    Texas Trinity

Great experience today at Golden Boy. Started w the Pulled Pork Nachos which are fantastic. Huge portion and the pickled onions are my fav. Had the Texas Trinity (ribs, brisket and a sausage link). The sides were a huge hit- the elote, broccolini and potato salad. Everything was fresh and Claire our server was very attentive and friendly. Great food, friendly service and fun atmosphere made for an excellent visit. Highly recommended!!!

The banana pudding and jalapeño peppers were hands down some of the best I've had in a long time. True bbq delights. Great brisket and pork belly, I'd skip the corn bread next time - but service was quick kind and easy - prices were worth the quality - absolutely will be back.

Great bbq joint - large patio area and open restaurant. Friendly staff, order at the counter and pickup. Food was good and loved the hidden bar area in the back. Got myself a delicious old fashioned to go with my bbq. Love the pecan pie for dessert. Would def come back in the summer for some fun vibes.

The service was amazing! Our server made sure everything was great. He was super accommodating. That guy was also hilarious. Honestly the best server ever. I have a severe food allergy and the manager came to the table and reassured us. The food was quick to come out to us and it was delicious. We ordered the brisket it was tender and juicy. The nachos tasted great, the portions were just right. I loved the inside of the restaurant. It's great for pictures with all the natural light coming in. Will definitely come back

I'm surprised this place doesn't have more reviews!! Such a gem in elmhurst with easy parking but with city vibes! They have patio area that has heated lamps . It was middle of February and my kids insisted on sitting outside , and believe it or not it was warm enough to sit outside without your coat on due to the heat lamps. I wanted us to sit inside however, in their really cool glasshouse type of dining area. It's spacious with a bar and the workers were super friendly. Perfect place to bring people and watch a game. Came on Sunday for dinner and wasn't busy at all. You order at the counter and they bring it out to your table. For mains we got the brisket, nachos, and beef rib (I don't think they have the rib regularly). Really good quality and tender meat. Reminded me a lot of Terrys Blacks in Dallas TX. The elote and slaw were also phenomenal and a great price for only $5, and my kids loved the banana pudding. Love this spot and will be back.

So glad to see more Texas-inspired bbq joints popping up around the burbs!! GB sports quite a rustically pleasing greenhouse-esque interior with a full-service bar and plenty of outdoor seating as well. The staff could have not made me feel any more welcome by, first off, explaining how the menu works and even going the extra mile by asking if I wanted a refill on my water! This shows how thoroughly each and every team member has been trained to make this new joint feel like a home.. well done there!! Although "this ain't Texas" and certainly "ain't no hold 'em" either, GB may offer the closest experience to such. Their meats are the star of the show, while sides could use a little work (hence the 1-star deduction). The brisket, first off, had already fallen apart before attempting to consume (which is a good sign, I believe) except most of its moisture had been lost by then. Still packed plenty of prominently smoky flavor though. The jalapeño/cheddar link gave the perfect snap and a nice oozy cheesy filling on the inside, whereas the sticky pork belly had an on-point fat to meat ratio and amazing melt-in-your-mouth sensation. I would recommend adding the PB to their housemade nachos for an out-of-body trip to flavortown!! The smash burger was also a hit. I would like to return and try the lamb chops, which hopefully will not be sold out next time. For sides, I would highly recommend the broccoli salad, packing the perfect creamy, dilly punch from the dressing and a subtle burst of sweetness from the pickled golden raisins. The tater tot casserole contained tons of cheesiness and comfort; however, I was significantly bewildered by the sight of not one, but two rings of oil which sat amongst the concoction (one in the middle and one on bottom). Very off-putting and would taste better if the oil levels could be mitigated for future batches. The 'elotes' cannot really be called elotes, as perhaps 'hot fire-roasted corn salad' would be more appropriate. I still found this tasty, however. The coolness and creaminess was there in the banana pudding, but just shocked there was no Nilla Wafer topping. Most banana puddings I've had in the past have included this, which is what I feel would have truly perfected this one. Although there are notable areas for growth regarding GB's culinary showcase, I believe they are most certainly off to a great start. GB also has a considerable potential to foster community amongst Elmhurst and beyond (especially considering the live country music events scheduled on Thursdays). I am profoundly eager to see what the future holds for this newborn star of a smokehouse!

    A 1.

4.5 Stars. Brisket and Pulled Pork, outstanding! Brisket was succulent and nicely smoked. Pulled pork excellent flavor with a good bark. Both were well seasoned. Sides were also tasty, especially liked the corn dish. Service was good. Good value. Great ambiance, loved outdoor seating. More later... after my next visit. Great job GB BBQ.

I'm glad I called because they had holiday hours today and glad they mentioned they are stopping taking orders at a certain time and I was able to place an order to go. It's in a private parking lot in a strip mall type set up. Their location is in the corner end of the lot closest to the main road. As you walk in, you can smell the barbecue and looking around. It's a nice spacious place. They also have a bar along with a full arcade game room. When I came in to pick up my order, they were pretty quick. The staff was friendly in the place was clean. As I got home, I unloaded the food, it was cute. They wished me a happy Fourth of July of my to go bag. This is what we ordered: -Full slab barbecue pork ribs, it was nice and smoky. They served the type of ribs that you have to work on chewing it tear off the bone a bit. It's not fall off the bone, soft meat which I prefer myself. I requested the Chicago Sweet barbecue sauce which I like the flavor, but keep in mind. It does have a black pepper taste to it if you're sensitive to spicy. -half a pound of brisket we requested the fattier side of our order. It was very good soft and juicy. I would definitely get this again. -side of Mac and cheese, this was pretty good. I get it again. The noodles were soft and cheesy. Keep in mind. There's also a little heat spiciness if you like it like that. -mini corn dogs and fries kids menu, the corn dog was OK however I felt it was a bit overcooked a little too crunchy and the hotdog ended up being a bit dry and the fries had some good flavor, but for some reason, it was overcooked as well, someone in the reviews made a comment it could be twice fried fries that made it looked dark which I'd rather have it golden color not dark overcooked fresh cut fries. I give the place 4/5 stars service and how clean the place is inside. I would give my food order, 3/5 stars overall 3.5 stars.. Overall, it was OK barbecue not sure if it's because I ordered at the end of their day or not of certain dishes over a bit dry, fried/cooked... I'll have to come back here when they first open and dine in and update my review as I like bbq and support local businesses.

One was lean brisket, burnt ends and pulled pork with the brisket beans and onion rings. The other was lean brisket, pulled pork and rib tips with Mac and cheese and bacon potato salad. We were both disappointed with the brisket, it was very thinly sliced and had a heavy smoke flavor. We did like the burnt ends, rib tips and the pulled pork. We did not care for any of the sides. They weren't anything special. The kicker was our order of sweet potato fries, that cost $3.95. What we received was ridiculous. When I picked up our order, was just asked the name and that was it. No greeting or thank you. It was early when I picked up the order so it wasn't that crowded. So I don't know how the ambiance would be.

They only offer 3 kinds of banchan when most korean restaurants fill your table with them. One of my kids really disliked the Korean ramen because the noodles were very obviously from packaged ramen. Most restaurants have really soggy kimchi or seafood pancakes and theirs was very crispy with nice flavor. Service is really good and the place clean. I didn't dislike it by any means. It's just not authentic at all if that's what you're seeking.

They give pickled daikon, Korean potato salad and kimchi as your accompaniments. It's a really nice spot, there's seating for groups, an area for a large family and for parties of 2. Fair warning- high sodium food. Drink lots of water and be prepared to feel a little dehydrated the next day.
