We were not disappointed. We were seated promptly by our lovely hostess, and Shaun immediately came over to recite specials and to take our orders. He was attentive and we knew we were in good hands! We started with the Dr. Fox Cocktail: Angostura bitters, Bulleit Rye, Apple Liqueur, Dry Curacao, and Sweet Vermouth, which was perfect. It was accompanied by a hummus trio to spread on the bread. There was also a delicious foccacio. Next we were served a perfect salad, delicately dressed, and what made the salad so delightful was that the lettuce was torn into manageable pieces. A pet peeve of mine is large lettuce leaves that are difficult to wrangle, and this was not the case here. There were also tiny bits of cauliflower that gave the salad a nice texture and crunch.  I had the Stuffed Artichoke and my husband had Shrimp Gamberi on an Arugula salad. Both were substantial and beautifully seasoned. We had two glasses of an Argentine Tomero Malbec. It was a generous pour. For the main course, I had Polla al Limone (Lemon Chicken) over spinach. A simple dish done well. My husband had the Halibut special, a classic Mediterranean baked halibut with tomatoes, capers, and olives. So good that he finished it all...a rarity for him. (The halibut was pricey and it would be appreciated if the price was mentioned when the specials were gone over. Perhaps we should have asked.) We finished with a Sorbetto al Lampone, a tart raspberry sorbet in a dark chocolate shell and sliced.  And as we left, our sweet hostess brought over Lucianno, the most adorable puppy, to send us off with puppy kisses! We definitely will be back...especially for the wild boar ragu over pappadelles. One nitpicking observation. The entrance to the restaurant was a tad shabby. We mistook it for the service entrance. It needs to be spruced up to match the superb food inside!

But we looked around, and it seemed like to be the only viable Italian restaurant in the area so, if given under the same conditions, we would be back lol. Great wine list, great pizza, delicious entrees, great service and huge portions /good value for price point. The in house made "house" salad dressing is the bomb. It's a balsamic something. The cannolis are better than most anywhere and large. I've been on a cannoli kick over the last year or 2 and this was better than any, including from Italian bakeries that I've had recently. The wine list is expansive and at $11 a glass, with a great pour, is reasonable, as is the bottle prices. I've been many times for both eat in and pizza for take out AND attended a catered event here and they really get everything right all the time. See you there!

You could also tell that this is a popular local spot, since it seemed like the staff knew several of the guests personally. We ordered a medium Margherita pie and a Penne alla Vodka--both simple and safe choices. The pasta dish came with a side salad (choice of house or Caesar), which was perfect. Note: if you prefer a small amount of dressing, you may want to ask for it on the side. We did make that request, but unfortunately, the server seemed to have forgotten, and our salad came drenched. We didn't mention it, though, because we weren't that hungry and just ate what we could before moving on. That said, the pizza and penne were both excellent. The pizza had that great brick oven flavor, fresh mozzarella, and a robust tomato sauce. The Penne alla Vodka was also flavorful and nicely seasoned. If you're ever in the area and in the mood for Italian food, definitely check this place out.

Don't know how they got such an amazing whipped texture. I recommend making a reservation if you can. We then shared the flat iron steak, which was cooked perfectly. We also enjoyed a few glasses of a Tuscan blend, which was just the thing to complement our meal. All in all, it was the perfect Saturday date night dinner, in a cozy, romantic setting. We trudged through the snow, back to our hotel, happy and full. We'll definitely return.

Chilled Beets with Mint - Weird having with a hot meal but still so good. Butternut Squash Arancini -- A must try. You can taste a hint of butternut squash. It wasn't too overpowering. My pasta was hearty, flavorful, and generously loaded with fresh seafood. Every bite felt comforting and satisfying without being overly heavy. The Chicken Parm was tender inside and topped with a flavorful tomato sauce and perfectly melted cheese. It was classic Italian comfort food done very well. Despite already having enough leftover pasta to take back to the resort, I still could not pass up the mango gelato for dessert. It was absolutely delicious -- light, refreshing, and perfectly balanced in sweetness, making for a wonderful ending to the meal. The hospitality was superb. Tiffin, our server, was wonderful throughout the evening. She was gracious, engaging, and attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcomed with her warm smile and thoughtful service from start to finish. The restaurant ambiance is a traditional nice dark wood and brass trim environment. We decided to order their grilled Halibut special over potato gnocchi. Very Delicious. As for their service, that was the weak point of the meal. Our server was not very friendly and customer driven. When we noticed other tables being taken care of more professionally, an example was when we asked for some EVOO for our bread and the server brings us an oil/vinegar rack used for salads. Other tables were given their special EVOO garlic upgrade. Overall the food was prepared perfectly by their kitchen culinary staff. Thank you. They do need to work with this one server because she was not their shining star.
