We came here based on Yelp reviews...we had a party of 12 so we couldnt get into the Thai restaurant we wanted to go to. They quickly prepared more food and we came in and settled down. I would say this place probably has high reviews because it is cheap. The food was not bad...but not good either. Kind of flavorless and spicy was not spicy at all. Being that I dont live in this area, I probably will not return. But it served it's purpose for a large and hungry crowd. read more

Ate lunch at 12:25. The fried rice had a very bland flavor and was barely warm. The General Tso's chicken had no spiciness at all and was lukewarm. The King Pao chicken had some heat but the chicken tasted like it had been boiled in its own juices and the sauce tasted like a bland gravy. For lunch, I was very disappointed. Food was bland and not fresh. I threw half of it away. I will never go back there. I don't know how it got 5 star reviews. read more

Stopped here not really expecting much and was surprised by how delicious the food was. The noodles taste so light and "clean". I even asked the owner and she said she uses a special oil and do not reuse the oil. The pineapple beef just melts in your mouth! As I am writing this at 1:38 in the morning I am wishing it was open to go get some! Lol The place is very clean and I like how they have the setup for the fortune cookies. The staff here are really sweet and welcoming, but I was disappointed with the quality of their food for the most part. I came here on a Monday evening around 6:30 pm expecting fresh items on the steam tables. I had to wait for the order of pot stickers, which was fine. They were amazingly delicious! The rest of my selection was unfortunately just mediocre. The orange chicken was on the stale side and tasted as if it had been sitting out since the beginning of the day. It had the true zest of orange, so I believe that it would be delicious fresh. The kung pao chicken was "meh," and nothing to write home about. I'll definitely try this place once more closer to when they first open for the day to see if the food is fresher and of better quality. Updated review coming soon. read more

I wanted to like it. I read the reviews that it was better & cheaper than Panda. I thought the person who reviewed it and gave 1 star might be a food snob because there were so many good reviews. I try not to say anything at all unless I have something nice to say like my mom taught me. So, here's the good - the service was very good, friendly, even kept my food warm while I waited for crab puffs to be made on the spot. I had the orange chicken, sesame chicken & chow mein noodles. The other reviewer who said there was a lack of flavor was pretty accurate. The orange chicken did have some orange flavor, but there was so much breading & hardly any chicken that pretty much it was just a sweet flavor. The sesame chicken was pretty much the same; lots of breading, hardly any chicken & the flavor was just sweet. The chow mein was ok, but again, lacking in flavor. The crab puffs were chewy and pretty hard by the time I had them at home. They did this cool thing with the container cutting out a square on top which I though would render them delicious rather than soggy by the time I got them home. No such luck. Maybe I just live too far away & they would have been better eaten on the spot. The filling was tasty and they provided plenty of sauce to go with them. Maybe it was an off night for them, I hope so but, I don't think I would go back to find out. Lastly, the directions in Yelp are incorrect for this place. They tak you to the intersection of Brandt & 4th Plain. It's more than 1/2 mile east of there on the north side of the street at the intersection of Stapleton & 4th Plain. read more

Honestly, terrible. We went here after seeing that the overall reviews were good, but genuinely heed the recent bad ones. Taste is bland nothing great, also not distinctly "chinese" in flavor, but that's excusable. The main gripe is that not one of our three orders were correct. In addition to that, anything including chicken was mostly breading, very little chicken, and the "orange chicken" was covered in a sugar like glaze crust that was absolutely disgusting. The General Tso's chicken was ridiculously flavorless but incredibly spicy, if that makes any sense. The fried rice was edible but had nothing in it, the only difference between this fried rice and white rice was the color. read more

As I waited for an order of crab puffs (Super cheap and the sauce is yummy) I heard the friendly women behind the counter greeting other customers by name, noticing that they hadn't seen some folks for awhile etc. I got WAY more food than I needed because it was just such a good deal. Next time I'll be prepared but I wanted to try out a few different menu items since it was my first time in. Don't expect anything fancy. The storefront is aging along with the neighborhood (no judgement, I live around here too) but this is in stark contrast to the friendly service and great value I found within. I'm pretty sure it's a mom and pop husband and wife couple that run this amazing joint. Not only do they have the traditional fast food Chinese items (gen tsao, orange chick, fried rice) but the chef is always cooking up some interesting off-menu items. The food here is extremely fresh and the owner of the restaurant even serves you. She is really friendly! This place is right across the street from the Vancouver West Police Precinct and I always see cops eating here. It's cheap. $5.75 for two big portions of meat along with chow mein or rice. My only complaint is it is SUPER bright in there and the seating is just decent. They really need to invest into some better warmer lighting and some more booths. Behind a seemingly simple exterior lied a place with amazing service. Our server was so wonderful and friendly! She offered us free samples of most of the entrees, all of which were super delicious. I ended up deciding upon a combination of chow main and fried rice, with kung pao chicken and salt and pepper chicken, and my boyfriend had the beef and broccoli and the manderin chicken. It was so super delicious and flavorful, much more so than I might have expected, especially for a total price of only fourteen dollars for the two of us including a drink! Craving chinese food and found this place. While it has a fast food "panda ex" kinda layout, it is very clean and the food is so much better. I got a 2 item combo with chow mein, orange chicken and teriyaki chicken (all were delicious) and tried crab puffs for the first time. Crab puffs seem to be fried won ton with cream cheese filling. I am not sure if there is crab in any of them but they were still delicious. I'll definitely go again if I'm craving chinese fast food. read more

I am writing this review because I moved away 4 years ago and still miss this place. I used to literally live around the corner and would eat here almost daily. The owners were always more kind than they had any reason to be and even remembered my name when I stopped in 3 years after I moved. The food here always hits the spot and I was never disapointed with the quality. Pop in and pop out for a quick lunch. Not too bad. The variety changes each time I have gone in and sometimes there is a lot of dishes to choose from and sometimes not so much. This is easy for on the go lunch. You choose the dish you want much like Panda express. The quality is okay. First let me say I am not a fan of Americanized Chinese food. This place is it. I found the food either overly salty or sweet. I wouldn't say there was much of a variety in the menu. There is salty fried chicken, fried chicken dipped in different sweet sauces... soup and stir fry. That is how I sum up the meal. If you are looking for healthy food, go elsewhere. When I arrived and announced this was the first time trying them, the very friendly lady had me sample pretty much everything they had. Like - no questions, here's food. Try it.
