Its mother's day and we arrived at 11AM and we had a table for 8 quickly The food warm to very hot depending on what you were looking for which I always start off with the seafood section 1st because the tends to go faster than anything else. They had popcorn shrimp and fried flounder with baked fish but it was too salty for me and hush puppies also but no fried clams today. Moving on I explored the next set of tables and the meatloaf was moving fast along with the steak station so I went for the bbq spare ribs and some green beans and mashed potatoes which was good pl as the everything was hot and tasty. For plate #3 which I must put in a Willie. D disclaimer that I only sampled the small portions on my plates no full plate were eaten at least not by me!. Made it back to the steak table and asked for a medium well done piece which I had was perfect because after learning never ask for well done because it become a expensive hockey puck. Dessert was hood had a variety plate with the cherry pie, red velvet cake,apple pie, banana pudding and bread pudding on it. My son decided he wanted to come here for his birthday dinner. I figured, why not. It's been a few months since I've been. Bourbon Street chicken was dry and crappy. The rice is dried out and crunchy. The shrimp was less than mediocre. Now it's time for dessert. WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY DID THEY GET RID OF CHOCOLATE???M.. I do not want a pineapple vanilla swirl. Overall fantastic Thanksgiving dinner. For those of us unable or too tired to cook, a perfect solution for our holiday meal. Everything we tried was good. The dressing with sage was worth seconds. If you are not fond of turkey, chicken, fish meatloaf as well as pizza are good substitutes. As crowed as as it was, the noise level was very tolerable. Augusta - Martinez GA location OK, we tried it again 05-30-26 @ 4:30pm * Cashier - the guy looked and acted grumpy. No greeting just cash or card and here's you receipt . * Waitstaff overwhelmed. We seated ourselves, after finally finding a cleared and clean table. Waitress was stretched way to thin, showed up about 4 to 5 mins afterwards. We saw the waitress 2 times. Initial seating requested spoons. She told us where to find and get the spoons ourselves. Never asked if we wanted a drink refill during the visit. Just too busy handling too many customers during a rush time. * Dishes - wet water dripping from them. Went thru 6+ plates to find a dry clean dish. Can only imagine peoples hands, now wet and transferring themselves to the next plate in the stack. * Food - plenty of the less popular items available. Fried chicken pieces looked old and well picked over several times. Never saw a single Wing piece in the 45+/- mins we were there. Fried Fish was real good, Meatloaf was pretty good, Ribs were very good, White Rice a little under cooked but eatable, Black-eyed peas good but need a slice of bacon for flavor, Fried Shrimp were more breading than shrimp, Sweet Yellow Corn was good,. * Sweets - Ice cream good, Chocolate and Carrot cake's pieces a little on the dry side. * General Issues - Food on floors, and buffet counters. Small kids serving themselves on the buffet line and making messes. A couple customers loudly using gutter trash talk, like it was a Friday night bar. SUMMARY: Basically the place has turned into a HOG fest. Even watched 2 customers placing food in their tote bag and large shoulder purse. Seniors 2 Ice Teas, $45 including tip. We have tired and retired this once fantastic 5/5 location about 4 times now over the last 5+ years. It just has not recovered to anywhere near what it once was. Dear friends and strangers: My organization contacted this restaurant over the phone back in mid August of this year to secure a reservation for a group of 15+ seniors for late September. A female manager has stated that this Golden Corral does not make advanced reservations . And she suggested that we would need to come as a group on a date we choose so the staff would accommodate us. So last Saturday I came to the restaurant and told the female manager on duty that we are expecting a group of 15+ seniors to eat and have a group discussion about Medicare. And I stated it is going to be paid via ONE BILL for the entire group. She suggested that we had to wait till all participants arrive so the entire group would come in at the same time. I did not dispute that but it was a big surprise for me cause all other Golden Corrals we have been to have allow us to come in and not to wait of arrivals of late comers. Anyway, we had to wait about 20 minutes while THERE WAS NO LINE AT ALL FOR ANY OTTHER PATRONS. Again, while this restaurant was almost empty around 11:15 am on Saturday, 09/20/2025, seniors 65+ yo had to wait for 20 min. At 11:40 am I signaled to our group to come in AND, we paid for the group at the cashier's register. There was no host or manager who would direct us to a secluded area but we decided to sit in the room designated for group meetings. 5 minutes after we settled the tall male manager came , CONFRONTED ME WITHOUT TELLING ME HIS NAME OR GIVING ME HIS BUSINEES CARD. He was talking down to me telling me that WE CANNOT HAVE A MEETING IN THIS ROOM WHERE HE ALREADY HAVE TWO PATRONS SITTING ( Room occupancy is for 60 people ) He did not tell me if there is any other people coming but insisted that THIS IS HIS STORE, WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE MEETINGS AND/OR PRESENTATIONS AT HIS RESTAURANT. THIS MALE MANAGER WAS EXTREMELY RUDE, DID NOT ALLOW ME TO TALK AT ALL, INTERRUPTING ME WHEN I WAS TRYING TO EXPLAIN WHAT MY PRIOR ARRNAGMENT WAS LIKE. HE ASKED ALL OF US TO LEAVE HIS RESTAURANTS EVEN AFTER THE FACT THAT WE PREPAID FOR FOOD ALREADY. HE DID NOT EVEN OFFER US TO BE SEATED IN ANOTHER AREA. SO, NO ADDITIONAL OPTIONS !!! NO EFFORTS ON HIS BEHALF TO DESIGNATE ANOTHER SEATING AREA FOR US TO GATHER AND ENJOY OUR MEETING ! Our group was witnessing his attitude. Folks in our gathering came from 15 to 25 miles away. IT WAS EXTREMELY DISAPPOINITING TO ALL OF US... I did not argue with this guy cause the way he talked to me was like this is HIS PLACE ; I AM NOT ALLOWED TO TALK AT ALL. So our group has left the restaurant. We claim the refund and we got it. It's bullshit is what it is. They handed me a steak knife and there was no steak. Not one iota of it at all. There was tartar sauce but no popcorn shrimp. The only fish they had was catfish, objectively speaking, the worst fish. My nephew really wanted to come here, so I entertained him. He absolutely loved it. I would live a life of contentment if I never entered another Golden Corral again. I didn't hate it, but there was nothing that makes me want to come back and the long blonde hair (see picture) I found in my hash browns was a definite turnoff. I must say, the fried chicken was delicious, but the hash browns were cold and the grits were runny. The bacon was okay but drenched in grease. They need to do better at draining the fat. I did enjoy the coffee and our server, Genesis was very pleasant. I suppose, to say I'd never come back would be an exaggeration since my nephew loved it, but Golden Corral would definitely be at the bottom of my list. read more

I was very disappointed with this place. The food was ok and the service with our waitress was nice. At the register, they weren't so nice and don't really explain what you're supposed to do. The salad ingredients weren't fresh. The cucumbers were old and see through, and the tomatoes looked nasty. The steaks were dry and I hardly ate. For $40 bucks you expect better. read more

The food just isn't good at all. I understand it's a buffet and not a gourmet restaurant, but I've been to plenty of other buffets where the food actually tastes good. The food here is either super bland or really salty, why is there no in between? Every once in a while they'll roll out something good like New York Steak and Butterfly Shrimp, which is what was going on today, but the steak was way over cooked and unseasoned. I'm pretty sure they just boil all their meats because it's the blandest meat I've ever had in my life. The shrimp was good but the tray was always empty. The juice machine was down so they put pitchers of juice in the salad bar...which is a germaphobe's worst nightmare due to everyone taking used cups back to the bar and refilling their cups and small children playing over the pitcher's putting dingers on the pour spout. For sanitary concerns I asked for a pitcher of juice to keep at my table since I had a large group anyway, and was told no because of self serve options...which sounded like a huge load of BS, but whatever. I was pleasantly surprised with this particular location. The food was OUTSTANDING! I have never had a better meal for lunch at a buffet style restaurant. The food was seasoned well. This has had to be one of the best golden corrals in America! I came here a few years ago and would still come back and eat til this day! The staff at this place is always very hard working. The management was super friendly. You can tell the employees work very hard to keep the place clean. There is a giant selection of food here that is all pretty fresh. There is a super long line on Sunday's that wraps out of the door and around the corner, but the food at this location is worth it! If you stop by augusta, you should visit this place. read more

I'm a big Golden Corral fan, or at least I was in the past. Today was my first visit in awhile though as it costs us $60 to come as a family. The kids have been begging so we decided to give it a shot. This place is hit or miss depending on the time and day you come. To be fair, I knew that before we got in the car to make the drive here. Tonight though, things were just not up to par with what I have experienced in the past. It wasn't terrible, it just didn't knock my socks off. I had to fish through 4 different plates to find a clean one, the dessert staff was rude when asking for spoons, and the chicken was dry and old. But other things were good.
