Came in an a Saturday morning and this place was off the charts busy. Took a bit for us to get seated and took some time to get our drink orders settled and our food orders lined up. That being said, the food here is really good. We went with two orders of the breakfast burritos (be ready for a lot of food), the biscuit and gravy with eggs and sausage, and the vegetarian quesadilla. All items were good, but service here needs a little improvement - there are lots of workers, but it feels like there is some improvement in the systems that could help. One of the kitchen helpers who brought out our food was really helpful and made sure we got what we needed, but our waitress looked a little lost at times. I think a lesson about dual purposing actions would help - if you bring food out to a table, be sure to bring cleared dishes on the way back. read more

We have added this as one of our fav go to spots in reno! The staff was welcoming, friendly, and attentive! There's plenty of room and a very clean and friendly atmosphere. What we loved was our meals! We started off with two lattes (sugar free vanilla and an iced horchata latte) our servers even brought water and little water cup for our little one. She was too busy to notice, because she was having a casual conversation with the manager. I had the Eggs Benedict. It came with either hash browns or pancakes. If you haven't heard of or been to; your missing out. A little out of the way but worth it nonetheless. It's not the best decoration restaurant (maybe 2/3 things on all the walls) but with the food that's coming out of the kitchen totally makes up for it. We were greeted and sat almost immediately. With the stupid weather the place wasn't to busy but as we enjoyed our meal people were starting to come in. One thing is for sure, you can't leave hungry if you tried. Walk inside the restaurant and there's about 10 tables or less and some tables outside. The waiter sat us down and came back with water and gave us a few more minutes to order our food. Service was good. My brother and sister in law and nephew and I each ordered something and we all shared. The French toast was so good! We added fresh fruits. The country fried steak was good. Flavor and cook wise was perfect. The eggs Benedict was good as I expected. The potatoes could have been seasoned a little more and made it crispier. Cute hidden cafe in Reno, down the street from Sierra Water Gardens. Inside the cafe was clean and on the plus side the staff was friendly and attentive. Hubby and I went in on a Wednesday morning and ordered a "Monte Cristo" and "Chilaquiles with over medium well eggs and steak". For drinks we ordered an iced horchata and coffee. Chilaquiles were way over drenched w a simple sauce and my eggs were not cooked to my liking, it was more over easy than over medium well. Monte Cristo came out w a hair hanging off the plate sticking to the drizzle. Waitress caught it after she served it to us and the waitress said they would remake the sandwich so that was nice but the chef in the back did not seem too happy about it. Giving this place a 3 star because of the hair, although it's an unforeseen thing that could happen without knowing.. it is preventable.. and as a customer once you see a long strand of hair in your food.. you kind of just lose your appetite & are cautious of it throughout your meal. How could I forget about Dickerson road?! It's a hidden gem and I love Gloria's café! Brunched with my family on a beautiful Sunday and we should have sat on their patio and soaked up some rays. Service was great and they were packed! So in love with their menu! We ordered steak and eggs, huevos ahogados and the kids ordered pancakes and I added sausage and eggs to their pancakes. Huevos ahogados was a weekend thing at home during my last pregnancy. I guess I haven't craved them again until recently, but I thoroughly enjoyed my fresh tortilla chips and homeade salsa with my Huevos ahogados. My eggs were a little over cooked for my liking, but the traditional flavors made up for it. Salsa was on the spicier side, but it was everything I was craving. I can't wait to come back! Tried out Gloria's for the first time while some friends were In town and it was great! We got their a little before our friends and got a table outside for our party of 5. We were greeted instantly inside and shown to our table. Got waters going and waited for the group. Once our friends joined us, we got some speciality coffees. I ordered a cappuccino with oat milk. Unfortunately they were out of outmilk but it's nice that they typically have it as an option. For breakfast I ordered the Gloria's special. It was pretty good! The salsa was way too hot for me but other than that it was tasty. It usually comes with corn tortillas but I asked for flour and they were able to substitute chipotle flour tortillas. Next time I want to try the Huevos rancheros. Our server was Sam and he was hilarious, attentive, kind, and quick. Everything you could want in a server. The type of server you request everytime you go to a restaurant. Got us all of our orders. Made sure they were all correct even though we all got a substitution here or there. TLDR: Good pancakes! So this place is kinda in the middle of nowhere. I wish it were in a better area, it has some kinda Deliverance-vibes, to be honest. But the food is pretty good! Turns out, I've been here before, but for some reason, no review. So here is my second try! I think the first time I tried their burrito. That's usually my go-to breakfast item. So this time, I tried the All-American. It's the basic American breakfast... 2 eggs, ham, browns, and toast. Unfortunately, I had ordered dry sourdough, but it came SLATHERED in butter. After scraping off most of the butter, the toast was decent. Not too hard and crunchy. Perfect for dipping into the over-easy eggs, which were cooked to perfection. The ham was a bit over-seasoned... a TOUCH too salty for me. The hash browns were cooked well, I like the crust at the top, but soft underneath. It too, was a bit too salty though. But I still enjoyed my meal a lot. My wife ordered a California Omelet with mini pancakes and also sourdough toast. The mini-cakes aren't that mini actually, maybe 4" diameter? They were the STAR of the whole meal. I had some of it, and it was fluffy and light. I really like them a lot. Again, it wasn't the PERFECT pancake either, because it was eeeeverr so slightly burnt. I could taste a little bit bitter aftertaste. But honestly, it didn't stop me from enjoying them. The omelet was also pretty good, LOTS of fillings, and was soft. Again the toast was supposed to be dry, but it wasn't at all. We both can understand, it's a habit thing, but the 5-star restaurants are mindful of this. Surprisingly, my wife liked their latte with oat milk. She thought it was pretty good. But they charge $1 for oat milk! Usually Peets or Starbucks charges about 60-70 cents for it. Our server seemed very shy. A bit hard to hear him sometimes, because he talks so softly. It's an endearing feature. The food in general tastes good. But there were many small mistakes that prevent this place from being truly a 5-star restaurant for us. Who knows? I might forget about visiting this place, so I might pop in a 3rd time! read more

Came here for breakfast with my family. I ordered chilaquiles with steak, and my Mom ordered the chicken fried steak. The food was not all that, the chilaquiles was in a bowl on top of beans and it made it soggy, and it was hard to separate the different things they put in the bowl. It seemed all mashed together. And my Mom told me that the chicken fried steak tasted really old like it was frozen for a really long time. She was unable to eat the leftovers the next day, the flavor was stale. We ordered chai tea latte and it tasted like it was made out of pure milk. I had very little chai tea flavor, we had to send it back because I did not like it at all. I think this place is OK. Definitely can use improvement in some areas with the food and beverage. Very expensive too... maybe bring down the price a little bit to match the food and beverage quality, or raise the food and beverage. Quality to match the price. read more

When you first arrive to park it can seem out of place or off, but I assure you find a spot and go in. Don't be thrown off course. Once you arrive inside you will quickly be greeted and served. The old world feeling of a slow sip cappuccino or espresso while enjoying the warm atmosphere will transport you away from the typical breakfast dinner. Time is slower, but no sacrifice in service. Take your time and unwind. They have both Spanish/Mexican style breakfast as well as French and Traditional plates. Tortilla chips are homemade. It was hard to decide what to pick as many of the dishes will have you wishing there was a menu sampler. Ultimately decided on the huevos ahogados and was not disappointed, but really wanted to try the monte cristo or the eggs benedict. There is room to accommodate a large group but also laid out where I didn't feel out of place going alone. Larger tables are separated by a half wall and arch where the small cafe tables are on the bar side. Furniture was wood, not metal, so warm and comfortable. Great place to read a paper or meet up with old friends for catching up. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed in this gem. read more

Visiting Reno wanted to eat somewhere outside of a casino. Went here based on Yelp reviews and EVERYTHING we ate was so good. Generous portions, very very flavorful. I wish it was closer to my house. While looking for new breakfast/brunch spots, my daughter and I came across this tucked away cafe for brunch before heading back to the Bay Area. It's a little artsy, industrial type area, modeled for a cafe, with the shell being a converted garage. Parking is hit or miss, more street parking. I noticed it's across the street from condos/townhouses. Super cool for anyone living in that area. We were seated right away. Mixture of tables, from 1-8 persons, comfortably. It does have an outdoor patio area, which I thought was cool, for those nice spring/summer mornings. Would be cool possibly if they opened up the garage door and did more tables in/out? I can see why this place gets busy! The food was delicious, platted in an extremely visually appealing way and the owner was very accommodating (she offered for us to move inside because it was cold, we initially turned down the request but then decided we should go back and ask her because we realized we didn't have jackets for the kids). The interior design is nice. The walls are different muted colors but it's done in a tasteful (not tacky) way. I'm curious if they were themed around be particular painting they have up or of they happened to find a painting that perfectly tied in with the different walls. I digress... back to the food-- delicious! I was especially impressed with the chorizo. The chorizo tasted like actual ground pork seasoned well with spices (not "mystery meat".). The atmosphere is pretty basic, which makes it quaint in a simple way. Hands down the best Chilaquiles in Reno. The ranchero sauce is unbelievable. I can highly recommend the Monte Cristo (with a beautiful presentation!) and the chilaquiles with chorizo are dynamite as well, though they serve them with a spicy sauce that is SUPER hot, so be careful with the pour! I've also had the horchata latte (yum!) and hashbrowns (decent!) This place is consistent in quality and service, so it's a spot I find myself gravitating back to again and again.
