Service is great. They are always punctual to take your order, and food comes out quickly. Their paneer 555 dish is AMAZING!!! You have to get that as an appetizer. Their upma is good as well. Biryani (which is my husband's favorite) has been lacking the last couple times we were there. Not much chicken meat, and not very flavorful. We've tried multiple chicken curries, and those have been satisfactory. Nearly every time we ordered upma it was good, but the last time it was a bit dried out and chunky. The atmosphere is good, and the food overall is good despite some disparities in quality control. If they could be more consistent on quality of dishes, we would come more often. read more

I met my adult son there Tuesday for lunch at 1:30. This was our first time at Godivari and we were interested in their buffet. The food was excellent. Many of the items were spicy and all were delicious. The large buffet was arranged in an L shape with vegetarian foods first in the long strip of the L. I have only been here once and had the lunch buffet, they have a lunch buffet Monday-Friday starting @ 11:30, not sure about the weekend. Week day lunch buffet is $18 and it is a typical Indian fare. We have dined in as well and had their weekly afternoon buffet too. Wow! So far this is the best Indian food we've had in Colorado. I'm mainly here to review the lunch buffet since that's what we had. We went on a Friday so the buffet had lots of options though we heard there's even more on Saturdays and Sundays! Apparently the chef just decides what he wants to make so there are definitely some mainstays and also lots of rotating dishes. I think that's awesome. Honestly every dish we had we absolutely loved. Some were just not to our liking but that's more of a personal preference then it tasting bad. But that was like 1 or 2 items. The tandoori chicken was one of the better ones I've had Stateside. It was moist and flavorful. Lots of tandoori especially at buffets tend to dry out but not this one. Also, this is a Southern Indian restaurant so if you're looking for a more 'typical' Indian buffet with food that isn't even half as spicy as it should be then this is not the place for you. But what it is is authentic, actually spicy and super delicious. We also got the plain dosa which was huge and so good! Growing up in Malaysia that's what I had a lot of so it's nice to have it in a place here. Overall we enjoyed our experience and the service was very good too. read more

Godavari was awesome. I went with my sister and we had a great time. The food was buffet style and it was so good. The fruit custard... one of the best things I've ever eaten! So one of the items we ordered was Gobi Manchurian this item was off with soy sauce flavor dominating and big pieces were uncooked. The onion kulcha and garlic naan pieces were so small compared to other restaurants. In similar Indian restaurants, four pieces are equal to two pieces. The layered parotta was also small, just two pieces. We were not served rice as well. A particle was present in the chickoo shake. I was explained that it was just a seed. They took the drink when we showed them the particle and were not provided an alternate but charged for it. read more

My family and I have gone several times since their opening. Although busy, and therefore still figuring out kinks, their service has always been excellent. The employees are polite and thoughtful. The decor plays wonderful homage to South Indian styles while remaining contemporary and comfortable. And food is delicious!! They have unique items, drinks, and desserts you wouldn't find at other indian restaurants in denver. Indian Brunch Buffet - with an explosion of Indian restaurants in South Denver there are so many welcomed options. Godavari is a new addition with a quirky interior where you are welcomed by a Tata truck face and wait of an hour to be seated. Once seated you will patiently wait in a line to try over 30 different indian dishes. Most of which I can't recall but the few that stood out the most were the Mutton, Briyani and a shrimp dish. Here comes the odd part - the invention of a glove has done miracles for healthcare settings and infection control but the staff here have no concept of what gloves do. They have them on, touch their faces, shirts, put their gloved hands in their jeans pockets, touch pens and serve tables with the same gloves - The highlight is also the use of plastic utensils that one grabs at the bar ... not a bad thing but just odd. Overall decent food if you can get past the long wait, long lines to get food in the restaurant and the glove issue. read more
