This isn't my usual place, however, for a large family outing being conscience of cost, Golden Corral fit the bill for weekend brunch time. 9 of us arrived about 10:15am. Buffet food is not quality grub but Golden Corral has so many options on their spread that usually something pleases any of the customers. I was very impressed with their steak, onion rings, carrot cake, pot roast and items for a nacho plate. I was not crazy about their soups, tilapia, nor their tamales. We are frequent flyers of this restaurant, tonight the food was terrible and the service was horrible . 1st waiter saw us as invisible and most of the other guests. Only the 2 tables with Spanish guests got service and chatted with the waiter as all of us looked on. We ask the hostess and cashier if we could move to a different section. A waitress came wrote her name on our receipt and said if we need anything to let her know. She saw us as invisible. I had to go get a new drink when mine was empty. Went there on Saturday the day before they closed in Boynton beach. I was there with my children. While getting food a customer was making a complaint to the employee named Charles. The manager Jazmin was standing right there. The customer who also has children and his wife was being threatened by Charles to get his (blank) beat and called the guy a "N" word. This was a very loud argument which everyone in the place heard the commotion. Many people with children left the building as did the older folks. Jazmin did absolutely nothing in the matter. She just stood there. Charles has since moved to the Royal Palm location as if nothing happened. DONT ENGAGE WITH CHARLES. Do not patronize this place that finds its ok to have employees that act like this and pay them on top of it. read more

It is good to see a Golden Corral down here. The two clise to me in Orlando, Florida not only closed, but the buildings themselves were demolished. Golden Corral is a cool enough buffet. I will say that Golden Corral is ultimately more about quantity than quality, but that is not always a bad thing. Sometimes you just want to have a huge array and can try a bit of everything and eat way too much. The ambiance is pleasant enough and it is cool just to check out the food and try a bit of this and try a bit of that. The staff was friendly and outgoing and all in all, this was a pleasant enough experience. Golden Corral has been around since 1971 and the first location was in Fayetteville, North Carolina. It grew to be a huge chain, but it seemed that they have been closing locations. Maybe it was Covid-19 or maybe a change in dining habits (or maybe a bit of both). Either way, it was good to visit Golden Corral. It has been awhile and I enjoyed my overall experience. read more

I don't really get why people give this place a low rating. Every time I have been here I have always been met with a warm greeting and a smile from the cashier. I've been here on weekends and weekdays and the food and table service has always been prompt. For the price you pay I believe that you receive good quality food! Also .... The salad bar is A+. Tons of offerings with many being very healthy. I began here and took two pictures. The desserts are devine! Chocolate pie and brownies are incredible. I don't recall seeing the strawberry cake this time, unfortunately. I do have a couple other dessert complaints and with dessert usually one of the buffet's strong points, my rating for this visit really suffered. First, the vanilla soft serve was not working on 3/2/25 (dinner). I love vanilla soft serve and was looking forward to it. Second, the toppings they offer for the soft serve could be enhanced. Add some fudge syrup. Add some caramel syrup. Add whipped cream. Add M&Ms and/or gummies. This could really be incredible. A couple other things could help to improve the buffet. First, the steak is never great. I'm not expecting a Ruth's Chris filet mignon here but mine was just way too fatty. Maybe I can't expect that to change. Second, the butterfly shrimp sounds so good but wasn't. It was cold and hard. Again, not sure I can expect that to change. Finally, I don't touch their pizza because it looks very unappetizing. Next time, I will force myself to try but it looks worse than my old school hot lunch (apologies if school food has improved in this day and age). I've been here twice, now, and with so many buffets in the area I'm not sure I will be back anytime soon. There is no customer service in the place, even the manager doesn't know how to treat customers and the place or not hygienic, I used to come to this place a couple of years ago and never had this kinda of inconvenience. Golden Corral was founded in 1971 by James Maynard and William F. Carl. The first Golden Corral Family Steak House opened in 1973 in Fayetteville North Carolina. The early Golden Corrals were steak restaurants, not all you can eat buffets. In the 1980's Golden Corral rebranded and expanded to include a buffet with 160 hot and cold items. During this time the restaurant added the Brass Bell Bakery. A brass bell used to ring every 15 minutes when the hot rolls were ready. Those fresh rolls are still my favorite bakery item. The Company is privately owned and in 2015 Lance Trenary was appointed CEO. As other all you can eat buffets saw their sales declined, Golden Corral operated on a 100 year plan for the company making their decisions for the long term instead of cutting corners for a quick profit. Golden Corral began instituting a remodel that has been shown to generate better sales for the company. The new design makes the buffet area more attractive and shows an open kitchen. 30 of the 489 locations received the updates in 2018. Obviously Golden Corral was struck hard by the Covid Pandemic. The restaurants near me still have permanently closed. It is sad to see the weeds overtaking the abandoned building in Pompano. I had so many good memories there of family meals while my daughter was growing up. Everyone can pick what they like. It seems like the Golden Corrals north of me and in the center of the state have managed to survive. At first they all shut down and then they started reopening as take out and a cafeteria style restaurant but this model was not sustainable in the long run because they couldn't turn a profit with the number of workers needed to serve the food. This restaurant in Boynton Beach has managed to survive the pandemic. It was my family's choice to eat here after a visit to the nearby South Florida National Cemetery. My first impressions when walking in was that the restaurant looks spotless. Everything looked super clean and the buffet looked pretty much like it did before Covid although a few alterations. There are gloves offered but I didn't see anyone using them. The restaurant is huge so it was easy to social distance away from everyone else. Prices seem to have gone up. We cam in a little after 4 so we paid the dinner price. A drink and meal was over $19 which is kind of pricey in my opinion for what you get. Food selections look pretty much the same as they have always been. You have a large salad bar, hot foods including meat and vegetables, grilled steak, a carving station with ham, and the dessert bar with cakes, pies, pudding, and ice cream but no more chocolate fountain. Everyone in my family loves the carrot cake. The food is not gourmet but it is filling. Expect to find a lot of chicken, pot roast, fish, ham, sweet potatoes, sausage and peppers, a taco bar, meatloaf and broccoli, cornbread, macaroni and cheese, hot vegetables, mashed potatoes and gravy, and bourbon chicken. I wanted the steak but they never cook enough to keep up with the demand and the piece I was given was practically raw. Everyone wants it and you are always stuck waiting for them to cook more. I ended up with some fried shrimp, a little pot roast, and a salad. You would have to eat a lot of food to get your money's worth and I don't enjoy that overly full feeling. They did have the beloved rolls but the pie boxes were left out on the counter and the pies were served still frozen. I get that they don't make their desserts here but couldn't they at least warm the apple pie up, I think I'm losing my taste for Golden Corral. I have enjoyed past visits to this chain mainly for the nostalgia of pre Covid days. This visit I hardly ate anything and what I did wasn't great. If you are going to eat here go for lunch for the best value. read more

Visiting the Palm Beach area and saw ads about this place nearby. It was a buffet place we enjoyed when our kids were young as the huge selection of foods had something for everyone. We figured it would be busy on a Sunday so went mid-afternoon. Ouch! It was packed! But we only had about a 15 minute wait. We both had a light breakfast and were hungry. I always like to try a variety of selections but probably overdid it. Meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, chicken livers, BBQ ribs, fried shrimp, fried okra, Brussels sprouts, steak, carrots and cabbage all were tested. All were very good with a couple exceptions. Chicken livers were very dry; fried shrimp was mostly breading; steak was mostly fat & gristle - I warned my wife about steak. Meatloaf was juicy and flavorful. Ribs were great and fall-off-the-bone. Veggies were all great. Salads looked great but passed on it. Finished up with some fresh fruit and a shared slice of delicious coconut cream pie. A great place for country cooking. read more

I'm not so crazy about these buffet places, but I agreed to go..I was pleasantly surprised.. we got there at 5:30 on a Thursday evening...The Food was piping hot... The fried shrimp was delicious... Their ribs were soft and juicy... I'm not crazy about all the food but those are the things I ate, and I must say, they we really good... I did not take any pictures because you serve yourself and my plate really wasn't picture worthy... But, I would definitely go there again.. plus , for the price, you can't beat it! read more

Gold Corral Buffet in Bonyton Beach is a clean, well run restaurant. I especially like the attentive waitresses. Food is constantly refilled and kept extremely neat and clean. The selection of food is impressive. Everything was fresh, hot and tasty. I liked the meat loaf and mash potatoes and the fabulous roasted turkey withstuffing. (See photo). It was easily as good as any fancy restaurant. Prices are reasonable considerably the out of control food costs due to government endless wasteful spending. First time I ever went there a few months ago. The prices increased substantially from what I was told they used to be. They have a decent variety of food. The food tasted pretty good. Some things tasted better than others. I didn't try the varied salad and fruit bar. Just the hot stuff and a small portion of two deserts. The atmosphere needs some updating. I have been going to Golden Corral at many of their locations for years. This review is for the Boynton Beach FL location. Every time I have been there it has been busy but the restaurant is clean and there is always a good selection of food. If you get there at 3:30, you will pay for lunch, but the dinner food starts getting put out around 3:45 or so, and you can help yourself to that if you are interested. I love the salad bar. There is such a huge selection of fresh vegetables as well as tuna and chicken salad and pasta salad etc. It is the perfect place to go for families, because kids never can agree on what they want to eat and Golden Corral definitely has something for everyone. All of their hot selections are really good and there is a huge selection of desserts. read more

I've eaten here for years but if things continue like they have for the past two visits I guess I won't be back. The food is COLD! Too many times you see steam coming from some of the trays but then the food is actually lukewarm. This is not good, nor safe! I've brought it to their attention, but I guess food safety is far down on their list. I wasn't looking forward to going but our grandchildren really wanted to go so of course we went. The check in staff were almost friendly but we got through quickly paid and were seated promptly. I have to admit to being surprised by the cleanliness and the number of food choices. I tried many different dishes and liked everything I tried. Our Grandchildren loved the choices and had no trouble finding foods they enjoyed. Dessert is included and again lots to choose from. For 4 of us the bill was 70.00 including tip. read more
