Pizza was not bad - just OK. The reason for 2 stars is customer service (or lack thereof). Went in on a empty afternoon (only a few other people there). Place was well staffed with college-aged kids so expected timely service. Asked what beers they had on tap, as the gentlemen rattled off the names, he stood behind the bar and tasted the beer before sharing his recommendation (likely just a reason to drink on the job) I then chose one of the beers (again the place was empty, and the staff seemed busy chatting amongst themselves), it took this guy over 10 minutes to get me my beer. After I told him which beer I wanted he actually went to chat with his coworker - As if! When we finally got the beers, one of the glasses was chipped on the drinking surface and nearly cut my lip. Service sucked, pizza was OK. Likely not returning due to poorly qualified staff in the front house. 2 stars read more

This place used to be good. I don't know what happened--maybe new owners??--but the quality of the food is so inconsistent. We have given it a few chances based off our pre-2017 experience and expectations. But truly, it's not worth it. Not when there is Hello Pizza down the street, La Canada Imports, or even Round Table. I usually don't post negative reviews but in this case found it very necessary. My family has dined at this restaurant multiple times in support of small local businesses. However, this is the second time we've ordered from this restaurant's website (their DIRECT website - not a third party website) and ended up with no food because they canceled my order last minute (after already charging my credit card). Last time, the restaurant was completely closed for some reason so they didn't even refund me - I had to go out of my way to call multiple times to get a hold of someone and make sure my credit card was refunded. This time, I ordered around 2:30PM when the restaurant was supposed to open at 3PM. The online website said that the earliest pick-up time was 3:15PM so that is the time I chose. When we went to go pick up the food at that time, the cashier told us they canceled our order (without even notifying us) because they just opened and couldn't make the food on time. If you are not able to make the food on time, 1. why would you list this as the earliest pick-up option on your website, and 2. why would you cancel my order without notifying me instead of just calling me and letting me know my order would be delayed (especially after you've already charged my credit card)! Extremely unprofessional and uncalled for. Given this is the second time I am dealing with the same experience, I found the need to post this review. If you have an "order online" option on your website, you should make sure you are able to fulfill the orders that are made through that website. Otherwise, take it down completely. Anyhow this is our new spot for pizza for the fact that it serves decent pizza in a family friendly environment (aka kid-friendly). Food: We have tried different pizzas from their specials menu and so far our favorite is Sicilian. You have to be mindful of the longer time it takes to bring your food. So if you are in rush skip this place. Dessert: Tiramisu tastes very good but is huge! It is definitely something to share with maybe 3-4 people. Service: the servers are nice and check on you frequently but not annoyingly. Cleanness: this is where I needed to drop one star. The restaurant itself is not the cleanest but the restroom and the hallway you pass to get there is where turns you off! That area definitely needs some renovation and cleaning. read more

Multiple orders messed up and they insist it was ordered wrong which is complete BS and they charge to remake it and fix the order. I've worked in many restaurants in the area and none of them would ever do that, you take responsibility for messing up and make the order right. Once in a while it's good but it's over priced and 90% of the time not good enough to keep going here if 0 stars was possible I'd give them that do not come here, La Canada imports is 10x better. I wanted to like this place,always try to support local. I was disappointed by the service and food. My drinks took 20 minutes, food came out slow. I ordered 1/2 of pasta for my kids to split,$11.50 for 1/2 plate of noodles and cheese. Shrimp Scampi was not good, $16 for some noodles that someone squeezed half a lemon on. The pizza was OK, not good enough to save the meal. I came out feeling like I overpaid for subpar meal. The place has a great location and nice feel. Talk about being torn!! I've come here numerous times cause they have small personalized pizzas that I like to get for my little one. The quality of the food is great!! Last time I came here I got pasta with marinara sauce, chicken tenders, and a bbq chicken salad for myself (surprise, I CAN eat healthy!! lol). My daughter loved the pasta with marinara (which I tasted as well and it was really good!). My son enjoyed the chicken tenders but mainly the fries, and I have too say that the bbq chicken salad was REALLY good!! It really hit the spot. The service on the other hand is so so. The waiter was good, but seemed like he was kinda too cool for school. He had a bit of arrogance which is not service material at all. So why am I torn?! Because the quality of the food is great, the service is so so, and the food takes FOREVER to get!! So, i'm always torn about coming here cause I get aggravated by mediocre service and even more frustrated by the amount of time it takes to get the food. Giuseppe's pizza consists of a thin layer of crust, a thinner layer cheese, and a tiny dab of sauce in between. Now, I don't know about you, but I love pizza with substance: Thin crust, a healthy proportion of sauce, and an even healthier proportion of cheese. Here (at least tonight) the pizza tasted like a glorified cracker. It was over-cooked, the cheese was brown and the crust was too crispy. It was a chore that overworked my jaw in a less than positive way. The lasagna, however, is good. The quality of the pizza simply does not justify the price. The 16" cost $16.99 and is supposed to feed "3-4". I split the pie with one other person and I'm still hungry. The frosting on top of tonight's cupcake was that it was freezing inside. I was wearing a sweater and a leather jacket, and it was still so cold. The fan was on and the AC was blowing right above me. Wing Wednesday. 60 cents a piece. Traditional buffalo sauce is tasty but has very little spice. Garlic Parmesan is my favorite. Sweet and spicy are also decent. Blue cheese had huge chunks of cheese. Awesome. Chopped salad. Bell pepper, onion, pepperoncini, garbanzo. The ranch was light. Not super thick which we liked. Mad cap appetizer. It's like a huge calzone that could replace a meal for 2 people. Best part, it's 6.95. Their house marinara is delish to dip into. Garlic balls. It may sound odd. It may be 1000 calories. But dear lord, it's amazing. Get them, eat them, thank me later. Sooooo good. Lowlights: Hot Italian sandwich was ok. Wouldn't order it again. The service was ok. I could be lazy at times, and when I'm lazy, I result to ordering in. There are a couple of places to choose from when I am in Montrose but I find myself ordering from Giuseppe's Pizzaria quite frequently even though their food is not the best. I order from them because they are fast (they usually deliver to me in about 30 minutes or sometimes less, but don't take my word for it because it might depend on where you live). I can also use Grubhub or eat24 on my phone app and it's pretty easy to order. They have quite a selection from pastas, sandwiches, wings and obviously pizzas. Like I mentioned before, it's not the most satisfying food, but their fast delivery definitely win me over other places that also serves mediocre food and take twice the time. read more

PHENOMENAL SERVICE by CODY! Great food and ambiance always take second fiddle to great service in my opinion. If a location's service is bad- I will not go back, regardless of the food. The awesome thing at Giuseppe's is.... you get it all! Tremendous service, nice atmosphere and tasty food! Two of my son's and I went in on Saturday evening. Unfortunately all the outside seating was taken, so we sat inside. No wait for a spacious and clean table. Plenty of sports on the TV's (I believe there are 6). We were greeted right away by our waiter, Cody. Very nice, happy & respectful employee. He took our drink orders and gave us time to ponder dinner. Giuseppe's has added a few new beers on draft... I believe they have 10 or so different draft beers to enjoy. Cody brought me a couple to sample before I made my selection. The most pleasant surprise for me was the "Delirium Tremens" on draft! I have had this Belgian Strong Pale Ale only once before and it is very tasty! We ordered a half order of Spaghetti & Meatballs and an XL pepperoni (half jalapeños) pizza. Plenty of food for the 3 of us to eat and bring home a ton of leftovers. The food came out quickly, with good flavor and how we ordered it! Giuseppe's has added a lot of variety to the menu from when it first opened almost a decade ago. The food is still high quality and full of flavor. Our family of 4 ate here once during outdoor dining and it wasn't too bad and the picky kids like it. Ordered GrubHub for delivery and will never do again. The Grubhub guy let me know when he arrived at the restaurant. Cool kids are hungry and I anticipated it would arrive during the promised time. 45 min later our delivery guy got our order. 35 min after the promised window it arrived. Clearly the bbq chicken salad was tossed with dressing when I had placed the order 90 min earlier. There was no marinera for the calamari and all the hot foods were packed on top of the saugy salad. BtW the cheese on the salad was melted. The cheese pizza with only olives had water all over it. My 8 yr old said "why'd they poor the olive juice on the pizza?". $75??? Never again! read more

Pizza here isn't too shabby. We usually get it for takeout. The only one we didn't like was the vegetarian one. It got super soggy, but that's our fault for ordering a fucking vegetarian pizza. We'll never be doing that again. Thank goodness it was only half the pizza. The other half was some kind of sausage and meat goodness. One day I'll come in and actually sit down at a table and order a pizza to dine in. They have TVs so you can come with you family and ignore them, spending the time instead getting plastered on pitchers of beer and watching sports and remembering bygone high school (or maybe even community college) glory days when you thought you were going to be a professional athlete, but then you hurt your shoulder and got depressed during rehab and got really fat, and that pretty much ended your career before it even started because you're a pathetic, undisciplined piece of shit who goes to a pizza parlor with his family and doesn't pay attention to them and drinks beer and watches sports and probably ogles the high school girls working behind the counter. I'm sorry to leave this review but after giving them so many chances last night was the last straw. I thought they had improved since they got a new manager but was since proved wrong. We have since been back twice. The first time the waiter started by trying to memorize our order (finally admitting he should probably write it down) and still messed up everything. My son ordered linguine with pink sauce and shrimp (he brought it with red sauce & meat), forgot to put in my pasta, and brought our salad forgetting to add the salmon (the main reason I order it). Then we wanted to give them one more chance last night. My husband & I walked in to a fairly empty restaurant. Only one table inside was occupied (granted it was a larger party but still). The waiter said "I'm sorry we aren't taking anymore customers, I'm too overwhelmed" and had us leave. Wow. Sorry Giuseppe's but after many years of our patronage we won't be back. read more
