Really wanted to like this place. Very clean! It's small with only 3 pedicure chairs and a few manicure seats. I'd call to make a reservation! Tried them cause I found the Groupon for a Collagen Gel manicure. Typically, gel mani costs $40. They have a large selection of colors. The lady took her time shaping my nails and trimming my cuticles. I went in around lunch time on a Friday and was the only one there for the entire time. Sadly, my gel manicure chipped within three days on multiple fingers. Because the price is a little more than that I usually pay and they didn't even last a week, I don't think I'll be returning! read more

This salon is atrocious. I walked in having booked an "organic pedicure" on ClassPass. The woman who welcomed me in seemed clueless and was asking me for proof beyond the reservation I was showing her on my phone. She started to insinuate I was at the wrong address and so I recited the address to her (the address I was at). At that point I assumed I'd be treated like a nuisance. Unfortunately I was correct. The pedicure lasted a grand total of maybe 20 minutes. After cutting my nails and roughly pulling on my feet, she did a whisper of a leg and foot massage and used a teaspoon of lotion on each leg. She made sure to rush me out of the chair to take care of two other customers - one who was returning with a chipped nail to get fixed. The entire experience was the exact opposite of relaxing and I really have no idea why they're even on ClassPass if they're going to treat non-regulars like idiotic pariahs. In short, go to any of the hundreds of other salons nearby. Edit: I didn't realize until I went to check if my toenails were dry that the woman scraped actual skin off the side of my foot! I had dried blood on my foot after she did my nails and she neglected to tell me she had cut me with the foot scraper! To make matters worse the manager/owner ? gave me a bandaid and apologized - and in the same breath told me to tip the same woman who cut me and neglected health and safety protocols by not telling me my foot was now cut and susceptible to the hotbed of germs in the pedicure water bin area! I rarely leave reviews and hate to leave such a negative one, but given the shocking and upsetting situation I experienced at Refresh Nails tonight, CONSIDER THIS YOUR WARNING: AVOID THIS PLACE unless you don't care about the price you pay to get your nails done. SPECIFICALLY, DO NOT TRUST PRICES THEY GIVE YOU OVER THE PHONE, even if you call ahead same day. I arrived only 20 min. after calling the salon to confirm 1) they could take me and 2) that I could afford their Gel mani&pedi cost--which was originally stated to be $90 total and is the reason I decided to go here instead of somewhere else (plenty of other options nearby). Clearly this place lowballed me just to get a new customer in the door. But even worse was the staff's complete disregard and lack of respect for their customers when they blindsided me at checkout with a new, MUCH HIGH COST now totaling $150 (and that's before gratuity). Politely, I tried over and over again to point out to my nail tech that a $60 increase was excessive and frankly not something I could afford. The ONLY difference in the service I received was adding Tip extensions w/ my mani. That's an add-on service I've gotten done dozens of times, and NEVER paid anywhere close to $60 (typically costs around $20 more for the Tips....though I've often paid less than that, depends on the place). Unfortunately for me, Refresh salon must be new or under new management because nowhere are prices by service listed. Overall tonight's experience here was incredibly frustrating....the workers did not understand nor care to hear me out as I stressed we agreed to an original price of $90, the only up-charge was for the Tips so what's the cost of that add-on to my mani. The staff's response was a mix of straight up ignoring me and just continuing to state $150 $150 $150 as the amount I owed them, and the final straw in attempting to negotiate, when they pulled this random and unsubstantiated claim out of thin area about the polish color I picked actually being a different, and more expensive, kind of gel. I'd had enough, paid them in full, and left the store. Basic courtesy - at a bare minimum- would have been to give me a simple heads up to that the added little service I was requesting would cost me an extra $60 .....or a Hey BTW this brings your total up SIGNIFICANTLY HIGHER than what you're expecting to pay today, is that ok/feasible for you? The answer would have been No. Avoid the headache and get your nails done somewhere else. read more

Made an appointment for a groupon deal for a collagen gel manicure and just an add on regular pedicure. It was on the smaller side with 4 manicure and 4 pedicure spots. There was 2 people working and 1 person on the phone. Pedicure: It was a regular pedicure and she was very thorough with cleaning up my toenails which I appreciated. She used a disposable foot scrubber and I could see her take out her tools from a new sterile packet. She suggested a square shape and I'm happy with how it turned out! Gel manicure: I'm not too sure what a collagen gel manicure entails and I'm not too sure if the lady who did my nails knew either. It was a regular gel manicure and there was nothing special added on. The gel manicure was good though which is why I'm sticking it to a 5 star. I asked for an almond shape and she was very thorough with making sure my nails were all evenly shaped. Overall: the place was pretty clean and the lady who did my nails was professional and you could tell she knew what she was doing. I would definitely go back and think I found a new regular nail spot! Side note: I noticed at least 3 people who came in without an appointment on a Friday night for both a mani and a pedi...I understand walk-ins are definitely possible but please make sure to be nice about it or make an appointment or honestly you can probably call in advance before you leave your house to see if there's any appointments lined up already. I felt bad for the lady doing my nails having to stop every 20 minutes to tell that it says on Groupon that appointments are required and for this to go back and forth longer than necessary. read more

I just stopped in for a 15 minute chair massage and it was fabulous. Really comprehensive- upper and lower back plus arms. Cost about $20 plus tax so about $21, if you paid cash + gratuity (they prefer cash). Worth every penny. Can't wait to come back. The salon/spa is clean and fairly priced. read more

Initially my experience went well, I had a few minor issues with the shape but overall they were nice and the color was really cute. Two days after I got my nails done the color chipped on two of my nails. I went back and the fixed it for free which was great. My issues were in the removal process, they lifted pretty early and when I got them taken off the amount of glue they used for the gelx was insane. It made my nails so thin and one of my nails is so damaged it hurts even post removal. I also have to give my nails a break and can't get gelx again for at least a month bc the glue is still on my nails and they're too thin to drill off. Maybe a nice salon for other things but don't get gelx there read more

PB is the best! I get my nails done every 2 weeks here and it is the best. Gel is 38 dollars including gel removal and my nails easily last 2 weeks. I never get chipping and at the end of the 2 weeks they still look brand new. Pb spends so much time getting your nails perfect and is so sweet, i would highly recommend coming here and seeing her. read more

I was wandering around the Upper East Side trying to find a salon to take off my acrylics and even though they were super busy I was seen almost right away. The women were so kind and removed them easily. I've had horror experiences before removing acrylics and this was wonderful. Afterwards I got a gel manicure and it's exactly what I wanted. I only go here for pedicures but they are the best. I always make an appointment and it seems there are only two women who work here. They are very clean and do a great job. it's a little more expensive but the cleanliness and quality make it worth it. When I get a pedicure here, it lasts much longer than the less expensive places. Staff was very nice. A day after my SNS manicure the top clear coat came off making them very rough looking and not shiny at all. My nails also aren't square as I asked twice for them and they sort of came out coffin shaped. I also noticed that they cracked and think it's because I never had a base SNS white powder and just got the pink coat applied directly to my nail. Wasn't sure why I got a gel coat also because I asked for SNS. I paid 65 for a terrible nail job that looked like crap the following day. read more
