the Best Pastrami in town. Small establishment with very little seating area. Cute shop though. Customer service is amazing. They have 2 sizes in the pastrami bahn mi. I got the 1/2 lb. The one lb is ginormous. They make it right in front of you. I would add fresh jalapeño because they offer it on the side. The garlic butter is really unnecessary, it does not come through with the rest of the ingredients. I opted out of the Pâté also. Seems like overkill. The sandwich is a masterpiece. Parking is easy. The staff seemed unmotivated--there was a lot of standing around and watching instead of actually helping customers, which made it feel like they didn't really care. Watching the pastrami being sliced with the grain instead of against it was frustrating and honestly a red flag. I even stepped out of line because I had a feeling it would turn out chewy--and it did. The flavor itself was good, but the texture really took away from the experience. On top of that, the wait time was unreasonable. With only a handful of menu items and just a few people ahead of us, it shouldn't take 35 minutes to get a sandwich. Small wait not to bad , order the pastrami sandwich the bread is baked fresh on site the color the crunch of the bread is perfection!! The flavors are fresh tasty and inviting all the flavors complementing one another in every bite. Sooooo yummy the staff was nice busy and still learning be patient the food is worth it. Many comments here are calling out the speed of service, months in we should probably invest in training the team outside of operating hours because it took 40 min to get my sandwich with only 3 sandwiches ahead of me. At this point we're choosing to continue struggling. With that being said the pastrami was super fire, soft and full of flavor, I wish it was cut better because it was chopped super fine which takes away from allowing you to really enjoy the meat (pause). Would I return for a $30 sandwich with a full pound of pastrami? With quicker service and better trimming of the pastrami, for sure. The toppings really make the pastrami pop but the total execution leaves a lot to be desired. read more

Amazing!!! Went for their soft opening limited menu that they were serving. We had the 1lb pastrami Banh mi with extra mayo and pate of course and it was better than I imagined. Some places don't live up to the expectations but they definitely did it right. The bread was just right I love eating Banh mi but let's be real it usually cuts the top of gums and the sides because the bread is usually really crispy, but theirs was just right crispy but not over hard, pastrami meat was tenderism comes with some kind of aju sauce on the side overall 10/10 for the sandwich. We also got the spring roll crispy pork belly and bbq pork pretty standard. Service was prompt took awhile for the food but you see them make it right in front of you and the kids were still training so understandable. I am absolutely crazy about the pastrami banh mi! The bread is made in-house, the pastrami comes thick cut, and you can taste all the quality ingredients in each bite. I pray that this sandwich never ever goes away. It also comes with a side of au jus dip! The price is also amazing! The service is also great and I love the ambience and cleanliness of the restaurant. If they keep the sandwich, I will be a forever customer. Oh, and their tease and lattes are top-tier as well. They actually use real banana in their banana Matcha, unlike other spots where they use a powder banana mix for their matchas. Ordered the pastrami 1 lb banh mi, the basic banh mi, hong kong milk tea, and strawberry matcha. Their drinks still taste the same before and after the soft opening. I like the taste of the hong kong milk tea. Strawberry matcha is good flavor, not for dark matcha people but I would still order their drink. Wait time was fine, the line moved and understandably the staff were still in training. They were very nice and communicated well. They let me try one of their sauces. For the banh mi, the pastrami I would prefer to be cut in slices rather than with cubes, as well as more sauce with it (like smt more acidic). The cold deli meats I would prefer less cha lua, and more of the other cold meats (it would also provide more bite), and more greens (more cucumber and cilantro). Char siu is not really part of a traditional basic banh mi (banh mi thit nguoi in this case). The place is more of a meat place, and you can see that the pastrami is cooked well as well and the other meats tasted good by themselves. The pastrami juices that seep into the bread makes the bite phenomenal, but there needs to be more sauce and greens to keep the sandwich interesting rather than all meat every single time you take a bite (even with the basic one). For this, I recommend meats and other toppings on different sides of the banh mi for better contrast, and to not be afraid to use sauce. Smother me in sauce and pate. The more cholesterol the better the banh mi. (The most popular banh mi place in hcmc makes me feel like I'm eating all fat and it is still good.) The pickled carrot and daikon also taste good. The toppings and sauce are what carry the banh mi sometimes because cold meats don't provide as much flavor. I like cilantro so next time if I go I'm going to get extra cilantro. Size of the banh mi is good. Overall, I would let other friends try the pastrami, but I would not go again for banh mi. Good as hype, not good in the long run. I like the ideas they have though, keep going, I hope this place does well. read more

Then decided to come back today for good food only to be disappointed by the two rude women in the front. The monsters inc hat girl and the "manager" who when was complained to about the service shrugged it off. This place is very disorganized, very unwelcoming and very disappointing. To be talked to as a customer by a worker with immense attitude was just uncalled for very unexpected. Honestly it made me want to ask for a refund right there and then. I needed a little sour so I added sauerkraut when I got home . Very tasty smoked meat with veggies , sauces ,and spreads ! I definitely plan to return. Holy smokes, the Pastrami Banh Mi from Gold Banh is incredible. To start, the pastrami itself is bangin'! Smoky, juicy, flavorful, not crazy salty like some places...just so good. The baguette is fresh and soft, just the right amount of paté, the pickles and cilantro brighten it right up! I'm so sorry I didn't take a photo, I gobbled this down too quickly. I was lucky enough to snag the last 1/2 lbs pastrami banh mi today (before the last one was finished in about 30 minutes), can't wait to come back to try their other flavors of banh mi!
