When the representative arrived, he talked to me about my expectations and the condition of my VERY old carpet. I had already settled for substandard in my mind, figuring that replacement is inevitable. He told me that steam cleaning would likely do very little, but he would make me a deal to deep clean all the rooms in the house. Completely unresponsive and they don't want your business. I called to schedule an appointment and the woman I spoke with had to have me repeat information several times and seemed very confused. I had two questions that were fairly basic - drying time and if they pre-treat. She didn't know the answers but said she would call back. After 2 days of not receiving a response, I called back. She could only answer one question and when I mentioned that I was disappointed about not receiving a call back and was considering cancelling (said in a very friendly tone), she said yes, let's cancel your appointment. I want to start by saying I bought this special from Living Social for Fifty dollars, bought the most expensive of the deal, so all areas of the carpet that needed cleaning would be covered. They arrive and say that was just a discount to be applied to the price, I paid One hundred extra and the nightmare began. This was a very strange and baddd experience, with a carpet cleaning company. They seem friendly until they don't. They arrived late, it is not a truck mounted service that plugs to the hose outside your home, they actually have to fill it up in your bathroom ( which is unexpected and a pain in the neck). They did not pre-soak, etc. When they said they had finished, I told them there were still areas that looked stained and they said they would come back when it dried If there were problems. I forgot to mention this was important to me because my son was getting married and I was expecting company. Well there were stains left, called back they came put their phone's light over the stains and said there were none. Agreed, to re-do it and this time they did pre-soak and did a much better job. Needles to say, it was a total bad experience, that I do not wish to anyone. They are always polite on the phone if you can get hold of them, but not a company I would ever do business with. read more

I purchased a groupon for $35. They showed up at my house and told me that they had to deep clean for an additional $120. I told them I didn't want the additional services and they told me they wouldn't be able to get the stains out. I told them it was a scam. They proceeded to clean for 15 minutes, when they were finished the carpet still looked dirty. They told me it was an old carpet and they couldn't get the stains out. They demanded the $$$ and I had to pay for the deep Cleaning. This is a scam, stay away!!!!! read more

I purchased a voucher from Living Social made the appointment everything was going well the technician arriveded the technician explain to me the service that I was getting and proceeded to upsell me I politely decline and just wanted the service that I purchased through Living Social voucher the technician arrived with his equipment not a mounted truck needed to use my hot water. I decided to up grade my stair cleaning to the shampoo cleaning which was an additional cost the technician began his work in the other rooms within 15 minutes he was coming downstairs to begin the downstairs I went to take a look and noticed I had spots still on the carpet and that the carpet was not clean I inform the technician that I was not satisfied and that the spots were not clean he proceeded to put his equipment back on his truck and tell me that I now have my upstairs cleaned for free and I can call to get my money back because he was done. I called the company back to inform them about their technician walking away and not completing the job I was informed that they would call me back in 15 minutes I have yet to receive a call back I have now cancelled my voucher with Living Social and requested a refund I will never ever use this company again! read more

Of course I knew they would try to upgrade me, but I wasn't figuring they'd make the steam cleaning I paid for seem so inadequate - as if it would hardly clean a thing. My house has three small carpeted rooms. I thought the coupon was an introductory offer to get themselves into the area. However, it was all about upgrading and wound up being a bit annoying. Anyway, the guy took maybe 30 minutes to clean the three rooms - Is that sufficient time to do a deep clean on three rooms? Still, I'll use Bill at Red Hot Carpet Care (Sebastopol) next time. The technician was supposed to arrive between 9-11, but didn't show until noon. When the technician Omar got to my home he was very polite however was not in a company van nor did he have a company shirt or uniform to acknowledge what company he was from which made me feel a little uncomfortable on whether or not I should open the door.. In addition, I was unable to get my carpets underneath my couch and chairs cleaned due to the the technician not having styrofoam lifters to place on the legs while the carpet is drying. Bought a Groupon coupon for $35. Fine print mentioned that the coupon was for basic steam clean for 3 rooms. However, when the cleaner arrived I quickly realized that the coupon is actually a discount coupon. The cleaner mentioned that the total bill is going to be $235 and after deducting the coupon amount it would come down to $200. It wasn't a pleasant experience. The cleaner and then the manager wasted a lot of my time trying to aggressively push a full clean (outright declined to do the basic steam clean that the coupon promised). The manager finally gave me a substantial discount and I relented as well. Overall it was a stressful frustrating experience. So please beware: This Groupon/Livingsocial coupon does NOT guarantee a service for the price mentioned. It's actually a DISCOUNT coupon. Be prepared to pay much more than you planned. read more

The deal was, "carpets cleaned for three to five rooms" and I literally wanted 3 feet by 30 feet of hall pathway cleaned. It cost $95 total. I purchased a Living Social coupon for carpet cleaning from GGCC , a $75 value. When the representative arrived, I discovered that first a measurement had to be made of the square foot area to be cleaned. The area turned out to be about 358 square feet. The representative, Eli, gave me three levels of cleaning. I elected the deep cleaning which I do once a year because I have a flat coat retriever. Eli was wonderful, helping a retiree like me move furniture. He worked quickly and thoroughly on my carpets. He befriended my dog who tried to insist he play with her. This was a gift for my daughter and her family that includes a 3 1/2 year old boy and a small dog. I received a budgetary quote over the phone - which is hard for a cleaning company to do as the resident's idea of of dirty is often quite different than it really is. However, my description and their quote sync'ed up and the price held. A very competitive price, by the way. Yotum was an excellent technician . I bought a voucher off Living Social to have my carpets cleaned. When I showed the tech my carpets, he said they needed to be deep cleaned - the carpets are only 9 months old. Since I was holding a party that weekend, I agreed to the additional change. He did give me a "discount" - first he quoted $175 minus the $35 I paid thru Living Social, but then he dropped it to $135 minus the $35. Thing is, I paid $35 for a $75 dollar value, but I was only going to be given $35 credit - that upset me, but like I said, I needed the carpets done for this weekend. 20/20 hindsight, I should have had him clean them regularly and if it needed it, have him do the deep clean. read more

Once Omer (the carpet technician) arrived and assessed the condition of my carpet (it hadn't been deep cleaned since we moved in 5.5 years ago) he advised me on what options I had, as steam cleaning wouldn't suffice.
