I always phone in and even when they're really busy, they take the time to get me my order, let me pay and be on my way. We have never had lukewarm meals (always hot!), and they really pack it in! Waiter today was very off. Almost seemed as if she didn't care about our orders. Asked for shrimp but was brought chicken on my plate. When I told the waiter about the misunderstanding she brushed it off saying I said chicken instead of shrimp. Very ignorant behavior to acknowledge her mistake. Didn't want to argue about it; Ruined my appetite to finish the food. My wife ordered a dish that came with a salad. She showed the waiter the picture of the salad. Came with lettuce, carrots and other vegetables. Instead she was given a salad only containing Lettuce with dressing and nothing else. This is a chain of ichi teriyaki places in the area. However, this one seems to one of the lower priced ones around. The other one that I go to often in the brush prairie area is way more expensive than this place. Overall the freshness of the food was really good. I got the yakisoba noodles and it could have used a little more spices to it as it was pretty bland. But, still really good. I just added some of the teriyaki sauce they give you and it was not bad at all. Their were two older ladies working there. One at the register and the other in the back cooking. Pre-pandemic, this was our go-to restaurant for yummy teriyaki. It is tasty, always prepared fresh, and service is fantastic. We've finally been venturing back to our favorite restaurants, but still doing take out. We mask up, most of the staff does, but many customers do not. The servers here are completely accommodating. You can order by line, or on phone, and they'll bring it to your car. Or, as I do, order inside and wait out on the sidewalk for my order...no biggee. Their servers are always friendly and professional. The interior is clean and tidy. We had been going here since they opened. This past Monday evening my wife went to pick up "our usual" order. It was about 8pm. She placed the orders and requested vegetables in place of rice. She wrote down the request. The orders also include a small salad. As she was ringing it up she then stated there was no salad available this late in the evening and she could substitute more rice. My wife then said she wanted vegetables instead of rice. As the order was rung up the total came to over $37!!!! When my wife asked why she was told that she HAS to charge extra for the vegetables. My wife told her we had never been charged before form swapping vegetables for rice before. And the cashier said she had to charge for the vegetables. She canceled the order. Prices have escalated at Ichi the last year, as with everywhere else, we get that, but with now with this poor customer service piled on top of the high pricing and this not being a good value anymore we are taking our business elsewhere. We can get food at a sit-down Asian restaurant now for about the same price, and in this particular case, the price of over $37 is more than a complete family meal at another place we frequent. read more

Love this family owned business! Great portion sizes, friendly staff, yummy food. Pre quarantine they had a free egg drop soup that was available in the dining room when you ate in. During quarantine was able to get food to go though. The staff knows your name and order if you're a regular. Shows how much they care. When mom is in the kitchen and the daughter takes orders, you know you're in good hands! The teriyaki chicken is so juicy and flavorful and they give you extra sauce if you want more. I think they use ice cream scoopers for the rice and you only get two tiny scoops, which is hardly enough when you pay 15-16 for it with a little bit of meat and a small side salad. I go to this place about once a week - it's quintessential teriyaki at a great price. The staff here is incredibly friendly, to the point where they remember who you are when you call your order in! My favorite order here is the chicken, pork, and gyoza combination. The portions are huge plus comes with a salad and delicious dressing. Sitting mostly alone in a strip mall on life support (why do they build these things in such a bad economy?) is a little gem of a teriyaki place. I watched it open and noticed it every time I was in the Winco parking lot; somehow I never really thought to stop until just recently. Usually when I go shopping I try and make sure I am not hungry when I arrive so I don't buy an extra $30 in junk. This time I was hungry, and in this part of town options are very limited so I finally acquiesced and went in for some lunch. Walking in I was really pleasantly surprised when I saw how well decorated it was, dark wood chairs and tables, real silverware on every table and so very neat and clean. Not your typical teriyaki joint experience. I scanned the menu for a bit and was a little disappointed in the prices. Now I know how they can afford this nice furniture. However, it smelled really good in there, so I just dove in and ordered chicken and pork and a drink. My plate arrived at the table and it was more of a platter, this thing had it's own zip code and gravitational pull (see picture). The meat was laid out along the edge and the salad at the top and two scoops of rice that, at least to me, looked like "rice boobies". I started with my salad and I have to say that the dressing was your standard sesame type affair but I continually have to wonder why they serve the lettuce in such huge pieces, almost like flags! Every teriyaki place I know, or at least member, does this, it is annoying. The meats were just wonderful! There was plenty on the plate even for a big guy like me and the taste was perfect, deep rich flavors. I probably cannot be back as often as I would like because of the current economy but when things pick up I'll be back more often. read more

I should probably take off a star just for the name (no numbers please), but this place is such a friendly spot, with great food, great portions and fair prices that I have to give them five stars. This particular location of this chain restaurant is somewhat hidden, located in the parking lot of the local WinCo supermarket, but facing away from the main street, so you really don't know it's there till you enter the parking lot. I guessed that might take some of their business away and the girl behind the counter confirmed that. The physical plant is about the same as most mini mall restaurants with a few upgrades that make the environment a little more enjoyable to eat in. Someone spent a little more time making sure the dining area was more enticing than the average cafe. As for the food, think Panda Express with a much larger menu, or as the counter girl told me, "we have too many options." The food is all great tasting and always seems quite fresh. And the portions are substantial enough to make your order stretch into two meals (one now, and one later) for all but the most hungry eaters. It's worth a visit, especially if you've just finished a workout at the FCC a couple of blocks away on 136th. A hidden Asian food gem just down the street from the gym? I'm in. read more

I am wary of going out to eat based on service/price/portion etc, but I felt my $ was well spent here. They also have a huge pot of complimentary egg drop soup out for customers (until it runs out) that's really yummy and perfect for while you're waiting for your order to come out. HUGE portion of Teriyaki. I get the extra extra extra spicy and It was barely hot. But it does have a good mix of vegetables in it. Can never have enough of those. If you are hungry come here. As for taste I would say it ranks second so far in all of Vancouver. Portions hands down number 1. Price point was pretty cheap for me. I got two meals for the price of one.
