Kerala. As "knowledgeable " as I thought that I was about the regional cuisines of India, I experienced some incredible new flavor profiles from the south last night at the Denver Godavari restaurant. Huge menu, almost too big/extensive. I could eat here for a year, trying a different dish every day. Are the standard Punjab/Mumbai north Indian restaurants fare seem one dimensional. I can see that a buffet is the way to sample and experience. Sad that the one in Houston closed. So I guess that I will need to look for Chetinnad restaurants when I get home. Some photos of the restaurant on a busy Friday night to follow.

While Godavari has been around for a while, it was new to me... and a delicous experience. Plenty of parking too! Sunday afternoons offer a $25 all you can eat vegetarian and non-veg menu with loads of choices of each. Labeled tags with descriptions allow for easy selections. This was a great way to try a little bit of everything. The food was tasty and not overly spicy. We tried the achars and pickles that were a great addition. Chai is part of the buffet too! I will say they heavily push the buffet, making it seem that ordering off the menu will take up to 45 minutes. However, we saw those who ordered from the menu get their food in half that time. Great ambiance, although a little hectic through the buffet!

Godavari Denver is simply an easy 5 star Indian buffet! They offer vegetarian and meat options. Service is amazing and staff are super friendly! There's so many dishes to try and everything was fresh and hot. I wish Godavari existed in Texas because man oh man the spicy and flavors of each dish was made like you had went to a family meal! Everything was different flavor profile and it's super authentic! Chicken, goat, paneer, veggies, different curries, different rices, briyani, and so much more! I really enjoyed my meal! This place was packed but we manage to be able to snag a table during rush hour. The thing that I find strange is that they were selling mango lasso drinks kept in a cooler refrigerator display and some other items you can purchase. I wish they would just have that part of the buffet. There seems to be a lot of them and people weren't buying those items because they already paid $$ for the buffet. Do I recommend this place? Yes! If you are in Denver you need to visit this place! Great value and great amount of food! It's a great way to try different authentic indian dishes! Must try and visit! When we are back in Denver we will definitely be returning!

The food is so delicious, but my favorite thing is the desserts. Their carrot halwa is one of the best I've ever had. They also offer ice cream. I looooove the ras malai flavor. Service is excellent as the staff are super kind and helpful. The decor is super cool and creative.

This is India Restaurant & really busy place on weekends, always serve good and tasty india spices that will make your toungue dancing. The inside restaurant is cute and full of decoration will add your appetite to eat more.

Avakai goat curry - so flavorful and fall off the bone meat! The heat was there but doesn't overwhelm the delicious flavor

The food here is incredible! Better than anywhere in my native Chicago area, Devon Street (little India). I mean it! We are spoiled to have such a wealth of South Indian food available in one place. The dosa was perfectly crispy and stuffed with a delicious fresh potato mix, and the variety of Sambal and chutneys served with it were thick, flavorful and fresh! We also ordered the Avakai goat curry, made with mango pickle, and it had the perfect level of heat with LOTS of flavor! The meat fell off the bone, and the sauce was delicious. I also ordered a savory yogurt buttermilk, and it had lots of flavor too, and is my go-to for eating spicy, flavorful curries. Finding a spot with so much variety, including all the dosas, tiffins, chaat, and their weekly specials on top of the creative drinks as well as an alcohol menu - WOW! The atmosphere inside is also a great ambiance and service was exceptionally friendly.

By far the best South Indian restaurant in Denver. If you are expecting a North Indian restaurant where the highlights are Chicken Tikka Masala and Chickpeas, this is not your place. If you are looking for food from the south of the subcontinent, this is your your restaurant. The dosa served here is right on par with what you get in India. They ask your crisp level, and if you choose crisp as I do, you will not be disappointed. The sambar served on the side is top notch as are all of the chutneys, including tomato and coconut. The serving is a bit much for one, and I will end up sharing in the future as I will be back. Now let us talk about the lunch buffet. $18 for weekdays, higher on weekends. The buffet does boast a variety of foods including dishes made from vegetables found in the southern region of India. The buffet is very vegetarian forward, with a small selection of meat and fish kept off to the side. The buffet does include dessert as well as tea/lemonade. Overall the food is very well done. I can handle spice, however this spice level was out of my league. I can usually do some damage at an all-you-can-eat buffet however I had to end my meal earlier than expected as my tongue could no longer tolerate the heat. The service is fantastic and the menu is very welcome in Denver.

Honestly, this is currently the best Indian restaurant I've tried in Denver. Staff is accommodating, food is great and the prices are decent. My first time trying their weekend buffet and my friends here rave about it and rightly so. Their buffet is so good - so many vegetarian options, multiple types of biryanis.. it just makes sense to come here for their buffet! The medu vadas in the buffet were as good my the ones from my favourite restaurant in Mumbai! Loved it. We had to head to the airport and the staff here was so accommodating and got us a table within minutes. I hope this place continues to maintain their food standards and prices and they will always have a crowd waiting to dine here!

What time is the weekend buffet served and how much?

The buffet is served when open for lunch at 12 on Sat and Sun. I'm not sure if they have buffet during dinner time. It's $25 for the weekend buffet.

The customer service was exceptional from the moment we walked through the door until the time we left. The staff was engaging, friendly, and genuinely excited to help us find flavors we'd enjoy. I especially appreciated being encouraged to sample sauces before committing to an order. I had never tried a wet Garlic Parmesan sauce before, and it was incredible. The wings remained perfectly crispy even after being tossed in the sauce, which is not always easy to achieve. The Volcanic Fries were another standout. The Volcanic sauce reminded me of Wingstop's Atomic sauce, but with a much better balance of heat and flavor. It delivered plenty of spice without sacrificing taste. Be sure to try the house-made Golden Ketchup. It has a subtle kick of heat while still getting ketchup notes. It's the perfect balance of spice and taste and pairs well with just about everything on the menu. The atmosphere was casual and inviting, with plenty of table seating, bar seating, and multiple TVs throughout the restaurant showing a variety of live sports. I cannot emphasize enough how outstanding the customer service was. Great food is easy to find, but a staff that genuinely enhances the entire dining experience is much harder to come by. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in town.

Importantly, he owned some gaps they identified and was seeking to understand where they could do better. I went back yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. (Beau Jo's comes to mind which I still give a 5 star.) But this 5 store chain must've had a weak start. I am giving GQue a 2 star because of the portions and the staff. Otherwise, it should get a 1 star. We shared the pulled pork sandwich, a few slices of brisket and the pork ribs. The portions were good and the meat looked and, at first, tasted good. But, as we progressed through the meal, there was something that wasn't quite right. At first, there was an issue with the pulled pork sandwich. Then there was something else strange about the meat, which I believed was the brisket it didn't hit at first, but then the strangeness built from below. (I was jumping between dishes as I ate so it was hard to tell.) The pulled pork was good until I bit into some mushy part of the shoulder, which can happen from time to time when you don't get a good cut of meat. My enjoyment diminished further when we were about to leave. Instead of having a good taste in my mouth, the kind you get when you've had an excellent meal, I was left with a bad taste. Even as I sit here writing this review, I feel a sawdusty texture in my mouth along with a flavor that is not desirable. I have never quite experienced anything like it I cannot recommend GCue BBQ.

The burger was $18 and honestly just average. Nothing about it justified the price. They advertise a "Baja sauce" as part of the burger, but when it came out there was barely any on it. I asked for more and got charged $0.50 for it. Same thing with ranch for the fries (not house-made), still charged extra, and they didn't even bring it out with the food after I asked for it when ordering. I had to remind them, and there was no apology, just a drop-off like it was no big deal. The fries portion was light, and overall the food just felt like corners were being cut while still charging full price. Soggy fries. Dried out burger. Service was inattentive across the board. When I asked for my last drink and the check, they forgot the check entirely. I sat there another 15 minutes waiting until I had to flag someone down again. That shouldn't happen, especially when it wasn't busy enough to justify it. The environment didn't help either. It's loud in a chaotic way, not just energetic sports bar loud, but TVs everywhere, kids running around, babies crying. On top of that, people were smoking right outside the entrance, so you walk straight through that to get in. One of the more frustrating parts: the metal chairs at the high tops scratched my $250 Patagonia jacket. Then to top it off, the blue pen they gave me to sign the check leaked ink all over my hand, which got on my jacket and car afterward. That's just careless. Only positives were that the beer and whiskey prices were reasonable, and the drinks themselves were fine. However, I took a risk with places like this because most likely they haven't cleaned their beer lines in years. Overall, this felt like a place that charges like it's better than it is, but cuts corners on both food and service. I won't be back. Not worth the $50+
