What a find! After being in the car all day after our drive from TN, we chose the Wingate by Wyndham (Winchester) for our overnight stay because this amazing restaurant sits just STEPS away! I mean, after 8 hrs in the car, the last thing you want to do is get back in the car and search for food. Even better than the convenience is the restaurant itself. They have EVERYTHING. The menu takes a minutes to get through (all delicious)... salads to burgers and everything you can imagine. We sit at the bar for a glass of wine and chat with Justin who is a really great guy. Everyone there is friendly and I cannot say enough for the food. We have been there two times and cannot wait to circle back again. I highly recommend the BLT Salmon Salad. The food was OK service not so much. They seem really busy. It's typical bar food me and my wife and my daughter. We're looking for something new other than the local Williamsburg stuff we decided to pick this place on a whim it was OK nothing really to write home about, the decor of the restaurant was more like a Alban the man cave, lots of jerseys and sportsman. This review is a bit late, but I had already written it out and had forgotten to post it. A few months I had went to Glory Days Grill on a recommendation from a friend that was giving great spots for Philly Cheese Steak sandwiches. I am very big on Philly's so I went to this location to see how the sandwich would pan out. How did my experience go? To find out, read below. What I liked: Service- Upon being seated, the server was friendly, personable and eager to answer any questions and refill drinks without being asked. When the food was ordered, it came out well within 20 minutes and it was piping hot. Couldn't ask more for impeccable service. Taste of Philly Cheese Steak- I ordered the Philly with fries. I thoroughly enjoyed this Philly due to the flavoring of the meat, the amount of grease on the sandwich (A Philly without grease just aint a Philly), and how the peppers and onions compliment the tasty meat. The french fries were also tasty too. Price/Portion of the Philly- The price of the Philly was a shade under $10, but for that I got a sandwich that was pretty filling as well as an order of fries. I can say that I felt like I had gotten my monies worth with this order. What I didnt like: Moms Mac N Cheese- I am a huge stickler for Mac n Cheese, so whenever a dish on the menu calls itself Moms Mac N Cheese, I knew that I had to try it. Unfortunately, trying it was a big regret. The portion of Mac n Cheese I got cost $2.99 and if I could rename the dish it would be called Step Moms Mac n Cheese. All I tasted was bland macaroni and cheese... not a lot of seasoning or other flavor profiles. Some may enjoy this version of Mac n Cheese, but I've been spoiled by going to too many revivals, family reunions, food festivals and Thanksgiving to not know what good Mac n Cheese is. Overall- I enjoyed my experience. Although the Mac n Cheese was a miss for me, I loved the Philly, side of fries and everything else about my experience at Glory Days Grill. I recommend others give Glory Days a try. FOUR STARS. read more

Recently I met a friend here for lunch and I ran into an initial snafu. The hostess seating us might have been new. She didn't want to seat us in the section we wanted, although the place was nearly empty. But we just sat in our chosen booth anyway. Then she gave us one paper menu. When I went to ask for another, she said we'd have to share. Now, I understand the protocols for Covid, but if a customer asks for another menu, by all means accommodate them. I was getting a little peeved, and my friend and I were getting up to go somewhere else... because for Pete's sake, there are literally dozens of other restaurants on Hull Street! But then the manager, Lauren, came by and turned my frown upside down. She explained that the girl was new and corrected our concerns. She and our server, a nice young man, were courteous and helpful through the rest of our stay. We ended up ordered the Nachos special, guacamole and a half chicken Caesar salad which were just as tasty as ever! Thanks for saving a customer by providing professional and efficient service. We stopped in Sunday for dinner around 5:00 pm. Service was very poor due to the size of the crowd there for the game. A good majority of the customers were not ordering dinner, they were taking up tables to watch the game, many drinking water! There was a waiting line to get seated for dinner due to the tables being occupied by people that were there to watch the football game, not for dinner. The noise was so loud, my wife and I struggled to have a conversation. Some of the surrounding tables literally brought cow bells that that they rang whenever one of the football players made a good play! And we are there to have a quiet dinner. As for food, i would rate it 3 stars, I think it could be better if the kitchen was staffed correctly. When a asked why the manager would let people into the restaurant with cow bells , I was told the manager was busy cooking in the kitchen! It is safe to say we will not be going back. read more

The kitchen is def struggling with cook times. I ordered a medium burger and my daughter ordered wings. The burger was rare. Like still cold and raw in the center rare, and the wings were really undercooked. Not like raw, raw, but the texture of the chicken was that rubbery shiny not done enough especially on the larger wings they just needed 3-4 more minutes in the fryer. We ate the smaller wings but I did send the burger back. Food came out in 5 mins flat, which is great, if things are actually cooked through. Our server was nice. I'm writing this so management is aware. I left feeling a bit grossed out. read more

Well the food was pretty good but this was negatively overshadowed by our waitress with an attitude. It seemed like all the other staff was having to do her job most of the time. Another waitress took our drink order and set down 3 (thin) beverage napkins. Our real waitress showed up with the drinks and set the drinks halfway on the beverage napkins...glad I didnt get a lap full of coke. Then I ordered wings. I asked for additional napkins because, ya know wings are messy. She stated to me, "the napkins are all up under the drink." And walked away. WOW! She did return with a small stack of beverage sized napkins. Thank god for that 1 wet nap on my plate. We were in the area shopping and we had eaten here before and this location has always been consistent. We were warmly greeted and seated. Our servers name was DJ and he was really attentive and friendly. I have a garlic allergy and he went to the kitchen and found out if I could have a few of the items I was interested in ordering. He was very thorough in making sure our drinks were filled and making sure that whatever I ordered I was good with no garlic. Went to the Tilted Kilt first, and they had a few games on, but were playing the damn radio or their songlist and no audio for the games. Went to Glory Days and they have the coolest little speakers at each table, and you can tune into whichever TV you want, based on a little number on the TV. Never have seen that before. Alexis, my server, did a GREAT job! Kept my tea full the whole time and made a very good suggestion for an appetizer (crab dip). I waited for that to settle and finally after another 2 hours of watching football I ordered the grilled chicken salad with BACON RANCH dressing. YUM! I highly recommend this place. This is a great place for large groups. Our theater cast and staff gathers here after our second Saturday night performance. They open late and accommodate all of us (a crowd of 50+!) Next thing I like is that they have bison burgers. Yes, bison, that super lean, delicious meat that substitutes beef patties. You don't find bison in many burger joints, including Burger Bach, but here you do! Most amazing of all, at least for me, is that they pay great attention to food allergies. I came to have dinner with my husband and what I came into was an immature and childish bartender who walked to my table and pointed at my table and ranted that about she can't make an Arnold Palmer w/Titos . Come on, this is an easy drink that anyone can make in their sleep. Lemonade, Tea and Tito's vodka. I later also found that the person claiming to be the manager was only an associate covering up for the bartender who left the bar to go two rows back to complain about a bartender basic with a MAJOR attitude! Who points at a customer menu on the table yelling? Bad Day? I knew when she was hiding under the bar the guilt of her actions started to become apparent. Thanks to the actual manager who spoke to my husband and apologized for the situation and acknowledged that she was out of element. Drinks were generous and the service was a little inattentive (drink was empty for 15 min and then credit card sat out for another 5). Younger staff seemed occupied with socializing. I drove all the way there from my home while on hold when she got on the phone. she completed taking my order while I was literally in the parking lot, only to tell me that it will take them 25 minutes to prepare the order. Came to the phone twice and could care less that I mentioned I had been on hold for a while. Moreover, they have a horrendous hold sound of old baseball games with horrible static. Every time we come we wonder why we don't go there more often. It's kind of tucked away and hidden off the "main drag" of Hull Street but worth keeping an eye out for. Everything we've ordered from wings (the sweet ones are fabulous, I don't care for super hot and appreciate the choices!) to the kids' pizza bagel is tasty. The fries are great. Some of the best burgers we've found, and my husband, a chicken finger connaisseur (don't ask) pronounces their chicken "good." That's high praise for him.
