I have been coming to this restaurant for over 10 yrs. I always enjoyed their bento boxes, always fresh and delicious. I can't speak for their sushi because I'm not a big sushi eater but I do enjoy their California roll that comes with the bento box. I always sub for fried rice which is an extra $1 which is cheap IMO and I love how it has that smoky flavor, so yummy! I was afraid they might be out of business due to Covid but I'm so relieved that they survived! Their dining area wasn't open for awhile even post Covid, but I always got take out and food is still fresh and delicious! I've tried their chicken teriyaki, which is I believe chicken breast, it's perfectly cooked and not dry. I normally frequent this place. They had indoor dinning closed for all of 2020 and 2021 so I was excited when they opened back up this year. Today when I went in I was given dirty glasses for my water and my ginger ale. I ended up just drinking the ginger ale out of the can and telling the girl who worked there to take the glasses away. My shrimp shumai were cold had some weird black thing in the bottom of it so didn't end up finishing that either. My roll was also not that great which it usually is. The two kids they have working there (both are kids. I'd say high school at best) spent more time looking at something on their laptop than actually helping out. The service has definitely fallen since 2020. They don't even give you the warm towels for your hands or the fruit for dessert anymore. Not sure if I'll be returning. read more

They boast a large variety of sushi along with appetizers and have some of the best priced sushi I've seen yet. The restaurant is clean, tastefully decorated and there's plenty of parking outside (although I usually go during the week and have not visited during the weekends) My favorite dish to order is the 3- roll lunch special for $14.95 spicy crab, spicy shrimp and spicy tuna with no crunch. The food is delicious and it looks and tastes fresh - an essential quality when eating "any" food but especially anything raw. Hungry and craving sushi, I ended up here after a trip to Trader Joe's. The restaurant only had a few other parties seated, so we got to sit down right away. I ordered an assortment of sashimi and sushi, along with a bowl of miso soup. BF ordered pork katsu dinner. The waitress returned to the table afterwards to let us know they were out of pork. So he switched his order to chicken yakitori, which also came with a soup/salad. ,With so few other patrons in the restaurant, food took much longer than expected to come out. FOOD Salmon sashimi- this was good Tuna sashimi- this was okay (seemed like it had been frozen and could have defrosted/softened up a bit more) Yellowtail nigiri- the yellowtail was very good!- tasted fresh and melted in my mouth. The rice was a bit stale though and didn't seem like sushi rice Mackerel nigiri- I usually love this piece, but this was probably the driest piece of raw mackerel I've ever had. That plus the stale rice did not make for a good piece. Salmon & Avocado roll- this was fine Chicken yakitori- very underwhelming; didn't taste or resemble what you'd imagine for yakitori since there were no char marks and it seemed more like chunks of cooked chicken breast; the accompanying sauce was very plain and BF commented the rice seemed like a box of Uncle Ben's rice 3 stars because they have the best value dollar sushi menu I've seen, and although there were some fails, I did not get sick and did enjoy some of it. Prior to going to a movie, my girlfriend and I thought we would give this place a try. We had about an hour or so to kill and the theater was right down the road. The place was packed, good sign. There was one table available and no one was at the bar. We've always wanted to sit at a sushi bar and watch the magic firsthand...so, we were sat there. Big mistake. After sitting there for about 15 minutes with no one so much as laying an eye on us my girlfriend called someone over to hand us menus. The lady she stopped was very apologetic and got us menus and pre-packed warm towelettes ASAP. We thought, alright that's cool. We looked through the menu and decided we'd order A LOT of sushi. The prices were great and the things that most of the rolls were comprised of sounded amazing. We closed our menus as a signal that we were ready to order. 10 minutes go by. No service. 5 minutes go by. No service. So, we got up and left. I don't know why sitting at the bar made us invisible. I don't even know if getting a table would have been any different. But you have to go past us to get to the kitchen and get the food. The sushi chefs were right in front of us. I just don't understand. I always figured your experience at the bar rivaled that of sitting at a table. No one even noticed us leaving. Some employees weren't even doing anything. There were several sushi spots in the area when I searched on Google Maps, and this one had good ratings so I decided to stop by, and I'm glad I did! The sushi I ordered were super delicious! We came here because it had 4 stars on yelp. The decor inside was much better than we expected given the strip mall/dingy storefront. A very dim and softly lit restaurant, it would be a good place for dates if not for being able to hear the endless chatter of the other guests. And also, our booth was adjacent to a table with children, and they kept hammering their fists into the back of J's seats. But that's neither here nor there. We were both starving and ended up ordering a LOT of food. We had seaweed salad and edamame to start. The seaweed salad was a fairly small portion, and the edamame was rather unevenly salted. We also ordered a sushi/sashimi platter "A", which included 9 pieces of sashismi (salmon, tuna, yellowtail) and 4 pieces of nigiri and a eel avocado roll. The sashimi was very fresh and generous. The eel avocado roll was a perfect fatty mix of sweet and salty. At $17, this was my favorite item of the menu. We were still hungry after the platter and appetizers, so we took advantage of their roll special, 3 rolls + miso soup for $13. Again, we chose the eel avocado roll, as well as the crunchy salmon and spicy tuna roll. All were good, but fairly generic, to be expected for their price. In my opinion, good sushi depends mostly on one aspect: freshness/quality of fish and other ingredients. The food here is pretty fresh and servings generous, despite the low prices. Both the sashimi platter and the sushi roll special came with either miso soup or side salad, so we got one of each. The miso soup was fantastic--salty, savory, very umami-- but the salad was generic and iceberg lettucey. However, the service leaves something to be desired. The food took a very long time to come out, and there were simply not enough waitresses to handle the guests. Our entire meal took 1:15 minutes, and I had to get out of my seat to find someone to bring us our check. Our meal costed a total of $48 with tax and tip. While a good value for a sit down restaurant, for a similar price I think I'd rather go to the Minado for their sushi buffet! read more

Been coming to this place for years. Their prices are good especially their lunch special. You get a lot for what you pay for. Their lunch special starts at $7.50 and that comes with a soup and a salad. They also have a lunch special bento box for only $10. Place is always clean and staff is very friendly. I love their hot tea as well (roasted rice). Their rolls are ok, but then again I'm not a big fan of sushi. I always get their salmon teriyaki or the chicken maki bento box. The place is in a little strip mall across bowcraft. It doesn't look much on the outside, but as they say, "looks can be deceiving" and this place is a must try. Happy eating! :-) read more
