Went in on a Thursday a few minutes before five. No one was at the front desk and no one seemed to notice me. I saw a sign with an iPad to "sign in." I attempted, but the screen was locked. I waited for about ten minutes and still no one acknowledged me. A tech came to the front to take another woman back who was waiting and still no acknowledgment. I needed to use the restroom so just walked back towards the pedi chairs and asked. They directed me toward the bathroom but still no one asked what I needed. I used the restroom and walked out. I use dip and tips and after soaking off my color with acetone, the tech was going to reuse my old tips! How lazy! I told her no. The appointment went down hill from there. If you have natural nails, go somewhere else. I used to get gel manicures religiously. My nails are naturally strong and with the gel, they would never break or tear. During the pandemic, I didn't get my nails done for a year. I went to Glow Nail Bar for my first gel mani since March 2020. I originally gave a 5-star review based on the initial visit. Second visit wasn't good. The nail tech used a grinder to remove the gel polish. I had never had it removed this way and questioned if it was safe on natural nails. I was assured it would not damage my nails. The manicure itself was not as good as the first time. The polish was not applied evenly and was very think after the nail tips. I chalked it up to one bad nail tech. Third visit, I made sure to request a different tech. I also went early, so I would have time to look at colors which I hate doing with one hand. I was initially given the same tech again. She rushed me back and when I asked if I could have time to look first, she said no, you can look with one hand. So, I managed to pick my colors only to find out I was given regular polish colors. Then, I was moved to a different seat and tech to finish wrapping my nails and given the gel colors. At this point, I can barely maneuver through the colors because my usable hand has wrapped nails and. A plastic glove. The tech just starts showing me colors then declares they don't have the color I want. At this point, someone comes and takes the colors saying they'll bring them back in 5 min. I was left with one ring of colors in my hand and had to choose from them. The tech again used the grinder to remove the gel polish. I could tell my nails were really weak from having them ground down twice. Now they are all tearing, even with the gel polish on. They ruined my nails, and I laid them to do it. read more

I asked for thin dip gel but she couldn't get it thin enough to my liking. My fingers were hurting at this point. Not so accommodating with appointments. Okay so I went here from January-May of last year (2022). The first two or three acrylic sets were good, prices I noticed were a little more than other places but my nail tech always did a good job so I overlooked it. Then around my last two sets I noticed that extra charges were being added that were not originally disclosed on the online price. A charge for the almond shape was added which was odd because I never had it before and I always got almond shaped nails so it was extraordinarily confusing. The one time I got square, the charge for almond to change it back was not added. However when I kept almond it was, so I was being charged for a shape I already had. When I asked the nail tech about it she said it was because I had her shorten the nail so it took extra work. Once I was in there and a girl only brought exact cash and so when they added extra charges her mother came in and just took her and her daughter out because they were not expecting this. When my mother contacted the owner about their poor business tactics, she was banned from their website. Thinking back, when I first got my set, I asked for regular polish and Alice said, "Gel is better, it lasts longer," and gave me gel polish, *which she charged me extra for* when I didn't want it. Every "suggestion" is pretty much them saying what they're going to do and you don't get a choice. I do not recommend this place, a few people have asked me about them and I have never said to go there because of their poor tactics. read more

They are very disorganized, lost my appointment then proceeded to tell me they wouldn't be able to reschedule me except for late at night. I had the phone log and they said it was the correct number meaning it was their mistake. The man was speaking so quietly I could barely hear him. Would not recommend going here, give your business to someone who is organized and better with clients. This is my favorite nail salon in the Columbus area! This salon is modern, super clean, and stylish. The nail bar is sleek, not like your other traditional places. The pedicure chairs have massagers and the tubs have liners. It always smells fresh and not like chemicals. They offer beverages to customers. I just found out they also do acrylic nails but it's in the side area that's well ventilated. I would come here always if I lived closer. I went to Glow to get a pedicure and dip manicure in preparation for my vacation a few days ago. My pedicure was done first and I was satisfied with it. However, it had already chipped. I got my dip manicure next. The man who did my manicure left dip powder on the skin surrounding my nails and made no attempt to get it off. I won't be back. I decided to try them for the powder dip nails I've been getting for over a year at another salon. I like them because they look great and last about 3 weeks even with frequent swimming & hot tub soaks. However my first concern with Tammy, the girl who did my nails @ Glow was her filing my real nails down very thin with the electronic filer. I told her I'd never seen anyone do that and she said it was necessary to make them look real. I knew this was not true because my old nail tech never did this and I always got compliments on them. When she was done I asked about my hand massage and she said they don't do those and in very broken English she added that "every salon different". I was a little shocked since this place is not cheap and I've never been told that before. Well surprise surprise within about 2 DAYS my NOW overly filed, thin nails started to crack. I went back and she repaired 3 nails and instead of simply repairing the nail she had to take everything off and redo the entire nails which took about 30 min. Other places take about 5 minutes to repair. She filed them again and the next day, the polish started to chip and crack again. I scheduled a 3rd appt. for her to fix it AGAIN but then decided to cancel to avoid wasting more time and having further damage to my nails. Everyone was very polite but I can't recommend this place or at least Tammy because it definitely was a waste of my time and $53. It's also hard to get them on the phone so they give you a number to text that they take way too long to respond to. RESPONSE TO THE SALON MGR: My only reason for referencing Tammy's broken English was relevant because at times it was difficult to communicate with her and I felt she wasn't always comprehending what I was saying. It really just added to an already frustrating experience. My thin nails continue to crack and chip so I've made an appt. with another salon to redo my nails. She commented that she doesn't dip 4 times in the powder like others because it looks too thick but my nails have always looked great with 4 dips. She may want to work on perfecting her ability to make them look more natural with 4 dips. And take the extra 2 min. to add hand massages - it's really a nice "finishing touch". read more

Updating my five star review to a one star after my most recent visit. It had been a while since my last visit due to Covid and unfortunately, they are under new management and you can definitely tell. It's not the same Glow Nail Bar that it used to be. The vibe is different, none of the staff is the same and they are not as friendly. Glow used to be my go to spot and was amazing when Jason was the owner. It's so disappointing that things have changed so drastically. I made appointments for 5 people for Manis & Pedis for 2pm on a Friday. After waiting about 10 minutes they took us back to the pedicure chairs. Two people were started on 20 min after our reservation time, the third and fourth person 40 min after our reservation time and after waiting over an hour without service, the 5th person in our party opted to not have her nails done at all. The rest of us also opted not to proceed with getting our manicures as we had things to do and could not afford to be at the nail salon for hours on end. Which is why you make a reservation in the first place. They should have never accepted a reservation for 5 people when they only had 6-7 people on staff and clearly had other appointments and/or walk ins at that time. This never would have happened under the previous ownership. I had multiple appointments for larger parties and it was never an issue. I certainly will not be giving the new management/owners my business in the future. read more

I have never had a bad experience here. Tammy always does my nails and pays great attention to detail. I have sampled so many nail salons around the Columbus area, including a nearby spa. They don't compare to how well done and well run this business is. Jason is the nicest guy. He is approachable and fixes issues with customers that are often beyond what I could consider reasonable. People have come in after having their nails done two weeks ago and asked to have them redone for whatever bs reason and he will do it to placate them. He is that nice. There is no room for any negative talk here about this business. I see only good things for such a well thought out business plan and excellent attention to customer satisfaction. Loved this nail salon! It has an industrial chic decor. The lighting is especially soothing and cool. The staff was very welcoming. The receptionist handed me a menu to pick a service from and a basket of colors. I did make an appointment so I don't know about walk in service. The nail tech, Malena, was extremely clean. She told me about the new bag which is out in the pedicure bowl every time.
