"... yeah so as I was saying, the shoulders pull the shirt so that here on the sides is too loose" "Okay, I can do the sides". At this point, the communication, demeanor, and the price was not right for us. So we asked her to take the pins out and that we're going to get the shirts tailored elsewhere. "I say the price before the pins," (she didn't) "so that people know BEFORE. And this is the old price, not even the new price. This is the old price and I said it before so to avoid this". Yikes.

He barely speaks English, but he is kind and sweet and wise. Not even once he missed a spot, suggested a wrong idea, showed off or felt pretentious. For me, he is a master of the craft. I've been around, I have known many tailors, and this man is one of my very favorites. He finishes pinning, and he leaves gracefully, leaving the wonder woman to finish the accounting. There is always a SRP. She always asks for when do you need the work. They have A LOT of work, and they have a back room where many people work. If you are in a hurry, they deliver, at an added percentage. If you pay cash, "Cash is King" (her own poetic words), you get a better price. Every time they delivered the work in time. You can try the fixed pieces, and he makes sure you feel great and happy. Every time, I felt cared for and respected, almost pampered. There is the son, too. Maybe more than one working at the back. The son I know is fun, respectful and kind. Every other team member who I knew were always efficient and nice to deal with. I'm almost hoping to have another clothing item to bring to them to work their magic. I highly recommend this experience. It's, hands down, one of my favorites in LA.

While it already had great bones and was exactly the style I envisioned for my wedding day, it was not fitted in the way I needed -- especially the corset, which I wanted to feel structured, secure, and perfectly tailored with no looseness. I was working with a very tight budget, but I also knew that if the dress was not altered properly, it simply would not feel right for such an important day. My husband and I had an intimate 25-person wedding celebration following our NYC City Clerk ceremony, and I wanted to feel beautiful, comfortable, and confident. MH Tailoring & Alterations absolutely delivered. During my first appointment, they carefully took measurements and understood exactly what I wanted.
