They always do a good job and they work very hard. It is a little expensive though, especially for an SUV.

Located within the city, this car wash has already become my favorite. I always wash my truck myself except in the winter. I've been here twice and they have done an excellent job both times. The only issue is the wait time to get inside - you have to wait in your parked car on the street. Nevertheless, their rates are reasonable and they usually take 10-15 min to wash my truck. I pulled up today at about 6:58pm for the workers inside to tell me they're not taking any more cars and that the last car they take is at 7pm. I'm not sure why the hours of service says open until 7:30pm if they're going to turn people away before then. Their hour is so wrong. On Apple map it says they close at 7:30 and here it says they close at 8. I got there at a little before 7 and they told me they are no longer accepting new customers. I understand if they want to have everyone leave by 7:30 but then please change your business hour to close at 7:00 so people won't drive all the way here for nothing. read more

This was an interesting experience indeed, but they got the job done. I was sort of trapped into getting my car washed. It was my first time visiting Gold Coast Car Wash and when I drove up to the garage door it didn't open. At first I thought they were closed but I saw people who looked liked customers so I waited in my car but then decided to get out to check if they were, in fact, open. But right after I got out of the car the garage door opened as if I had activated a sensor. And when I looked I saw an attendant who motioned for me to drive in. Instead of getting back into my car to drive in I walked to the attendant and asked about the pricing. Being unsure I told him I needed to think about it and come back. However, by the time I got back to my car there were three cars waiting in the street behind me to drive into the car wash service. Then a woman from one of the cars yelled at another car to say she was next in line after me. At that point, seeing how things might get escalated, I decided to pull into the establishment and get my car washed after all. I paid $22.00 for the exterior. The attendant doubles as the cashier in the lobby being both places at once. For the cars behind me I noticed some people stayed in the car while it was being washed. I waited in the lobby area and kept an eye on my car to see what they were doing. They basically sprayed my car with water or some water solution and dried it with hand towels. Overall I'd come back again now knowing what to expect. Like any establishment that you visit for the first time I was looking for a little more hand holding but it became easy to figure out how things worked without it. I talked to another customer who said she's been coming there for 20 years and it's the closest place in downtown Chicago to get a good car wash. I noticed there were a lot of luxury vehicles in line. She was driving a Range Rover, but another customer was in a Ford Focus and a Toyota Camry was in front of me. read more

While sitting in the waiting area waiting for my car to be washed, a man walked in and demanded that the staff move up the "Aston Martin and make the rest of them wait!" The staff followed his orders. When the staff returned, I asked if the man was the owner and they said he is the lawyer of the owners. The way he demanded that the Aston Martin be moved ahead and make the others wait was so condescending and supercilious... it turned me off. Besides, I've always thought this car was was just "ok." My husband has a Maserati and an Aston Martin. My car is a Mercedes convertible. We will go back to our usual place at "River North Hand Wash and Detailing" located on North Ave/Elston... just east of 90/94 entrance/exit. They're the best! I go to this car was on a regular basis. I am always satisfied with the service I receive. The Orleans Street location is very convenient to Gold Coast, Old Town and River North neighbors. It's also spacious, that can accommodate several cars at once. The guys working are always polite and helpful. They are professional and friendly. The staff greets me nicely and bid me a nice farewell. When finished, I always leave with a super clean car. They dry my car really well, which is important. Water spots ruin a great wash. read more

First time here, the staff was impressive with the quick service and attention to detail. It was neat the way they do two to three cars at the same time while using rain shower hoses. The love cation is very convenient and easy to get to. I like that they have a computer bar by the big window so you can google and keep an eye o your car too. Plus they have free wifi. The only thing that could of been better, was if the attendant at the cash register would of been more receptive. He was not friendly or welcoming at all and had that vive that he just did not wanted to be there. I just took my car in to get washed. There was bird poop/tree sap on the hood of my car. One or multiple of the employees used some sort of scraper/tool that was harder than the paint/clear coat. The hood of my car now has really bad scratches into the base paint coat, and there are now areas of exposed metal where they scraped. DO NOT EVER GO HERE. Spent $170 on detailing only for them to not even bother vacuuming or cleaning literally anything... Picked it up after an hour and a half and there were still crumbs all over the carpet, spots on the windshield, and dirt in ALL the cracks and crevices. Didn't even pick up the floor mats to vacuum, even though they claim to shampoo them. I drove all the way back and waited Another hour for them to actually clean it, which they did alright with my supervision. Claimed it was done again but I still had to call out more spots for them to get. A+++!!! Seriously, these guys exceeded my expectations. My vehicle had incurred extensive stains from a pipe that burst in my parking garage. Grease was all over the car and it would have taken me the better part of an entire day to get it off myself with a clay bar. Instead, I chose to bring my car to Gold Coast on the recommendation of our building manager. I'm sure glad I did. In under four hours, their crew not only removed all the staining from the body and glass, but they straight-up made my car look better than new. I'm talkin' magazine-ad-quality prep. They buffed my car to a high-mirror shine so much that it would make Andy Dufresne's shoes in Shawshank Redemption insanely jealous. Interior, rims, and tires all looked totally top drawer, as well. Check the photos. No wonder the place had three Lambos on site along with other high-end brand cars like my Benz. You get what you pay for, and I'll be back for sure. Nice location. First time in they where 7 to 8 cars deep. For an inside and out wash on our SUV was 28.00 for a hand washing. Normally used to drive thru car washes. The price is within reason. Not sure how to compare with the rest of Chicago. Our greater was not to talkative. He took our order with little upsell except for an under spray for 5.00 more. They have an internet cafe area with 3 computers available to use. They offer free Expresso drinks and taxi teas. Great touch. Overall our washer did a good job on the exterior and interior. This place is under new management and they raised the prices by A LOT! I just paid $50 to have my car washed and they didn't even do the interior like I asked! Not only that, they sprayed the interior and did not even wipe it off. There was still bird droppings which were not cleaned with a HAND WASH!! I got in and the bottle was still in the front seat and the council was still all wet from the spray of the bottle! The kid inside had his head down, on his phone, and not even recognizing people when they walked in, so he had a huge long line of people waiting to pay because he wasn't paying attention to the fact that people were trying to pay. Cars were ready and they were still waiting to pay!! They offer coffee, but there's no coffee in the pot... not a big deal except he knew there was no coffee left in the pot because someone told him, and he did nothing about it until a guy came in and asked about an iced coffee. There is signs of different kinds of coffee iced, espresso, etc, like they used to have, and they apparently dont even offer that. I will not be going back!
