This is genuinely one of the best KBBQ spots I've ever been to. I've tried a lot of AYCE KBBQ, and Gogi Nori really impressed me with both the quality and the variety. GET THE TOP TIER OPTION. The lobster tails were probably one of my favorite things we ordered. They were such a good addition to the BBQ and tasted incredibly fresh. The premium meat selection was also amazing, especially the wagyu and the different prime cuts. The meat quality here is noticeably better than a lot of other AYCE KBBQ spots I've been to. And the sushi selection is seriously impressive. There are so many options, including premium sushi, specialty rolls, nigiri, and sashimi-style dishes. I honestly wasn't expecting the sushi to be this good at a KBBQ restaurant, but we kept ordering more. The ramen bar was another fun addition, and there are so many other sides and appetizers that you could easily spend the entire meal trying different things. We literally did not want to stop eating. We were beyond full and still kept ordering because everything was so good. At some point we basically had to force ourselves to stop before we made ourselves sick. If you love KBBQ and want somewhere that gives you way more than just meat, this is absolutely worth trying. The combination of the premium BBQ, lobster tails, sushi, and ramen makes this one of my new favorites in Irvine.

This place is a marked improvement from its predecessor, 7 Japanese BBQ, which to be honest was terrible. This time around the new restaurant, Gogi Nori can be classified as a respectable establishment that can pull its own weight. This place has good grills and ventilation, which was not the case with its predecessor. And unlike its predecessor this place actually has good meat and sushi. Shocking. The lunch special (Monday to Thursday) was solid for the meats and sushi you get for the price you pay (around $45 after tax and tip). There is a ramen bar as well as a simple coffee bar. The ice cream dessert is a nice touch as well. Service was great. The ordering system is ok but the sushi limitation is pretty annoying (you'll see what I'm talking about when you order). There is plenty of seating and plenty of parking. Clean restaurant. Not too many people whenever I went for a weekday lunch, but that's unsurprising. Would definitely come back!

A big improvement from the old spot when it was the 7 japanese bbq. Goginori I can say is a solid spot, especially for the lunch special, which in total came out to be around $44 after tip and tax. Not bad considering an ayce kbbq and sushi. The meats are pretty good and the quality was great. What really surprised me was the quality of the sushi. We definitely got our fill of salmon nigiri. The service was also terrific and they came by with our ordered foods super quick. My only issue really is that you can only order up to 5 items max at a time and then there's a timeout period. This includes sushi, which comes in 1 piece at a time. So if you order 5 nigiris, you would have to wait for a bit to order again. A little annoying but I guess its to prevent over-ordering. We were here on a weekday and it was completely dead. Like other than one other table, we were the only ones there. Hopefully it's more lively for dinner and weekends. I'll be sure to come back if more friends are down to eat some ayce.

Was kind of disappointed in my second visit to Goginori. We had to flag a server down to help us key in the passcode to order food. The food portions were significantly smaller as well. The same tuna dish I was so excited to get from last time, was very tiny. There was not enough fish proportional to the chips. They also had someone filming for social media, while we were cooking and eating which was kind of uncomfortable for a meal. Just a bit disappointing, given how great of an experience we had previously.

I was pleasantly surprised by Goginori! We made a dinner reservation for 7:00 PM and were seated within 5 minutes. I absolutely love that an all-you-can-eat (AYCE) restaurant offers reservations...honestly, being able to book ahead is an instant selling point for me. As someone who has been to practically every AYCE spot in Orange County, I had to see if this viral social media favorite lived up to the hype. We opted for the Premium Menu ($57.99), which includes both KBBQ and sushi. It features an incredibly efficient ordering system: Banchans are already on the table when you sit down, and you order everything directly from your mobile device. You can submit an order for up to 5 meats, 5 sushis, and 5 appetizers/sides every 5 minutes. The food comes out amazingly fast compared to other AYCE spots. 01. Sashimi Orders (Tuna, Salmon & Yellowtail) - 4 Stars - We were blown away by how fresh and high-quality the sashimi was. We were incredibly impressed right off the bat. 02. Bluefin Sushi (2 pp) - 5 Stars - WOW. We couldn't believe they offer bluefin on an AYCE menu. It had a beautiful, buttery richness that melted instantly and tasted exceptionally clean. We loved it so much that we maxed out the ordering limit (which I believe was 5 orders). It tasted remarkably like an Otoro cut...absolutely a must-order item. 03. KBBQ Meats - 4-5 Stars - The meat quality here is genuinely good, though it comes down to personal preference. Our server recommended their favorite cuts, and every single one was a winner. 04. Appetizers/Sides - 3-4 Stars - The Kimchi Fried Rice was a standout 4-star dish. The rest of the sides were a solid 3 stars: the fried chicken with powdered sugar was just okay, the steamed egg was decent, and the shrimp tempura and corn cheese were standard. The Spicy Tofu Soup was a bit bland on its own, but if you drop some brisket into the broth, it immediately upgrades the flavor. 05. Banchans 3 Stars - The side dishes were the only real letdown. The offerings looked a bit sad, and the cucumber and potato salads weren't very appetizing. We actually had to sprinkle some salt and pepper onto the potato salad just to give it some life. Don't get too excited for the banchan spread. LOCATION/PARKING - The restaurant took over the old Islands Restaurant. There are plenty of parking spots in the lot, though it can occasionally get tight if there's any protests on the corner of Culver. CUSTOMER SERVICE - Incredible service. Every single server was helpful, super friendly, and hyper-attentive. They always seemed to be a step ahead of what we needed. BONUS - They have a self-serve Ramyun bar as well as a tea and coffee station (the black coffee was actually good). To top it all off, they bring out a small cup of Thrifty's ice cream at the end of the meal. They only had vanilla the night we visited, but I hear they rotate in strawberry, matcha, and chocolate. VERDICT - Between the high-quality sushi cuts, the great meats, and the stellar customer service, we were thoroughly impressed and will absolutely be back. It's a fantastic new addition to the Irvine KBBQ scene!

Stopped by after the gym & this place was so good. I did the supreme sushi & kbbq. All the meats were tender, my favorite was the marinated rib finger I got a bunch of sides with my favorite being the kimchi fried rice. I also did some sashimi, nigiri and the lobster tail roll. I got so full I didnt have any room for the Ramen bar But overall I left happy, this place was good, service was great and food was good. Definitely a place id come back to .

Don't walk, run here! They opened only 3 months ago? Why aren't they packed for a Friday evening yet? The price for the premium menu was $58/pp and is a bit of a sticker shocker, but it was a great yourself for a hard work week kind of night -- and totally worth it! They have an overwhelming extensive menu of offerings from KBBQ to sushi to a DIY ramen station and hot chocolate and coffee station. They have a lot of options for appetizers, such as japchae, korean fried chicken, tofu soup, egg soup, rice, gyoza, etc. You order everything through the QR code and get to select up to 5 items per category and submit your order every 5 minutes. We didn't know at first and submitted one order of 5 items only, so had to wait a little bit until we can submit another. Don't worry though, because the 90 minute rule was still plenty of time for us. The sushi was actually really good and IMO, was fresher and better cuts than some other ayce places that serve sushi, and that says a lot coming from a sushi connoisseur. Their meats were pretty tasty as well. Only 1 plate was a bit too cartilage to our liking, but we will opt out of getting that again. The ban chan, salad and mixed veggies helped balance out too much protein for us. We didn't have room to visit the ramen bar or get hot chocolate or coffee, but will be sure to try it out in a future visit. We were also offered cookies and creme and vanilla ice cream at the end to enjoy. Tip: The servers also help change out your grill constantly, so you don't have overly burnt food. This was a huge plus to us! The restaurant is a bit hard to find, but just look for Mimi's and they're in the same lot. They probably need to upgrade to a bigger and brighter eye catching sign if they don't already plan to do so.

This was our first time trying this place, and the sushi was especially good. The sashimi was super fresh, too. The wagyu beef was incredible, though the short ribs were just okay. I'd strongly recommend trying their blue crab and lobster. The raw lobster is really good, and you can tell the blue crab is the real deal. Our server, Ishua, was exceptionally nice and provided top-notch service. That might have had something to do with the place not being very busy when we came, but he took the time to patiently walk us through the menu. Overall, between the service and the food, it definitely lives up to the price.

I was looking for something delicious after my graduation ended around 3 PM on a Saturday. Let me tell you, I was STARVING & I'm so glad I found this spot. We were welcomed with smiles, seated, and served instantly! It was my first time here so I tried the Premium Tier - which is amazing and includes both sushi + a variety of their Korean barbecue meats!! Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. Some of my personal favorites were the beef tongue, short rib finger, salmon + yellowtail carpaccio, and the salmon ponzu nigiri! Our server T - was so sweet, welcoming, and did everything to ensure that my graduation lunch was amazing! He always made sure we were tended to! We appreciate you PS - the cute claw machines are a must when you're done with your meal or waiting to be seated!

Gogi Nori is a new AYCE KBBQ and sushi restaurant that opened in Irvine. Its selling point is that you can eat both KBBQ and sushi and don't need to settle for just one or the other. We made reservations on Yelp but you can also put your name on the waitlist. They have two options: premium ($57.99) and supreme ($74.99). We got the former which included a good variety of meat, sushi, and appetizer options. They also have a ramen bar where you can make instant ramen but we stuck with the KBBQ and sushi. There is a 90 minute time limit where you can order 10 items per order. You have a 4 minute gap between orders when you can order again. We used our phone to pick our food and it came out pretty quickly for us. Out of all the KBBQ options my favorites were the LA galbi, beef bulgogi, and wagyu ribeye. Out of all the sushi options my favorites were the yuzu yellowtail, crispy rice spicy tuna, and eel. Even though you can get the best of both worlds, it did feel a little weird eating salty hot meat followed by the more subtle cold fish. One thing I liked to do was to eat the sushi while the meat was cooking to give myself a break. The supreme option had things like lobster tail and blue crab but the premium option was sufficient for our needs. Neither stood out but if you're looking for both (like we were), this place is a good option and the staff were friendly.

I came here for the first time with a group for a celebration and honestly, it was SOY good :) The staff were super nice and kept checking on us, which was great. Ordering through the QR code was also really easy. You can order six items at a time, but it was not a big deal because we just kept ordering more. The manager came over and explained some of the special KBBQ and sushi options, which was really helpful bc we were noobs (first timers). Everything tasted fresh and high quality. My favs were the lobster sushi roll, the toro, and the premium meats from the SUPREME Tier. The lobster roll was seriously the ROLL MODEL (get it?) and the meats were a total GRILL COME TRUE :) We are definitely coming back and I recommend going during lunch bc it is less crowded and way more chill. I have not tried dinner yet, but with the food quality and prices, I am guessing it gets packed.

It's always interesting to me that this location went from being an island burger to a Korean Bbq joint then to a new Korean Bbq joint! With that said, me and my cousin decided to finally check this place out! We went on a Sunday around 2pm and was sat immediately. Definitely call ahead to accommodate parties over 8 but this place has a huge setting and will definitely work with you. Onder prepared our table and we explained to him it was our first time here and he was probably one of the best waiters I've had in a long while. He explained everything that was different between the two tier system they have here and also showed us the ramen bar and how that worked. Thanks Onder! You were awesome. The top tier menu price is 74.99 while the premium menu price is 57.99 and all were very fair prices considering all they offered. I mean all you can eat sushi and kbbq what more can you ask for?! We opted to go with the premium. You order through your phone, 5 options at a time for both the sushi and kbbq. First came out the beef tongue, beef belly, pork jowl, and ribeye. All were delicious especially the beef tongue here! The sushi order consisted of their seared items which were all awesome as well. Everything we pretty much ordered here was delicious and I had nothing to complain about. Onder made the experience even better by letting us know that they had ice cream in the end. AWESOME! Overall, I'm glad this place is still an ayce Kbbq sushi spot. The price we paid for is definitely worth it especially all the delicious meats and sushi you are able to get here. Service is top tier and arguably had one of my favorite waiters ever during my restaurant experiences. Definitely get your sushi and kbbq fix here if you have the money for it!

Our first time here with hubby and our sis and our bro. Enjoyed it! Love it, everything so delicious. Our main waiter Johnoson great service, well all the waiters were all great too and Ondre also awesome and he is in one of the pictures. Had to ask for permission before I even post anyone in any pics on any public media. The ambiance is great too. Also to mention I also look for this and not always mention it on any post, bathroom in the women is good, no sewage smell etc and clean. Please everyone is a Must try, absolutely. We will be back definitely by our selves, with families and friends to enjoy.

I've been trying to get here for a while and finally had the chance, so I made a reservation directly through the restaurant's Yelp page and even received a confirmation. We showed up excited... only to find out they're closed on Mondays. You can imagine the disappointment on my family's faces--and yeah, I was pretty embarrassed, thinking I had messed something up. But I didn't. If a restaurant is closed on certain days, their reservation system shouldn't allow bookings or send confirmations for those days. We never even made it inside, so I can't comment on the food--but this was a frustrating first impression and something they really need to fix.

(We will be ordering ahead next time) Took Dad for Father's day and ended up having a nice long chat in line before the main event. I highly recommend getting around 1/2 lb of pretty much all of their main items. Every single item had a very cool and very interesting flavor! Everything was high quality but some items stood out among the rest. Mac and cheese--fantastic, loved it! Banana pudding was probably one of the best if not THE best I have had. The pulled pork was decent, but nothing too special, the rolls... I really should have grabbed about 46 of them to be commensurate with the meat consumption: note to self to smuggle a baguette and some mixed greens in to balance the meal next time! The chicken had an incredible flavor with the perfect amount of spice and sauce to complement the juicy interior. Brisket was excellent as expected, and the sausage had all kinds of unique and interesting notes in there--almost too much to identify but I was loving every bite. Finally the dark horse was the char siu marinated brisket--the clear winner, even for my father who is a die hard barbecue fan of the "classics". Truly mouth watering and marinated to perfection. I MUST know how they do it because wow I have been dreaming of it ever since we left.

Oh the timing. Just when I finally get this written out to post, it turns out that Frank's BBQ &…read moreNoodles has come and gone. Not that I can say I'm all that surprised in hindsight, but it's still kind of a shame. Mostly because I just wish the food had been better, but also because, despite how impressive the OC food scene is, I hadn't come across any BBQ joints/Cantonese restaurants that SF has so many of until randomly stumbling across this place! Then again, maybe I've just been too distracted by the many Taiwanese options that the Bay Area is so criminally short on... Compared to some of the Chinese BBQ joints that I frequent in the Bay Area, this place felt so much newer and a whole lot cleaner/nicer. That said, while the menu appeared to be a whole lot narrower, they still had a decent selection of offerings to choose from. Along with their nearly twenty different sides/snack dishes, which include items like pig ears with chili sauce, cucumber salad, chicken wings, wontons in chili oil, and tofu skin salad, they also had BBQ meats, like Roasted Duck, Soy Sauce Chicken, and Char Siu, a mix of rice and noodle dishes, and combination plates of their BBQ meats over rice or noodles. Sadly, though, no crispy skin roast pork, which was a huge bummer. -- SWEET FRIED CORN Admittedly, this initially didn't catch my eye, but I'm glad we ended up trying it. Every piece was crispy and I liked how sweet and flavorful the corn was. Plus, it was how this wasn't all that oily, though, I wouldn't have minded a bit more batter for some added crunch. -- WONTONS IN CHILI OIL Not too shabby. Although the skins felt a little overcooked, each piece was fairly plump and I thought the filling was pretty tasty. It was also unexpected to see a bit of broth with the chili oil, but it had a nice flavor to it and just the right amount of spice. -- TWO BBQ ITEM RICE PLATE with Char Siu and Roasted Duck I was the most excited for this, but it left me feeling conflicted. On the plus side, the bowl had a fair amount of both meats and the duck was really good - really juicy and the skin was golden brown. On the other hand, the char siu was super fatty and the rice was mushy. -- DICED GROUND PORK ON RICE...$13.99 More solid than spectacular, but still satisfying enough. Like with the BBQ plate, the meat to rice ratio favored the former and I thought the egg and the veggies complemented this well. At the same time, I wish this had more sauce to it, as the pork look a little dry/pale. In addition to how convenient it was to come here (there was a steady crowd, but it never got packed inside), I appreciated how fast our food came out. Also, I'm not sure if we just got lucky, but it wasn't nearly as hard to find a space in the complex's parking lot as it seemed it would be. Between all of that, the food being decent, and the relatively friendly service, Frank's BBQ & Noodles wasn't bad for some Chinese BBQ. However, it definitely could've been better, especially if Roast Pork had been one of their offerings!

I feel like a yelper that's been living under rocks. Can't believe I never heard of this place…read moreuntil I recently saw my fellow yelper Van D's review. This is western BBQ with an Asian flair. I think the flavor is better and slightly less heavy than a traditional American BBQ. Everything was so packed with flavor, can't really pick a favorite among so many great proteins. Smoked Brisket was melt-in-your-mouth tender with a nice smokey taste. Green Curry Sausage was definitely unique with a really nice Thai infused flavors. Was slightly spicy with strong green curry and lemongrass flavors. Canton Bowl, which comes with smoked pork belly char siu, siu yuk (pork belly with super crispy skin), and coconut rice, was excellent as well. The siu yuk was really good with super crispy/crunchy skin. House-made BBQ sauces were quite good. I really like the gochujang bbq sauce. It has decent amount of heat with a sweet & spicy taste. The regular house BBQ sauce has a tangy, sweet taste with a very subtle heat. It's located at Cottage Industries. Not exactly sure what to call it. It's somewhat like a small community of restaurants and shops with a garden and a play area for kids. Parking is very limited so will most likely need to park on the streets along residential area. Service is minimal. You order at the counter and they give you a buzzer to let you know when the food is ready. Seating is only available outside in the covered patio area but you can also pick any of the community tables and chairs within Cottage Industries.

The staff were friendly and the food came out pretty quickly. The food was OK, I was pretty excited to try BBQ with an Asian Panache. I got the bowl that came with one out of four choices of meats, to which I chose brisket. Cornbread with butter, coleslaw, and a side of rice. Unfortunately, the brisket was a bit disappointing because it wasn't tender and pretty dry. It tasted pretty good and paired with their gochujang bbq sauce made it taste better. I also asked for a leaner cut of meat but my meat were really fatty. I liked the cornbread and their butter was really good! The coleslaw was ok and the rice was dry with pork bits.
