm definitely going to try out their sandwiches. The cashier were very friendly. Love their Customer service!

Ordered delivery a few times but decided to dine in today. This is my first time actually trying their food because the last time I just bought the works and fries for my mom . Parking here is hard I had to wait for someone to leave. So I walked in and greeted immediately. I ordered 3 works one with no onion for my mom one works as is and mine I added cheese wiz and hot cherry peppers. I waited less than 10 minutes and the guy brought out the food to me in a nice bag . When I got home it looked so good and I could only eat half . The toys were crispy too . This is definitely the best Philly cheesesteak I have ever had. Next time u will go there with one of my best friends and eat there instead of to go .

*This was a delivery order* Wanted a cheesesteak so I ordered delivery from this restaurant. Man, it was really yummy. I got the works cheesesteak and an order of the cheese sticks. Sorry to get your hopes by the picture but it looked better than it tasted..Way too much mushrooms, onions and bell peppers...More vegetables than meat...I had not been in a long time because I was disappointed that the meat was so finely chopped...but I was in the area so I stopped in as soon as it opened and wasted my money..Will not be returning.

We won't be going back here. I came in one night and ordered a hot sandwich, that had breaded chicken in it, and a cold sandwich for my hubby. After walking a block to get home, I went to enjoy my sandwich. Mine was cold and the meat was frozen. My husbands was warm. I tried contacting them about this issue through their website but no answer. It's clear they don't care. I'm a pregnant woman and you gave me frozen chicken. Wtf is wrong with you?! I'm never going back. So disappointed. Hungry and in the area? Go somewhere else. read more

hmmm... nothing like a cheesy meat and finely chopped onions stuffed in a semi-warm bun. goooooey! Its the closest thing I'll get to Pats but hey, its tasty! I love how they add an extra layer of cheez whiz on the bottom other than the top to add to the savory saltiness and fattiness of the cheesesteak. For the price you get a pretty good decent size that is cute in half so you don't shame yourself in eating the whole thing. Its a pretty filling sandwich and tasty at that. We also got the frings (fries and onion rings) and I do have to say so myself, those onion rings are crispy! I like the fact when I bite into them the actually onion stays. No onion stringers here! But watch out for the Ragin Ranch sauce because it's spicy! read more

Talk about satisfying! I have no idea what a REAL philly cheessteak should taste like, but if this is it, then I guess I have no reason to visit philly anymore... The thing is pretty big, stuffed with cheese meaty goodness on a nice, squishy, moist roll that absorbs all the greasiness and becomes one until you take that big bite and devour all the calorific glory. The fries are nice, nothing to write home about I guess, a bit salty I'd say, but they complement the cheesesteak well. I've also had the Gaby Dog, the bacon-wrapped hot dog, and being a Tijuanero I was expecting what I've come to know as a bacon-wrapped hot dog, but theirs is quite different. They use the same type of roll used on the cheesesteaks, and they put some mix of tomato and other veggies on top. The thing is huge, and one will fill you up, two will make you (me) sick, as I've learned. I guess I'd rather go for the traditional TJ hot dogs, you only gotta go down a few blocks to 25th and C for those babies ;-), but the Gaby dog is a tasty one as well. There is a giant sign out front that says "Best Cheesteak in San Diego" and they are correct. My 1st job out of highschool was making cheese steaks. I was great at making cheesesteaks but these are better. Please do yourself a favor and do yhe double meat mushroom. read more

Philly... The home of brotherly love, Rocky, the Fresh Prince of Bel Air, and the cheesesteak. Giorgino's boasts "the best cheesesteaks in town." And I must agree. After a pretty hardcore workout at the gym, I was famished. I have seen the sign "the best cheesesteaks in town" over and over again and decided to put that claim to the test. We ordered a works cheesesteak with grilled onions, mushrooms, green bell peppers, and melted white American cheese. I also went ahead and added cheese wiz, because it's not truly a Philly cheesesteak without the wiz. I also ordered a side of frings - half fries, half onion rings. It came with a spicy ranch dressing. Everything was delicious. Maybe not considered a healthy meal, but it was absolutely scrumptious. I'm sure Rocky and the Fresh Prince of bel Air would also consider Giorgino's to be "the best cheesesteaks in town." read more

I may be biased, as I'm from PA, but the cheesesteaks were only okay. Got the standard and the mush, didn't finish the latter. I've heard good things, so an off day possibly or maybe stay away from the mush steak. read more

Had the sausage sandwich and the philly with the fam. The philly was good, needed more seasoning. The sausage was just ok. The menu is a bit confusing. Says if you buy a sandwich you get a free drink. I guess you actually need to buy fries, and then get the drink free. Would be nice to have that clarification on the menu. This was just ok. I expect better for a philly place. The bread has to be amazing to be a true philly place. This one is ok. read more

Hands down best cheesesteak and chickensteak I've ever had. This place effectively ruined other sandwiches for me. I'm not even gonna bother suffering through one somewhere else. Delicious delicious delicious and excellent quality. The two problems I often encounter with cheesesteaks (Meat hacked into oblivion/sawdust; a melange of undesirable flappy/tendony bits) are absent here. We got a gaucho steak and a chicken steak. The steak was tender, flavorful, and all delicious - no undesirable parts. The mushrooms were plump, no doubt drunk on the meat and the chimichurri sauce. And the bread, oh the bread. Gimme a break. The chickensteak was something you want to camp out in. Warm, gooey cheese, grilled chicken breast, perfectly caramelized onions, and that bread! How am I going to talk myself out of eating another one in the next 24 hours? Giorgino's also has soft pretzels that will take you back to the snack bar at your last little league game. Totally worth adding on to your meal. My only gripe is that the fry oil had a powerful flavor, but it's a minor gripe. I had no qualms eating the pound of onion rings bathed in it. My only regret is that I didn't find this place sooner. read more

After hearing one of my photographer friends rave about the Cheesesteaks at Giorgino's, I wanted to see what the rave was about, so we stopped by today for lunch. The Restaurant is clean and bright, but the decor is uninspired. The layout could be much more efficient and they can certainly improve the atmosphere. The main point of attraction is a giant flat screen TV, something I never like to see, no matter what kind of Restaurant. The menu is pretty straight forward and actually quite large for a place like this. I ordered a Cheesesteak with Onion and Mushrooms, which came out piping hot served on a fresh crunchy roll. The steak was tasty, but a little overpowered by the amount of Cheese in the Sandwich. Next time I'll ask for less Cheese and more Onions and Mushrooms. Last time I had a Cheesesteak was at Pat's in Philadelphia many years ago, and I thought the one today was as good, if not better, and it wasn't as messy, dripping and disintegrating. My better half ordered a Cheeseburger which she really liked. It was juicy, fresh and well cooked. The fries were pretty good and we shared a fountain drink. Total cost was $17, which was ok. The service was very good, fast, courteous and friendly, so no complaints there. Restroom was clean too. My only complaint is that we came home smelling of fried food. Maybe the exhaust fan needs to be turned on or turned up. I think we need to come back and try again with a Cheesesteak with modifications and some other items on a the menu. Based on the experience today, I can recommend Giorgino's read more

I really enjoy dropping by this great local business when I have the chance. Situated in Golden Hill, I like the variety of different sandwiches they offer. i generally gravitate to one of their Philly cheesesteaks but have on occasion tried their special menu which is listed outside. Patrons paying in cash generally gets a discount which is awesome. And if you decide to dine in and drink from their selection of craft beer, you get a dollar off your entree. If it's a nice day and you happen to come in for lunch. Take your lunch to the park located on 28th and A (right up the street) and eat your sandwich while observing the many planes that fly through the neighborhood. I definitely recommend this joint! read more

Works Cheesesteak - It was good, but then it got too cheesy for me. Meat is a little tougher than other cheesesteak joints I been to. Pesto Cheesesteak - This was slammin. Gaby Dog - 2 bacon wrapped hot dogs in an amoroso roll. Daamn GOOD. Fries - Awesome. and their ketchup seemed sweeter than normal. try it, its good! PROS: Amoroso Roll CONS: If you use credit card, they charge you 75cents more. Metered Parking, bring your coins. read more

This place is pretty slow when it comes to service. I guess that's good because you know they are cooking your food from scratch. This is my second time coming in. We ordered the Philly cheese steak sandwhich with a side of chili cheese fries. OMGGGGGGGG Delish! The portions are huge so you can definitely share your sandwich. They smoother a good amount of cheese whiz on your sandwhich and your fries are coated in chili and cheese. There was nobody ahead of me in line when I ordered, so wait time while dining in was about 10 minutes. I would have gave them 4 stars but had to drop it down one. I am really big on time. Time is valuable, especially when you are out on your lunch break. I phoned in my order at 12:10pm. We ordered 5 items. They told us our food would be ready in 20 minutes. When we got there at 12:30, the guy at the register told us it would be another 6 minutes. There was one person waiting for his food "to go". I am pretty sure he did not get there before 12:10pm.. however he got his food at about 12:36. The time is now 12:50, I am now 30 minutes into my lunch break...still no food ready. I really doubt they make chili from scratch, so I really didn't know what the lengthy wait was for. I'm sure they have multiple friers, so I'm sure fries could have been frying while the salad and sandwhich were being made. Only thing I can say is, if there is one cook in the back, they should learn how to multi-task and organize themselves so they can get the food out and quick to their customers. read more

Giorgino's in the golden Hill neighborhood of San Diego has quite possibly the best cheese-steak sandwich I have ever eaten; not just here in San Diego, but anywhere. My previous favorite was from Philly's Best in the Los Angeles area and it is a distant second to Giorgio's! Oh, make no mistake about it, this place is a true hole in the wall, complete with its overwhelming menu choices, friendly workers, and usual regulars. I thank god I reviewed their menu online before making my first trip, as the place is so small it would be unconfortable to dawdle and peruse the menu at the counter. It is best to know what you want and order it right away. After a very short wait, you will be rewarded with the juicy goodness that you ordered. I bought the Mush Steak hoagie. It was the traditional cheesesteak hoagie/sub/sandwich; steak grilled with white American cheese, onions, and mushrooms. Awesomeness stuffed into a huge 10" imported from Philly (or so they say) Amoroso roll. Like a boatload of delight for you mouth! I also tried their version of the TJ hotdog. One of the best bacon-wrapped (TJ) hot dogs around. Not 100% authentic, but a definite contender. They call theirs the Gaby Dog. It comes with all the fixins you would expect ... mayo, mustard, ketchup, tomato, jalapeno, and grilled onions. The huge 10" Amoroso roll they stuff all that into is what makes this dog a must try. The rolls are soft and fresh inside, yet don't get soggy before you can chow down whatever you throw its way. read more

Ok so tell me what you want to eat.....Oh sorry we dont have that. Huh?! My husband and I went to Giorginos for the first time, its only a block away from us and have always been curious to try it. Wish we wouldnt. The cashier was very nice and friendly, but my appetite cant be filled solely on that. I ordered a Club Sub, as im ordering she tells me that theres no bacon! Ok, thats fine I still want a cold sandwich, hubby gets the "famous" cheesesteak. AFTER we pay a ridiculous overpriced amount ($22) for 2 subs and 2 drinks, she comes over and tells me that there is no ham or turkey!!! Are you kidding me?! Fine so ill just get a meatball sub. EEK! wish I would have just asked for our money back and not ate there. Again the cashier was very friendly and its not her fault but geez! We will definitely not coming back here...they did have good fries :) read more

Mmmm. Good cheesesteak. Not the best in San Diego, but it's one of the top three. I get mine with no onions and only peppers. The peppers are sliced a bit chunkier than other places. I'll be going back here again I'm sure, since it's close to work. And the dining room is extremely small. I get mine to go. Speed of service varies. For some reason... I like how things are priced here. Things are not rounded up or down but oddly at $1.61, $5.06, $3.22, etc. It's like they have some EXACT profit margin they are making on each item or they just come up with random numbers. I don't get it. But either way, things are priced well. EDIT: It looks like they monitor Yelp. After posting this, they contacted me to let me know that the reason they price things this way is so that the prices come out even after tax is added. Very clever. read more

I went to San Diego to visit my family & of course when you go out of town, to visit the family, you're going to wind up eating out somewhere they love to go. They know what's up. This place was one of those places. My nephews love coming here after school w/ their uncle & I've always wanted to try this place out. Thankfully, everyone was all down for some philly cheese goodness this afternoon. We have a big family so we pretty much ordered everything. I just have to say, they made the best tasting philly's I've ever eaten in my entire life. It was soooo good! I'm craving right now as I'm typing this. I ate both the steak philly & the chicken philly. Both were equally good. The fries were made perfectly. The service was amazing, helpful, fast & friendly. I love the owners, Mario & wife. They make you feel comfortable like you're at home when you go there. It's so clean & has a nice bar. I could totally hang out here drinking beer & eating philly's all day. If I lived in San Diego, this would be my regular hot spot no doubt. read more

I am a huge Cheesesteak fan, and now I'm becoming huge for it. Totally worth it though. And so is this place. I love my Gaglione Bros., but this is really starting to compete for my attention, and this is after I was the inventor of Gag's philly cheesesteak fries. I can't pinpoint what makes these so delicious. For a me a great sandwich has a lot to do with the bread, but I think that it is cheese that makes this one stand out. Ooey. Gooey. Delicious. Even though it is a close race I still prefer Gag's, even though my favorite sandwich the mushroom chicken steak with Jalapeños might even be better at Giorgino's. Either way you win. Damn them though to say they deliver to downtown, but apparently not to where I am. Those beautiful tasting bastards. read more

This is gonna sound weird, but fresh veggies is what makes a good chicken cheesesteak for me. And Giorgino's veggies are AWESOME! The onions were sliced super thin and grilled to a nice brown color. The mushrooms and bell peppers were really fresh and good. The hot sauce selection isn't as expansive as other places. Just Tabasco and Cholula, however, they were happy to give me a side of Franks Red Hot by request. There's about five or so tables inside and a few more outside. As others have said, there's not much atmosphere. Just feels like a pizza/sub place back east. Much better than Gotham City that used to be in that location. Giorgino's is worth the trip to South Park. Nice selection of Tasty Cakes too. read more

I'm the type of person, if I find an item I like at a restaurant--I'll eat it pretty much every time I go there. So honestly I've only had one item on the menu, the pastrami, but it's pretty damn good. This is a good place to grab a good sandwich without going to an actual sit down restaurant. I absolutely love their food but what anyplace would close their doors on Friday's and Saturday's by 8 pm is just not good buisness. Went there recently and walked through the doors about 2 minutes to 8. I know it was so close to the time but the door was open and the open signs were bright. That isn't even really the problem though. I just think that a place that makes essentially late night food closing at 8 is bad buisness. They should open up 3 hours later and do a lunch 11:00am to 11:00 pm late night grub. Once again the food is great but the customer service is ehhh and the hours are silly. Will go ack but just less frequent. I prefer to spend money where I'm appreciated. The star rating would be 0 if the food want so good. read more

Giorgino's is everything you want in a neighborhood deli. Great neighborhood. Small setting with a couple outdoor seats. Friendly, helpful staff. Oh yeah, and delicious, fresh deli meat. They have a lot of other options too: pasta, chili dogs, cheesesteak, pizza, etc. I had the italian sandwich (I can't remember the name, but it had salami and genoa and all that good stuff), and it was great. They use Boar's Head deli meats, and the bread is really fresh. Another plus: they're open until 8pm on weeknights (I think 5pm on weekends). A lot of good delis close earlier, but you have time to swing by for dinner during the week as well. read more

This place used to be Gotham City Pizza, and the pizza was pretty good.. but one day I was wanting some pizza and headed to their website... whaaaa no more pizza? hmm I guess I'll try a cheese steak instead. Tina & I have been addicted ever since. The sandwiches are sooo good. I have tried cheese steaks, regular subs, & other random things on the menu. We always do delivery so I have no idea what the place looks like. I will admit I was refreshed when one yelper said it was very clean inside.. whew no hep A for me! Location/Parking: It was an adventure to find this place. It seems hidden in a residential area. Seating/Wait: There are only a handful of tables. I think there were some inside but I sat outside. Service: Very friendly. Food: Best Philly Cheesesteaks ever. All the sandwiches I have are to die for. Careful. Giorgino's grand opened July 7, 2007 much to the delight of homesick East Coast transplants as well as locals looking for great food made to order.

Meet the Manager: Mario R.

Being half Italian and half Mexican, there are three things Mario knows well, family, food and hard work. Spending time with relatives from both sides of the family gave Mario the opportunity to learn about food from each of them. Being lucky enough to have traveled to Mexico as well as Argentina and soak in the culture, sights, smells and tastes has helped fuel Mario's love for food. After 9 years in retail management, Mario decided that the corporate world was no longer for him. So he bid the king of big box business farewell and began searching for a totally different work environment. Always passionate about cooking and the power food has to bring people together, Mario took on a job at Giorgino's. He worked with the owner, a New Jersey native, learning the ins and outs of the business. Soon after he started working there the owner decided to move back to New Jersey. Mario was able to obtain a loan from a family friend to purchase Giorgino's and has been running it since then...

We were seated quickly and our service was impeccable all evening! Began with some cocktails and their bread and butter service which was perhaps the best anywhere! Warm, soft Parker house roll that was simply perfect, served with garlic butter. For appetizers we had the best crudo we have ever had! It was absolutely perfect with the freshest fish and perfect dressing, we also enjoyed the Uni spaghetti which I loved and I am not the biggest pasta fan and the farmers market fruit salad. I don't eat meat which was fine as they had a pretty spectacular sea bass topped with caviar and served with mint and peas. My husband and daughter enjoyed their steaks with sides of broccolini and a caviar topped hash brown! Though I love dessert, we were simply too full to move. We walked off our dinner having had a spectacular meal! This, so far, is my best meal of 2026!!

Unfortunately, the build-up ended up being better than the actual dinner. Save yourself the stress and rideshare. Now, this is where I have mixed feelings because the service before we even arrived was absolutely brilliant. We were celebrating my friend's birthday, and I had a cake delivered through Instacart ahead of our reservation. The restaurant was SO on top of their communication. They even messaged me personally to let me know the cake had been delivered and was there waiting for us. When we arrived, my friend had a personalized birthday menu with their name on it, which I thought was such a thoughtful touch. Between that and the communication about the cake, I was thinking, "Oh yeah, they are ON IT. Tonight is going to be amazing." Unfortunately, that level of service did not continue throughout dinner. Our waitress was nice, but we had to remind her about things multiple times. We waited quite a while for our bread and had to remind her about it. The bread ended up being comped because of the wait, which I appreciated, but later she also completely forgot my margarita. For an upscale steakhouse, the service just wasn't as attentive as I expected it to be. Now let's talk about that bread because PLEASE, please, please get the bread. It came out warm and fluffy, and the butter complemented it perfectly. I had seen pictures of it beforehand, and it absolutely lived up to them. Honestly, it was one of my favorite things we ate. I believe it was around $9, and while I personally think bread should be complimentary at a steakhouse at this price point, I would still order it again because it was THAT good. We skipped appetizers because nothing really jumped out at us and went straight into our steaks. My friend and I split the 20 oz Bone-In Ribeye, and my other friend ordered the 14 oz New York Strip. We asked for both steaks to be sliced, but only the ribeye came sliced. I was also surprised by the size of the 20 oz ribeye. I've ordered 20 oz bone-in steaks at other steakhouses, and this one looked noticeably smaller than what I was expecting. Between the two of us, I think we each got around three slices. For a 20 oz steak that we were sharing, it just didn't feel very substantial. When it came to the sides, though, WE CLEANED UP. We ordered the Mushroom Fricassée with wild mushrooms, garlic and thyme; Dirty Hash Browns with trout roe and crème fraîche; Mac & Cheese with fontina and herbed breadcrumbs; Grilled Asparagus with sauce vert, lemon and amaranth; and the Potato Purée with butter and chives. And this is what makes the entire experience so frustrating: the food was actually delicious! The flavors were there. The sides were good. The steak tasted good. We genuinely enjoyed the taste of what we were eating. But almost everything was COLD. And I don't mean, "Oh, I wish this was a little warmer." I mean our food was cold. We spent around $350 on dinner, and somehow our meal came to the table cold. When they brought our steak out, we were specifically warned, "Be careful, the plate is hot." I remembered the warning at first, but later I went to move the plate with my bare hands and realized...the damn plate wasn't even hot. A manager came over and asked how everything was, and we told her exactly that: the food tasted delicious, but it was cold. She asked if we wanted anything reheated. Reheated?! That response really threw me off. At an upscale steakhouse, after ordering steaks and five different sides, I don't want my dinner reheated. I want it to come out hot the first time. And that really sums up my experience at Born and Raised. I think it was so disappointing because I was SO excited about going. I want to be fair and say this was NOT bad food. The bread was fantastic. The sides had great flavor. The steaks tasted good. The personalized birthday menu was adorable. Their communication before our reservation was excellent, and the way they handled my friend's cake genuinely made me feel like they cared about making the birthday special. That's why I'm so conflicted. Everything leading up to dinner screamed top-tier experience, but once we actually sat down and started eating, everything became very lackluster. Having to repeatedly remind our waitress about things, having my margarita completely forgotten, one of the steaks not being sliced as requested, and then having an expensive spread arrive cold just did not match the level of restaurant Born and Raised presents itself to be. For a roughly $350 dinner at an upscale steakhouse, I don't think expecting attentive service and hot food is asking for too much. I really, REALLY wanted to love Born and Raised. Unfortunately, for me, it just did not live up to the hype.

Don't know how this place has so many good reviews because my experience there was not good. My coworker and I went here on our lunch break and I ordered the Buffalo and bleu cheese sandwich and asked for the bleu cheese on the side, and the lady told me she couldn't do that and if I wanted bleu cheese I would have to pay for a side of it for 75 cents so I opted out and figured ok I'll just take it on the sandwich. Next I get the sandwich and there is no buffalo sauce on it so I ask one of the employees for a side of Buffalo sauce and he says ok. I wait for literally 10 minutes and no buffalo sauce so I ask him again for the Buffalo sauce and he tells me he's working on it..So at this point I wait another 5 minutes and still no sauce so I decide to eat my sandwich and never go back to this place. On my way out the manager asked me how my experience was and I told her I asked her employee for a side of Buffalo sauce twice and he never brought it and she said ohhh it's 75 cents that's why. I said He told me he was bringing it too me and she just kept repeating oh that's 75 cents I said ok first of all I ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich it came with no buffalo that means you owe it to me and secondly how do you know I didn't want to pay for the side of Buffalo.?? She had no response.. I would not recommend this place to anyone and will be sure to tell everyone I know not to go here.! This sandwich was $10 and in my opinion over priced, for the same price you can get a sandwich and a side of garlic cheese fries at Gaglione Brothers and the food is much better than this place. read more

I ordered 2 sandwiches and my total was $17. And that was with the 5% discount, since I paid cash. Nothing wrong with the price if you're getting a premium sandwich. Thats a restaurant price, even though is not a restaurant, more like a fast food place. Based on the decor and the fact that you have to walk to the register to place your order. Well I assumed since it wasn't a restaurant but they charge like one, the quality must compensate and would be premium. Also I assumed that based on their reviews. I guess I either have very high standards or people don't know what good food is around here. My chimichurri sandwich was the worst steak sandwich I have ever had!! The chimichurri was essentially pesto, and the steak incredibly thin, almost like roast beef. And super dry!! The bread was cheap and soggy. Rather than a mini baguette which is crunchy on the outside. What should be used on thirst types of sandwiches. My girlfriends chicken sandwich was almost ground chicken, had more onions than chicken. Honestly, the steak sandwiches from the food court at the mall are better. At least they give you real steak, sliced grilled chicken, and fresh baguette bread. read more

Giorgino's is one of those classic little hole-in-the-wall spots that locals appreciate for its simplicity and consistency. Tucked away in the South Park/Golden Hill area, it offers a solid cheesesteak experience and super friendly service. It's not trying to be fancy--it's just doing what it does well. The cheesesteaks are definitely the standout here. They use an Almarosa roll, which is impressively fresh--soft, tender, and holds up beautifully with all the fillings. The bread alone makes a difference in every bite. Meats are cooked right, and the portioning feels generous without being over the top. As for the atmosphere, it's... fine. Nothing wrong with it, but also not the kind of place you'd linger. The space feels a bit rundown--functional more than inviting. This sandwich shop has so much going for it. The ingredients are top-notch - the cheese is perfectly melted, the flavors are fantastic, and the meat is tender and well-seasoned. They really nail the balance of meat, veggies, and cheese in terms of taste. However, there's one glaring issue that's been a recurring problem lately: the meat-to-bread ratio. It's simply unacceptable. I've encountered multiple sandwiches where the meat is sparse, unevenly distributed, and sometimes even thinner than cheesecloth! If I was paying $8 I would be ok with this, but at nearly $16 with tax, it feels like a rip-off. For that kind of money, I expect a generously filled sandwich. It's a shame because I truly prefer supporting local businesses like this one over chains like Jersey Mike's. While Jersey Mike's might not be quite as flavorful, they at least provide a satisfying amount of ingredients for the price. If this trend of skimpy sandwiches continues, I'll unfortunately have to take my business elsewhere. I hope the owners address this issue, as I genuinely want to see this place succeed. read more

I had a cheesesteak remembering the driving up from DC to Philly on a road trip just for a cheesesteak actually at one of THE major cheesesteak places. Was this... did it measure-up? Yes! Who would have thought? It is simply the best cheesesteak I have had in years of what was turning out to be a hopeless endeavor of a quest to find a real cheesesteak outside of Philly. The price is right. I keep bringing my tuff to please foodie buddies and they go nutz over ever thing. I dare you go and try to find better any where except PA. I love the diner feel. It looks fresh. It IS fresh. And leaving you'll putting in an extra tip. (If you just ask for water they will give you a big tall glass for it and not some wimpy I'm drinking water because I'm cheep little styrofoam cup.) Have a beer with it too. This place has by far the best Cheesesteak you can get anywhere on the west coast. It is amazing to me that not only are the cheesesteaks great but everything I have eaten there is top quality, utterly delicious, and at an excellent price. The staff there is always polite and very funny they will keep you coming back if the food doesn't (which it will)! For being such a small facility their menu is extensive. You will almost not mind that there is no beer. Cute place, very East coast vib. The people there kind of remind me of the guys in the pizza place in the film Moonstruck, if you ever saw that. I've been there about 4 times either for the cheesesteak or a pasta, both quite good. A bit too fawning to the Philly style to have those Tastycakes, which are crappy and who eats them anyway? In summary, nice joint in a good neighborhood, sure beats the "Big Top Pizza" that was there in the '80 and '90s. A point off for that scam of charging an extra 50 cents to use a charge card, which I think is illegal, and for the short hours in the evening. read more

If you're in San Diego and craving a Philly cheesesteak, Giorgino's is the place to be! I had "The Works" cheesesteak with jalapeños and cheese whiz, and oh man, it was perfect. The steak was tender, the cheese whiz was gooey and cheesy in all the right ways, and the jalapeños gave it that perfect spicy kick. Plus, the roll was soft but held everything together! The vibe is chill and casual. The staff is friendly and food comes out quickly. If you're a cheesesteak fan, you need to try this place. I'll definitely be back for another bite! read more

When they say "best cheesesteaks in town" they MEAN it! We were definitely not disappointed! I was very surprised at the size of the sandwich and the big basket of fries! I ate every bite, although I think half of the cheesesteak sandwich and 1 order of fries is enough to split between two people. If you love grease, you will love this place! My wife and I ordered from here twice and got food to go. They gave us a quick pick-up time so I know it didn't sit for long. Both times and both of our orders, the buns were just drenched in grease. I'm a big guy and I don't mind a little fattiness, but this place is ridiculous! This place is known for cheese steaks but they got other good items on the menu. I tried the gaby dog (2 bacon wrapped hot dogs) in a roll w/ mayo must ket. tomato and onions.. It's a spin on CA burrito with fries, salami and cheese on Dutch crunch bread. Also got Amuna's Tuna. Their bread and dirty sauce is what makes their sandwiches stand out from other shops. Out of all the locations, my favorite would be What's My Age Again a Poway exclusive. You get a caramel apple lollipop with every sandwich. Perfect way to end a meal.

I love Ike's. I've been to other locations many times and only had nice things to say. But this…read morelocation gave me the worst experience ever. Look at my sandwhich. This actually has to be some kind of sick joke. I ordered a Matt Cain and all I asked for was no salami (i'm allergic) and all sauces on the side. This is the sandwhich they gave me. The employees were rude (working on August 5th, 5pm) and there was no one else in the store except me, it was not busy at all. I drove all the way home and did not feel like making the drive all the way back to get a refund. Ike's mission valley needs to do better.
