I move quite often and always do my search before getting a service or individual inside my home. I had a few choices on my list before making a final decision. Most of them had excellent reviews but not availability, plus I don't really like the idea of having a guy cleaning my place, don't get me wrong. (it's just me). I found about Gold Star Maids back in December of last year, very busy for everybody. They were able to provide the cleaning a day before Christmas eve, that was fantastic! I am very meticulous when it comes to my home, not only about cleaning performance but also trust, consistency, and customer service. That's why I kind of waited a little bit before writing this review. I was able to find all of these characteristics in this company. On the day of the cleaning, the team was right on time, efficiency and very thorough. They were so careful with every single detail, brought a 3-step and wiped down on top of the refrigerator and reached the top of kitchen cabinets. Baseboards wiped down, couches were moved carefully to vacuum and mop wood floors, and the list goes on. I'm glad they don't use toxic chemicals, the apartment smells great and clean, everything shiny but not oily. I've decided to get the monthly cleaning and they always get those little details others miss. I requested to have the same people, I'm not at home when they come but they have access to my condo and everything is going excellent with them. I received email reminders a day before the cleaning and after the cleaning I get an email asking if everything was alright and if I'm satisfied. That's what customer services is about. Overall experience, can't ask for more, from all the cleaning services I'd used this is by far the best. I'll be using this company for all the time I'm staying in this area. I was looking to get my condo professionally cleaned before I a move in, but I was skeptical of whom I should hired. A friend informed me about Janet (Gold Star Maids owner) and I decided to give them a try , because their full-price service seemed pretty realistic, availability was very easy and their Yelp reviews were great. I couldn't be more satisfied. I set up cleaning for a Friday a few days out, and Janet contacted me within hours to confirm the time. The price to send two people to clean a 2 bed/2 bath apartment for a move in up to three hours was $189. They worked the ENTIRE time, I would even say 20 minutes extra. Cleaned inside cabinets, oven, refrigerator, they moved stove and refrigerator; windows inside and out (other companies charge a lot extra for this service), baseboards, fans, etc., etc. Everything was meticulously cleaned. Janet and Yamilet were really good, so much that I'm recommending them to all my co-workers, family and friends. I was really kind of blown away by their honesty and transparency as well. The final price was exactly what she had quoted me and didn't charge me extra for the 20 minutes. I'll definitively use their regular service. DO NOT USE THIS CLEANING SERVICE. We hired Gold Star Maids LLC (GSM) in July 2020. When we returned home we found that a new stair runner was melted/damaged on 11 different stair treads. We immediately reported the damage, GSM sent someone to inspect, they claimed the company's innocence, and that there is no way GSM could/would have done that damage, nor did they ever identify the qualifications of the crew, the actual equipment type/tools used in our home or equipment serviceability. GSM even suggested that we "might" have caused the damage ourselves, or it was installed damaged and we just did not notice! If you are looking for a responsible cleaning service that takes customer feedback and satisfaction seriously--they did not even offer to refund the cleaning fee--then look elsewhere and do not hire or use this company. They accepted zero responsibility, and only offered "some free" services in the future as compensation. We filed a claim with the Better Business Bureau, to which we informed the complaint could not be pursued because it appears the company is no longer at the address" registered in the Virginia Corporation Commission information system. read more

I cannot say enough positive things about Janet as a house cleaner. We had gone through a number of cleaning agencies before we met Janet. In the past, we had always found ourselves disappointed. When we met Janet, however, it was exactly the opposite - everything is done right! Janet takes extreme pride in her work and always goes the extra mile. We have particularities about how we want cleaning done and Janet has always been happy to accommodate. Hiring a cleaner can be a nerve-racking experience because you are letting someone into the privacy of your home. Janet is one of the most trustworthy people that I have met and it was never an issue for us. She is reliable and has never damaged anything in our home. Additionally, she has made it very easy to communicate with her either by phone, text message or email. This has made it infinitely easier to discuss cleaning schedules, etc. That is a huge help and very convenient. Lastly, she charges a very reasonable rate. How excited I am to write a review about this amazing individual. I live in an apartment and never in my life had I hired someone to clean it, because I always thought I can do the cleaning myself and I don't really want someone I don't know in my house. With our very busy schedule and three kids, well we never had the time. I took a big chance and hired Janet. I cannot stress enough, that I made one of the best decisions ever. She's a very trustworthy person, easy to accommodate with our schedules and she left my apartment immaculate clean. It was like I walked into a different place, I didn't even want to take a shower because the tubs were spotlessly clean, something I had never been able to do myself. I was very very pleased with the service she has provided, and continuous to provide each and every time. If she were to move from the metropolitan area, I think I will be moving apartments just so I can keep her. We hired Janet when our work schedules made cleaning our 5 bedroom house just too much for us. She was the third service we tried and we have not gone on to a fourth because we have been so pleased. Janet and her group are both thorough, getting every little detail, and also fast, they don't take all day even though we have a pretty big house. Janet has always gone the extra mile for us, cleaning the outside of the windows on our deck for instance without being asked, and even getting the dust bunnies under the dresser. Janet is also very friendly, easy to communicate with, and has been willing to accommodate changes in our schedule and short turn-around requests, like coming in on the day of a party or event at our house. Initially, we always made sure we were home for cleaning services but since getting to know Janet we just gave her a key. This makes it much easier for scheduling for us and it's really wonderful to come home to a Gold Star Maids-cleaned house knowing it will be done right! read more
