We are visiting from out of town. My girlfriend said she wanted Italian food, I did a Yelp search…read moreand selected Vito's based on reviews and looking at the menu - I liked the wide variety of options. We arrived and were promptly seated. My girlfriend immediately noticed that it appeared to be all 'locals' - that's a good sign! It's not a 'modern' restaurant. It's apparently been there for a long time. It's comfortable and feels like a nice Italian restaurant (I've eaten at many restaurants in Italy so I have a little bit of an idea for authentic ambiance.) We received a basket of bread - delicious seasoning along with an oil dip. I'm a bit of a beer snob so I was happy to see a good IPA on their beer list. We both started with a dinner salad. My girlfriend had the Tortellini and I had the Chicken Scaloppine. Both were delicious. The waiter and waitress were prompt, courteous and helpful. The prices were reasonable. There was plenty of food. We didn't have room for dessert unfortunately so no recommendations there. It was an enjoyable experience. My girlfriend said she really enjoyed it and was very happy with my selection (whew!).

The bread was served cold, and the pasta lacked flavor, even the Inducer's sauce was mild. The grilled chicken was bland with no seasoning. The good side was the tomato basil soup was delicious and my favorite. Kinda disappointing, the Parmesan cheese wasn't offered to us, even though I saw it provided to nearby tables. Maybe it just wasn't their night.

Homemade warm soft focaccia bread, served fresh out of the oven started our food journey. The White Anchovies, reminded us of our trip to Sicily, mild flavored served on crostini sprinkled with delightful crunchy fried capers (I added a drizzle of olive oil to add extra depth of flavor. Lamb Meatballs-very delicate & tender, lacked fresh herbs or cheese, but served in a vibrant marinara sauce. Beet Salad-bright field served on generous portion of earthy sweet roasted beets, tangy goat cheese & sweet carmalized onions. Cacio e Pepe- Dish delivered a rich layered taste experience. Homemade Bucatini, cracked black pepper, creaminess of sharp Pecorino cheese sauce clinged to every bite of pasta. The Bolognese lacked the signature ingredients that define the dish, far from being Bolognese! Kudos for making homemade Pappardelle pasta, but pasta had no bite, over cooked to the mushy point. Bravo to server Michael, friendly, knowledge of menu, very attentive taking care that each course arrived with a fresh setting. We will go back to Piatto for dinner. Piatto has a lovely bar area with a nice Happy Hour, we are looking forward to trying out !

Even though it's a different location, it still holds a lot of nostalgic memories for me, like sitting in the trolley car. My brother and I used to think that was so fun when we were little. The service always seems really slow at this location. That's the only negative thing I have to add. My son and I had to be at a concert and we sat at the table for 17 minutes without being offered water or our order being taken , all the waiters and waitresses were trying not to make eye contact and dodging. I ended up flagging a manager, Joey came over and was super friendly and very helpful and prompt. He got us served right away! The bread is always nice and warm and I always order the meat sauce spaghetti I had a salad this time with creamy Italian dressing. It was very delicious and my son got the chicken marsala with minestrone soup. Of course, the best part is dessert. We always get the spumoni ice cream. I love how they have a three course meal. For the meat sauce spaghetti - $18.99 that comes with soup or salad and choice of ice cream favor.

Food: yuck, and small portions what the heck? I was nervous when I read on the menu you can pay more $$ for a larger portion of food...but the regular menu price was $22 for a fettuccini. So if I wanted more then I'd pay $27? No thanks. Another dish that was gross was the lobster and crab rav. It was striated with red streaks and tasted so fishy. Ambiance: clean, and cute. They got it right; however, the place is gigantic which I don't think leads to a good experience due to travel time for the wait staff.
