Ordered here on DoorDash and found a COCKROACH in my house fried rice. We called the restaurant and asked for a refund and he offered to remake the rice. Yuck! He was very dismissive and acted like he couldn't understand that a roach was literally found in my food. We couldn't even stomach to eat or touch anything that came from the restaurant. 3.5 stars for consistently being our family's above average local Chinese takeout spot. Pickup via drive thru on bikes during Covid (Phase 3). Food was hot, packed/bagged/ready on arrival with sauces and prepared as ordered. 2 qt's of Veggie lo mein and 2 dinner combos, Sesame chicken and sweet and sour chicken, for $38+tip. A sizable price increase from prior visits but ok with supporting local businesses. No forks or napkins, 1 fortune cookie short. Sesame chicken was very good. Tender, flavorful, and heat hot. Always enjoy the pieces of fresh'ish broccoli. PRO TIP: we order rice and entrees without onions to guarantee they're prepared fresh. Ordered dinner last night, listed my severe peanut allergy in the details, when I got my order all of the food was completely incorrect. I couldn't eat anything from it due to not knowing if they even acknowledged the peanut allergy so I called them before they closed. (No answer) waited and called back this morning.... The worst customer service ever. Told me they didn't have my order (despite me giving them the order number and full name as well as full rundown of that I was supposed to receive) refused to work with me or admit their wrong doing. Been ordering here for many years and several things have changed and/or doesn't taste the same. 1) Wonton Soup - extremely salty the past several times I've ordered. Way too salty. My toes are swelling as I type this. 2) Fried Wontons - served w/ wonton soup look pre-made or store bought. It used to be freshly made. Not good anymore. 3) Crab Rangoon - filling still good but barely any & wonton wrapper is different. Way too hard to bite into. Do not like the new wrappers. 4) Eggroll - Filling was mushy. Flavor was good but there was a mushiness about it. Pros: * Chicken & Broccoli w/ garlic sauce is still delicious. * Pad Thai is still delicious * Shrimps are huge! Love the shrimps!! read more

This is my favorite Chinese place! They say they don't use MSG and they DON'T! I have a terrible MSG intolerance and haven't ever had a reaction from eating here. Though, it should be said that I only get the same things everytime: egg drop or wonton soup, sesame chicken, and fried rice. The service is always fast and friendly. read more

I only been here one time in past 4 years, They have a drive thru but no speaker. I went in & was greeted right away, the man seemed very anxious to serve us in a good way. I already knew what I wanted to order, he then went to kitchen while I was getting my money out an made the food before I could even finish counting my money, usually I would think this odd, but I ordered simple shrimp fried rice. The best 'take out' Chinese establishment in Norfolk! Nothing is pre-made - it's all fresh and lava temperature as it comes out of the wok in front of your eyes. Tell them you want your order *spicy* and you get spicy. Every dish is flavorful and more than ample in terms of serving size. Do try the Pad Thai that's offered...it's fabulous and rivals any you get in a Thai restaurant in the area. An excellent choice! I personally love the shrimp and vegetables offered on the combination menu. You get a nice and hot egg roll with fried rice and an abundance of good-sized shrimp with a myriad of vegetables. The House Rice is outstanding too. We love this place for take out! read more

Phone girl could hardly understand my address, asking me if I'm sure I know my own address. Food came and they forgot an item. Everything else was bland, overcooked, or just too salty. Ordered pepper steak & onion combo, fried dumplings, egg rolls, pint of rice & wonton soup. Pepper steak & onion was ordered with lo mein but we were given fried rice. Finished the fried dumplings, but everything else went straight to the trash. The egg rolls smelt and tasted very very old. The wonton soup smelt horrible as well. Steak tasted like rubber. We recently moved to Norfolk from Virginia Beach and the search for good Chinese food in Hampton Roads continues. Prior to this I grew up in Richmond and good Chinese food was everywhere. Golden China is right down the road and the Yelp reviews were pretty good so we gave it a try. The wife ordered veggie Lo Mein which she seemed to enjoy. My mother ordered the Chef's Special Triple Delight which was drowned in a greasy but pretty tasty brown sauce and I had General Tso's with pork fried rice. Again too much sauce and the fried rice stole the show. We all shared a couple of quarts of Wonton soup which was by far the hilight, tons of wonton and a really good broth. We'll go again for the wonton soup but more than likely try somewhere new. Like I said before, the search continues read more

We've orders here a few times, mainly because there general tso was good enough and the eggrolls are decent. However tonight we ordered maybe for the 3rd time and it was a huge miss. 30 minutes over the estimated delivery time. Left out my shrimp roll. My mom's Mongolian beef was so spicey she couldn't eat it (& it was not given a spicey warning). This place is okay. Ordered Bourbon chicken and they make it a completely different way than I expected. Chicken was a bit tough and it had no sauce. The pork fried rice was delicious. It may have been the delivery driver who did not get my drink order correct (gave me lemonade instead of tea) but I do have to admit, that was some damn good lemonade lol read more

Delivery was fast, the driver was friendly and my order was correct. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken for my boys and they really enjoyed it. I got the pad thai for myself and it had everything it should have plus huge shrimps. Everything was fresh, no fishy taste. Unfortunate, the flavor was lacking. Not a big fan of Chinese food but love fried rice and usually get the house-special variety, which in most establishments include a variety of meat (chicken, pork, shrimp, etc.) peas and carrots, and if your lucky, scrambled eggs. Golden China's house-special fried rice was the worst I've ever had. Hardly any meat and what was there was cut so small it was hardly noticeable. I ordered a quart and there were only 6 small shrimp. The most disappointing part of my order was no veggies at all, other than onions. The veggies are part of what makes house-special fried rice "special." Also, the rice was all clumped and stuck together. I will not be a returning customer. read more
