We are here on my husband's business trip for the week. I came across this on Yelp as it sits very close to our hotel. We sat at the bar on a Monday night after being greeted right away at the door. I was disappointed we missed happy hour but ran late as it looked great. Our bartender was busy but got our drinks quickly and answered our questions. I had read that the portions were big. Not a lie! We shared a bowl of Minestrone soup which was HUGE and delicious! I'll enjoy it tomorrow for lunch. We chose the Pollo Bolognese over angel hair pasta instead of rice. Loved it. Our goal was to split a Tiramisu and I'm so happy we saved room for it! Two house vodkas and two house reds. An awesome meal with great service at a reasonable price. Don't miss out. his is the perfectly nestled Italian restaurant in town with affordable prices and food which tastes like your back in Italy! I should know since I've lived there for 5 years. Perfect for date night or with family. Wait staff really friendly and will even box up your leftovers. Ordered the Alfredo which paired perfectly with handmade meatballs and the sauce was exquisite. The rigatoni had carrots, celery and seasoning with a dollop of ricotta. Caprese salad had the right amount to share with fresh mozzarella. All under $60!!! For two people! I've heard s many good things about this place! So, it's Mother's Day. My mom wanted pasta. So I go online and look up the menu. Their menu online is woefully inadequate! I asked to order lasagna and shrimp scampi. They don't have lasagna so the bar tender reccomended something else similar, good. She said 45 minutes. I got there right about 5 min late. I went to the bar, as instructed. She said my order wasn't ready. 20 minutes later she says that they must have given my order to someone in house. She's very sorry. So, about 30 minutes later she comes back with a bag of food, i payed, and left. When I got home, we opened the bag, took out the food, and one of the little boxes had 4 small congealed shrimp. When I called them back, the same bartender answered. She said that shrimp scampi was an appetizer. WHAT!? I PAID $9.99 FOR 4 COLD, OLD, SHRIMP?! AND I WAITED 2 HOURS FOR IT?! We found hair in our appetizer, which was unfortunate. We let the waiter know, he asked us if we wanted another appetizer but we declined. We ordered 2 cocktails, they were okay. Ok folks listen up! I travel between Las Vegas and El Paso often and stay at the Hampton Inn across the street and just now found this place. If you live anywhere near this place it should be your go to place for pizza. I had the Giuseppe pie and it was excellent. The dough make all pie and they nailed it w taste and softness. Been to Giuseppe's a few times now, my food has always been perfect! Very good service from some very friendly people. This last time, however, my stuffed mushroom appetizer was off. We came for lunch and ordered take out pizzas and sandwiches. I was disappointed in the quality, freshness, and taste of my sandwich and guests were not impressed with the pizza. I could not eat my sandwich as it smelled odd and had no taste. Chips also did not taste crisp and fresh. Staff is always friendly and atmosphere is roomy and casual. Found this place on google, pictures looked amazing. Stopped at bar right next to it called putneys a little apprehensive but was pleasantly surprised, way too dead for the deliciousness that ensued. Bartender Kim ber ley was great and recommended good dishes (I went my own way but became it was close to close and didn't wanna upset the vibe), ordered mussels, scampi (scampi came shells peeled to the very tip which isn't usual), side of red sauce and am completely blown away. Then one of the waiter Liliana came over and totally decided my confidence in my order. I have to say I was very disappointed in my visit this evening. I've been here several times and I've always really enjoyed it. It's has sways been one of my favorites although I haven't been here for about a year, so I was really excited at the opportunity to go tonight. We arrived at about 7:30 and there were only a few tables in the restaurant. When the male server approached, the host podium, a female server who is standing by the bar said to him "I'm up next." So he took us to a two-top table against the wall. Although our server seemed anxious to get a table and there were only three other tables in the restaurant at the time, it still took her almost 10 minutes before she even greeted us. She took our complete order all at the same time. She dropped off his Peroni and my iced tea, then dropped food off shortly after. I got the chicken Giovanni with sautéed vegetables, rather than the standard vegetable rice that came with it. My BF got pasta Alfredo with sausage. When she served the food, she just drop the dishes in front of us and left. She didn't ask us if we wanted and Parmesan cheese or needed anything else or even asked about refills of our drinks, despite the fact that both of our glasses were empty, We initially assumed she went to get the Parmesan bowl since she didn't say anything after placing our meals in front of us. She just left. My Chicken Giovanni was ok, not as good as I remembered it to be although the vegetables that came with it (spinach, artichoke hearts, garlic and tomatoes was very good) My bf's Alfredo on the other hand was terrible. The sausage he asked to be added was served ground and added to the sauce rather than as a side link and we were expecting. The sausage itself had a good taste but the Alfredo had a gritty texture to it and absolutely no richness or creaminess to it at all. It was as if the sauce was nutmeg and skim milk (I'm not kidding). We thought an addition of some Parmesan cheese may make it a little more bearable, but our server was nowhere in sight. We finally stopped the other server who at this point in the evening had the only other table that was in the restaurant and asked her if we could get some parm and a glass of wine. Im assuming she told our server because a couple minutes later she came to our table and placed the bowl of Parmesan between us and then asked us if we wanted refills. She brought me another tea and my bf a glass of house Cabernet he ordered. (It was very good for a house wine ) Not once did our server ask how everything was. The next time we saw her she asked about desert. We declined but I did get a coffee because Giuseppe's serves Arbuckle's coffee which I love. She brought a box for his barely eaten food and we paid the check and we're out of the building by 8:30 without so much as an acknowledgment by the staff. I am in the restaurant industry and I understand we could have commented on the taste of the Alfredo and we probably would have mentioned it if asked, but the server didn't really seem interested so we just chalked it up as a loss. read more

I've been here a few times now, Guiseppe's has got to be one of my favorite restaurants in Tucson. It can be a little hard to find, as it's located in the back corner of a small derelict strip mall, but well worth the search! Service at Guiseppe's is always top notch; there is generally a member of the staff waiting to open the door for incoming or outgoing guests. All of the wait staff is super friendly, helpful, and more than happy to make recommendations (which is helpful if you're indecisive like myself). I've had the meatballs ricotta and the primavera here, and both were amazing. The meatballs ricotta was perfect: bowtie noodles with red sauce, ricotta cheese, and meatballs... What's not to love? It's probably my favorite dish here, because I'm absolutely obsessed with their red sauce. Paired with the garlic-herb ciabatta-like bread that they serve, it's like heaven. The primavera was also fantastic. I had it with shrimp, which I thought complemented the flavor well, and I appreciated that the pasta more or less looked like a vegetable garden exploded all over it. It came with artichoke hearts, zucchini, tomatoes, spinach, and mushrooms, all of which was tossed in a white wine garlic sauce. My friend is absolutely obsessed with their fettucine alfredo -and this is a girl who has had a LOT of alfredo in her life. As a poor college student, I very much appreciate that their dishes are affordable and gigantic. It's probably around $10 for a pasta dish, and you'll have an absurd amount of food to take home. Guiseppe's has great Italian food! After reading reviews, my friend and I ate at the restaurant for the first time. We were seated promptly and were given bread as an appetizer while waiting for the food. The waitress was especially helpful with the menu, explaining her recommendations. My friend got the sausage penne and I got the pesto chicken salad with double greens, no pasta. Both were very good - I absolutely loved the salad, which came with chicken, greens, tomatoes, red bell peppers, and the perfect pesto sauce. The wait for the food wasn't long, possibly because it was during lunch hour. The atmosphere: the restaurant features both inside and outside sitting areas. The outside sitting area is under a cover, which keeps the area cool. However, we decided to eat inside because of my terrible pollen allergies, but I was not disappointed - the inside seating area was decorated neatly with several paintings. WOW can I even begin to tell you how shocked I am to see that this restaurant changed their entire platter, and didn't feel the need to tell anyone who orders. I have been trying to find a good Italian restaurant in Tuson since i moved here in late 2012, and I have been so disappointed with each one I've been to. When i saw Giuseppe's new location on E 22nd, I stopped and ordered spaghetti with meat sauce. They had bolognese sauce. Instead of the deep red sauce shoen in the pictures on this website, i got sauce that looked like tomato soup that was nothing like the deep red color I saw on their website, and that tasted bland. This place is so pleasant that I"m rounding up. The large servings and user friendly menu are plusses as are the great happy hour options. Some of the food is fabulous. The burrata for one is simply outstanding. In general the antipasto was well above the norm. The scampi on the other hand lacked umph. First time here. They were training new wait staff so there were delays in service but I'd cut them slack on that. The way they were handling the training was nicely done. The dining room was neat and orderly with linen table clothes. Prices are average or better if you consider happy hour. I don't care for layout of room because even booths are 'open ended' so no one really has a partition or wall to obstruct entire room view but I'm definitely going back. I'm betting the service will be top notch. read more
