The owner is super nice, service is usually good, counter food looks good. Maybe it was just a bad day. So I tried again, got and egg sandwich, it was very good, but it was $12 bucks, coffee and a snack, almost $20, felt ripped off. I was in town for business and stopped by Gold Coast Deli for a quick lunch. It was very busy when I got there, and not clear who was in line to order and who was waiting for their food. There isn't a lot of standing room by the counter, so we were all cramped and unsure where to stand. They have a very large selection of sub sandwiches, paninis, salads, and other items. I ordered the Mexican panini, which was pretty large, I couldn't even finish it. It was decent but came with WAY too much chipotle mayo. Ordered 22 sandwiches to take out on the paddle boat cruise around Huntington Bay. Mike was great, suggested roll sandwiches instead of hero's and it was a win! Got the American style and Italian style. Freaked out a little when some sandwiches were marked GF and thought Gluten Free....but was Godfather (for Italian LOL) ALL NEAT AND TIDY WRAPPED UP! Stay away at all COSTS! I have given this deli so many chances and wow it's one disappointment after the other. We were charged different prices for the same sandwich on two separate occasions. When my friend brought this to the attention of the cashier she was very rude. When speaking to the owner about the situation he was aggressive, unapologetic, dismissive and in complete denial. Beware from long time patrons grabbing a quick lunch to bring on the boat 2-3 times a week it's too bad we won't be giving our business to this deli anymore. No way. Not after being treated so disrespectfully. A bit of advice to owners you're not the only place to grab sandwiches. I ordered two different sandwiches on rolls.. one turkey BLT with mayo and a chichicken cutlet sandwich the same way. Both came with slimy sweet coleslaw instead of lettuce tomato and mayo which is something I never would have switched out for. Also turkey was skimpy and bacon was cold and barely cooked. I've been looking for 5 years now for the best burger in Huntington. It's here! It was fresh meat, cooked exactly to order, and it was served on a Kaiser roll. The fries to go with it solved yet another chronic problem among all restaurants - these were fresh, not oily and not overly salty. They tasted like the fries my mom made for me as a kid. Of course, I got there just at noon, which means that the steam table was full of the day's hot goodies. Their mashed potatoes and kielbasa with onions were both on offer. Both are favorites of mine. They also had green beans and mixed vegetables, neither of which were cooked to mush like other places do. I picked up 3 slices of meatloaf and a serving of their mac n cheese. That will make me a few meals in the coming week! The rest of the hots were chicken Caesar and yellow rice. Another time, my friends. The deli was, as it always is, sparkling clean. The service was great as ever despite it being busy. The cold salads looked delicious, and I've already sung rhapsodies about the omelettes, sandwiches, and wraps. This place has gone drastically downhill since it changed owners from Porcos. The new owner needs a better understanding of customer service. A group of 4 of us ordered 4 sandwiches at 12:40pm. We left there at 1:26pm. They completely forgot our order during the lunch rush, which honestly is fine. It happens! I wish they noticed earlier than 30 mins into the order. However, again, it's fine! But then to be spoken to so rudely by the owner, no apology, an excuse as if they didn't forget. All our sandwiches were then rushed, two were wrong and the panini wasn't even cooked. Stumbled upon this deli today and I'm so happy that we did. The service was amazing and so was the food. We tried the homemade peanut butter cookies...OBSESSED!! This is my place for early morning deli-style egg sandwiches. It doesn't hurt that it's right near my house. In any case, those egg and cheese (or egg, cheese and bacon) on a roll are the idealized form of what you want when you're thinking of having one. Also fine lunch sandwiches. One note: Yelp lists their hours as opening at 6 a.m. on Sundays, but I was there at 6:20 and it was still closed. Not sure what's the deal there. read more

My favorite deli on Long Island!!! I've been frequenting since it was "Porkos" and I was very disappointed when it changed.... But the quality of food and staff has only improved over the years. The grill is always on, and they make THE BEST egg sandwiches around!! The iced tea is always amazing! So many options and everything is fantastic! Great prices, friendly and attentive staff.. never had an issue with a take-out order before. The coffee is VERY weak.... not good at all, but that is my one and only complaint about the place. The outdoor seating, directly on the water, is so beautiful! It's the only deli I'll ever stay to eat at. Don't understand the hype around Bay Deli, when this gem is right around the corner!! This has become my go to deli because it is so close to my house. In the morning I'll call in my order and by the time I get there 10 minutes later it's ready. The egg sandwiches are tasty and they have a large variety of snacks, drinks and other 'entree' items. On top of that, one of the cashiers is the sweetest woman I have ever met.. unfortunately I don't remember her name. I gave this place around 20 chances. I write this a couple hundred dollars in food/drinks later. It's literally next to where I live so it was convenient when on a schedule/in a rush. When they were "porkos" they were a bit better but now this place is a sketchy ripoff. I've been a resident of Huntington for 20+ years and this is by far the worst food establishment to hit this town. First of all if you order a hot sandwich, they use a microwave to heat the food, appalling. You want a hot chicken sandwich? Get ready for rubber chicken. If you have cheese on a hot sandwich with chicken, they put the cheese on then proceed to nuke it in the microwave for over 2 minutes. Do you like bacon? Well I hope you like uncooked/raw bacon because that's all you'll get. I can order Roast Beef with bacon, Chicken with bacon, eggs with bacon, it's horrendous. I'm typing this as I look at my sandwich with one bite taken out of it. If I had a dollar for every time I ordered hasbrowns on my egg sandwich only to unwrap my sandwich to see no hashbrowns I'd be a billionaire. It's sad honestly because the people are pretty nice in there but they clearly have their heads in the sand. Don't go to this place, just don't. read more

Have been a good customer for a few years dropping 15-20$ every time I go, I have a card for Belly which gives you 5 points per purchase when you reach a certain number you get a free sandwich, coffee, or something else. So I reach 70 points they send me am email telling me I am entitled to a free breakfast sandwich. Only when I print out the email and go to Gold Coast they refuse to honor saying I redeemed these points !!!!! Really like I would be bothered trying to get a free egg sandwich are you kidding me !!!!! To make matters worse I gave this to my daughter who is 15 and they refused to serve her with a printed email showing she was entitled how very sad that they promote this and then refuse. Never did they try and prove to me that I used it they just accused me that I did which I had not. I always liked this deli but now I will never go there again really a 5 dollar sandwich is going to break you. Boy how the mighty have fallen!!!!! read more
