No telling me "My wife had to be there for the initial visit" (That is also a timeshare selling tactic) No Special "back to school pricing" gimmicks. No buy one get one free. No LYING and saying the competition makes inferior windows (Then when you see what Window universe does it is actually better than the other company) I got 18 quotes for work on my house 5 window quotes. so I am tired and cranky. I didnt call Window Universe intially. (my mistake) I had one company (Who I wont review) that was all the way up to getting a downpayment from me. They seemed good initially but I had to fire them when they didnt show up (it was a fourth offence) Too bad. Well I called Window Universe they came out fast. The quoting process was fast. The person (lance) who came out was very personable. Now I didnt realize this but their quote was 1500 less than the other guy I fired. Also Lance is a dialed in person. He called Provia on my door and he told me that the door I was getting was not compatible so we had to switch. The previous guy was going to give me that door with the side lights. (Was it going to even work??) yeah so there was that. The appointment took minutes. We also talked about basement glass block windows. Their prices. Right on the sheet AND they were really good about 1/2 what I expected to pay. So I am going to do that too before the winter. Anyhow when all was said and done Window Universe was less than the guy I almost used and Lance double checked he got the proper sized windows and sidelights. Great experience and I still have 3+ weeks before the windows show up. Ill come back and add some pictures after it is done. I know it is going to be great.

Shortly after closing on the home, we contacted window nation because one of the windows had a crack in it and needed the glass replaced. In October 2024 I paid the warranty transfer fee and scheduled a service call for the window replacement. Shortly thereafter, we noticed none of the windows would open or close fully. On December 3, 2024 a service tech arrived to replace the glass and evaluate the windows. The service tech stated that the windows wouldn't open or close fully because they were left open for so long by the previous homeowner, and a specific part of the windows and before they were able to come out to finish repairing the windows, I got a call on December 23, 2024 stating that "their original measuring photos shows that there was support in the sun room under the windows, but that the support was removed and that voids the warranty". I then requested photos for proof, and I was sent 2 photos. Fortunately for us, those photos show that the support underneath the windows remains unchanged since they were installed. There has been ZERO change to the structure and support of the windows. I then sent them the original listing photos which proves that the support being referenced are the beams which hold up the addition entirely and shows no changes. Once Kelvonne King and Dominique Smith received the information, they said they can't help me anymore and I need to talk to a manager. You can only try calling a manager, after several calls and voicemails I still have not been able to reach Chavis Robinson (manager). Filed BBB complaint and next step will be the news if this doesn't get resolved!

We had a new sliding glass door installed in late spring of 2024(I don't remember the exact date)…read more The blind in between the window did not go all the way down. The installer try to fix it by taking a hammer and screwdriver and hitting the slide stop to try to move it up, slightly damaging the vinyl. That didn't work, so they put in a service request that day. When service called me several days later, they said they wanted to send a specific repair person that would come out in about two weeks. I wish I could remember his name because he knew exactly what was going on with the blind. He told me the door panel would need to be replaced. Fine, six weeks later I get the new panel installed by two new people, who told me that it was taking a while to take the bad panel out because none of the installer do things the same way. But it was installed and everything was fine. Then on July 31st my wife went to open the screen door and the handle broke in her hand. It is just an L shaped piece of plastic with two screws holding it on. It broke where the screw holes are. So I called customer service right away. Since it was a Saturday I was told someone would call me in 48 to 72 hours. I called back on Wednesday afternoon and was told they were just going to call me, OK. The person on the phone sent me an email while I was on the phone with her to take picture of the broken handle handle. I acknowledged that I received the email. As soon as I ended the phone call I took picture of the handle and replied to the email with the pictures. The email said I would receive conformation of the photos. With a power outage and vacation today, August 16th, is the first time I thought to call them to say, I did NOT receive a conformation of the photos sent. I was told the part is on order and they will let me know when it comes in. The part is a small piece of plastic, you can't tell me that the place they assemble the doors doesn't have any in stock. I'm for the most part happy with the door itself. I am very unhappy with the customer service. I wonder what will happen if we have a larger problem. because of the service I CANNOT recommend this Company to anyone.

We selected the company because we were told multiple crews would be assigned to complete the project quickly. After signing the contract and paying the deposit, we were informed only one crew would be assigned and the installation would take longer than promised. The installation experienced numerous issues, including an incorrect window being installed, missing materials, extended delays, and concerns regarding insulation. Shortly after installation, we noticed significant drafts, increased insect intrusion, and substantially higher heating and cooling costs. A service technician later inspected the installation and immediately identified that the windows had not been properly shimmed, there were gaps around the installations, and no insulation had been installed. Universal Windows Direct sent another crew to address the issue by drilling holes into the window frames and injecting insulation rather than removing and reinstalling the windows. Caulking was also redone. Following extensive discussions regarding the installation deficiencies and increased utility costs, the company provided a $5,000 credit. While these repairs improved some issues, they did not resolve the underlying problems. Over the following years, we continued to experience drafts, elevated heating and cooling costs, and poor window performance. During the winter of 2025-2026, temperature measurements near several windows showed differences exceeding 25 degrees from the home's thermostat setting. In one instance, with the thermostat set at 68 degrees, the temperature near a window measured approximately 42 degrees. A subsequent inspection by another technician identified insufficient insulation around the windows and air leakage associated with prior repair methods. Additional temporary repairs were proposed, but I declined because previous temporary solutions had failed to correct the installation deficiencies. After escalating the matter, I was informed that management had approved a comprehensive correction involving removal and reinstallation of the affected windows. However, when the scheduled crew arrived, they stated they had no documentation regarding the work, no materials had been ordered, and no repairs could be completed. They instead documented the issues and left. Since January 2026, I have repeatedly contacted Universal Windows Direct seeking implementation of the approved corrective work. Multiple appointments have been scheduled, inspections have been performed, measurements have been taken repeatedly, and management has acknowledged communication failures and delays. Despite these efforts, no corrective installation work has been completed. In addition to ongoing energy loss and comfort issues, we also experienced a ceiling leak that was attributed to an improperly sloped window installation. Nearly five years after the original installation, the windows remain improperly installed, utility costs continue to be impacted, and the company has not completed the corrective work it previously approved. I have participated in more than nine service visits and worked with multiple technicians and installation crews in an effort to obtain a proper resolution.

It took some time and some fighting with my insurance company, but they guided me through the process and in the end the whole roof was replaced for just the cost of my $1,000 deductible. Shortly after, the technician (Jeff) called me back extremely upset, claiming we were "bugging" them, and stated that the owner instructed him to cancel our job and process a full refund. I explained that this was our first phone call today to management and we were simply looking for a timeline since we hadn't heard back all weekend. But he refused to listen, claimed he told us to wait until Monday (which is not in our call recordings or my notes), and canceled the service. Very unprofessional conduct. We suspect this company is discriminatory due to us not sounding like we are from the area and being based out of state. We also paid for our job, but have yet to receive a full refund.
