Very good sushi, and I especially love the sushi/sashimi combination plates if you share. Their presentations are always phenomenal, which really sets them apart, especially for date nights. The location on South Broadway is great and lends itself to a nice post-meal stroll. I've been here several times and got the sushi boat as well as the sushi/sashimi combo, and both were great! The only con is that it can get pretty loud (maybe its weird acoustics?), which can hamper a romantic date night. Overall, I'd recommend it! read more

I recommend the spicy edamame and the calamari-- real thick pieces of squid not the stringy over fried kind. As for sake, too sweet for my taste. I showed the voucher to the waiter and he said oh you can use that next time you come .... um what? There was no explanation offered as to why I could not use the voucher. I was so confused by this. I also felt like it was a little rude. I don't live in the area so there is not a next time I could use the coupon... bummer :(. After that mishap, everything was great. First time here with my friends and family. Good food, service is was ok not professional. When you are getting complaints about anything. You needed to report to your supervisor right away. And your supervisor and you solve the problem right away. 1 thing you needed to be improved. Customers service: you have to inform the customers about everything before you charge. "Everything" I come here to eat sushi of course. You needed to provide every sauce to eat without getting charged. And even if you want to charge. It's customers choice to pay or not. Not your choice to desire for us. You charge $1 for 1 tbsp of ponzu sauce. And $1 for 2 tbsp of sera cha hot sauce. I know everyone have a hard time right now with a pandemic. All of your foods it's not cheap. And I don't minded. But to charge the sauce to dipping it. It's too much. It's really ridiculous !! I worked at sushi restaurant too. And most of Japanese restaurant here in Colorado or California. None of them charged for a sauce for sushi. I gave you 3 stars because you still have a good foods that all. Who needs to talk about sushi when there is tempura cheesecake. Who knew that was even a thing. But now I've seen it and tasted it, I can't get it out of my head. Fried cheesecake: best idea ever. The cold cheesecake, which I assume was refrigerated, inside the warm tempura made the cheesecake taste like a rich ice cream. The contrast of the crunchy fried texture and the soft creaminess was on point. Absolutely delicious. I guess I'll touch on the sushi. Their rolls are pretty basic. They really like to put spice in their rolls, a lot of them has spicy tuna and jalapeños. I, for one, am not into that much spice in my sushi. We got the sex on a beach and kamikaze rolls (which don't have spicy ingredients). They were good, nothing that stands out though. What Go Fish does well is presentation, though the fake cherry blossom is really only cool the first time around. The dishes are very instagrammable. UPDATE TO MY REVIEW: As you'll see below, I was a HUGE proponent of this place. It used to be really good. Went today, it's NOT the same. In fact, I'd discourage going here now, I'm truly sorry to say. Here's how this went down: We ordered six things: - Peach Sake: still good, but the guy brought the wrong one...because he wasn't paying attention - Chicken Yakisoba: this was incredible good, hence why my rating isn't lower. But you don't go to a sushi restaurant for cooked food. - Mango Tuna Roll: mango wasn't ripe and incredibly tough. The tuna was kinda not cold. - Salmon Nigiri: this was okay, but not as fresh as it used to be. Also not cold, which was slightly concerning. - Super White Tuna: weird texture, almost gritty. Not sure what was going on with the fish, but it was terrible...and super white is my favorite of all sushi. Mango Salmon Crisp: good, but not extraordinary. Anyway, it sucks that I need to look for a new sushi restaurant, because this was my go to until today. I've gone to A LOT of sushi restaurants and there are many that do great presentation work...but not this good. They carry Hana Saki as well. If you like Saki (I don't, actually), you may love this cold-served one. There are flavors such as peach that are oh-so good and pair great with sushi. Their desserts are pretty good. The tempura cheesecake is good, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. And, in all honesty, I'm usually way over full by the time desert time comes around anyway, so it's pretty irrelevant to me and I'm not really a dessert person anyway. I will say that it is a bit more pricy than other places, but it's worth it. Sometimes the old adage that you get what you pay for holds true. In this case, it most certainly does. read more

First time getting sushi in Denver and this place was a great choice. The workers were friendly, the place was clean, and the service was fast. My water glass was always refilled without having to ask. Every dish that was brought out to the tables was very creative and presented beautifully. Also, the menu has a wide selection of different rolls, as well has non sushi dishes. From the back left to right we got the zombie roll and cooked salmon mango roll. From the front left to right we got the green monster special roll, Spider-Man roll, and the fantasy roll. I definitely recommend coming here. Very good food and nice atmosphere right off Broadway. We came on a Saturday afternoon with a toddler and the staff were very accommodating to the child. All the sushi rolls were awesome, especially the Fancy roll. Come during happy hour (M-F 2pm-6pm or late night after 10pm on F & S) for cheaper specials that are super delicious. I enjoyed the experience greatly and would recommend this sushi place to friends. I can't pinpoint the names of the rolls I ordered, but they were all delicious. Pics arrached. As my marine psychologist friend would say . . . "This place has got f-issues." There might have been 2 other tables filled when we went in for lunch today, but after dropping off the menus, we didn't see our server for almost 10 minutes. Sir, it's lunch. Not happy hour. You drop off the menus. Get water and come back for the order. You may be staying there all day, but your customers have to get back to work. Ordered the sashimi plate and the sushi and sashimi plate. Same fish on both: albacore tuna, maguro, and "white tuna," along with salmon. What worries me the most is that when someone calls something "white tuna" they can either be referring to albacore tuna or escolar, which isn't tuna at all. My guess is that Go Fish's "white tuna" was escolar since it was a) super white, b) of a different consistency and taste than any tuna I've ever had, and c) looked and tasted nothing like what they said was the albacore. On coming back to the office, I was so interested in figuring it out I did a little research and found out that escolar actually has been banned in Japan as a sushi fish because of the laxative effect of escolar's wax esters. Hmmmm. I can hardly wait to see how the rest of the day turns out . . . so to speak. Aside from the issue of what fish we were served, the fish itself was just mediocre; not flavorful, and glistening, as it is in several of the better Denver sushi restaurants. A group of yelpers stopped by for the all you can eat sushi here and it was worth the trip for me. A big plus is the menu for the all you can eat is still big - it's hardly cut down from the regular menu at all, which I think is a rare find. They also allow you to have appetizers such as edamame and gyoza, soup, salad and dessert in the all you can eat option. Besides this they have very reasonably priced drinks and super friendly staff. You have a great happy hour, great staff (Brian is INCREDIBLE), you have check in deals on the weekend, how can I stay away from you?? We were looking for a cheapish place to grab sushi one night and searched Yelp the name Go Fish made us shy away but we ended up here when the other place we wanted to go to looked like a fast food joint (we didn't want our sushi that cheap). This was the night my serious addiction to Go Fish began. We had Brian (I have had him 2 other times since) and he took incredible care of us. Letting us try their infused sakes, making sure we always had enough, and best of all pacing our meal to our liking not anyone else's! Everything here is good from their edamame, to low carb rolls, sweet potato rolls, even their live scallops! Went back on Sunday for a friend's birthday and we all had an absolute blast! First and foremost, check in on YELP to get a free pineapple infused saki, which was AMAZING! Our whole table liked theirs. Go Fish is just fine. Not spectacular. Not a great value. Not incredible ambiance. Still, very pleasant. Keep in mind that I give three stars for getting what I expect. The fish was fresh and tasty, the atmosphere was nice, and service was good (even though our server knew squat about sushi, to the point of it being comical...). All in all, it was pretty decent. We ate at Go Fish using the Denver Dining Out passbook, which advertises a BOGO entrée deal, however we were told at the end of our meal (after we'd ordered and eaten 2 entrees) that the book was printed without their permission and the deal was actually a BOGO sushi roll. The waiter pointed out a ripped sign on the wall near the door which we didn't notice. I asked if we could have the equivalent of a roll discount, and he said no they wouldn't do that (which seemed unfair to me) and that we should contact the passbook company. This was hugely frustrating so I put it first in this review as a warning. All of that aside, the meal we had was quite delicious and our experience was positive. The service was thorough and attentive, giving us time to order drinks then our meal. We had a sushi bowl with 13 types of fish over rice - this wasn't the sort of thing we'd typically order but it was delicious! The fish variety was excellent and the rice was really well cooked. We also had the miso sea bass which was excellent. It was heavy on the miso and the fresh vegetables that came with it were perfectly cooked. I would have given 4-5 stars if not for the issue with the passbook. read more

It's modern and hip. There was only one server working but he sat us right away with a smile. We ordered 5 rolls and I highly recommend all of them. I didn't mind because it was much more quiet and personal. Our server, Chow, was great. He never forgot to check on us even though we were off to the side. ******Go Fish was already going to get a stellar review from me anyways but then Chow put the icing on the cake or cheesecake I should say. He brought us 2 pieces of fried cheesecake on the house and told my husband Happy Fathers Day. It doesn't get any better than this folks. Go Fish is located in a really cool and trendy part of Denver. Went here for a celebration lunch on Saturday and the ambiance was very casual and fun. The best part of Go Fish without a doubt was the presentation of the food. Everything was on beautiful playing surrounded by baskets and flowers! Definitely Instagram worthy. Our bill came to less than $30 which I was really happy about. The decor is fun and casual. It was SUPER loud in there and I couldn't tune out the girls who were sitting behind me screaming "FUCK!" every 5 fucking seconds. Anyway, the service was not all that. One guy took our drink orders, and brought the drinks, someone different took our order, someone different brought the sushi, and someone different cleared our table and brought the check. The sheer amount of positive reviews tells me the people here have never actually had real sushi. The restaurant is very loud, there are no noise reduction pads at all. We waited 40 minutes to get 6 rolls early in the evening when the restaurant was mostly empty. The prices for anything over your basic roll are ridiculous, $12-$20 is a ripoff for 6pc roll of anything. I had an all you can eat sushi restaurant in my home town that was $25 that had way better sushi and it would come out within 10 minutes, and that included 6pc sashimi in big hunks of fish. The plate we got featured a hot sauce that tasted something awful, like not food grade. The sushi itself was average, an eel roll was soaked in eel sauce to the point i could not taste the eel. The amount of salmon and tuna they put into a roll was more of a decoration than something i just paid $10 for. This must be why they call it go fish. read more

This is a pretty solid 4 star sushi place. I come here for lunch ever so often and sometimes I'm the only one here - which is odd because you can get a steal of a deal on a bento box for just $8. The staff is always super friendly and the guys working the sushi bar will even say goodbye when you get up to leave. They also have a decent happy hour with cheaper rolls and some discounted drinks.
