came in from DC to see friends and family, thought I'd treat us to a little mani pedi. my pedicure, I didn't even get to choose what I wanted, the person did their own thing. she was really nice and did a decent job- tho again, no choice and no frills, but I'm not upset about her. But WHILE I'm getting my pedicure, the nail tech started doing the manicure. no hand washing or exfoliating scrub or cuticle care AT ALL. dude is coughing and coughing, he's wearing a mask at least. but it was SO AWKWARD. I'd ask questions, he wouldn't answer. just intermittent coughs. dude should have stayed home with that nasty cough. so my no frills pedicure is over, I make it to the table to get paint on my nails but now I can actually see them and they look like crap. A lady whom I assume is the manager comes over and asks if all is ok. I show her my nails. she says something to tech and he starts aggressively removing the paint. the paint wasn't the problem-- my cuticles looked lIke crap and should have been pushed back and trimmed so that my manicure could look right. basic manicure 101, right? that's step one. The person who did my pedicure comes over and goes "oh that's normal, cuticle push back would have been $10 extra". I'm like ok so $10- no one told me that. Captain coughs a lot apparently was so ill he couldn't tell me that. The guy at the main counter is right next to us. he's so busy scrolling his phone he never says a word. I assume he's the owner...he was useless. the fact that they charge extra for the basics is wild, but they never bothered to tell me that for $10 more I could have had a normal, nice looking manicure. The brand new nails already looked like they'd been outgrown by weeks and already needed a fill in BEFORE I EVEN WALKED OUT. I was super upset to hand over almost $200 for the 2 of us and my nails looked like garbage from the start. I have never in my life had such a busted ass set of nails. here's what they look like less than a week later. DONT GO HERE. If I lived anywhere near there I'd have pitched a fit until they were fixed but lucky for them I'm 500 miles away. This place obviously doesn't give 2 sh1ts abouts their customers. the ONE star is for my no frills pedicure just because I liked the person. if I could give my manicure person and management -100 stars, I would. on future trips, we won't be coming back to UNhappy Nails. zero stars. do not recommend. Update: this place actually lashed out at me on social media and tried to blame me for this, saying we came at closing time and they told me up front it would be rushed. A- I called ahead. I asked if there was enough time he was very casual and said yeah come on down we have time. But that was not the case. He also tried to say his employee wasn't sick. Ok? I guess he's just a mask wearing mute who coughs a lot? Odd. And no one told me about $10 upcharge to do a nice job- clearly I would have chosen that. And had the guy just been honest WHEN I CALLED AHEAD and communicated that there wasn't enough time to properly take care of us, we'd have simply gone elsewhere. Now I'm on day 11 of crappy nails. First pic was day 3- which is exactly how they looked as soon as they were done. Which I expressed before I left and it was never fixed. Now at day 11, these nails are almost off, my hair keeps getting under them.... They should have looked awesome when first done and lasted at least 3 weeks before having any kind of worn out look. So not only did they fail my nails, they failed at customer service- TWICE. Oh-- and did I mention they referred to my wife and my sister, for no apparent reason? Homophobic maybe. Idk. But I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. What could they improve? Everything. Vibe? Haphazard. read more

My 16 year old daughter came back crying because they changed her despite her telling them several times to stop the service. I had been having gel nails done since mid November. My tech, was very nice, talked me into a balance every 4 weeks rather than a new set each time. I took her advice. However at the 4 month time frame I noticed my nails had become very, very thick. At my last "balance" appointment when I got to my car I noticed that my nails looked like a wad of gum was stuck on top. Several people suggested I go back to get it fixed. I made an appointment with the same tech for the next day. My tech wasn't available so another tech agreed and tried to thin the nail down. It was a fair "patch job", definitely not great. At that point I decided to wait a few weeks and then get them removed. My tech pulled her power file out and I saw chunks of gel nail flying. She drilled and drilled. She stuck my big ole hand in a tiny dish of Acetone for a total of 30 seconds each and began drilling again. Suddenly she put oil on my nails and grabbed my hands for lotion and said I was done. My nails are a disaster. There are still areas of gel on all but three nails. My nails are all split on the edges clear to the quick and 1 nail has a split dead center that keeps showing up every few days. They are all very sore. The tech took zero care of my nails in the removal process. There is no excuse for the aggressive treatment I received. read more

Went in asking for dip . Left with 2 cuts , and powder residue on my skin ! I've been coming to this place for about a year now. I used to see Lilly, and she was great but then she left unexpectedly. I decided to go back because they are conveniently close to home however the experience just got worse. I have tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but after today I couldn't keep quiet anymore. Not to mention they charge " $5" for " special nail shape" although this is the shape of my natural nails. I will not be going back anymore. Hope this review helps someone else out. read more

I have been going to happy nails for a year or so now bc of the proximity to my house, typically with no complaints. But the last two times have been poor experiences. Last time I got a dip manicure with a design. The design was good, but the top coat was splotchy and uneven with spots that didn't even get coated (on literally every nail), and I had to re-file when I got home because the edges kept catching on things. He did not ask me what shape I wanted, nor did he make sure they were even the same lengths. Not worth it for $80.00+. Because of this, my nails didn't last long at all. Took a chance and went back out of convenience, but again, same nail tech, and again uneven top coat, and unnaturally thick at the base of may nails, which he did not file/shape, as they typically do. If you're looking for quality, avoid Danny or go elsewhere. read more

I would give 0-stars if I could. first the technician was rough during my supposed luxury pedicure. Secondly, when I called and told the salon I had a rash after clay mask there was no apology. I emailed the manager Naomi and she offered half off a pedicure, which was okay but then after only 13 days my gel popped off my pedicure. I paid $89 and took time to send pics and the manager Naomi responded unprofessionally and in accustatory manner. Do not go to this salon. Didn't talk, started putting on the wrong color until I stopped him. didn't ask me if I liked the length or shape. Too long, wanted squoval and he did square so I had to re file them when I got home. I came here because I saw this place had great reviews. I haven't had my nails done in years so I was excited. I decided to try something new and do Dip nails in red. My nail artist messed up at least 5 times when sanding down my nails and had to re-do individual nails multiple times because she accidentally sanded out huge chunks. I told my artist I wanted Chrome on top of the red. I picked out a clear chrome color but when she opened the chrome color, it was silver and not what I wanted. She applied it a few of my nails until a coworker realized thats not what I asked for. I was trusting of the process and thought it might look differently later on in the process. She took the chrome off and talked to employees in a language I could not understand. I was never informed what was going on while getting my nails done, it just seemed like a bunch of trial and error. Eventually I got a gold chrome over my red nails. The nail color looks okay, but wasn't what I had hoped for. I had already been there for nearly 2 hours and needed to leave so the gold chrome would have to do. I've never had dipped nails before so after showing them off to a friend who always gets dipped nails, we realized how bumpy, thick, and uneven they are. I don't know the name of the person who did my nails, but I will not be coming back here. read more

THEIR PRICE BOOK MEANS NOTHING, IF THEY ARE ADDING ON CHARGES OUTSIDE OF THE NORMAL SERVICE COST. I visited Happy Nails on 05/03/24 & 5/24/24 with my daughter. I got a full set and my daughter got a balance. The first visit was pleasant and so I decided to return. On my 2nd visit things really did change. The technician was ok at first, but then she began talking about her addiction to gambling that she and her friend has. She laughed and mentioned her friends husband made her friend promise not to go back to the casino and she did anyway and lost $1200. She then started asking if I wanted additional services like, a pedicure, cut down, gel polish and I immediately knew what she was doing upselling. She even said I was plain because I did not want any gel polish. BTW, I have french nail tips. When the time came to check out I was quoted $78.28. I asked why it was so much for a balance? The guy at the front desk proceeded to say that the nail tech "painted my french on and she gave me gel polish and a gel balance". I replied, I have french tips how did she paint them on and she only put on a top coat of gel which she insisted. He replied, I will get her so she can explain to you what she did. After waiting for her explanation and for her to come from the back after he called her 3 x's. She said I did for you a balance i said yes. I said you did not paint my french on because I have french tips on and i did not have gel color, you only put on gel clear top coat and the powder you used was clear. After, she went back and forth on pricing and making up charges, the supposed manager came to me and said ma'am why are you complaining about the charges? I said because she is trying to charge me for services she did not do, and I am a consumer and I can ask / question about any charges on my bill. He said she did not charge you for shaping your nails, I said rightly so, this is a balance I could see if it were a full set. He said you have almond nails, I said okay. I said sir I am not trying to cause a scene like you are implying, she is charging for services she did not do. After I refused to argue with him, i turned to ask her what are the real charges. She then tried to say what he said, I did not charge you for shaping your nails... I said, I know because you were not supposed to. I said how is this BALANCE $78 when the full set was only $50. I them asked again what are my real charges? After a while, they gave the real amount of $48.28. How were they / her and the manager going to take $30 extra dollars she did no services on. Please pay attention and not accept what they are charging. read more

Very accommodating for scheduling. Very disappointing gel pedicure. Happy nails charges additional $15 on top of pedicure costs for gel polish. Three of us went in for gel pedicures costing $70 each for middle of the row pricing. First day one of the gals small toe nail polish came off. The front person and technician were neither friendly or unfriendly, just a fib I got. Cleanliness? That was my concern. I won't go to an establishment that doesn't have the plastic cover for the basin. When they took me to the chair, I got the impression that it hadn't been cleaned. They went into the back to retrieve a cover and while they did that, I remembered I had wipes from and previous outing for my kids. I preceded to wipe the chair down myself. Went here for the first time today with my wife and we were both very disappointed with the customer service. The website and the prices in the nail salon do not match. We went in expecting to pay $20 (which the service was hardly even worth that) for our pedicures since that is clearly what the website states, but instead were charged $25 a person. We showed them the website where it lists $20 and asked if they would honor this price and told "no, bc that's a price from 8 years ago..." No five dollars isn't a huge deal, but when your website states some price, and then when I hand you my credit card and you up the price on me I think that is what I call bate and switch. I love this shop! I live in Westerville but had never found a shop that I like and was driving to Canal Winchester to get my nails done! I stopped in on an afternoon when I just didn't have time to make the drive to my normal shop. I've been back several times. I've had 3 different ladies do my nails and each time was great. I'm horrible with names so I couldn't tell you their names. I do acrylic nails and get gel polish. They've always done a great job with the length and shape. I keep my nails longish and in coffin shape. They've even done nail art and it's never been expensive. I think the most expensive visit was $40 and that was for a balance, gel polish, nail art, and a nail repair where I broke a nail (my fault, nothing to do with the application). I like that I can make an appointment for any day of the week! read more

I came here because I needed to get my acrylic nails off ASAP and couldn't get in to my regular salon. I used to come here off and on several years ago but stopped because I found the people who worked here rude and unfriendly. So I was really surprised when I read that the salon has new owners and decided to give it a shot. I called to see if I needed an appt and was told no, come right over. The salon looks much different now and has been updated. So that was a plus. The people who work here now are friendly. Another plus. The acrylic removal was good. Didn't hurt - although she did nick my skin twice. That action didn't tickle. But still, it was a plus. I had a manicure done and gel Polish put on. The manicure was good. The gel polish coverage is adequate. But here's where I think it loses points, at least to me: the nail tech I usually see is in Gahanna on Hamilton Rd. That salon is SPOTLESS. The materials used are top notch. After soaking my nails in the acetone, I watched this nail tech at Happy Nails dump the bowl of my dirty acetone - it had gel and acrylic nail crumbles in it - back into a dirty jug sitting on the floor behind her. Ew. Also, my hands were on a hand towel as she worked. At the other salon, my tech will fold it as she works so as she moves into doing something new with the process, she folds the towel so that work surface under my hands is clean. This tech at HN simply took the towel and shook it so that the mess of the removal, the powdery mess of my old acrylic and gel nails-just went into the air and onto the floor next to her chair. Those particles are teeny so I'm sure the actual work surface got some, too. So this lack of sanitary measures - the dumping of the acetone and shaking of the towel - really kind of grossed me out. I have had acrylic nails for a few months. I went to different places to get them balanced, including Angel Nails (in Polaris Meijer) and the Angel Nails on County Line and Sunbury Rds. This is the only place I will allow to do my nails now. The people were really friendly and the nail tech didn't hurt when she balanced them. The price was good. I will definitely come here again and I would recommend them to anyone. It was my 19 year old daughter who told me to come here and she was right. read more
